Muslim-led demonstration in Oxford on 30th July exposing the toxic ‘theology’ of Islamic fanatics

The grotesque murder yesterday by despicable Muslim villains of an elderly French priest while conducting prayers in his own church is condemned without reservation. There are no extenuating circumstances that can justify their sacrilegious invasion of a House of God, nor their horrendous slaying of Father Jacque Hamel while he celebrated morning mass. Indeed, the Qur’an reaffirms the eternal security of all sanctified places of prayer as well as the total safety of worshipers (22:40).

These low-life Muslim reprobates who have been brainwashed by poisonous ISIS propaganda to foster religious hostility do so in direct contravention of the uplifting Qur’anic text (60:8). They certainly do not act on behalf of the vast bulk of peace-loving Muslims. Their demented criminality can never be excused in our name. They only represent a barbaric nihilistic caricature of Qur’anic Islam. And irrespective of France’s geopolitical designs and neo-imperialist strategy in Syria and Iraq today, ISIS does not have any scriptural vindication for their mindless ‘Jihadi’ bloodletting against innocent civilians, be it in a Parisian theatre, on the streets of Nice or now in the hallowed sanctuary of a Catholic church. These brutal killings and other hideous atrocities are unequivocally denounced by Islam’s sacred scripture as well as by the preponderant majority of Muslims worldwide. It is only degenerate delinquents, egged on by a fascist non-Qur’anic ideology, which seeks to exonerate their savage inhumanity and utter non-religiosity.

For this reason, the Muslim Educational Centre of Oxford (MECO) is organizing a public protest at Carfax Tower, Cornmarket Street, Oxford at 12 noon on Saturday, 30th July 2016 to openly disavow militant Islamic fundamentalism (including ISIS, al-Qaida, Taliban, Boko Haram, al-Shabaab, etc). This public demonstration expresses our deep solidarity and fraternity with all the innocent victims of terrorism in Europe and elsewhere.

This Muslim-led initiative will conclusively expose the toxic ‘theology’ of Islamic fanatics by highlighting the explicit Qur’anic summons for mutual co-existence (3:64). So, we call upon all Muslims (and those of other creeds and none) to join us in voicing our clear collective opposition to all ISIS thugs and psychopaths who malign the good name of our faith and its followers.

COME LET US REMIND THE WORLD THAT ISIS DOES NOT ACT OR SPEAK FOR US, THEY ONLY BETRAY ISLAM AND MUSLIMS.

WHATEVER THEY SAY AND DO, IT CAN NEVER BE IN THE NAME OF ALL THOSE WHO ADHERE TO THE INSPIRATIONAL AND TOLERANT TEACHING OF THE HOLY QUR’AN.

Please pass this notification to anyone who might be interested in joining us on Saturday. Inshallah / God-willing.

Salaam and regards,– Faiza Ahmad MECO administrator
