Supporting Palestinian Intifada Tops Closing Statement of Iran Conference

February 22, 2017

The closing statement of the sixth International conference “To support the Palestinian Intifada” held in Tehran highlighted on Tuesday the importance of the Palestinian cause, calling on supporting it and avoiding marginalizing it amid the regional crises.

The statement also hailed the Lebanese and Palestinian resistance movements, stressing their role in confronting the Zionist entity.

It also called on the international organizations to denounce and deter the Israeli aggressions, warning some Arab and Muslim countries against normalizing ties with the Zionist entity.

The statement added that the US administration intention to move the Zionist entity capital into Al-Quds must draw a response from the Arab and Muslim states by closing their embassies in the United States.

Finally, the statement highly appreciated the Iranian people sacrifices for the sake of the Palestinian cause.

The Iranian capital, Tehran, hosted on Tuesday and Wednesday an international forum in support of the Palestinian cause, with hundreds of foreign guests, including senior Palestinian leaders and officials of Muslim nations, in attendance.

Text of the Resolution:

The Security Council,

Reaffirming its relevant resolutions, including resolutions 242 (1967), 338 (1973), 446 (1979), 452 (1979), 465 (1980), 476 (1980), 478 (1980), 1397 (2002), 1515 (2003), and 1850 (2008),

Guided by the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, and reaffirming, inter alia, the inadmissibility of the acquisition of territory by force,

Reaffirming the obligation of Israel, the occupying Power, to abide scrupulously by its legal obligations and responsibilities under the Fourth Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, of 12 August 1949, and recalling the advisory opinion rendered on 9 July 2004 by the International Court of Justice,

Condemning all measures aimed at altering the demographic composition, character and status of the Palestinian Territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, including, inter alia, the construction and expansion of settlements, transfer of Israeli settlers, confiscation of land, demolition of homes and displacement of Palestinian civilians, in violation of international humanitarian law and relevant resolutions,

Expressing grave concern that continuing Israeli settlement activities are dangerously imperilling the viability of the two-State solution based on the 1967 lines,

Recalling the obligation under the Quartet Roadmap, endorsed by its resolution 1515 (2003), for a freeze by Israel of all settlement activity, including “natural growth”, and the dismantlement of all settlement outposts erected since March 2001,

Recalling also the obligation under the Quartet roadmap for the Palestinian Authority Security Forces to maintain effective operations aimed at confronting all those engaged in terror and dismantling terrorist capabilities, including the confiscation of illegal weapons,

Condemning all acts of violence against civilians, including acts of terror, as well as all acts of provocation, incitement and destruction,

Reiterating its vision of a region where two democratic States, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace within secure and recognized borders,

Stressing that the status quo is not sustainable and that significant steps, consistent with the transition contemplated by prior agreements, are urgently needed in order to (i) stabilize the situation and to reverse negative trends on the ground, which are steadily eroding the two-State solution and entrenching a one-State reality, and (ii) to create the conditions for successful final status negotiations and for advancing the two-State solution through those negotiations and on the ground,

1. Reaffirms that the establishment by Israel of settlements in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967, including East Jerusalem, has no legal validity and constitutes a flagrant violation under international law and a major obstacle to the achievement of the two-State solution and a just, lasting and comprehensive peace;

2. Reiterates its demand that Israel immediately and completely cease all settlement activities in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, and that it fully respect all of its legal obligations in this regard;

3. Underlines that it will not recognize any changes to the 4 June 1967 lines, including with regard to Jerusalem, other than those agreed by the parties through negotiations;

4. Stresses that the cessation of all Israeli settlement activities is essential for salvaging the two-State solution, and calls for affirmative steps to be taken immediately to reverse the negative trends on the ground that are imperilling the two-State solution;

5. Calls upon all States, bearing in mind paragraph 1 of this resolution, to distinguish, in their relevant dealings, between the territory of the State of Israel and the territories occupied since 1967;

6. Calls for immediate steps to prevent all acts of violence against civilians, including acts of terror, as well as all acts of provocation and destruction, calls for accountability in this regard, and calls for compliance with obligations under international law for the strengthening of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, including through existing security coordination, and to clearly condemn all acts of terrorism;

7. Calls upon both parties to act on the basis of international law, including international humanitarian law, and their previous agreements and obligations, to observe calm and restraint, and to refrain from provocative actions, incitement and inflammatory rhetoric, with the aim, inter alia, of de-escalating the situation on the ground, rebuilding trust and confidence, demonstrating through policies and actions a genuine commitment to the two-State solution, and creating the conditions necessary for promoting peace;

8. Calls upon all parties to continue, in the interest of the promotion of peace and security, to exert collective efforts to launch credible negotiations on all final status issues in the Middle East peace process and within the time frame specified by the Quartet in its statement of 21 September 2010;

9. Urges in this regard the intensification and acceleration of international and regional diplomatic efforts and support aimed at achieving, without delay a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in the Middle East on the basis of the relevant United Nations resolutions, the Madrid terms of reference, including the principle of land for peace, the Arab Peace Initiative and the Quartet Roadmap and an end to the Israeli occupation that began in 1967; and underscores in this regard the importance of the ongoing efforts to advance the Arab Peace Initiative, the initiative of France for the convening of an international peace conference, the recent efforts of the Quartet, as well as the efforts of Egypt and the Russian Federation;

10. Confirms its determination to support the parties throughout the negotiations and in the implementation of an agreement;

11. Reaffirms its determination to examine practical ways and means to secure the full implementation of its relevant resolutions;

12. Requests the Secretary-General to report to the Council every three months on the implementation of the provisions of the present resolution;

13. Decides to remain seized of the matter.

From Ma’an News:

Palestine Victorious Over UNSC Resolution, Israel Left ‘Abandoned’ by US

BETHLEHEM (Ma’an) — Palestinian leadership and members of the international community were victorious after the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution calling for an end to illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territory and reiterated that their existence is illegal under international law.

After days of diplomatic turmoil, the US shocked and outraged Israel by refusing to veto the resolution — by abstaining from the vote, US President Barack Obama allowed resolution 2334 to pass Friday night at the UNSC.

Palestine’s envoy to the United Nations Riyad Mansour noted that the resolution came after years of allowing Israel to “entrench its occupation and a one-state reality with absolute impunity, at times even being rewarded for its violations and intransigence”

“Against this backdrop,” Mansour said, “one Council resolution in nearly eight years is not disproportionate; it is shameful. But today’s vote rectifies this record and sets us on a new course.”

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the PLO Saeb Erekat described the event to Reuters news agency as “a day of victory for international law, a victory for civilized language and negotiation and a total rejection of extremist forces in Israel.”

“The international community has told the people of Israel that the way to security and peace is not going to be done through occupation … but rather through peace, ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state to live side by side with the state of Israel on the 1967 line,” Erekat said.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas reportedly called the resolution “a slap in the face to Israeli policy” and an “absolute international condemnation to settlements and unanimous support for a two-state solution.”

He said in a statement earlier marking the occasion of Christmas that “Despite the Israeli occupation, our presence in our homeland and the preservation of our cultural and national heritage are the most important form of resistance in the face of the darkness of a foreign colonialist occupying power.”

Spokesperson for the Hamas movement Fawzi Narhoum said that Hamas applauded the countries who “rejected the Israeli occupation’s aggressive settlement policies against the Palestinian people.”

“We ask for more such supportive positions seeking to bring justice to the Palestinian cause and end occupation.”

Leftist Palestinian faction the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) also released a statement Friday welcoming the Security Council resolution, but warned that Israel and its allies would likely try to make the resolution null and void.

“Israel and its allies,” the statement said, “will try to impede implementation of the resolution or call attention to parts of the resolution’s content related to terrorism, violence, and incitement, which can be harmful to the Palestinians.”

Human rights organization Amnesty International called the decision to “finally” pass such a resolution a “welcome step.”

“This is the first time in almost four decades that such a resolution has been passed. During this time, settlements not only continued to be built, but at an accelerated pace,” Sherine Tadros, Head of Amnesty International’s UN Office in New York wrote in a statment, noting that resolution not only demands a halt to settlement building but also recognizes their illegality.

“Amnesty International has campaigned for many years on this issue. Israel’s settlement policy is inherently discriminatory and has resulted in grave human rights violations including destruction of homes, forced evictions, unlawful killings, arbitrary detentions, and collective punishment.”

Israel reacts

Meanwhile, Israeli officials and their allies expressed shock and outrage over the resolution, accusing the Obama administration of colluding with Palestine while betraying a decades-long relationship of supporting Israeli policies.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel “would not abide by the terms” of the “shameful anti-Israel resolution.”

Netanyahu also reportedly instructed Israel’s ambassadors in New Zealand and Senegal — two states that supported the resolution — to return to Israel for consultations. He also ordered the cancellation of a planned visit to Israel by Senegal’s foreign minister and the cancellation of all aid programs to Senegal, according to Israeli news site Ynet.

Israeli Minister Yuval Steinitz said that the United States had “abandoned” Israel by abstaining from the vote, adding that “the heart aches that after eight years of friendship… and cooperation with Obama, this is his final chord” in the departing Obama administration.

Ynet quoted an anonymous Israeli official as saying that Obama and US Secretary of State John Kerry “secretly cooked up” the “extreme anti-Israeli resolution behind Israel’s back.”

He said the resolution would be a “tailwind for terror and boycotts,” calling the move “shameful” and “an abandonment of Israel which breaks decades of US policy of protecting Israel at the UN.”

Israel’s ambassador to the UN Danny Danon for his part insisted that “Neither the Security Council nor UNESCO will rewrite history and to sever the link between the people of Israel and the land of Israel,” warning that “Efforts to attack Israel” would not help the peace process.

A number of US officials also reacted with dismay to the decision, with President-elect Donald Trump saying ominously in a Tweet, “Things will be different after Jan. 20th.”

Netanyahu had said after the resolution’s passage that he looked forward to working with Trump and the pro-Israeli members of the US Congress to reverse the damages of the “absurd” decision.

US Speaker of the House Paul Ryan calling the abstention vote by the US “absolutely shameful,” while Republican Senator John McCain said the move made the US “complicit in this outrageous attack” against Israel.

Leading up to the vote, US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham who oversees the Senate subcommittee that controls United States’ UN funding, had threatened to cut funding for the UN and any nation that backed the measure.

However, critics have pointed out that dozens of past UN resolutions condemning Israeli policies in the occupied territory have not been supported by the political will necessary to enforce such measures.

Many expressed worry that the Friday’s resolution would also be merely symbolic — noting in particular the resolution did not authorize any form of sanctions to compel Israel to respect international law.

Despite the US government, particularly under Barack Obama, having routinely condemned Israel’s settlement expansions, US officials have yet to take any concrete actions to end settlement building and instead inadvertently encouraged the enterprise through consistent inaction over Israel’s violation of international law and continued support of the Israeli government through inflated military aid packages.

Amnesty International continued in their statement, saying that going forward, the UNSC “must now ensure this resolution is respected. Indeed, it should go further and demand that the state of Israel not only fulfil its legal obligation to halt settlement-building, but also dismantle its settlements and relocate its settlers outside Occupied Palestinian Territories. This is the only way to a just and durable peace.”

14th anniversary of Al-Aqsa Intifada: Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa are under attack

Handshake with killer in another Killer’s funeral

On the occasion of the 14th anniversary of the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa remain under threat from occupation forces, said the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The events of late September and early October 2000 remain fresh in the mind of every Palestinian, said the Front, recalling the occupation forces attacking mass marches of Palestinians in occupied Palestine ’48, killing 13 martyrs in cold blood and wounding dozens while arresting hundreds, as they sought to suppress the upsurge of our people for Jerusalem and al-Aqsa in all cities and villages under occupation.

Jerusalem and al-Aqsa mosque continue to be under threat and in danger, said the Front; Jerusalem faces a systematic, rapid and extremely dangerous policy of Judaization, where at the hands of occupation soldiers and settlers, 23 Palestinian homes were confiscated in Silwan, while more Palestinian homes are destroyed each day as mass arrests and administrative detention against Palestinian leaders continue. Furthermore, the storming and invasion of the al-Aqsa grounds by settlers and soldiers takes place on a frequent, at times almost daily, basis.

The escalation of Zionist aggression and Judaization of Jerusalem requires that all national and Islamic forces, and the PLO Executive Committee, give a high priority to the situation facing Jerusalem, and to defend the Palestinian and Arab character of Jerusalem as part of our program of struggle everywhere the Palestinian people are located, and to support the resistance to the repressive, racist, threatening actions of the occupier in Jerusalem at Palestinian, Arab and international levels.

Palestine’s Bilal Kayed Escalates Hunger Strike, More Palestinian prisoners join hunger strike

Published on Aug 2, 2016

More Palestinian prisoners have joined hunger strikes to protest Tel Aviv’s policy of administrative detention, and in solidarity with Palestinian inmate Bilal Kayed. He has been refusing to eat for nearly 50 days because Israeli authorities refused to release him after he served a 14-year sentence.

Palestine’s Bilal Kayed Escalates Hunger Strike

Bilal Kayed, a Palestinian prisoner who has been on hunger strike for more than a month in protest at his administrative detention by the Zionist authorities is now refusing to undergo medical treatment.

“Bilal Kayed has stated that he would rather die of starvation than give up his rights and those of his fellow prisoners,” Palestinian prisoners’ rights group Addameer said in a statement on Monday.Bilal Kayed

The statement added that 35-year-old Kayed, a member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), is handcuffed to his bed at Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon, and is wearing a gadget that sounds an alarm in case he makes a sudden movement.

Addameer further said that more than 100 Palestinian prisoners have gone on hunger strike since mid-July in solidarity with Kayed, stressing that the Palestinian hunger striker is demanding to be transferred back to prison.

Kayed was arrested in 2002 and spent 14 and a half years in Israeli jails. On the day he was scheduled to be released on June 13, Tel Aviv decided to expand his imprisonment term for another six months under the administrative detention policy.

The Palestinian man then went on a hunger strike to express his opposition. His hunger strike is now in its 48th day.

There are reportedly more than 6,500 Palestinians held at Israeli jails, hundreds of them in administrative detention, which is a policy under which Palestinian inmates are kept incarcerated without trial or charge. The period of detention can then be extended an infinite number of times.

Some prisoners have been held in administrative detention for up to eleven years without any charges brought against them.

S.Nasrallah to Saudi: Contain Regional Wars or your Scheme Shall be Smashed

Hezbollah warns Saudi about Israel ties, continued aggression

Local Editor

Full Speech

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah advised Saudi Arabia not to be blinded by hatred and arrogance and contain the situation in the region by returning to negotiations, warning its scheme shall be smashed and disgraced if it insisted on persistence of conflicts.

Sayyed Nasrallah“Saudi Arabia and its rulers have a chance to contain the situation. Yemenis, Bahrainis, Syrians, Iranians and Iraqis are ready for negotiations. Don’t be arrogant and don’t be blinded by hatred, you should rather be part of a solution to the regional crises,” Sayyed Nasrallah said in a televised speech on Friday afternoon during a memorial ceremony of Hezbollah commander Ismail Zahri who died last week after struggling with a long-term illness.

Sayyed Nasrallah warned Saudis that if they insisted on persistence of conflicts, they will be defeated, “the Al Saud scheme shall be smashed and disgraced, all field data points to such results.”

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed to the recent visits by Saudi generals and figures to the Zionist entity, saying they were part of an official recognition of Israel.

“The Arab world is in its worst conditions ever. The worst development in recent weeks is the Saudi contacts with the Israelis, which has become public.”

“When Saudi generals and figures, of course with the consent of the Saudi regime which controls everything its nationals do, pay visits to ‘Israel’, they are thus paving the ground for an open relation with the Zionist enemy.

When Saudi presents itself as the state of Islam, Quran and the land of prophecy and recognizes ‘Israel’, then we are before a religious and cultural catastrophe. Eventually, this would be a pretext for other Arab countries to follow the path of Saudi Arabia for being a “role model” for the Arab world,” Hezbollah S.G. said.

Retired Saudi General Anwar Eshki headed a delegation of Saudi academics and business people in a visit to the Zionist entity last week where he met Israeli officials, among which were Zionist Foreign Ministry Director-General Dore Gold and Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj.-Gen. Yoav Mordechai and a group of Knesset members, the daily Ha’aretz reported.

audienceIn recent years, Saudi Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud had met openly with former senior Israeli Occupation Forces officials Yaakov Amidror and Amos Yadlin, both retired generals. The Saudi general and prince have granted generous interviews to Israeli media outlets, maintain ties with Israeli ‘peace organizations’ and sit alongside Israeli delegates at international conferences around the world.

“When a known prince meets Israeli officials and an intelligence official follows suit and visits the occupied land, this cannot happen without the Saudi kingdom’s approval,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, adding that after such contacts were made secretly, now they are becoming open and public.

“Such action by any Arab figure whether he was Jordanian, Egyptian, Syrian… should be condemned and denounced by Arabs,” he added, calling upon people to reject these acts that only serve the enemies and threaten the region.

Sayyed Nasrallah criticized Saudi Arabia for opening relations with ‘Israel’ without any preconditions on one hand while imposing a surrendering conditions on Bahrainis, Yemenis, Iranians.., who are extending their hands for talks.

Sayyed Nasrallah ridiculed the Saudi foreign minister’s stance days ago, saying he “has appointed himself as a custodian and governor of the Syrian people and the proposal he made to Russia by offering it a share in the region is farce and funny.”

“We tell the Saudis: You can’t win this war or impose your conditions. You are in no position to divide shares and set conditions and neither are your kings and rulers,” he said. “What happened in Aleppo is highly important and is relevant to regional equations. Imperial dreams have fallen in Aleppo in front of the steadfastness of the resistance and the people. Does [Adel] Al-Jubeir think he can fool the world at the time when Takfiris who are holding your ideology are slaughtering a priest in the church, attacking Niece, killing innocents in Karradah, and murdering a Palestinian child in Syria?! This is the Wahhabi Takfiri ideology, your scheme has no future.”

His eminence expressed regret that the Palestinian cause has become forgotten and undermined by some Arab regimes. However, he praised the Palestinian martyr, Mohammad Al-Fakih from Surif town, northwest of Al-Khalil, as a “shining side” of the Arab world and an “icon of resistance and rejection of Israeli occupation and hegemony.”

PFLP salutes the martyr and resistance struggler Mohammed al-Faqih

Days ago, Sayyed Nasrallah recalled, Bahrainis staged huge sit-ins and protests against the trial of Sheikh Issa Al-Qassim

“despite the harsh weather conditions, thus, preventing the regime from committing a folly against the Bahraini figure.” He said the regime in Bahrain “is now falsely accusing Sheikh Qassim, who is well known for his integrity, of money laundering,” which reflects their bankruptcy.

“His image is cleaner and clearer than those with dark faces and unjust minds who are seeking to oppress him,” the S.G. added.

Turning to Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah called upon the Lebanese government to assume its responsibility in preserving sovereignty on its land and especially in Ghajar which has been breached by the Zionist entity who are seeking to claim the town’s ownership.

Sayyed Nasrallah also held the government responsible for all critical issues plaguing the country (water, electricity, corruption, etc..), and warned it not to put blame on the presidential void.

His eminence praised commander Ismail Zahri  as the title of a long-term of Jihad and sacrifice among the resistance ranks, enumerating his sacrifices and traits.

“Zahri joined the resistance ranks since its very beginning and was the first to specialize in the artillery technology, he had a deep love to knowledge and science, he was passionate, honest and loyal… And with such leaders we shall triumph.”

PFLP: Continued normalization meetings between the Saudi regime and Zionist entity threaten the region

eshkinormalizationThe Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine strongly condemned the continued normalization meetings between the Saudi regime and the Zionist entity, the latest of which was a Saudi delegation to the Zionist state in the presence of retired General Anwar Eshki and Saudi businessmen.

The Front noted that these meetings would not take place without a green light from the official Saudi authorities, noting the danger and harm to the national cause and the interests of the Arab people at the hands of Saudi officialdom, which is working to redirect and alter the character and compass of the struggle in the region.

The Front added that the recurring nature of these meetings indicates a high level of coordination between the Saudi regime, the Zionist entity, and the United States administration in the destruction of the region, keeping it burning and torn apart by sectarian and confessional conflicts, terror, and the takfiri groups funded and fueled by Saudi Arabia and the West.

The Front also emphasized that the continuation of these meetings provides cover and assistance to the occupation in its oppression of the Palestinian people and gives a veneer of legitimacy to its massive and ongoing crimes. They also continue to the normalization with the Zionist entity as a “fact on the ground” in the region, working to promote the role of the occupation state in the region and increase its influence.

The Front denounced the participation of a Palestinian official in these normalization meetings, emphasizing that there are some in the monopolistic Palestinian leadership who do not want to leave the framework of negotiations, normalization and meetings with the Zionist entity. This must be confronted with a popular response and clear Palestinian stand to confront this corrosion that eats away at our national liberation struggle.

The Bahraini tyrants’ revocation of Ayatollah Issa al-Qassem’s citizenship needs to be seen in a greater historical context. Contrary to the deplorably sectarian statement released by the Khalifa regime’s Interior Ministry of Repression and Savagery, Bahrain’s highest-ranking spiritual authority was in fact born in the village of Diraz, just outside of Manama, and is thus as indigenous to Bahrain as the Dragon Blood Tree is indigenous to Yemen’s Socotra. The Khalifa despots on the other hand, like their toxic Wahhabi counterparts in Riyadh, are from Najd and have been ruling illegitimately over the Shi’a majority of the tiny Arab island for more than two centuries. Thus, they aren’t Bahraini and never have been.

With that said, as a means of protecting this fraudulent throne, there is no amount of barbarity that these monstrous, criminal, dictatorial maniacs haven’t engaged in to inflict pain on Bahrainis and this shouldn’t come across as a shock. Again, like their Saudi brethren, the Najdi Khalifas are darlings of ‘Israel’. Indeed, the Bahraini “King” even bragged about his closeness with the Mossad. And this Manama-“Tel Aviv” alliance is reflected in the crimes committed: Home demolitions, destruction and desecration of sanctities including mosques, tear gas assaults, deadly shootings of unarmed civilians, rapes and other forms of sexual violence, deportations of citizens from the Shi’a majority and then the settlement of foreigners (“Sunnis” of Iraqi, Pakistani and Najdi origin) in their place on confiscated lands, home invasions, arbitrary arrests, torture, and now, revoking the citizenship of anyone who opposes the regime including an elderly cleric who is the spiritual guide to all Bahraini Shi’a and well-respected throughout the Arab-Islamic world. Sounds like Palestine, doesn’t it?! It’s simply beyond egregious. But don’t think that this is a new phenomenon that emerged as some sort of errant current from the “Arab Spring” PSYOP. No. Bahrainis have nothing to do with the “Arab Spring”. They’ve been rebelling against Al-Khalifa’s brutality and alien rule for decades upon decades upon decades upon… Well. You get the picture.

And speaking of pictures, this overview brings us to the BIG, nay, the BIGGEST picture. The corrupted move against Ayatollah Issa al-Qassem, not to mention the banning of Al-Wefaq–Bahrain’s largest political party, not merely “the opposition” as it is called in the Zionist-controlled MSM–and the despicable imprisonment of Sheikh Ali Salman, who Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has repeatedly saluted and demanded to be freed, assuredly will not be the last crimes of Al-Khalifa, a fact upheld by its 233 years of tyranny that is maintained today with American, British and ‘Israeli’ support. When will the atrocities and the oppression stop? When? The “freedom and democracy” model has failed. The “peaceful” activism upheld by the likes of the Khawaja family (Maryam, Zaynab, Abdul Hadi, etc.) and Nabeel Rajab, who, in my view, despite their very real tribulations, flirt WAY too much with the Western NGO-Human-Rights-Industrial Complex, has also failed. And clearly, clearer than the gorgeous waters washing up on Bahrain’s beaches, this is because Najdis don’t understand the language of peace. If the Bahrainis truly want an end to their suffering, and undoubtedly they do, a shift in strategic vision is immensely needed.

For such a change, they should look no further than their Omani cousins who engaged in one of the most epic and perhaps most forgotten struggles in Global South/Arab-Islamic History. In 1962, the righteous, resistant, gallant people of Dhofar inaugurated the Dhofar Liberation Front which would by 1968 become PFLOAG, the Popular Front For The Liberation Of The Arabian Gulf. An infusion of Islamic Liberationism and Socialism, and backed at various points by Nasser, South Yemen, the PFLP and China, PFLOAG led an armed revolution against the British-protected Sultanate and liberated entire provinces of Oman in the mere span of a few years and were on their way to organically deposing the tyrant Said bin Taimur. Thousands of martyrs were given in this battle. But then the British swooped in and carried out a coup in 1970, installing Said’s son Qaboos as his replacement to rule Muscat. Qaboos, a total Anglophile, allowed the Rothschild-financed Brits to fully take over military operations and also called in help from that notorious devil Muhammad Reza Pahlavi aka the Shah of Iran, and by 1976, the Dhofar Rebellion of PFLOAG had been crushed by the UK-led counterrevolution. Nevertheless, this was the closest that any people in the Khaleej had ever come to putting an end to Zionist-Imperialist-backed absolute monarchy. It’s a portion of our history that needs to be reflected on over and over again so the triumphs are internalized and the mistakes are understood for the sake of them not being repeated.

While PFLOAG ultimately ended up alone in its fight, Bahrain is in no such boat. The Islamic Republic of Iran, Hizbullah, Yemen’s Ansarullah and PFLOAG’s old ally the PFLP have all voiced their support for the Bahraini people’s peaceful struggle. If they decide to adopt the PFLOAG project, Bahrainis can most certainly expect that such support will not change and because of Hizbullah and Tehran’s ideological, doctrinal, Islamic commitment to aiding oppressed Muslims anywhere in the world, that support may even become direct if Al-Khalifa wages a war on its population similar to what the US-‘Israeli’-Saudi Axis of Evil has done to Yemen, Iraq and Syria. Bahrainis have been afflicted enough. It’s time they take back their country and treat the Khalifas like what these demons REALLY are: invaders, usurpers and interlopers. May Ayatollah Issa al-Qassem have justice! And may the unspeakable offense committed against him be the last straw that finally breaks the Najdi camel’s back! Insha’ALLAH! ‪#‎DeathToKhalifa‬ ‪#‎LongLiveBahrain‬ ‪#‎DeathToSaud
