The essay appearing below is posted here as a companion piece to Lawrence Davidson’s analysis, dated 16 September 2019, entitled “The Sorry State of the Nobel Peace Prize.”

“The Nobel Foundation must act against the power of the Stortinget (Parliament) over the Peace Prize” (22 July 2021) by Fredrik S Heffermehl

Argument: The Peace Prize must be awarded in accordance with the inventor Alfred Nobel’s will. In this context, the Swedish Nobel Foundation is superior to the Norwegian Parliament (Stortinget), and must therefore act to ensure that the Peace Prize in future goes to people who actively work for disarmament.

Again, there is wrangling/tussle/strife around the Nobel Peace Prize. Now about money. The Norwegian committee for the peace prize is housed in a beautiful historic building in Oslo that is so expensive to maintain that the Nobel Foundation plans to sell it. This would be a great loss and the Norwegian committee has called on the Parliament of Norway, to pick up the bill and claims that the independence of the prize will not be harmed.

But it’s not at all that simple. According to my studies, the Stortinget’s relationship to the Peace Prize is a dark story of fraud. The award was never independent of the Stortinget. An annual appropriation would increase dependence.

As always, the starting point should be Alfred Nobel’s intention with the prize. The new CEO of the Nobel Foundation, the Norwegian lawyer Vidar Helgesen, emphasized in a recent radio interview the essence of all Nobel prizes: Alfred Nobel wished to change the world. In the nuclear age ending all wars is more imperative than ever, but how well does the Nobel Foundation maintain this essence of inventor Nobel peace vision?

He wanted to end all wars through global cooperation and disarmament based on international law. The core of the inventor’s peace innovation, global demilitarization, is explicitly mentioned in the will.

In his will Nobel entrusted Stortinget with appointing a committee of five, the Norwegian Nobel Committee, supposed to use the annual election of prize winners to promote the Nobel vision of how to create peace. But that never happened. The Peace Prize has been awarded in all directions and has become a general prize for goodness without a distinct idea or clear goals. The Stortinget should have appointed supporters of Nobel’s peace idea to committee members, but has instead chosen its own and used the prize for its own purposes.

That is a main conclusion in my recent book “Behind the medals”. The most obvious measure to fulfill Nobel’s last will would be to examine what his will really was and then

make it widely known. Instead, the leadership of the Stortinget decided in 1897 to quietly ignore the clear words of the will about the reduction or abolition of the military.

The will was put aside and never interpreted professionally. Instead, the Nobel Committee interpreted its own, self-chosen and diffuse concepts, such as “peace” and “peace work”, and took with it in practice freedom to do as it wished with the prize.

As a result the award never actively promoted the Nobel idea. Even if using entrusted funds for one’s own purposes must legally be regarded as embezzlement or infidelity to the testator, this has continued since I discovered, 15 years ago, that Nobel’s original intention with the prize had been ignored. Lawmakers violating the laws and refusing to adhere to criticism is a legal and democratic problem.

While working on the book, I gained access to the Nobel Committee’s internal archives – except the last 50 years that remain off-limits/secret. I have reviewed all 131 Peace Prizes over 120 years (1901–2020). My conclusion is that only 25 percent of them fulfill the purpose. The most interesting result of my review, however, was to get a picture of those who should have won, what the prize should have been, what it could have done for world peace if Nobel´s visionary idea had been respected.

The internal reports the committee received about the candidates reveal disdain and outright contempt for the idea and the people that Nobel intended his prize to support. I found 114 of them hidden/tucked away and forgotten in the Nobel Archives. Taken together these people are/constitute an important history of ideas. The sad fact is that the people Nobel wanted to support have throughout the years been ignored and suppressed by all of society, including the Norwegian Nobel Committee.

How could this happen? During the first ten years after Nobel’s death in 1896, the wish to be free from the union with Sweden dominated Norwegian politics. As King Oscar feared, the Peace Prize became a tool in the Norwegian freedom struggle. This caused permanent damage, Norwegian politicians got used to seeing the prize as their own. They elected themselves to the coveted committee seats. The committee was composed of members of the Stortinget and the government. In reality they developed an entirely Norwegian Peace Prize in the name of Nobel.

The first chairman of the committee in 1897 was a well-known lawyer who emphasized the importance of independence and distance from the Storting. He died in 1901 and was succeeded by Jørgen Løvland, leader of the Norwegian independence struggle, who wanted to link the peace prize as closely as possible to the Stortinget. He used the staff of the Nobel Institute in the struggle for national independence. When independence was won in 1905, the Nobel chairperson was also the Minister of Foreign Affairs. In the first ten months the ministry had no employees and the Nobel Institute functioned as Norway’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Norwegian committee has never followed up on its main task: to promote the Nobel Prize for a geopolitical U-turn and universal cooperation on global peace. The prize, inspired by Bertha von Suttner’s novel “Down with the Weapons!” (1889), should have been called the Nobel Disarmament Prize. Only twice has the Committee stated the true purpose of the prize: in the speech for Bertha von Suttner as prize winner in 1905 and for the International Peace Bureau in 1910. The Norwegian administrators of the Nobel Prize are willing to discuss economic issues and everything else, except my analysis of Nobel’s intention. Such criticism is taboo and has been ignored.

Last year, the situation became really untenable. The entire Stortinget, with the exception of two members, voted against taking the Nobel will into account. Doing so, the Stortinget openly took over and rejected serving the inventor’s own idea. This is an open mutiny that forces the Nobel Foundation to intervene. As manager of Nobel’s bequeathed money the foundation bears superior responsibility for implementing Nobel’s intentions. It cannot accept a subcommittee that ignores the idea of the prize.

In an investigation of the Peace Prize in 2012, the County Administrative Board of Stockholm, which is the supervisory authority for foundations, stated that both the Norwegian Parliament and Nobel Committee are sub-bodies of the Nobel Foundation. The public supervisory board decided that the Nobel Foundation is obliged to examine Nobel´s intention with the peace prize, give the necessary instructions to the Norwegian bodies, and check that their decisions serve the purpose of the prize.

The truth is that the Storting stole the Nobel Peace Prize as early as in 1897. Norwegian society keeps totally silent about this. My criticism of the prize is extremely unpopular in Norway, but for me the world and peace have to be more important. As we face the threats of global warming, mega-fires, sea level rise, pandemics, famine, refugee flows, we are all in the same very unsafe boat and simply have to co-operate for our common survival. All countries must stand together or we shall all perish. We cannot afford the continuing military arms races that only increase the risk of us being annihilated. To break the vicious circle of militarism, the world needs Nobel’s visionary idea of world peace through cooperation. The Nobel Foundation took responsibility when, in 2017, the Board, building on my legal advice, intervened against the administrators of the literature prize. The Storting’s mutiny against Nobel is much more serious. According to the law, the Nobel Foundation has an obligation to act against the Stortinget, which in this context – unbelievably – is a body subordinate to the board of a private Swedish foundation. By law the Board of the Nobel Foundation has the right and obligation to instruct the Stortinget. The important thing now is not to increase financial dependence on the Stortinget. Instead the Foundation has to intervene and demand that the Stortinget as soon as possible appoints a prize committee that will loyally promote the peace vision of Nobel – or find other ways to ensure that the Nobel Peace Vision is realized.

Portman and Corbyn

By Gilad Atzmon

Last Thursday, The Genesis Prize announced it was cancelling its so-called “Jewish Nobel” prize ceremony in Israel in June because its 2018 recipient, Natalie Portman, said she would not take part in light of “recent events.”

The Jewish foundation said that Portman’s representative notified it that “recent events in Israel have been extremely distressing to her and she does not feel comfortable participating in any public events in Israel” and that “she cannot in good conscience move forward with the ceremony.”

According to the Forward Portman didn’t reject the prize itself, but said she could not “in good conscience” share a stage with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

So again, the Israelis are upset. Gilad Erdan, Minister of Public Security, Strategic Affairs and Minister of Information wrote to Portman to tell her that she had been hoodwinked by Hamas propaganda and invited the Jerusalem-born Hollywood star to come and see the truth.

“It is not surprising that you have seen the media reports which have distorted the truth and portrayed the recent riots on the Israel-Gaza border as peaceful demonstrations, and Israel’s response as disproportionate. It is in fact precisely this narrative which Hamas hoped to portray when it organised the riots. Unfortunately it appears that this Hamas-designed narrative has impacted your decision.”

Is Erdan, as it seems, admitting that Hamas has defeated him and his Hasbara ministry in the propaganda war?  I would like to correct Erdan, ’riots’ isn’t really the appropriate description of a mass protest by those incarcerated in the biggest open air prison known to man. Outside the Jewish ghetto it is seen as a ‘Liberation struggle.’

Israeli Culture Minister Miri Regev lambasted Portman, saying she had “fallen into the hands” of the BDS campaign that aims to isolate the Jewish state.

Likud MK Oren Hazan demanded that Israel cancel Portman’s Israeli citizenship, and labelled her

“an Israeli Jewess who on the one hand makes cynical use of her origins in order to advance her career and who, on the other hand, prides herself on having avoided being drafted into the IDF.”

The take home message is simple and devastating. Tolerance and pluralism don’t seem to be the prime characteristics of Jewish politics. What we see instead is the expectation that the entire tribe adhere to a single ideology. It seems that Israel’s leading party does not accept that Portman is openly upset by the images of Israeli soldiers shooting Palestinian protesters as if they were sitting ducks.

Sadly, this form of authoritarian behaviour is not limited to Israel. Here in Britain the Jewish ‘so-called’ representative bodies exercise the same tyrannical tendencies.

Recently  we watched an  organised Jewish campaign against Labour leader  and life long anti racist, Jeremy Corbyn.  When Corbyn celebrated the Passover dinner with Jewdas, a radical progressive Jewish group, other British Jewish organisations reacted with the same intolerance.

Speaking to Nick Ferrari on LBC Radio, Jonathan Arkush, the President of the BOD, a body that claims to ‘represent British Jews’  said: “What Jeremy Corbyn did last night was the very thing which we wrote to him about last week…stop giving credence to ultra-fringe groups that say anti-Semitic things, who are far from representative.” One would expect the BOD that claims to ‘represent Jews’ to represent all Jews including the so-called Jewish fringe.

The Jewish Labour Movement said Mr Corbyn’s attendance at the Jewdas Seder “topped off the worst week on record of awful relations between the Labour party and the Jewish community.” Apparently the Jewish Labour Movement also do not approve of the Jewish Fringe. Campaign Against anti-Semitism called Mr Corbyn’s meeting with Jewdas a “two-fingered salute against mainstream British Jewry”. I would remind the Campaign Against Antisemitsm that what is seen by some as a ‘two fingered salute’ is seen by others as a ‘V’ for victory.

I thank Natalie Portman, Jonathan Arkush, Gilad Erdan, the Jewish Labour Movement, Campaign Against Antisemitism and of course Jeremy Corbyn.  Together they provide a window into authoritarian tribalism. In fact it would be impossible to fully grasp the tragic continuum known as Jewish history without prospecting the Jewish present as it fully unveils itself.

If they want to burn it, you want to read it!

CESSPOOL OF LIES: WESTERN MEDIA AND THE TOXIC FANTASY

Get a nice look at the Marlboro Man on the upper right side of the picture.  Gee, he must not be too worried about the Sarin gas!  Maybe he’s immune to Sarin gas since there really isn’t any around him anyways.  This photo was taken in Khaan Shaykhoon, probably by the bunglers at HRW or AI.

Only British directors could goof this one up.  Filmed on location in Idlib, watch how the illustrious White Helmets prepare an actor for the horrors of being buried alive.   The CIA could not have done a worse job.  Read Brandon’s article on the subject:

Zaynab Al-Husni seen in a photo taken after she was beheaded, strangled, raped, butchered  and skinned alive by Assad’s thugs.  Well, it didn’t quite turn out that way seeing she absconded from her home because her brothers were out to get her for some personal transgression.  In any case, Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International got on the Humiliation Bandwagon with this corker of a story.  You could see the NYT also on the same bandwagon.

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/10/06/world/middleeast/woman-believed-killed-by-syrian-forces-turns-up-on-tv.html

Well, folks, its like summertime reruns.  The same old rehash of the self-same tired narratives we have been watching for the last six years.  I just don’t have the gumption to regurgitate the worn out mantras used by the prostituted Western press about Assad’s this, or Assad’s that – it’s become too enervating.  But, when the president of the U.S. falls for this folderol, you know you’ve got a serious problem.

I remember back in 2013 when the propaganda machine run by MI6 in Syria bungled another story.  You see, they were trying to label Assad’s militias and intelligence services as cruel henchmen.  They aimed to do this by showing Assad’s men burying “honest”, “decent” and “well-meaning” reporters alive.  They rehearsed the scene so much that some people managed to sneak the tapes out and you could actually see them repeatedly burying the same person alive ad nauseam.

And there were the professional liars who could have done in serious news celebrities had it not been for the curious social and sexual status of the victim.  In this case, we are talking about Anderson Cooper who was so mesmerized by the acting abilities of Danny Abdul-Dayem that you could vicariously feel the perverse attraction between the 2 men – an obscene, lip-smacking, nay, orgiastic spectacle only sodomites and pederasts can possibly appreciate.  There was “Danny the Syrian”, a British citizen with an accent indicating a privileged upbringing, who, because of his raw courage and righteousness, his insistence on justice and dignity, found his way to war-torn Syria to chronicle the excesses of Assad’s military machine.  Huddled amongst modest, kerchiefed women, he blasted the regime which was purportedly indiscriminately bombing city centers, killing innocent civilians by the handful, pummeling anything that smacked of resistance to his cruel rule; his reign of terror; his archetypal republic of vampirism and slavery.  Why, he was so sincere, it is amazing nobody nominated him for some Nobel prize, a la the White Helmets.

Image result for danny abdul dayem

No, Danny did not receive any prizes after it was revealed he was nothing more than a career flim-flam man who was selected by MI6 to act out a scenario conjured up by some screenwriter contracted to the infamous British spook agency to make Assad look really bad.  Oooooooh.  Danny met his end, not by a bullet to the head, which would have been our preferred method of removing him from the tv screen.  No.  He met his end when some good soul transported a video Danny was filming of Syrian Army artillery shellacking the area where he was supposedly hiding (in Homs) and which showed him clearly giving directions to a crew of cameramen, sound men and special effects coordinators.  It was hilarious.  Even more evocative, was Anderson Cooper’s questioning him about that scene.  Danny just couldn’t give a decent answer.  Exeunt.

Nowhere in history has this level of propaganda been used so repeatedly in order to oust the sitting president of a member state of the U.N.  No other place!  Sure, Dr. Goebbels was a brilliant propagandist who managed to electrify Germans during WWII, but his ornate lying was not directed solely at one leader of another country in order to enflame its masses to rise up and destroy their own country.  Even Iraq, during George W. Bush’s days, was subjected only to one theme:  the possession of banned WMDs.  In Syria we have much more than CW as a target for perseverative lying in the Western Media.  We are watching the evolution of a complex, interwoven, coordinated and continuous pattern of obstinate adherence to a set of thematic targets which admit no other alternatives.  Once a reporter breaks from the accepted theme, he or she is blackballed and relegated to the “independent alternative media”.  Congresswoman, Tulsi Gabbard, a two-tour Army veteran of the Iraq War,  had her patriotism impugned by a Democratic party member because she stood up for international law and the demands of her own Constitution.  One can only imagine the suffering Richard Black endures when he weighs in intelligently on the subject.

Ph.D. theses will be written about the nomenclature devised by the Western Press with guidance by the CIA, NSA, MI6, Turk MIT, Zionist Mossad, Saudi, Qatari and Jordanian General Intelligence Services and the French DGSE.  Suddenly, groups like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, are labeled “rebels” as though Chechen terrorists fighting against Dr. Assad’s government were “rebelling” against his rule.  It didn’t matter to the prostitutes in New York whether the “rebels” were Syrian or not.  What mattered was the promotion of a narrative which ascribed to terrorists the characteristics of a people fighting for dignity and freedom against a coarse, oligarchical tyranny represented by the Assad family.  The Western Press refused to even refer to the terrorists as “militants” because that might shake the carefully constructed image of a band of moderate freedom fighters locked in battle with a despotic regime.

The word “regime” was used so often to challenge the legitimacy of Dr. Assad’s presidency that it started a wave of tit-for-tat responses in readers’ comments.  I would read the angry responses to typically propagandistic articles with phrases such as “the Obama regime” or the “Hollande regime”.  You could tell people were picking up on the “neo-con terminology of choice” and were punching it straight back at the prostituted authors of these deplorably shabby articles.

Opposition members in Europe were rarely, if ever, outed as rented mercenaries working for the rag-headed Arabians of KSA, the UAE or Qatar.  No way!  Not one reporter ever wondered who was paying for the 5 star hotels in which these mostly failed exiles lived.  The Fake News Media never mentioned to a single reader that they were completely disconnected from the terrorists who ruled some streets during the onset of the insurrection.  Names were bandied about with no explanation of how or why they had some special characteristic that singled them out for celebrity or popularity in their own country.  Some exiled opposition members were completely ridiculous:  George Sabra who was showcased, at first,  because he was supposedly a Christian was an emcee on a children’s program in Damascus.  He was essentially a clown with no experience in politics.  On top of that, the authors of these lame-brained articles did not tell the readers that this pious Christian was, in truth, a rabid atheist and communist.  Others, like Ghassan Hitto, a Kurd, have not been to Syria for over 30 years having dodged the draft and relocated to Texas.  Still, others like Khaled Khoja, were not even Syrians – Khoja is a Turk.  Another, who was inextricably tied to the Saudis, was Ahmad Jarba, a scion of the Shammar tribe of Syria who was a convicted pimp, swindler and procureur.  You never got to read that in the Western Press.

The consistency in the reportage is the most telling clue of all.  Once might ask himself or herself, how is it that the NYT, the WP, WSJ, PBS, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, Jerusalem Post, Al-Jazeera, Al-‘Arabiyya, BBC, Christian Science Monitor, and the rest, all present with the same reporting?  How can that happen without an agenda laid out in purple prose directing the news media to follow in lockstep with the scenario spelled out for them by the intelligence services mentioned in the foregoing?  It seems almost surreal.  The only explanation is that the Deep State, or some very powerful cabal of billionaires, or, maybe, governments, sent out their messengers to blackmail these news organs:  “You’ll follow this plan or you won’t ever get to the White House.”  Perhaps, they were bought by promises of special treatment at Whitehall, the Department of State, the Quai D’Orsay, or the German Auswaartiges Amt.  That crucial scoop which makes reporters salivate was held in front of them like bait for a ravenous wolf.  Or, maybe,  the Western News Media is under the control of the International Zionist Movement.  All I know is that there is a programmatic character to the way the corporate media presents the news on Syria.

Remember the exciting episode when Richard Engel was kidnapped?  I sure do. This dyslexic ultramaroon and uber-Zionist was reportedly detained and kidnapped by “pro-Assad shabiha militiamen” when he was traveling in Syria illegally with a crew of boner-heads.  Why, as soon as he was released through some purported interventions, 5 days after the event, he went on the Today Show and proudly denounced President Assad’s thugs as the perpetrators.  Well, once again, we have a story, which, interestingly, in this case was exposed by the NYT.  It turns out that Engel’s story just didn’t add up.  And, as it turned out, Mr. Engel, a lapdog for Zionist katsas and assorted fairy tale writers,  admitted his story was wrong.  He was kidnapped by the heroic FSA, or some group affiliated with America’s darling “rebels”.

http://money.cnn.com/2015/04/16/media/richard-engel-nbc-news/

Besides the lying from Engel, what was even more involving was the fact that both NBC News and Vanity Fair, both of which ran orotund reports about the ordeal and the evil of Assad would not publish retractions.  Embarrassed to au plus haut point, they would not revisit the issue hoping their readers would live out their lives believing Dr. Assad’s blackguards were still responsible.  We, at SyrPer, still argue that the whole episode was deliberately skewed to bamboozle the American viewer.

And does anybody remember the Der Spiegel reporter, Erich Follath,  who came up with one of the most bombastic lies in the history of propaganda.  Yes. That’s the one who disseminated a lie so incredible that even his own principals wouldn’t kite it beyond the first publication.  According to this birdbrain, Syria has a second and third nuclear weapons facility, this time, not on the Euphrates near the abandoned village of Al-Kibar, but, across the breast of Syria at Al-Qusayr, on the Lebanese border.  The article is gut-wrenchingly funny and should be read by all my friends:

http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/evidence-points-to-syria-still-working-on-a-nuclear-weapon-a-1012209.html

You see his logic?  Iran, a powerful regional player with industrial capabilities, took decades to get its nuclear program rolling.  But, we Syrians, are such geniuses that we are able to have a kit to build a nuclear weapon with just one North Korean scientist.  And all this is being done in an area which used to be controlled by terrorists!  You have got to now believe that there is no redemption for these hacks in the West.  And by the way, the uranium found at Al-Kibar  by U.N. inspectors turned out to be from the missiles fired by the Zionist bombers.  There was no reactor there, only a factory for rockets after a tragic disaster at another factory in Aleppo.

But, look at the fervor!  American and Western politicians are so determined to get President Assad that they have turned into feral, rabid monsters.  John McCain for one, is so involved in the effort, he huffed-and-puffed his way out of a meeting between Syrian Christian priests who were lobbying Washington to stop attacking their leader.  He could not sit while these clerics pushed the narrative that Dr. Assad protected minorities.  I have already written about the fact that McCain has been promised millions of dollars by the Saudis as the Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.  He is looking at a massive fortune. The same was true of Hollande and Cameron – both miserable sycophantish coprophiliacs to the unctuous and soiled boors of Arabia. The whole pot of fandangle built on a promise of lucre in exchange for a Brobdingnagian constellation of pure mendacity.  Shame has no place in the company of these charlatans – they wouldn’t know it if they saw it.

These lies have brought Syria to ruin.  The people of Syria have been tortured by lies.  There should be a criminal charge for lying that causes so much agony.  The perpetrators of the lies should spend their lives in a jar like the Sybil of Cumae.  When asked what she wanted, the Sybil responded, “I want to be dead”. That’s what I want for all these criminals.  Ziad

Swedish Doctors Charge White Helmets with Medical Malpractice and Abuse of Children

[ Ed. note – How far and to what lengths would those backing terrorists in Syria go in trying to achieve their objectives? Would it include drugging, and perhaps even killing, innocent children for the purpose of making propaganda videos? The answer to that seems to be yes if we go by the conclusions of Swedish medical experts who have examined a White Helmets video. You can go here to read an article by Prof Marcello Ferrada de Noli, chairman of the Swedish Doctors for Human Rights, and here to read about the group’s findings in a commentary published today at 21st Century Wire. Below is an excerpt from the latter. ]

21st Century Wire

The White Helmets. The biggest propaganda heist in the six year history of the dirty war against Syria is unraveling. The glamour of an Oscar is not enough to disguise the sordid details of the White Helmet ties to Al Qaeda (Nusra Front in Syria) and various other extremist, atrocity committing groups embedded in Syria by the NATO and Gulf state regimes. No amount of money laundering is going to wash their image clean after the latest series of reports from Swedish Doctors for Human Rights, exposing macabre, medical malpractice and suspected use of drugged or dead children as props in a propaganda campaign to unseat the Syrian government and to destabilize an entire nation & its people.

Video: A Peek Inside the White Helmets’ former HQ in E. Aleppo

Turns out that the two buildings housing the central headquarters for the White Helmets and Al-Nusra were located adjacent to each other in Eastern Aleppo–and that both were just a short walk from the M10 hospital, a facility formerly pronounced “destroyed” by the mainstream media (though it is in fact still standing, as the video shows).

The video above offers a look inside all three buildings, but the walk through the White Helmets domicile is particularly interesting…lots of graffiti, including support of ISIS. Well hardly surprising–but still interesting to see.

Pierre Le Corf

The video was filmed by Pierre Le Corf, who has been doing humanitarian work in Syria and who is also the founder of the organization We Are Super Heroes. According to his Linked-in profile, his work in Aleppo has included providing first aid training for youth and adults. In his walk through the White Helmets building, he pauses at a second-floor window–at which point the camera looks out…at the Al-Nusra headquarters and the M10 hospital, both practically within spitting distance.

The White Helmets, you’ll recall, were nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize last year. They didn’t get it. But a Netflix documentary about them did get an Oscar at the Academy Awards. Meanwhile the media go on extolling them as saintly humanitarians. Here is what CBS reported just over a week ago:

Some of last week’s Oscar winners did not attend the ceremony because they were saving lives in Syria. The White Helmets are showing the best of humanity in the worst of places.

The White Helmets did on Monday what they always do — racing to the aftermath of a deadly airstrike to pull civilians and bodies from the rubble.

Business as usual in the hellish chaos of Syria’s civil war, where Syrian regime and Russian airstrikes destroy neighborhoods.

21st Century Wire has posted a commentary on Le Corf’s video–a commentary which also gives a perspective on the White Helmets, though one slightly different from that churned out by CBS. Here is an excerpt:

During the liberation of East Aleppo from Nusra Front-led extremists, Le Corf recorded events on a daily basis, including tireless evidence gathering of the terrorist mortar attacks that decimated entire neighbourhoods of West Aleppo and maimed and mutilated thousands of children – largely unreported by western NATO aligned media and NGOs.

After liberation, Le Corf has been returning to the liberated areas of East Aleppo and investigating the evidence left behind by the departing terrorist groups and their “civil defence”, the NATO and Gulf state, multi million dollar funded, White Helmets who did not stay behind to assist with the civilian refugees but departed with Nusra Front, Harakat Nour al Din Zinki and other extremist groups responsible for civilian executions, torture, abuse, deprivation, starvation and rape during the almost five year occupation of East Aleppo.

In the video (above), Le Corf films the Nusra Front terrorist compound, the M10 hospital that was allegedly bombed according to the corporate media reports during November and December 2016, and finally he films inside the largest White Helmet centre in East Aleppo located inside the Nusra Front compound, in fact directly opposite Nusra Front. The Nusra Front flags and extremist graffitti inside the White Helmet centre are further proof of their affiliation to the various terrorist and extremist groups.

The article then supplies a lengthy quote from Sheila Coombes, whose Facebook page can be found here. I’ll quote just a bit of what she had to say. You can go to the 21 Wire page to read it in full:

There were NO international aid organisations on the ground in East Aleppo prior to the liberation, all of the mainstream media reporting was written, and in the case of the White Helmets, filmed, by terrorists & armed extremists and spoon fed to lazy mainstream media regime-change tools. Forget the BBC, forget Channel 4, forget CNN, NBC, the holier than thou and deadly as sin Guardian, the Independent and the do gooders, bombing for democracy and freedom, the blood they have on their hands will not wash off – and the pompous idiots who condemn anyone who questions their narrative are complicit in stifling dissent for these enablers of death and destruction.

I wonder how the media would explain what is revealed in Le Corf’s video–namely that the headquarters of Al-Nusra and the headquarters of the White Helmets were located basically just across a courtyard from each other? I don’t suppose CBS or the others would even attempt to go there.

White Helmets Fail to Get Nobel Prize

I guess the people who vote on the Nobel “Peace” Prize were a little squeamish about handing the award over to the White Helmets this year. The discussion in the above video, as well as the report presented in the lower one, will shed some light on why that might be. Just for the record, the prize went to the president of Columbia.

The Saker

September 15, 2016

by Paul Matthews

It is in the Book of Proverbs (16:18) of the Hebrew Bible that we may find the locution : Pride comes before a fall. The following report chronicles and contextualizes events and chapters in the saga of a post WWII world under an improvident leadership of Uncle Sam and argues that there is always a good reason to hope even in a period of undiminished gloom. As the freak show of the US presidential election unfolds in the self-reflected glare of the mainstream press and TV, the signs are that partisans of the Zionist Power bloc have finally met their match in the ‘odd couple’ of Vladimir and Bashar.

The heroic struggle of the Syrians commands respect. Bearing in mind the need to avoid the pitfall of idolatry, nobody in their right mind would query the force of character or moral authority of Iran’s Supreme Leader, ‘living martyr’ Ali Khamenei and his Lebanese protegé, Hezbollah’s General Secretary Hassan Nasrallah. They are assuredly the spiritual guides of their respective peoples. Yet outside their nations they would seem to lack the undoubted charisma of the Russian and Syrian heads of state who figuratively and, in the latter’s case, physically, stand head and shoulders above their peers,

One has to be destitute of vision not to see through NATO’s Partnership for Peace initiative by whose obscurantist credentials politicians are provided with a licence to kill ‘extra judicially’ on behalf of the central banking system ie those ‘ finance houses, debt merchants and investment banks’ that seek to straitjacket, downsize, enslave humanity and plunder the planet in tune with their ideological mix of zombie economics and voodoo capitalism.

A fatal combination of Jewish hubris and American exceptionalism has left the Chosen People and their Gentile friends in high places ill-prepared to counter the immense popularity and esteem which these two statesmen and their countrymen have earned for themselves, notably in the eyes of so many ordinary US and EU citizens. By contrast, as agents of the militaro-industrial complex of a military alliance visibly in decline, the lying politicians and media anchors supportive of Zion have reached a level of ignominy beneath contempt. This narrative proceeds in several phases …

Readers may be familiar with the above article. It showed how special interest groups exercise their lobbying power by usurping the functions of the judiciary and hijacking the prestige attached to the Nobel Prize system to promote activities detrimental to humanity and world peace. The forces thereby unleashed implement what are essentially odious policies of the central banking system that seeks to mould or anaesthetise public opinion, paralyse dissent and induce a popular sense of fatalism : telling us that, for example, while the Diary of Anne Frank is apparently acknowledged by experts to be a scientifically proven forgery, one can be accused – on a trumped up charge – of antisemitism and unlawfully prosecuted, fined or sent to prison for saying so in public.

A discriminatory pro-Israel, ‘Jews only’, neoliberal discourse monopolizes the political culture of the USA, its EU client states and other satellites. We learn from Robert Faurisson that Elie Wiesel and Simon Wiesenthal heartily detested one another and that the latter was as big a storyteller as the former. Tom Segev, a biographer of Simon Wiesenthal, explains how Wiesel, Wiesenthal and the Klarsfeld family competed with one another for public attention. Bickering among the divas is part of the act. Notoreity and celebrity are assets to ensure that the spotlight seldom wavers from the business of driving home the message concerning Jewish victimhood and to distract us from considering more fundamental subjects affecting negatively a much wider public interest.

Characterised in August 2003 by Justin Raimondo as an ‘intellectual street-walker’, hyper-sophist Ilana Mercer, née Isaacson, in her March 2003 article “The Jewish Connection” argues deceptively that GW Bush’s ‘vision’ for US intervention in the Middle East was in place before September 11, 2001 and that he was not ‘snookered into his power-hungry, messianic mania by a Jewish coterie’. She conveniently belittles the rôle of the 1997 ‘think tank’ Project for a New American Century (PNAC) and another 1996 ‘study group’ led by Richard Perle. It produced for Benjamin Netanyahu – the then Prime Minister of Israel – the seminal ‘policy document’ A Clean Break : A New Strategy for Securing the Realm. (q.v.) She similarly overlooks the existence of an even earlier Jewish Israeli blueprint for regional – prior to global – hegemony : the 1982 Oded Yinon Plan (q.v.).

It would also have been less disingenuous for her to admit to the formative influence and opportunism of a piece in the September 1990 issue of The Atlantic Magazine from the ‘orientalist’ and leading Anglo-Zionist, Bernard Lewis. It coins for the first time the expression ‘Islamic fundamentalists’ and popularises the socially divisive term ‘clash of civilizations‘ first used by Albert Camus in 1946. With the end of the Cold War visibly in sight, a newer big business friendly leadership model was required to (a) sustain the existence of an otherwise defunct NATO war machine and to (b) protect Israel. Fiercely opposed by Edward Said – a ‘public intellectual and pioneer of the study of post-colonialism’ – the gung ho British-American historian who is a ‘specialist’ in imperialist ‘oriental studies’ – and his pupil Samuel P Huntington – provide the wherewithal to fill the vacuum created by the collapse of the USSR even as the back room boys are busy concocting their new ‘Pearl Harbour’.

Why the river of Gentile blood from Pol Pot to ISIS never dried within a depotic ‘Free World’ matrix

«The ultimate cause of evil lies in the interaction of two human factors: (1) normal human ignorance and weakness and (2) the existence and action of a statistically small (4-8 per cent of the general population) but extremely active group of psychologically deviant individuals. The ignorance of the existence of such psychological differences is the first criterion of ponerogenesis. That is, such ignorance creates an opening whereby such individuals can act undetected». Political Ponerology Andrzej Łobaczewski (1921-2008) http://www.ponerology.com/evil_2b.html

In theology, ponerology (from Greek ponéros, πονηρός, “evil”) is the study of evil. It is related to the word “ponos” πόνος, which means pain. Political ponerology is an interdisciplinary study of issues connected with the genesis of evil on a macro-social level primarily associated with Polish psychiatrist Andrzej Łobaczewski. He was one of the founders of this anthropological discipline utilising data from psychology, sociology, history and philosophy to account for such phenomena as aggressive war, ethnic cleansing, genocide and despotism.

A test case for the scholarly scrutiny of evil genius is to be found in the ghastly example set by the exceedingly influential German born American diplomat and political scientist Henry Kissinger, né Heinz Alfred Kissinger. Despite the academic aura the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize winner has skilfully cultivated over the years, this is the ‘US peacemaker-cum-serial killer’ who, as US National Security Adviser (1969-1975) and US Secretary of State (1973-1977), oversaw the escalation of the socio-ecocidal Operation Ranch Hand (1962-1971) on the farmland acres and forests of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, the coordination of the twenty-two long years of Operación Cóndor/Operação Condor (1968-1980) in Latin America and of Operation Menu-Freedom Deal (1969-1973) when the US Strategic Air Command’s B52s dropped the equivalent of five Hiroshimas on rural Cambodia.

Highlights of the post 19th century concept of total war include the dropping of the uranium-based Little Boy and the plutonium-based Fat Man respectively on Hiroshima and Nagasaki – with the latter device wiping out most of Japan’s rather small Christian community – and the firebombing of Dresden, Hamburg and Tokyo.

Again featuring the massive use of napalm, under the aegis of the United Nations, the carpet bombing of North Korea destroyed an estimated 75 per cent of the urban centres and killed 20 per cent of the civilian population.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki cast a long shadow and without the Jews and their collective psychosis the design and manufacture of the Manhattan Project would probably have been impossible. In the wake of Suez, the 1956 Protocol of Sèvres awarded the Jewish state the wherewithal to build its own nuclear arsenal. Conveniently the ever contrite Germany offered Israel the means of an offshore nuclear second strike capability. The first two of the Dolphin class submersibles (Dolphin and Leviathan) were fully donated by Chancellor Helmut Kohl and the third (Tekumah) received a 50 per cent subsidy. A submarine-launched cruise missile (SLCM) tipped with a 200-kilogramme nuclear warhead containing up to 6 kilogrammes of plutonium provides an argument which reinforces significantly the type of pressure that previously was applied by a mere accusation of ‘antisemitism’.

SLCMs have a range of at least 1,500 km, bringing them within spitting distance of Western Asia, Southern Europe and North Africa. In 2010 a former Professor of Jerusalem’s Hebrew University brought this unpleasant truth home to Europeans. Dutch-born Doctor Martin Van Creveld, a world specialist in low-intensity wars, then suggested that were Europe to oppose the transfer of Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, in order to survive Tel Aviv would be forced to destroy the European capitals with nuclear weapons, it being decided that EU member states would be unable to retaliate without annihilating their ‘Palestinian friends’. He added that, while in 2008, only 7 or 8 per cent of Israelis were of the opinion that the mass transfer of Arabs would be the best solution, two years later, according to a Gallup poll, the figure was 44 per cent. The radical swing to the extreme right in Israel is confirmed by Netanyahu’s March 2015 re-election. Already in 2014, a former speaker of the Knesset, Moshe Feiglin was unhesitatingly proposing to expel the Palestinians from Gaza into the Sinai.

He who pays the piper calls the tune. But no-one wants to face the music. Élitist ‘deep state security’ politics is about puppeteers projecting power via proxy wars and an utter disregard for human life orchestrated worldwide by the likes of BHL, Bernard Kouchner and all their friends in high places. Zionist Power Configuration people need ISIS and won’t see their brainchild easily defeated. No one is exempted from whatever violence ensues to serve solely the central banking system’s core interests. Evil afflicts believers and non-believers alike. Be they Buddhists, Moslems, Christians, Jews. devotees of other folk, traditional, shamanist, natural belief systems.

How Syria’s ‘weakest link’ survived to become a pillar of strength towering over his enemies

«Absolutely nothing predestined this – shy in temperament – doctor (he trained as an ophthalmologist in St Mary’s Hospital, Marylebone, London NDLR) to face, twenty years later, the united forces of what in the 1940s went under the incomplete term of “global or international Jewry” (in reality Zionism) and its influential Arab allies from the Persian Gulf, at the head of a very modest ‘Third World’ army and, at the moment. its survival is due to a fragile set of strategic alliances with China, Iran and Russia. The man at the head of a small country called the weakest link, finds herself unwillingly, struggling with the same formidable forces that sparked the great 1914-1918 slaughter and triggered the Second World War of 1939 -1945. Strange fate».

Purportedly the oligarchy’s strategists always go for the jugular and that implies seeking out the weak spots in any adversary’s defence mechanisms. In the recent article published with the title Le maillon le plus faible (Cf. supra) one can observe the photo of a tall and gangling 29 year-old Capitain Bashar Al-Assad taken in 1994, at about the time of the death in a car crash of his elder brother Bassel and six years before his father’s death in 2000, when he took over the reins of power and started timidly to reform, then resist with tenacity as Damascus became the target of moves to destabilise his country and unseat him. These took the form of US-led sanctions and a bid to smear first the Syrian president, then Hezbollah and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by trying to implicate them in the 14 February 2005 murder of Rafic Hariri and 22 other people near the St. George Hotel in Beirut.

Given the retracted testimony, the flimsy, doctored evidence and the would be internationally sponsored UN inquiry thoroughly discredited by bias, Thierry Meyssan in his 29 November 2010 article, first published in Odnako, (q.v.) argues convincingly the case for the involvement of Mossad and Germany. A scenario becoming even clearer when one poses the question cui bono ? regarding the assassination of the former, Saudi friendly, Lebanese premier. The answer comes swiftly on the heels the inquisitor, with the so-called Cedar Revolution, an anti-Syrian alliance, resulting in the complete withdrawal of Syrian troops from Lebanon on 27 April 2005.

Successive attempts have been made to tighten the noose around the neck of all elements friendly to Iran or the Shias – starting with the Arab Socialist Ba’ath Party in Syria and the region’s other two, multi-confessional cum secular, non-aligned nations, namely the Lebanese and Iraqi republics – crowned by the London plot hatched in 2009 to overthrow the Syrian government – as testified by France’s former Foreign Affairs Minister, Roland Dumas, invited to join the conspiracy. Syria has been thrown under a bus, just like Saddam Hussein’s Iraq and Muammar Gaddafi’s Libya. Since the invasion by cut throat foreigners of this beautiful land, Bashar Al-Assad’s moral stature has grown – as has his people’s loyalty to their president – for they see lucidly the fate reserved for them by those bankrolling the élites of Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Qatar, Turkey, France, Britain and the USA.

Like the Syrians, the Russians are under no illusions. Their situation is best summed up by a Russian born Jew who reportedly converted to Orthodox Christianity and writes under the alias, or pen name, of Israel Shamir :

«The DNC 2016 reminded me of The Triumph of the Will, the paradigmatic film of Leni Riefenstahl. Thefiery oration of “four-star general of the Marine Corps” General (retired) Allen, ready to kick ass of the Russkies, flag-waving, hysterical rhythmical shouts Uoo-eS-Ay, runaway aggressiveness, military pomp and above all exceptionalism of “America is great because America is good”; the United States as an “indispensable, transformational power in the world,” the poisonous mix of Uber Alles and Manifest Destiny fits like a glove to the matrix established at the 1934 Nazi Party rally in Nuremberg, Germany. There similarity ends : the Demo version is all for the bankers and against the workers, while the Nazis called themselves “the workers party” and spoke against financial capital. The Nazis said they were for the family and the majority, the Dems say they do not care for workers’ votes, as they have enough votes from feminists and queers. And the Jews are now for, rather than against. The Jewish news agency JTA described General (ret) Allen fire-breathing delivery as “the Jewish moment at DNC … to further reassure the security hawks in the Jewish community” as he promised that “our armed forces will be stronger”. Bill Clinton came with a button saying Hillary in Hebrew, mobilising the Jewish community for Clinton and war […]

In words of Jeffrey Sachs, “Hillary is the candidate of Wall Street. Even more dangerous, though, is that she is the candidate of the military-industrial complex supporting every war demanded by the US deep security state run by the military and the CIA.” And now she and her party set their sights on Russia. The Russians have no say in this decision: they were formally appointed to the high post of The Enemy of the Empire, and this appointment requires no agreement of the victim. Why were the Russians chosen? Who else fits the bill ? The US war machine needs an enemy, and the world is not that large. Europe is subdued and occupied. China is too big, India is too soft, the Arabs are too small. Japan was fitted for an enemy in early Nineties, but surrendered. Putin perfectly understood the US war machine’s search for an enemy when he proposed to Americans at the UN they fight the Islamic State together with Russia. This nefarious Islamic State remains a possibility that will have to do, meanwhile, but for a greater and more serious enemy, able to attract nice budgets, Russia suits best. Russia has an additional charm: it is a successor state to the USSR, that was the designated enemy for the West for a long time, until 1991. Thus it is a traditional enemy. Hillary as a Goldwater Girl supported the most warlike Russia-hating candidate, and apparently she still remembers the thrill. It is true that Russia’s enemy status had been explained by the satanic nature of godless communism, and this explanation is as dead as a dodo, but explanations are not reasons, they are secondary rhetorical devices. The reason is the need for an enemy so the war budget will grow nicely and keep generals and weapon manufacturers in the lifestyle they are accustomed to…». The Reluctant Enemy by Israel Adam Shamir 4 August 2016http://www.unz.com/ishamir/the-unwilling-enemy/ /// http://plumenclume.org/blog/146-l-ennemi-malgre-lui.

Megalomaniac Zbigniew Brzezinski spoke in April 2016 of realigning the global power architecture

Not everyone enjoys the privilege of being a ‘Reluctant Enemy’. A mother of battles rages in Aleppo where lists of casualties mount. The Saker community is conscious of the sacrifices forced on and already made by Syrians and their allies. Blowback time for the EU from the Syrian and Ukrainian theatres proceeds apace with not a whisper from official media outlets whose soporific editorial line alternates with the need to maximize fear or panic and create the impression that violence is spiralling out of control. Kiev’s gunmen sought to infiltrate Crimea. Terrorists in NATO’s other spheres of influence get a free or helping hand from private ‘national’ state security services, working jointly with, or under the command of, Mossad’s sayanim. Europeans and Americans must pull up their socks if the “shaitans” (شياطين demons) and their Israeli handlers are to be rooted out chez eux.

‘Red in tooth and claw’, a stalemated EU-US combo snatches defeat from the jaws of victory

«… We need to have some sense that Assad is on the way out. There can be a transition ; but it needs to be clear that he is not part of Syria’s future. Until that happens – until that begins – until there is acknowledgement of that transition – we are going to have Syrians dying – continuing to die. Because many of them are trying to reclaim their country, for the good of Syria’s future, but many of them want Syria to be the safe haven for terrorists. So I don’t know whether or not Syria can be put back together again … ». WORLD NEWS | ASPEN INSTITUTE | Friday July 29, 2016 10:10pm EDT CIA chief Brennan not optimistic about Syria’s future as one country : http://www.reuters.com/article/us-mideast-crisis-syria-cia-idUSKCN1092PV?Il=0.

“Assad must go”. The same old tune. The senior American government official’s lietmotif – in a keynote speech at Washington’s Aspen Security Forum in late July 2016 – echo hasbara spouted in March earlier this year by academic James Stavridis, a retired four-star US Navy admiral and former NATO supreme allied commander.

To the effect that, like Humpty Dumpty in the children’s nursery rhyme, the odds of putting Syria back together again – as a functioning entity – appear low enough to consider partitioning the country once and for all. Lies.

On the contrary, what has been an Israeli wet dream since the 1982 Oded Yinon Plan is as far from coming to pass as the bid to erase Palestine from the collective memory of Arab speakers, be they Christian or Muslim.

Summer 2016 climaxed with state sponsored terrorism spilling over from Ukraine, Afghanistan, the Middle East and Asia Minor onto the streets of France, as tidings from trigger happy Police State America peppered the dystopian narrative and the airwaves were congested with a ludicrous manufactured outcry over the ‘burkini’.

With the memory of the dead in Nice – some decapitated – fresh in their minds, French people learn of the grisly murder during the July 2016 Aleppo offensive of a 12 year old Palestinian child Abdullah Tayseer Al Issa by a US backed Nour al-Din al-Zinki Movement. The current trail of some Israeli, but mostly Arab, blood spilled in a Jewish ‘power projection’ exercise is traceable to the death by fire of three members of the Dawabsheh family when their home in the West Bank village of Duma was torched by Jews in July 2015 and to the extrajudicial killing of 18 year old Hadeel al-Hashlamoun by the IDF at an army checkpoint in Hebron in September 2015.

In neighbouring Syria and Lebanon, resistance to the messianic “Hatikvah” agenda comes at a fearful cost in human and environmental terms of people slain and wounded, livelihoods and infrastructure wrecked. However politically and militarily, informational warfare is the key. The war for hearts and minds has been lost from the

Maghreb to the Mashreq. Obscene wealth concentration rots Europe’s, Israel’s and the USA’s social fabric.

So the protracted effort to enforce this ideological mantra of removing from office the Syrian republic’s legally elected president reminds us of the paradigm of the immovable object confronted with an allegedly unstoppable force – itself a paradox. To the extent that instead of beholding just a badly fractured and mutilated Syria, public opinion glimpses the diabolically flawed and irremediably fissured Atlanticist edifice. Le ver est dans le fruit.

Joe Biden demands from Serbia an allegiance to NATO that is offensive to all self respecting Serbs. To pacify ‘a disruptive citizenry’ Britain’s security forces suppress anti-fracking protests while, over the Channel, depleted of the means to police thousands of migrants endangering the lives of road hauliers, Calais resembles a war zone.

All’s grist to the mill when sowing discord and fomenting strife to enslave and spoliate others. Heeding history’s lessons means acknowledging the racially driven mindset of a mainly Ashkenazi intelligentsia, whose ‘culture’, ‘inventiveness’ and ‘social skills’ reflect the merciless chauvinism rooted in Jewish supremacism and Talmudic vengeance that fathered both Bolshevism and the tribal enterprise of Zion. In Syria the jury’s still out as pundits scratch their heads over Recep Erdoğan’s game. The world’s fate hangs in the balance and France’s finest legal minds discuss the pros and cons of banning modesty from the beach. For more news from the French banana republic, tune in to Panamza and Egalité et Renconciliation online – des mines d’or d’information subversive.

In the face of death threats both websites depict honestly a slice of life ‘beyond the pale’, ‘outside the bubble’ ‘scripted’ for us by a certifiable, criminally insane, terrorist minority culpable of a violent and suffocatingly long foreign occupation of Arab lands and attacks on the dignity and safety of defenceless civilians the world over.

Nobel ‘Peace’ Prize to Go to Syrian Terrorist Group?

[ Ed. note – Would it surprise us all that much if the Nobel Peace Prize went to a terrorist group this year? Steve Lendman has published a commentary about the Syrian White Helmets, supposed gallant rescuers of children, being singled out for a Nobel prize nomination. Lendman refers to the White Helmets as a “terrorist organization,” and judging from the video above he may have a point.

He also, as you will see, discusses the “debauched” tradition of awarding Nobel Peace Prizes to warmakers. Whether the “debauchery” will continue this year remains to be seen, but somebody seems to be going to rather extraordinary lengths to promote the White Helmets. The New York Times has published a story about a group of celebrities who have signed onto a petition urging the Nobel Committee to award the prize to the putative humanitarians, while the BritishTelegraph is telling readers about the “heartfelt plea” made on behalf of these Syrian “heroes” by former MP Jo Cox before her murder earlier this year. And if that’s not enough, Netflix has produced a documentary on the White Helmets set for release on Friday, September 16:

The documentary, at least if the trailer is any indication, could have been–and possibly was–produced in Hollywood.

In other words, the propaganda is getting pretty hot and heavy.

In addition to the excerpt from Lendman’s commentary below, I am also posting, just beneath it, an excerpt from an article by Eva Bartlett, who refers to the White Helmets as “props for death squads,” and who also has some interesting things to say about a recent Guardian piece airing allegations that the Syrian government dropped “chlorine bombs” on terrorist-held sections of Aleppo.

My own personal view is that being a White Helmet is not an easy job, by any means. Why, just doing this many photo shoots alone would be physically taxing, and the makeup artists probably really have their work cut out for them. ]

Terrorist Group Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

By Stephen Lendman

Nobel hypocrisy is notorious for favoring warmakers over peace champions, a rogue’s gallery of miscreants among their honorees – notably Obama, Henry Kissinger, Shimon Peres and Yitzhak Rabin.

If imperial-sponsored/al Nusra-connected misnamed Civil Defense White Helmets operating in Syria win this year, ignoble Nobel tradition will continue.
Created by Britain and America in 2013, they’re managed by James Le Mesurier, a former UK soldier and private military contractor in Dubai and Raed Saleh.

The Guardian View on Aleppo: More Western Lies About Syria

By Eva Bartlett

The Guardian pointedly chooses to disregard that the Syrian government is fighting a terrorism thrust upon the civilians of Syria by the NATO-Turkish-Gulf-Zionist alliance, including the same terrorists in eastern Aleppo which theGuardian whitewashes while portraying their White Helmets as credible ‘rescuers’, instead of US/UK-backed and financed propagandists and props for death squads.

Terrorism is daily and massively felt in Aleppo, whose over 1.5 million civilians on a daily basis are subject to a bombardment of Hell Cannon-fired explosive gas canisters, and a combination of missiles, rockets, mortars, and explosive bullets, among other foreign-supplied munitions, by the terrorists occupying eastern Aleppo, who the Syrian army is fighting.

As I wrote recently, (something the Guardian would never deign to print):

“In late April 2016, terrorists in the occupied eastern quarters of Aleppo, as well as then-occupied Beni Zaid and neighbouring districts, increased the frequency of their bombing campaigns using mortars, gas canister explosives (from household to the largest size canisters, stuffed with glass, bearings, metal shrapnel), explosive bullets, and powerful foreign-supplied rockets from high-tens to over one hundred per day on the heavily-populated areas of Aleppo secured by the Syrian state.”

Of the heightened bombardment, local doctor Nabil Antaki told me:

“Usually you don’t have just one mortar, you have a rain of mortars: ten, twenty, thirty, and more in a few hours. Many people are wounded at the same time. When ambulances bring people to the public hospital, maybe twenty or thirty people arrive at the same time. The public hospitals lack enough medical staff and equipment. So if you have ten severely wounded persons arriving at the same time at the public hospital, by the time care comes, a victim has time to die.”

In his Aleppo Medical Association office, another local physician, Dr. Zaher Buttal, read to me from his diary statistics on the terrorists’ bombardment campaign in late April/early May…

[ Additional ed. note – Interestingly, the supposedly “progressive” AJ+ channel on YouTube has joined the mainstream media and Hollywood in extolling the virtues of the White Helmets. Perhaps this is not surprising, however. AJ+ is run by Al Jazeera, headquartered in the Gulf monarchy of Qatar, and the video below is virtually indistinguishable from Western media propaganda. ]

“Dramatic Rescue! Man With Kid Runs Toward Camera!”

The “White Helmets” are part of the (anti-) Syria Campaign. “Kid rescued from rubble” is their standard shtick. They are financed with some $60+ million from your taxes by the U.S., the UK and other governments. Such money will buy a lot of good cameras and props and will pay for many actors and extras.

The “Wounded Boy In Orange Seat” – Another Staged “White Helmets” Stunt

Source

This pic is making the rounds in “western” media together with a tearful story from “activists” in a neighborhood in al-Qaeda occupied east-Aleppo.

bigger

A boy, seemingly wounded, sits quietly in a brand new, very well equipped ambulance. At a point he touches what looks like a wound on his left temple. He shows no reaction to that touch.

The two minute video (also here), from which the pic is taken, shows the boy being handed from the dark above to some person in a rescue jacket and carried into the ambulance. There he sits quietly, unattended, while several people take videos and pictures of him. One other kids, not obviously wounded, is then carried to the ambulance.

As the story is told:

Mahmoud Raslan, a photojournalist who captured the image, told the Associated Press that emergency workers and journalists tried to help the child, identified as 5-year-old Omran Daqneesh, along with his parents and his three siblings, who are 1, 6 and 11 years old.”We were passing them from one balcony to the other,” Raslan said, adding: “We sent the younger children immediately to the ambulance, but the 11-year-old girl waited for her mother to be rescued. Her ankle was pinned beneath the rubble.”

An internet search for “Mahmoud Raslan”, the claimed “photojournalist”, finds no other pictures or videos attributed to that name.

There are about 15 men standing around the scene and doing nothing. (Next to a “just bombed” site in a warzone? No fear of a double-tap strike?) At least two more men, besides the videographer, are taking pictures or videos.

Another kid is carried into the ambulance. In the background there is someone with a white helmet wearing a shirt of the U.S./UK financed “White Helmets” propaganda group.

An animated wounded man is walked towards the ambulance.

bigger

Like the boy, the man seems to have a wound at the upper head. But like the boy he is not bleeding at all. There is some red colored substance on his face but no blood is flowing. That is astonishing. When I rode ambulances as a first-responder, people with head wounds always bled like stuck pigs (they often messed up the car which I then had to clean). As WebMD notes:

Minor cuts on the head often bleed heavily because the face and scalp have many blood vessels close to the surface of the skin. Although this amount of bleeding may be alarming, many times the injury is not severe …

The amount of red colored substance on the boy and the man do not correspond to the amount one would expect from even a minor head wound. There are also no bandages applied or anything else that could have been used to stop an actual head wound from bleeding.

Compare the above to this recent picture from a boy in west-Aleppo. (No “western” media showed this boy and his suffering. He is not on “our side”.) The boy suffered a head wound after an improvised missile from al-Qaeda and its associates hit his neighborhood. He is in care, the bleeding has been stopped. The amount of blood on his body and soaked into his cloth is a multiple of that seen in the above pictures. The blood is also mixed with the other dirt on his face, not painted over. This looks like those patients in my ambulance. This looks real.

All attributes of the “boy on orange seat” scene and of the video are the same that can be found in dozens of “White Helmets” videos. It is the same theme that occurs over and over again in our picture collection Dramatic Rescue! Man With Kid Runs Towards Camera!.

I am inclined to believe that the video above is just as staged as the other “White Helmets” videos and pictures. The look of the boy’s wound is a bit more realistic than usual but the lack of bleeding, that no one attends to the boy, his non-reaction to touching the “wound” and the general setting of the video scene lets me believe that it is staged.

This new, widely distributed propaganda item comes again at a moment where al-Qaeda and its associates in Syria are in trouble. The Russian air force is hitting them in the rear area of their attack on west-Aleppo and it is hurting them badly. A “humanitarian ceasefire”, which can then be used to reorganize and resupply, is urgently needed. The propaganda helps to increase the pressure for such a demand.

Some of its sponsors want the “White Helmets” nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. The organization itse lflobbies for it on its website. Has anyone else ever done such?

bigger

Have they no shame asking themselves for the prize? This right above another version of their main corporate brand attribute, a “Dramatic Rescue! Man With Kid Runs Towards Camera!” picture. Asking for a Nobel right above another staged scene?

But why not? Obama was nothing more than a marketed product when was handed the Peace Nobel. He then bombed people in seven Muslim dominated countries to dust. There is no good reason then to not give that prize to yet another propaganda tool which also wants more war.

Then again, I find a nomination for the Academy Awards, maybe in the category of “Best Marketed Fakes”, more appropriate.

‘Let them eat precaution ?’ A recipe for social darwinism, corporate malfeasance, global terrorism …

«1 Nobel peace prize, 8 economists, 24 physicists, 33 chemists, 41 doctors» – and a partridge in a pear tree …

Israel's true friend 2015The Right Honourable Theresa May learns her lines as “Israel’s true friend”…

Her Majesty’s Government has never been a fan of the Precautionary Principle. Ever since the 23 December 1913 Federal Reserve Act and the ensuing two world wars, the magnates of the central banking system have a long established tradition of investing the lifeblood of nations in their disastrous Ponzi schemes. This is more than apparent as we sleepwalk our way towards open conflict with Russia and China and as UK and Israeli Jews jubilate over the choice of their favourite as the next British Prime Minister : a former financial consultant who, on two occasions, following in Manuel Valls’ footsteps, has pledged her undying allegiance to Zionism.

The dismal spectacle of an obsequious, flowerpot hatted Theresa May revelling in Israel’s 67th Independence Day (יום העצמאות‎‎) celebration in the heart of London at Finchley Synagogue, in April 2015, is a sure sign that Whitehall and Westminster will be throwing caution to the wind and their combined weight behind ploys to wash away sins committed in Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Ukraine etc. with more bloodletting as they devote their efforts to supporting NATO and the Jewish state’s daily ghoulish bloodfest in the Middle East.

Having read with interest the GMWatch reports on 107 Nobel laureates propagandising GM food, one could easily dwell on the moral turpitude of the snake oil salesmen and women who would have us leave our senses as they spin their treacherous web of deceit. But I will not waste too many words on the latest wheeze from the global PR Industry and the Monsanto-linked sponsorship of Golden Rice evangelists petitioning for the release to the environment of more hazardous recombinant DNA. One of them, pharmacologist and biochemist Alfred Goodman Gilman (1941-2015), would appear to have been on his deathbed when he put his signature to this underhand attack on our health, reason and dignity ! I also note that the only signatory who could be deemed an ‘authority on risk’ – namely Robert C. Merton – turns out to be co-director of American hedge fund management firm Long-Term Capital Management (LTCM) which, following the 1997 Asian financial crisis and the 1998 Russian financial crisis, lost all of its capital in less than four months ! We live in desperate times. I say this in the light of what we now know about horizontal gene transfer, dangerously compromised natural resources and what Edward Osborne Wilson, Richard Leakey and Roger Lewin write about the Holocene or Sixth Extinction.

It can be termed casuistry, deception, chicanery or dissembling. However shamelessly and deliberatelylying – to protect ‘special interest groups’ – is established practice among all who would ascend the greasy pole of our politically corrupt civilisation to the summit of what someone more knowledgeable than myself in such matters – namely sociology professor James Petras – calls the Zionist Power Configuration. As we know to our cost, we can never say with any confidence that the facts will speak for themselves, given the rate at which steps are taken to suppress them as the war mongers and gossip merchants in a big business friendly mass media work flat out to dumb down and conceal the truth. But why is the general public so easily spooked by appearances ?

Possibly people are mesmerised by the spectre of the Dr Strangeloves with their paws on the tiller of Western diplomacy. Nothing beguiles ordinary mortals more than the accoutrements of power and the paraphernalia of worldly success. Hence the bogus moral standing of the Nobel dynasty’s arms manufacturing concerns and the meretricious professorial stature of many prize winners, glaringly obvious once the 1973 Nobel Peace Prize was vouchsafed the war criminal Henry Kissinger ; a nauseous precedent hammered home by what Barack Hussein Obama and his presidency was to accomplish after he had been bequeathed the coveted trophy in 2009.

Then there’s the case of the 1986 Peace Nobelist, arch-zionist and horror storyteller Elie Wiesel whose recent death unearths again the whole sorry saga. Here’s an extract from a memorable article by Gilad Atzmon about

«the man who turned the Holocaust into a business career […] concerned only with the primacy of Jewish suffering and [who] has totally failed to transform the Holocaust into a universal message».

He continues :

«Wiesel is critical of Germany, German people and their culture. “We must not forget what civilized people once did. People raised on Kant, Fichte and Hegel. People who listened to Beethoven and read Schiller in the morning, and in the afternoon killed children and parents”. But what about those people who don’t read Kant, Fichte and Hegel, but instead read the Old Testament and Wiesel’s Shoa literature ? Do they not kill children and parents ? Do they not engage in mass killings of innocent civilians pouring white phosphorous on UNRA shelters ? Yes, they do – and for more than six decades, slightly longer than Wiesel’s Shoa …». November 04, 2012 / Gilad Atzmon http://www.gilad.co.uk/writings/elie-wiesel-on-haaretz.html.

Wiesel is German for weasel. Out of respect for the nimble witted, slender-bodied quadruped, the comparison should stop there. As for the ‘expertise’ of the world’s most famous ‘Holocaust survivor’, he is the acclaimed author of an alleged “autobiographical eye-witness report” of events in Auschwitz and Buchenwald circa 1944-1945, in a lurid text which continues to be marketed and widely interpreted as the gospel truth regarding the Nazi concentration camps. It first came to light in 1956 when an 862-page manuscript in Yiddish was brought out in Argentina as the 245-page work Un di velt hot geshvign(Translation : And the world remained silent).

French Académicien, novelist and poet François Mauriac (1952 Nobel literature prize) was instrumental in getting Les Éditions de Minuit to publish in Paris their 178 page version as La Nuit in 1958 and in 1960Hill & Wang in New York put in print a 116-page translation as Night. It is appears in 30 languages and record sales of between six and ten million copies are chronicled. However eyebrows have been raised among thoughtful scholars as to the publisher and the author’s clearly elastic understanding of what notions like ‘autobiography’ and ‘veracity’ should or may signify, especially as unambiguous signs of ‘poetic licence’ in the work remain unacknowledged, primarily by the Romanian-born American Jewish professor and political activist, himself the writer of no less than 57 books, drafted mostly in French and English. As we shall soon see, for a number of observers, the epithet impostor would not be not too strong a term to characterise an internationally honoured dignitary who like, the Blairs and Clintons, was paid lavishly for his conferences and whose mortal remains are today pushing up daisies in Sharon Gardens cemetery, Valhalla, Westchester County, New York-cite_ref-43″> State.

Alongside Steven Spielberg, Elie Wiesel was one of the ten or so, mostly Jewish, celebrities and socialites, who lost millions to the Jewish American fraudster Bernie Madoff, speculating with their life savings or money from one or other of their ‘foundations’. Late in life the person whom POTUS Obama termed ‘the conscience of the world’ was tackled over glaring discrepancies in his narrative and accused of being overly economical with the truth. He kept his counsel – to the end – apparently in denial, believing he could take his secret to the grave. However alongside the tributes and obituaries in the minutes, days and weeks following his death at his home in Manhattan, the internet has been alive with questions and remarks casting doubts on the official storyline.

The above suspicion ‘Shoah filmmaker’, Claude Lanzmann – quoted a reliable eye witness, Nobel Laureate in Literature in 2002, Hungarian Jew Imre Kertész – who survived deportation to Auschwitz and Buchenwald – to infer that Elie Weisel could not have spent more than four days and four nights in Auschwitz, before moving to Buchenwald. More compelling testimony comes from another Hungarian Jew deported to both aforementioned concentration camps. Nikolaus (Miklós) Grüner writes in his personal account ‘Stolen Identity’ that the universally famous would-be deportee born in 1928 in Sighet – a town in the Carpathian mountains of northern Transylvania – was unfamiliar with Hungarian and that, for the purposes of his ‘autobiography’, he usurped the number A-7713.

Moreover according to the Auschwitz archives themselves the number A-7713 was in fact allocated to an older man on 24 May 1944. His name : Hungarian-born Jew, Lázár Wisel (né at Marmaroasieget, Hungary, 1916). With his older brother, Abraham, he was to take the young Nikolaus (Miklós) Grüner (né 4 or 6 April 1928 at Nyiregihaza, Hungary) – then aged fifteen – under his wing. The existence, dates and places of birth of all three internees are attested by documents stored at the Polish State Museum of Auschwitz-Birkenau at Oświęcim.

Nikolaus (Miklós) Grüner had every reason to remember the number A-7713. In 1986, living in Australia, he was contacted by an employee of the Swedish magazine Sydsvenska Dagbladet in Malmö and invited to meet the latest nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize – someone named Elie Wiesel. He believed at the time that he was about to meet Lázár Wisel and rejoiced at the prospect of being reunited with his old friend. The encounter, as is customary for Nobels, took place at the grand Hôtel Savojen in Stockholm in December 1986. Miklos recalls :

«…I was very happy at the idea of meeting Lázár but when I confronted the so-called “Eli Wiesel”, I was stunned to see a man I did not recognize at all, who did not even speak Hungarian or Yiddish and instead he was speaking English in a strong French accent. Therefore our meeting was over in about ten minutes. As a goodbye gift, the man gave me his book entitled “Night” of which he claimed to be the author. I accepted the book I did not know at that time but told everyone there that this man was not the person he pretended to be !».

Elie Wiesel declined to show him the tattoo on his forearm. Yet Primo Levi writes, on page 27 of the US edition

of his indelible 1947 work, Se questo è un uomo ( ‘If this is a man’), that every prisoner had to have a tattoo :

«It seems that this is the real, true initiation : only by showing one’s number can one get bread and soup». Primo Levi If this is a man Abacus 2001

Available on Youtube in 2010, but no longer, video images of the bare armed Elie Wiesel filmed for a full-length documentary in 1996 in Romania appear to reveal no tattoo at all. So the question, never answered, remains : without a tattoo how did he survive in 1944-1945 ? It seems that the indefatigable public speaker once aired his ‘tattoo’ to an Israeli journalist, who subsequently met Nikolaus (Miklos) Grüner and who, when asked, replied that he had been unable to read the number and that he did not believe it really was a tattoo.

All of which is hotly contested by associates of Elie Wiesel, like Michaël de Saint-Cheron, who deem such testimony to amount to blasphemy, but offer no proof in support of their arguments. Instead one is regaled by displays of emotional blackmail or worse, as Italy joins the long list of NATO affiliated countries that punish ‘thought crime’ with prison sentences. Legitimate criticism of the homicidal Jewish state is thus muzzled by privately orchestrated smear campaigns, prohibitively costly SLAPP type legal actions, backstairs pressure to intimidate and stifle open public debate in favour of free speech and religious tolerance for every living soul and not just for that microscopically small minority opinion seeking to bring to heel every critic of Israel.

As the French epistemologist Lucien Cerise intimates in : Neuro-pirates – Réflexions sur l’ingénierie sociale (Kontre Kulture 2016 q.v.), evidence-based inquiry has moved on to the shifting sands of devotional faith and cultural dogma. It’s a question of who’s got the power and money to inflict the cognitive dissonance, captious reasoning, hairsplitting – the Hebrew term for which is pilpul (פלפול) from “pepper,” loosely meaning “sharp analysis” – ie what underpins the massive social-engineering daily assaulting our neuronal architecture.

It will not have escaped your attention that the gloves are off ever since Hillary Clinton declared the USA was losing the global information war in 2011. The academic climate today is replete with intellectual terrorism and diligently orchestrated psychological operations (psyops), as dissident Jews and non-Jews alike are plied with accusations of antisemitism and death threats. Having to sacrifice one’s means of livelihood, in defence of one’s views is another major risk. As evinced by the experience of Nikolaus (Miklós) Grüner himself and of Norman (Ich bin Der Stürmer ?) Finkelstein, the American Jewish political scientist, activist, professor and author whose primary fields of research are Israel’s occupation of Palestine and Holocaust politics, an interest motivated by filial intimacy with the deep moral convictions and the personal ordeals of his parents both of whom survived in the Warsaw Ghetto and periods in the Majdanek and Auschwitz concentration camps.

To get a measure of the man you can watch his contribution to Defamation (Hebrew: השמצה‎‎), a powerful 2009 documentary by award-winning Israeli cinéaste Yoav Shamir. The sequences were filmed in Chicago on the shores of Lake Michigan, before Norman Finkelstein was dislodged from his DePaul University tenure, following intense pressure from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of B’nai B’rith and Alan Dershowitz.

A member of the ‘Herem Club‘, whose membership includes Uriel_da_Costa, Baruch_Spinoza, Paul Eisen, Jacob Cohen, Gilad Atzmon, he authored The Holocaust Industry : Reflections on the Exploitation of Jewish Suffering (2000). In this he argues that Elie Wiesel et al. have patented ‘victimhood’ as an exclusively Jewish phenomenon, capitalising on the memory of what European Jewry went through in WWII as an ‘ideological weapon’. He calls the Holocaust a ‘shakedown’ and a ‘straight-out extortion racket’ – that has milked Germany and more recently France for all they are worth – enabling Israel, ‘one of the world’s most formidable military powers, with a horrendous human rights record, [to] cast itself as a victim state’, thereby providing what is a suffocatingly self-righteous haven of National Zionism with ‘immunity to criticism’ … and a licence to kill.

Given the ‘nature of the beast’, the degree of ‘thought control’ and the vast corrupting power and influence of a tentacular Jewish lobby on US foreign and domestic policies – revealed by Norman Finkelstein himself and in a study by Professors John J Mearsheimer and Stephen M Walt (q.v. infra), self censorship – induced by an albeit genuine fear of judicial retribution – preclude a robust appraisal of the problems raised by these issues.

I argue that we need to think seriously about what many citizens – for both the best and worst possible reasons – consider a distinctly taboo subject : namely the way Jewish tribalism or identity politics and today’s obsession with pedigree and DNA are closely associated and how much cultural bias – that manacles genuine research – for example in epigenetics or environmental factors – is fostered by the élitism and funding from a minority whose religious traditions predispose them to think excessively in terms of blood ties, heredity and genetics.

People identified as Jewish Americans make up less than 2 % of the population, yet represent up to 48 % of US billionaires. It will therefore come as a surprise to nobody – as Meersheimer and Walt point out – that :

«Israel has been the largest annual recipient of direct US economic and military assistance since 1976 and the largest total recipient since World War II […] Israel is the only recipient that does not have to account for how the aid is spent, an exemption that makes it virtually impossible to prevent the money from being used for purposes the United States opposes, like building settlements in the West …».Mearsheimer and Walt pages 30-31.

While Britain’s many Labour, Conservative and LibDem Friends of Israel aren’t Jewish, Stuart Littlewood draws an alarming picture of this over-representation by the organised Jewish community in British politics :

«The Jewish Chronicle has published a list of Jewish MPs in Britain’s parliament. It names 24 – Conservatives 12, Labour 10 and Liberal Democrats two. I thought it was more. But let us for the sake of argument accept the Jewish Chronicle’s figures. The Jewish population in the UK is 280,000 or 0.46 per cent. There are 650 seats in the House of Commons so, as a proportion, Jewish entitlement is only three seats. The conclusion is pretty obvious. With 24 seats, Jews are eight times over-represented. Which means, of course, that other groups must be under-represented, including Muslims…If Muslims, for instance, were over-represented to the same extent as the Jews (i.e. eight times) they’d have 200 seats. All hell would break loose …». 21st May 2010 / Stuart Littlewood http://www.redressonline.com/2010/05/jews-eight-times-over-represented-in-uk-parliament/.

Which brings us to the messianic supremacist agenda of GMOs and the Genetic Literacy Project of GLS team leader Jon Entine whose work in my view reflects an unhealthy interest in élitist, socially divisive, ‘high tech’ quick fixes, unsafe palliative solutions – synthetic biology, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, chemical and genetic engineering – sociocidal ventures comparable to the ethnic cleansing now balkanising the Holy Lands under the aegis of Bernard Lewis and his ‘clash of civilisations’. One recalls the bloodcurdling and vindictive purple prose of Deuteronomy and Joshua. I kid you not. Fanatical hatred of Gentiles in parts of the Hebrew Bible and some Talmudic Scriptures is well documented. The GLS philosophy is likewise transhumanist in its espousal of a misanthropic, quasi-religious creed, endorsing an eradicative use of ‘life sciences’ and a deadly capital intensive precision agriculture : both highly valued WMDs in the oligarchy’s divide and rule toolbox.

The photo taken in January 2015 on the premises of the British Board of Deputies – down the road from the Emirates Stadium and Holloway Prison – of an otherwise perfectly non-Jewish Right Honourable Madame Home Secretary proclaiming she is kosher sums up the pack of lies one is expected to swallow in a day’s perusal of the world news and current affairs. France is likewise held hostage by the pro-Israel Atlanticists.

Despite the UKUSA_Agreement‘s ECHELON /Five Eyes (FVEY) and the Frenchelon system, this banana republic’s intelligence services are unable to protect inhabitants and visitors from the carnage of Paris and Nice. Just as French farming is hijacked by the big business community, government and mass media outlets are the useful idiots of a PR machine abusing the population with torrents of disinformation, islamophobia and russophobia, the unquestioning allegiance to NATO in accordance with a praetorian Loi Fabius-Gayssot.

Enacted on 13 July 1990, when the nation was in holiday mode, this law makes it a criminal offence to query the existence, nature or size of the category of crimes against humanity as defined in the London Charter of 1945, on the basis of which Nazi leaders were executed in a frenzy of ‘victor’s justice’ (Siegerjustiz) a form of lex talionis (Cf. International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg in 1945-46 art.9). What this signifies for serious students of history is that key aspects of WWII have been sealed in a judicial vault and the key thrown away.

East of Covent Garden, south of Clerkenwell, west of Whitechapel, north of the Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral no longer stands out on the summit of Ludgate Hill. The City of London’s once historic skyline features now a bewildering array of steel, glass and concrete. Gone are the traces of The Blitz and the massive Provisional IRA truck bombs of the 1990s. The hub of Britain’s international financial services industry accommodates a very small resident population of about 7,000 and a daily influx of over 300,000 commuters on weekdays.

Its pseudo medieval coat of arms evinces a puerile infatuation with The Crusades with sword, shield, crested helmet, a Cross of Saint George, silver dragons, underlined by a 17th century Latin motto Domine nos dirige (‘O Lord, guide us’). Despite the appeal to the deity, this onshore bailiwick’s core business activity resides in maintaining and developing a global network of tax havens that plunder vast amounts of public resources.

The City resembles no other statutory body except perhaps the dual legal entity of the Vatican and the Holy See. Derided as Britain’s ‘last rotten borough’, the falsely patriotic, deeply conservative, ‘local authority’, that runs the tiny municipal enclave peripheral to London’s metropolis, brooks no external oversight. The Post-Brexit talk is of the ‘Asian pivot’ as Mexican standoffs cascade from NATO’s witches brew of containment policies on the borders of Russia, in Sudan and the South China Sea and further moves are made in the geopolitical -firstHeading2″>sphere to uncouple the debt merchants and investment banks from the reality of ordinary people’s lives to forge a global 100% unaccountable offshore economy. Communities at the business end of the Square Mile’s unpleasantly sharp practices may indeed see their high brow tormentors as servants of the Antichrist. Maybe those seeking out the Synagogue of Satan twice voiced in the Book of the Apocalypse need look no further. Either way full spectrum dominance is required to protect this global empire from the infidels and unbelievers who challenge a world order of would be divine rights authorised to trade in murder and mayhem and govern by chaos. Ezra Pound was made a political prisoner for 13 years for daring to think and say such things. Writers, economists and historians like Carroll Quigley, Eustace Mullins, Antony C. Sutton and others who refuse to play the rôle of gatekeepers to the central banking system’s japes are likewise ostracised as extremists and conspiracy theorists.

Un_Di_Velt_WieselUn di velt hot geshvign … (Cf. supra)

«To make the history of antisemitism complete, omitting none of the manifestations of this sentiment and following its divers phases and modifications, it is necessary to go into the history of Israel since its dispersion, or, more properly speaking, since the beginning of its expansion beyond the boundaries of Palestine. Wherever the Jews settled after ceasing to be a nation ready to defend its liberty and independence, one observes the development of antisemitism, or rather anti-Judaism; for antisemitism is an ill chosen word, which has its raison d’être only in our day, when it is sought to broaden this strife between the Jew and the Christians by supplying it with a philosophy and a metaphysical, rather than a material reason. If this hostility, this repugnance had been shown towards the Jews at one time or in one country only, it would be easy to account for the local causes of this sentiment. But this race has been the object of hatred with all the nations amidst whom it ever settled. Inasmuch as the enemies of the Jews belonged to divers races, as they dwelled far apart from one another, were ruled by different laws and governed by opposite principles; as they had not the same customs and differed in spirit from one another, so that they could not possibly judge alike of any subject, it must needs be that the general causes of antisemitism have always resided in Israel itself, and not in those who antagonized it. This does not mean that justice was always on the side of Israel’s persecutors, or that they did not indulge in all the extremes born of hatred; it is merely asserted that the Jews were themselves, in part, at least, the cause of their own ills …». French Jewish literary critic, political journalist, polemicist, anarchist, who was among the first Dreyfusards, Bernard Lazare (1865-1903) wrote the most authorative account of the causes and history of antisemitism and for that reason is treated as a pariah by today’s Jewish community.

To avoid any possible misunderstanding here is the Merriam-Webster’s dictionary simple definition of Jew :

«Someone whose religion is Judaism, who is descended from Jewish people, or who participates in the culture surrounding Judaism».

The Merriam-Webster dictionary’s full definition of Jew qualifies this with a series of subsets :

«1a : a member of the tribe of Judah

b : israelite (person who was born in or who lived in the ancient kingdom of Israel : descendant of the Hebrew patriarch Jacob ;

specifically : a native or inhabitant of the ancient northern kingdom of Israel. As opposed to the kingdom of Judah).

  1. 2 : a member of a nation existing in Palestine from the sixth century B.C. to the first century A.D.
  2. 3: a person belonging to a continuation through descent or conversion of the ancient Jewish people
  3. 4: one whose religion is Judaism …». Source : Simple and Full Definitions of Jewhttp://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/Jew.

NB The Jewish calendar is lunar and Judaism should not be conflated with Talmudism. Jewish identity is awarded to anybody who converts to Judaism or whose mother is Jewish and who, as such, participates in the secular or religious culture arising from Jewish history and Judaism. Matrilineal descent still is the rule within Orthodox Judaism, which believes that anyone with a Jewish mother is endowed with an irrevocable Jewish status. Note that ‘born-again Londoner’ Gilad Atzon has renounced both his Israeli citizenship and his Jewishness. He has also abandoned all hope of ever being reunited with his foreskin ! Wth the emergence of Jewish denominations, opinion within the wider Jewish community is divided over the question of matrilineal and patrilineal descent, with Reform Judaism in the USA officially adopting a bilineal policy since 1983.

‘NOT for the immature ! Zionist Antichrist will rule the NWO’ Aug 1, 2011https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oq0_n7ZBX_c. ‘Eustace Mullins was the most dangerous man in the world’ according to FBI director Hoover. He found out too much that people in power would prefer to remain hidden so they could continue their dirty work unhindered. Author of The Secrets of The Federal Reserve (1953) he speaks of Ezra Pound’s four protégés, three of them becoming Nobel Literature Prize winners : WB Yeats (1923), Ernest Hemingway (1954). TS Eliot (1948) James Joyce. Predictably, because of what he revealed about ‘centralised banking’, he is pigeonholed as an ‘American antisemitic writer and Holocaust denier’.

Epilogue

«To come into the world is not a great deal for most of us. No questions asked and no entry permit to be agreed, but the actual ceremony that is waiting for one, can make one or do one in. But sometimes the delivery gets out of balance and then one can get the shortest straw and be sentenced to bear the Jewish faith. That is when the trouble starts. Unfortunately one can’t turn back, one can only proceed to bear the sentence that is one for all and all for one, which makes one to be a bloody Jew». «Miko Peled is from a famous and influential Israeli Zionist family and was born in Jerusalem. Miko’s father was a famous general in the Israeli army. Miko too has served his time there. When his niece was killed in a Palestinian suicide bomb attack, his family surprisingly placed the blame squarely on the state of Israel. They believed it was the torture, violence and forced eviction from their homes that was driving Palestinians to commit suicide to fight back. In this honest, ground breaking talk Peled reveals the truth about the terror state of Israel. His talk is based on his father’s insider knowledge on the Israeli war of terror, coupled with his own research. Many Jews and Israel supporters will be deeply shaken by this expose. Some facts from his talk are that the returning Jews are not the original expelled Jews, nor their descendants. He also reveals that until 1947 when Israel launched their illegal terrorist attacks on the people of Palestine, there was no conflict. Miko Peled is one of many modern day Jews who are standing up to the Zionist state of Israel. This talk is a must watch for everybody, to clear their minds of the lies spread and supported by the Zionist owned mainstream media. -eow-title8″>An honest Israeli Jew tells the Real Truth about Israel December 2, 2012 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etXAm-OylQQ.

Coalition of the Willing’ Promotes No Fly Zone

Syrian Regime Solidifies Recent Gains
Feb 23, 2014,
Syrian Army-Valentine

Franklin Lamb
Damascus

Al-manar

Since around Valentine Day and aided by truly magnificent warm weather for this time of year, the dozens of parks in Damascus have been receiving unusually large numbers of visitors, not least of whom are Syrian soldiers on leave, enjoying the green space with girlfriends, families and friends. At the large garden with dozen of benches and sculptures, called Al-Manshia (Presidents Bridge) public park, and located between two five-star hotels, the Dama Rose and the 4-Seasons, some soldiers, presumably from out of town and with many appearing utterly exhausted, can be seen simply laying on the grass fast asleep under the warm healing sunshine.

Soldiers joke, laugh and seem pleased when citizens approach them to offer their thanks for the army’s service to the Syrian Arab Republic and to inquire about how things are going personally and if there is some help the citizen might offer the soldier. Such is the nature of Syrian nationalism and connection with Mother Syria that this observer has remarked about before and is strikingly rare from his experience. I love my country but frankly do not feel the pride and deep connection that Syrians appear to exhibit about their country’s 10,000 year history as the cradle of civilization. I would defend my country and fight for it if there were to be a legitimate war which frankly has not been the case in my lifetime.

Over the past 30 months of frequent visits to Damascus, the city has never appeared more ‘normal’. Last night this observer was up all night reading and there was not one bombing run or mortar or artillery fire to he heard, a first for more than two years. For many months, I used to avoid the historic Al-Hamidiyah Souk, the largest and the central souk in Syria located inside the old walled city of Damascus next to the Umayyad Mosque, despite its hundreds of interesting shops. The reason I tended to stay away was because I was one of very few people meandering among the warren of stalls and felt self-conscious when shopkeepers would plead with me to buy something-anything to help feed their families many of whom lived near the labyrinth.

Today, Al-Hamidiyah Souk, if not frequented with the numbers of shoppers and visitors as it was before March 2011, it is nonetheless very crowded such that foreigners can pass unnoticed…well, sometimes for at least the first hundred yards or so. In Damascene neighborhoods, no longer do citizens quickly disappear into their homes at the first sign of dusk but the streets and many cafes are crowded well past 9 p.m.

“Quo Vadis Syrie”, (‘where is Syria heading’) one Damascus University classics major, turned international law student, asked this visitor as we both sat on the steps of the Law Faculty while enjoying a bit of sun yesterday afternoon. “Is our crisis nearly over so we can start re-building Mother Syria or do our enemies have other plans to destroy us? I worry that today’s calm will soon disappear with an arriving hurricane.” His comment was perhaps triggered by a certain sense here and more widely elsewhere that a forming “coalition of the willing” appears to be pressing for a ‘humanitarian’ No Fly Zone. Some American allies envisage and are making plans to implement, a NFZ stretching up to 25 miles into Syria which would be enforced using aircraft flown from Jordanian bases and flying inside the kingdom, according to Congressional sources.

Any NFZ would be very different from what is currently being promoted and advertised by certain war-mongers in Washington, Tel Aviv and several European capitals as well as among elements of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the League of Arab States. Post Round Two of Geneva II, the White House and the usual “bomb the bastards” coterie  in Congress and among the US Zionist lobby, are said to be re-thinking the idea of a No Fly Zone (NFZ) for Syria. It would be planned and executed with US and a yet to be specified, “Coalition of the willing” using aircraft now at the ready in Jordan and Turkey to begin with.

Ranking with the fake “non-lethal aid” concept, in terms of cynical deception (virtually all “non-lethal” aid is indeed lethal for its facilitates certain forces killing others including night goggles, telecommunication equipment, GPS equipment, salaries, fake IDs and much else), a limited, ‘humanitarian’ NFZ would almost certainly became a bomb anything/person that moves ‘turkey shoot’ as was the case in Libya in 2011 as was studied and witnessed first-hand by this an many other observers. What we observed in the then, but no more, Al Jamahiriya (state of the masses), was that the misnomer ‘limited humanitarian Responsibility to Protect’ (R2P) promoted by Obama Administration UN Ambassador Susan Rice for Libya and now by her predecessor Samatha Power for Syria, was that a NFZ means essentially an all-out war for regime change at all costs in terms of expendable lives and treasury.

The Libya experience, conceding many differences between the two countries and their governments and quality of each country’s military, may be prologue for Syria. Backed by a U.N. Security Council mandate, NATO charged into Libya citing its urgent “responsibility to protect” civilians threatened by claimed bloody rampages occurring across the country. Within days, we witnessed the ‘limited carefully vetted’ targets bank turn from a promoted ‘several dozen purely military targets” into more than 10,000 bomb runs using over 7,700 ‘precision guided bombs” and from the ground and what we learned during weeks in Libya by victims and eye-witnesses it seemed at times that the targets were basically anything that moved or looked like it might have a conceivable military purpose of some sort.

Human Rights Watch documented nearly 100 cases of civilians being bombed and killed as part of the R2P campaign. Other estimates are several times the HRW published figures. To this day Libyan civilians and demanding to know from NATO, “Why did you destroy my home and kill my family?” No answer has to date been provided to the Libyan victims’ families despite investigations that showed NATO pilots frequently disregarded instructions and “we essentially bombed at if we were playing video games” according to post-conflict contrite  British airman.

Susan Rice, now Obama’s national security adviser, met with Saudi officials last week to discuss a NFZ and related strategy despite White House claims that it is still skeptical. Rice told the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee late last month that the U.S. and Saudi Arabia are working together again on Syria policy after a year of occasional bitter disagreement.

Among those currently petitioning the Obama Administration for a NFZ, which would quickly devolve into thousands of bomb runs across Syria that would likely decimate its air force and tank corps are the so-called ‘rebels.’  They tend to agree with France that problems lay ahead for them given April’s fast approaching Presidential election, in which the incumbent President, Bashar Assad, is likely to seek and win re-election.

In addition, Israel, according to a Congressional source, has offered to help ‘behind the scenes” with airbases if needed and certain activities along the southern Syrian border with occupied Palestine. A majority of Arab League countries, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) plus Turkey, France, the UK and some members of the EU also support the NFZ idea. Saudi Arabia has already approved large quantities of Chinese man-portable air defense systems or Manpads as well as antitank guided missiles from Russia and more cash to help rebels oust the Assad regime, according to an Arab diplomat. Meanwhile, the US has upped its contribution to pay the salaries of preferred rebel fighters.

Ominously, the U.S. has already positioned Patriot air defense batteries and F-16 fighter aircraft in Jordan, which would be integral to any no-fly zone.  The U.S. planes have air-to-air missiles that could destroy Syrian planes from long ranges. But officials have advised Congress that aircraft may be required to enter deep into Syrian air space if threatened by advancing Syrian planes. This could easily lead to all-out war with Syria and if Russia decides to provide advanced, long-range S-300 air defense weapons to Syria, it would make such a limited no-fly zone far more risky for U.S. pilots and it’s anyone’s guess what would happen next.

President Obama so far is keeping his own counsel as his Secretaries of Defense and State, current and former, and many other officials and politicians offer their advice for the White House ordering a NFZ. Hilary Clinton and General David Petraeus reportedly both favor a NFZ to ‘end this mess” in the words of the retired CIA Director.

To his great credit, Barack Obama appears so far  to many on Capitol Hill to be reluctant to give formal approval to another NFZ as he was last summer when he resisted calls to launch a war against Syria as well as Congressional war-monger demands to go to war with Iran on behalf of the Netanyahu government. This week Mr. Obama acknowledged that diplomatic efforts to resolve the Syrian conflict are far from achieving their goals. “But the situation is fluid and we are continuing to explore every possible avenue including diplomacy.”

If President Obama extends his record of putting American interests first to three key decisions over the past six months, and if he sticks with diplomacy rather than launch all-out war with Syria, and potentially the allies of Damascus, via a NFZ, he just may be on his way to earning his prematurely awarded Nobel Prize.

Mairead Maguire Nominates Mother Agnes Mariam and Mussalaha Peace and Reconciliation movement, Syria, for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize

Mother Agnes Mariam of the Cross with Mairead Maguire speaking in London on behalf of “Save the Children of Syria” yesterday

Mother Agnes Mariam of the Cross with Mairead Maguire speaking in London on behalf of “Save the Children of Syria” yesterday
Mother Agnes Mariam of the Cross (civil name Fadia Laham) and the Mussalaha Reconciliation Initiative in Syria, has been nominated by Mairead Maguire, Nobel Peace Laureate, for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.
In her letter to Nobel Institute, Mairead Maguire said:
‘At a time when the world so desperately needs to see a peaceful way forward to end the bloodshed and Conflict in Syria the Mussalaha initiative stands out as a beacon of hope showing us a better way forward, one which comes from within Syrian Society and expresses the spontaneous desire of the majority of Syrians for a peaceful path, a way forward that departs from violence and embraces a future where differences are resolved in an atmosphere of mutual respect that preserves the historic fraternity of the Syrian people. The Mussalaha initiative is an outstanding example of the resilient spirit of the Syrian people and their innate ability to resolve their difficulties, by themselves, even in the most tragic and exceptional of circumstances, we have a duty to support their work in every way possible.
Mussalaha, which translates as reconciliation, is a community-based non-violent popular initiative stemming from within Syrian civil society. Founded at the community level, it includes members of all Syria’s ethnic and religious communities who are tired of the war. Mussalaha fills a void created by the noise of weapons; it does not side with any of the warring parties, rather it embraces all. The movement says no to the continued loss of life, and yes to a nonviolent solution. The initiative says no to civil war and rejects all forms of sectarian violence and denominational strife. Its founding session was a peace congress held almost two years ago on 25th January, 2012, in the Sahara complex on the Syrian coast.
As a guest of the Mussalaha Initiative I visited Syria in May of 2013 where I met a few of the millions of refugees and internally displaced people whose lives have been torn apart by the ongoing conflict in that country. I learned from those I spoke to, both within the government and in opposition groups, that while there is a legitimate movement calling for long overdue reform in Syria, it is one of peaceful non-violence and that the worst acts of violence are being perpetrated by outside groups who strive to incite inter-communal division and discord. Extremist groups from around the world have converged upon Syria, bent on turning conflict into one of ideological hatred. The Mussalaha Initiative has worked diligently to stem this flow of violence and heal the wounds inflicted on the social fabric of the country.
Over the last two years the Mussalaha Initiative has worked in mediation and negotiation often crossing lines of conflict in the most difficult and life threatening of circumstances. Many abducted people have been freed, prisoner swaps facilitated, humanitarian aid supplied without discrimination, evacuation of civilians from conflict zones made possible, and disarmament of local opposition fighters peacefully facilitated.
Principle among those who have worked tirelessly for this peace initiative is Mother Agnes Mariam, with courage and conviction she has been an outspoken advocate of peace, a voice seeking justice and one which has consistently called on the international community to recognize the truth with regard to what is happening in Syria. Mother Agnes Mariam’s astute observations which discredited the video evidence offered by the United States, as proof of an alleged chemical gas attack in East Ghouta, contributed to help forstall what would have proved a regionally devastating external military intervention in Syria. This heroic peacemaker has thought nothing of placing her own life on the lines for the sake of others and at great personal risk, she personally brokered a cease-fire between rebels and the Syrian authorities in Moadamiya, Damascus province. This work facilitated the transfer of over 5,000 civilians from a besieged opposition area and included the voluntary surrender of over 500 men many of whom had been armed opposition combatants.
In making this nomination for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize, I believe that there is no military or paramilitary solution to the Syrian conflict and only through dialogue and negotiation can peace be reached. We urgently need a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria. Mother Agnes Mariam and the Mussalaha Initiative in Syria exemplify all that is remarkable about the resilience of humanity when faced with unbelievable adversity. The Mussalaha initiative which unites people of all faiths, and none, and ethnic backgrounds, deserves to be nurtured supported and fully recognized for the enormous contribution it has made, and continues to make in saving lives, and in directing all Syrians towards the path of peace.

Al-Assad: Geneva 2 might Not Be Held, Hamas Betrayed Us, KSA The State of Tribes

Published Monday, October 14, 2013
Damascus – It is remarkable how much Russia occupies the strategy of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. He seems very reassured by the Russian role, but stresses that the Russians are not defending Syria as much as they are ultimately defending themselves.

During a recent meeting with visitors at the presidential palace, including Al-Akhbar, Assad recalls a meeting he held in 2005 with President Vladimir Putin. At the time, the Syrian president told his host that he felt the Cold War still existed. Putin agreed, but tackled the question from a different angle: “True, it is a war,” he said, “but it is a cultural war between the East and the West.” This is a conviction that the Syrian president shares.

Assad believes that Syria’s security and stability can be protected by politics over weaponry. He reckons that international equilibrium is the best guarantee, citing the three Russian-Chinese vetoes during the Syrian crisis as proof.

The Syrian president does not regret giving up chemical weapons. He maintains that their capacity for deterrence has expired for three reasons:

First, Syria’s missile arsenal has made huge strides, so deterrence can now be established from the first moments of the war. This, he said, eliminated the need for chemical weapons, which can only be used as a last resort if the enemy deploys nuclear weapons.

Second, Assad continues, huge progress has been made in the past two decades in countering the military effectiveness of chemical weapons, meaning, their effect is largely psychological.

For example, the Syrian president went on to say, whenever there is a spike in tension, we see Israel distributing gas masks to its scared citizens, but when the weapons are used, their effects can be treated with relative ease. The proof, Assad purports, lies with the five Syrian soldiers who, hurt in an opposition attack using chemical weapons, were treated with shots and quickly returned to the battlefield.

Consequently, Assad says that Syria suspended production of chemical weapons in 1997, replacing them with conventional weapons, which he believes are the decisive element in the battlefield. Assad explains that he built the armament structure of his army based on missiles, saying, “It is enough to lay down fire on Israel’s airports to paralyze it,” since, as is known, Israel’s strength lies with its air force.

Third, chemical weapons are obsolete because the war is now internal.

No doubt, there was a moral and political loss in handing over the chemical weapons, according to Assad. In 2003, Damascus proposed ridding the Middle East of all weapons of mass destruction. Syrian chemical weapons were a bargaining chip whose price was the Israeli nuclear weapons arsenal. But today, the price has changed. It was agreed that the Syrian chemical weapons would be handed over in return for sparing the country a Western military strike.

Even the manufacture of conventional weapons, which was aimed at countering Israel, is now aimed at internal enemies, which can be counted as another loss, Assad says. Regarding the Nobel Peace Prize awarded recently to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Assad quips, “The prize should have been mine.”

Goodbye, Geneva

Assad does not believe that Geneva II will be held, even if scheduled for November. Perhaps the proposed peace conference will be held only to appease Russia, which is seeking to ward off the specter of war.

Assad says that Syria has no qualms attending, and that its only demand is clear and based on two principles: elections and ending support for terrorists. “Whenever we kill 1,000 terrorists, 2,000 more terrorists enter the country,” Assad says.

The West’s problem, according to the Syrian president, is that the faction it supports is fragmented and has no control on the ground. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) is almost done for, he says. Its fighters have either abandoned it to join Islamic groups, or have joined the government and are now fighting in the ranks of the Syrian army. Nothing is left of the forces supported by the West and the Gulf except terrorists, who have no place in Geneva II, Assad adds.

The problem, from Assad’s point of view, lies with the other side, specifically the West. Those that the West can bring to the conference, he says, have no control on the ground, and as for those who have control on the ground, the West has no influence over them. He recalls that Lakhdar Brahimi came to him one time, carrying an American assessment stating that there were 2,000 militant groups fighting in Syria. When the Syrian president asked him what his own estimate was, Brahimi said 1,200. So, Assad asks: Who can control all these groups and guarantee they would implement any political agreement?

Foreigners Are Better Than the Arabs

Assad is bitter. “Not one Arab official has contacted us with a plan for mediation or for an Arab solution,” he says. The Arabs, he says, were always only an echo of their Western “masters,” if not worse.

The Syrian president adds that the West, despite all its flaws, “Always dealt with us more honorably than some Arabs.” Kofi Annan was honest and resigned, he remarks, while his Arab aides were not.

Assad stresses that this issue will be dealt with after the crisis. He does not want to handle it emotionally like Muammar Gaddafi did when he pivoted to Africa. Assad is adamant about Syria’s Arab identity, but does not see this as something necessarily linked to the Arab League. The framework of this identity, in practice and in form, shall be determined later, according to the president.

Progress on the Field

Assad seems reassured by the progress of military operations. He says the war follows a hit-and-run pattern, where his army regains control of some territories while losing others, and so on. However, Assad adds, if we consider the general course things have been taking, we would find that the Syrian army is clearly advancing.

In the same vein, the Syrian president highlights two particular problems: Daraa and the Jordanian front on the one hand, and the north, on the other hand. In the first, Assad says that fighters and weapons continue to flow from Jordan, regardless of whether this was being staged by the Jordanian regime or Gulf countries. As for the second, specifically in Aleppo near the border with Turkey, Turkish support has kept the front hot. “But the Turks have a problem now, after al-Qaeda seized the crossing,” Assad says, adding that there are no intractable problems in the rest of the regions.

Assad denies categorically the reports circulated a few days ago, holding that Abbas Zaki, member of Fatah’s central committee, had brought him a message from the new emir of Qatar. Interestingly, beyond the reporter’s question about this issue, Assad did not mention Qatar again in the interview. Khaled Meshaal and his team in Doha figured more in our conversation with the Syrian president, in fact.

Hamas’ ‘Betrayal’

Mishaal Raised the FSA Flag by Mistake. Thus Claimed Mosa Abu Marzouk in an interview With al-Mayadin to aired tonight
By Mistake!!!!!

The conversation moves to Hamas when the president is asked about the reports regarding Meshaal’s visit to Tehran, and whether Damascus, specifically the presidential palace, would be his next stop. But Assad is keen on clarifying everything in this regard, ending all equivocation.

First, Assad says that the Muslim (American) Brotherhood, for 80 years, has been known for its opportunism and betrayal, but stresses that Damascus did not treat Hamas in the beginning as being part of the international Islamist organization. “The Europeans would come to us and ask what Hamas was doing here, and we would say that it was a resistance movement,” the Syrian president says, adding that only that capacity made Syria welcome and sponsor Hamas.

Assad says, “When the crisis began, [Hamas officials] claimed that they gave us advice. This is a lie. Who are they to give Syria advice? Then they said that we asked for their help, which is also not true. What business do they have in internal Syrian affairs?”

Later, the president of the World Federation of Muslim Scholars, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, made his insulting statements about Syria. Assad says, “Yes, we demanded that they take a stance. A while later, they came and said that they spoke with Qaradawi. We said that those who want to take a political stance should do so publicly. What value does a stance have if taken in closed rooms?”

Estrangement between Hamas and the Syrian regime ensued. Assad holds that Hamas ultimately decided to abandon resistance and to fully merge with the Muslim Brotherhood. He adds, “This was not the first time they had betrayed us. It happened before in 2007 and 2009. Their history is one of treachery and betrayal.” Assad then wished “someone would persuade them to return to being a resistance movement,” but says that he doubts this will happen. “Hamas has sided against Syria from day one. They have made their choice,” he adds.

Oddly, Walid Jumblatt and US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns suddenly slip into the conversation, when Assad is asked whether he would receive Meshaal. “Don’t rule out seeing Jumblatt here,” he jokes.

Assad then recalls how Burns came to visit him before the invasion of Iraq in 2003. Burns presented Assad with a list of demands to facilitate the military operations against Iran, including allowing US warplanes to cross Syrian airspace, telling him that no one would notice. Assad’s answer was simple: “You are a government with no principles, and you pursue your foreign policy on commercial bases. Give us a deal, and we will see if it is in our interests and we will show it to the Syrian people.”

Assad is clearly still wounded by Hamas’ actions. But he keeps the door open to all possibilities if Syria’s interests require making certain rapprochements. In the end, he says, politics is about both principles and interests.

Iraq: Relations Are Very Good

“[Iraq’s] stance has been very good from the beginning,” he says. Assad stresses that he’s not only talking about Baghdad, but also Iraqi Kurdistan. Though Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari expressed some extreme positions, Assad says, Iraq’s stance remains “very good.”

Meanwhile, Damascus has been closely monitoring the situation in Egypt. Assad asserts, “Egypt is the fortress of the Arabs,” saying that relations with Egypt are today better than they were, even under former President Hosni Mubarak.

Under Mubarak, Assad continues, “We considered the Egyptian Foreign Ministry the equivalent of the U.S. Department of State.” But interestingly, Assad said that relations with Egypt were never severed, even under deposed president Mohamed Mursi, revealing that the military and intelligence channels remained open with Egypt the entire time.

Saudi, the Tribal State

In the meantime, hostility and estrangement with Saudi Arabia continues. At the end of the day, Assad remarks, Saudi Arabia is nothing more than “a state of tribes and individuals.”
“Personal relations determine [policy], and when one person falls out with us, all of Saudi Arabia falls out with us,” he adds.

“The Saudis have been hostile to Syria for the past 20 to 30 years to begin with. What changed was the relationship with their master. When their master’s relationship with us is good, they are good with us. When their masters fall out with us, they become hostile to us. There is always the personal factor in Saudi policies,” he says.

With respect to Turkey, according to Assad, the problem is confined to the person of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The Turkish people, Assad maintains, are opposed to Erdogan’s policies. Even President Abdullah Gul has started to publicly express his opposition to the policies of his prime minister, Assad purports, saying that Gul thinks that if Erdogan wants to gamble with himself, he should at least not gamble his entire political party, the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

The Secular State

Under no circumstances will Syria follow the Lebanese or Iraqi model, Assad proclaims. Syria is and will remain a secular state because this is the only suitable formula for cohesion in the country, which enjoys religious, sectarian, and ethnic pluralism, Assad says.

He asserts there should be no politicization of religion in Syria because this would simply be a recipe for disintegration.

Religion, he went on to say, has its spiritual and humanitarian functions, praising the vital role played by patriotic clerics in maintaining the unity of the Syrian fabric and combatting takfiri ideas, especially the late Mohammed Saeed Ramadan al-Bouti, who was killed while doing this duty.

Economy: Some Self-Criticism

Assad speaks about the pressures currently faced by the Syrian economy. He says that the cycle of production, distribution, and trade had come to a halt, and though it has started spinning in the past two months, it has remained slow. The embargo and terrorism, he adds, have exhausted the Syrian economy and damaged the Syrians’ living standards.

He then stresses that his country did not – and will not – abandon the public sector, in addition to the private and hybrid sectors. Assad says that the reform package, dubbed a “social-market economy,” did not prove to always be balanced, saying that Syria rushed into policies tipped toward privatization, while the public sector was not developed.

Moreover, he says, the Syrian government focused on large investments when the Syrian economy should’ve focused on small- and medium-sized enterprises. Assad adds, “Our primary concern – now – is to preserve and develop the agricultural sector. In the end, more than 60 percent of the people are farmers, and perhaps more than 80 percent are farmers and workers.”

Al-Assad: Geneva 2 might Not Be Held, Hamas Betrayed Us, KSA The State of Tribes

16 yr old Malala explains the facts of life to Obama “drones are ‘fueling terrorism'”

President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their daughter Malia meet with Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani schoolgirl who was shot in the head by the Taliban a year ago, in the Oval Office, Oct. 11, 2013.

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama met in the Oval Office Friday with Malala Yousafzai, the Pakastani girl who was shot in the head on her school bus by Taliban gunmen for criticizing their rule, including banning education for girls.

The White House says the first couple invited Malala — the youngest ever nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize — to the White House “to thank her for her inspiring and passionate work on behalf of girls education in Pakistan.”

In a statement, the White House says the United States “joins with the Pakistani people and so many around the world to celebrate Malala’s courage and her determination to promote the right of all girls to attend school and realize their dreams.”

In a statement released after the meeting, Malala said she was honored to meet with Obama, but that she told him she’s worried about the effect of U.S. drone strikes. (The White House statement didn’t mention that part.)

“I thanked President Obama for the United States’ work in supporting education in Pakistan and Afghanistan and for Syrian refugees,” she said in the statement. “I also expressed my concerns that drone attacks are fueling terrorism. Innocent victims are killed in these acts, and they lead to resentment among the Pakistani people. If we refocus efforts on education it will make a big impact.”

Malala was in Washington to address the World Bank.

The White House noted that Obama had said in a proclamation marking today as the International Day of the Girl, that “across the globe there are girls who will one day lead nations, if only we afford them the chance to choose their own destinies.”

The meeting was not on the president’s schedule and there was no advance notice, nor any press coverage.

Press Secretary Jay Carney had earlier said Malala’s “courage and efforts are remarkable, and the president absolutely honors them,” after ABC News’ Jonathan Karl asked him whether the Nobel committee “blew it” by giving the Nobel Peace Prize to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, rather than Malala.

Carney said the award “reinforces the international community’s commitment to the international prohibition against the use of chemical weapons. “One of the President’s highest priorities is to prevent the proliferation or use of weapons of mass destruction,” Carney said. “And this award honors those who make it their life’s work to advance this vital goal.”

Putin Nominated for Nobel Peace Prize

By Stephen Lendman

Global Research, October 03, 2013

The International Academy of Spiritual Unity and Cooperation Among Nations of the World (IASUCANW) nominated him for the 2014 award.

On October 11, this year’s winner will be announced. Annual nominations must be postmarked by February 1.

Putin and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov collaborated. They’ve addressed regional conflicts responsibly. They’ve gone all out for peace in Syria.

They want things resolved diplomatically. They want all sides on board to do so.
They continue doing it against long odds. Both men deserve recognition for their efforts. They persist tirelessly.

They do it knowing Obama wants regime change. War is his bottom line option to achieve it. Preventing it will be a monumental achievement. So will resolving Syria’s conflict peacefully.
On October 1, IASUCANW President Georgiy Trapeznikov said “the letter was sent to the Nobel Committee September 16 and it was received September 20.”

“Vladimir Putin has proved his adherence to the cause of peace.”
“We know very well what peacemaking role our president played in conflict regions, especially Beslan and South Ossetia.”

He’s very much involved in resolving Syria’s conflict peacefully.
Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Pekov said:

“The primary criterion for the president is satisfaction from a job well done.” He seeks no special recognition or awards.

State Duma MP Iosif Kobzon said Putin deserves next year’s prize. He’s polar opposite Obama.
“Barack Obama is the man who has initiated and approved the United States’ aggressive actions in Iraq and Afghanistan,” said Kobzon.

“Now he is preparing for an invasion into Syria. He bears this title nevertheless.”
“Our president, who tries to stop the bloodshed and who tries to help the conflict situation with political dialogue, is in my view more worthy of this high title.”

Nobel Committee members deplore peace. They represent wealth, power and privilege.
They believe war is peace. It shows in their annual selections.

Past winners included Henry Kissinger, Shimon Peres, Yitzhak Rabin, Menachem Begin, FW de Klerk, Al Gore, Kofi Annan, and four US warrior presidents.

Announcing Obama award, Committee members said:

It reflects his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

He’s “work(ed) for a world without nuclear weapons.”

He “created a new climate in international politics.”

“Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future.”

Since day one in office, Obama waged war on humanity. He continues doing it.

He wants Syria ravaged and destroyed. He plans war on Iran. He has other targets in mind.

He doesn’t have a peace bone in his body. He thrives on violence. He presides over a homeland police state apparatus.

He spurns core rule of law principles. He considers them quaint and out-of-date. They’re obstacles to achieving global dominance.

His agenda is belligerent. It’s interventionist. It deplores peace. It prioritizes conflict and instability. He wants unipolar world control.

Putin is polar opposite. He supports peace and stability. He calls nation-state sovereignty inviolable.
He champions multi-polar world cooperation. He deserves recognition for his efforts to achieve it.
All-Russian Education Fund president Sergey Komkov supports Putin’s nomination. He addressed Nobel Committee members by letter, saying:

Putin “appl(ies) maximum effort for maintaining peace, not only on the territory of his own country, but he also actively supports the peaceful settlement of all conflicts on the planet.”

On October 1, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro expressed support for Putin’s nomination, saying:

“If there is someone who deserves the Nobel Peace Prize at this historic moment, it is the Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was able to stop the war that threatened the Syrians.”

Venezuelan National Assembly President Diosadado Cabello Rondon plans visiting Moscow.
He’ll give Putin a congratulatory letter. He’ll do so for “the role he is playing in establishing a new world of peace.”

Former Reagan administration Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs Kathleen Troia McFarland endorsed Putin’s nomination, saying:
“The world knows that Vladimir Putin is the one who really deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.” She praised his “give peace a chance” efforts.

Chicago Tribune editors said his proposal to eliminate Syria’s chemical weapons “validates the great power status of Russia and might even win Vladimir Putin a Nobel Peace Prize.”

A “We the People” petition wants Obama to give Putin his 2009 award, stating:

“Whereas Mr. Obama made a sincere commitment to starting a war with Syria, engaging our military in unwanted conflict, and doing so without the support of his people, we resolve that Mr. Obama should deliver the Nobel Peace prize given to him in 2009 to a man of Peace, the President of Russia, Mr. Putin.”
“Whereas Mr. Putin enabled the United States to avoid an unwanted and unwarranted military action, he has brought us to the ‘brink’ of peace.”

Other global initiatives want Obama’s award rescinded. RootsAction headlined “Revoke Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize,” saying:

“After receiving the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, President Obama has made perpetual war look more perpetual than ever.”
“Today, there are more US troops in Afghanistan than when Obama took office.”
“His increasing intervention in Syria promises the loss of even more than the nearly 100,000 lives already needlessly sacrificed.”
“His intervention in Libya cost thousands of lives while destabilizing the entire region.”
“His presidency has widened the use of drones and other instruments of remote killing without limit to almost any place on the globe.”
“Please sign this petition to the Norwegian Nobel Committee.” Access it at RootsAction.org.

On October 1, The New York Times headlined “Citing Efforts to Prevent Attack on Syria, Group Nominates Putin for Peace Prize.”

Putin bashing is longstanding Times policy. It continues irresponsibly. The Times lied saying:

“He is credited with commanding a war to crush separatism in Chechnya, approving a full-scale attack on Georgia over a minor border dispute, and complaining when NATO led an air war in Libya to stop Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi from killing thousands of Libyans.”
“And he is still selling weapons to the murderous government of President Bashar al-Assad of Syria.”

Fact check

Former Russian President Boris Yeltsin waged two wars on Chechnya. He waged another against ordinary Russian citizens.

Shock therapy produced economic genocide. Around 80% of farmers went bankrupt. About 70,000 state factories closed.

An unemployment epidemic followed. A permanent underclass was created. Half or more of Russians became impoverished.

Crime, suicides, mortality, alcoholism, drug abuse, and HIV/AIDS soared to intolerable levels.
Essential needs were ignored. Human and civil rights were spurned. The New York Times called Yeltsin “a towering figure of his time.”

He became widely despised. His approval rating sunk to low single digits. On December 31, 1999, his tenure ended disgracefully. He announced it, saying:

“I want to beg forgiveness for your dreams that never came true. And also I would like to beg forgiveness not to have justified your hopes.”

Putin was Yeltsin’s prime minister. He became acting president. He remained so until Russians formally elected him to lead on March 26.

According to former Nezavisimaia Gazeta editor-in-chief Vitalii Tret’iakov:

“(F)or the greater part of his presidency, Yeltsin slept, drank, was ill, relaxed, didn’t show his face before the people and simply did nothing.”
“Despised by the majority of (Russians, he’ll) go down in history as the first president of Russia, having corrupted (the country) to the breaking point, not by his virtues and or by his defects, but rather by his dullness, primitiveness, and unbridled power lust of a hooligan.”

Western governments, The NYT, and other mainstream media hailed his democratic change.
They ignored his “free market” gangsterism. Another generation may be needed to recover from the human wreckage he caused.

Obama bears full responsibility for lawless aggression on Libya. Doing so destroyed Africa’s most developed country.

Daily charnel house violence, instability, poverty, unemployment, homelessness, hunger, and human misery replaced it. Don’t expect The Times to explain.

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili is a despotic US-installed stooge.

On August 7, 2008, he lawlessly attacked South Ossetia. He did so with Bush administration backing.
President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Putin acted responsibly. They did so to protect thousands of Russian citizens at risk.

Times editors, commentators and writers misreported on what happened. They didn’t surprise. They backed lawless aggression. They opposed responsible self-defense. They did so disgracefully.
They’re doing it again now. They criticize Putin’s efforts to prevent full-scale war on Syria.
He vetoed three US-led Security Council resolutions to do it. The Times lied saying he “block(ed) international action that could have stemmed the violence in Syria and prevented the deaths of more than 100,000 civilians.”

Syria is Obama’s war. He bears full responsibility for mass killing and destruction. The Times didn’t explain.

More Putin bashing followed, saying:

“Mr. Putin would not be the first formerly war-waging leader to win the Peace Prize.”

True enough about many others. Obama stands out notably. Putin responsibly deplores war. He seeks peace.

The Times again failed to explain. Irresponsible reporting substituted. It’s longstanding Times policy. Its “news fit to print” isn’t fit to read.

Striking Russia through Syria

Putin says nyet to Obama
by Ariadna Theokopoulos on September 9, 2013

We’re witnessing the last grotesque convulsions of a dying empire. As it threatens humanity with annihilation, it’s also nauseating the still sane among us with an unending farce, as in the hypocrite Kerry declaring, “this is not the time to be silent spectators to slaughter,” but John, you lying cynic, the world has been asked to be a mute audience to American mass murder for how long now? But Johnny wants more, much more.

Feigning outrage, the former anti-war darling and Democratic Presidential candidate was talking about the Syria chemical attack, which was likely the work of America itself, through its crazed terrorists, though Washington is trying hard to convince incredulous listeners that Assad somehow did this just so the US of A could have the excuse to destroy him, along with thousands of innocent Syrians. Putin called this explanation nonsense, and even branded Kerry a liar, and the UN has even concluded that an earlier chemical attack, also blamed on Assad, was committed by the American-backed “rebels.”

As in so many other wars, the US must save civilians by killing or maiming them, as well as poisoning their environments for centuries. Though the US routinely targets civilian infrastructures such as electrical stations and water treatment plants, and uses war means that murder long after the last bullet is fired, as in cluster bombs and depleted uranium, for example, it is now acting livid over Assad’s alleged use of sarin.

But in his ketchup-bleeding heart, Kerry knows full well that America’s aggression against Syria is not over sarin but natural gas. First of, Syria’s biggest supporter, Russia, is the world’s leading exporter of this stuff, and supplies Europe with nearly 40% of its needs, so that’s a lot of leverage, Watson. If overly irked by America’s puppets in NATO, Russia can retaliate by turning off the gas, as has been done several times already.

To wiggle out of this dependence, another source of natural gas was needed, and Qatar proposed a pipeline to Europe by way of Syria, except Assad would not acquiesce. Russia is Assad’s main protector, after all, and Russian navy ships have docked in the Syrian port of Tartus since 1971. Rebuffed, the US, France, England, Germany, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and others decided to back terrorists to unseat Assad. Aiming to destroy Syria, this charming group calls itself the Friends of Syria, naturally. A long time enemy of Syria, Israel also supports this hostility, though its escalation might just wipe a good chunk of this pariah state off the map.

Syria has agreed to a pipeline originating from Iran, however. A much less significant source of natural gas than Qatar, Iran will hardly dent Russia’s profits, and since it’s also a Russian ally, the gas flow to Europe will still be controlled by Moscow. So Russia has Europe by the balls, so to speak, especially in winter, when enough people freeze to death as is. Many countries are entirely dependent on Russian natural gas, while France only imports a manageable 14%, and the UK, none, so they can afford to kiss Uncle Sam’s withered ass a bit harder, though the Brits, interestingly this time, have opted out of the current madness.

A war on Syria, then, is an attack on Russia itself, and that’s why Russian warships are patrolling the Mediterranean. Countering the American menace, Russia will certainly be no silent spectator, and to show support for Russia and Syria, a Chinese warship has also shown up, with more coming. Though Washington talks of a “warning shot across the bow” or “tailored strike,” a quickie hit and run that won’t distract too much from the exhilarating start of football season, World War III might just erupt, for we haven’t been this close to universal calamity in half a century.

Two weeks ago, only 9% of Americans favored a military strike against Syria, but now, with such an onslaught of propaganda, up to 42% support it, but this figure might be exaggerated since it is reported by NBC News, a subsidiary of war profiteering General Electric.

Voices of dissent have surfaced even in the mainstream media, however, for wiser heads can’t help but realize that a war against Syria and Russia will bring much grief and terror to us all, including those busy watching a missed tackle or punt return. The New York Times even showed on its front page a photo of Syrian “rebels” about to execute kneeling, shirtless prisoners, with their heads close to the ground. Much more damning images exist, and the Times has surely known about them, but it is choosing to feature this now, as if to put the kibosh on Obama and his war mongers. CNN televised war nut McCain being challenged by outraged citizens at a town meeting, though it did allow the old POW to have the last word in a live interview.

As America oscillates over its death wish, Obama himself is blinking, and we can only hope that Barack will just go on unleashing unnatural, gaseous nonsense, and not Tomahawk missiles towards Damascus. It’s hard to believe, but this man has turned out to be more preposterous than Bush, so if the trend holds, our next President will be a Mummer, some Lucha Libre guy or, why not, a real rodeo clown. In any case, it was quite a spectacle to see Obama fly to Russia to become Putin’s court jester, for he delivered one joke after another, most of them unintended.

En route to Saint Petersburg, Obama stopped in Sweden, and there, promised that he would bug Putin about Raoul Wallenberg, a Swedish diplomat who died in Soviet custody in 1945. The Nobel Peace laureate never wastes a chance to appear humanitarian and noble, and the Swedes had also done him a favor by prosecuting Assange over that CIA-staged threesome, but the real reason Obama dug up this man, one suspects, was to draw a parallel between Wallenberg’s protection of Jews in World War II with himself trying to “save” Syrians today. Brilliant! He’s evoking this famous saver of Jews to mass murder more Arabs. In the process, though, he will trigger the deaths of countless others, maybe even you.

Peace Prize for those who declared war on my country

by Kourosh Ziabari
Saturday, October 13th, 2012

Nobel Prize is the most prestigious honor which one may be awarded in his lifetime. The legacy of Alfred Nobel is so matchless and incomparable that more than one century after the first Nobel Prize was awarded, it is still the most exalted and esteemed prize that can be conferred to people who work for the promotion and advancement of sciences and global peace.

Many people live their entire life with the dream of winning a Nobel Prize, without revealing this sealed aspiration to anyone. Chemists, physicists, medics, economists, authors, poets and activists who invest their whole life on a groundbreaking achievement which rightfully and truly deserves a Nobel Prize may witness the swift and unstoppable passage of years, without being ever recognized for their striking breakthroughs and accomplishments, either by the Nobel Foundation or the universities, organizations and groups which award important prizes.

Nobody can doubt that Nobel Prize is an insignificant reality or may diminish in importance and value with time. Every year, weeks before the announcement of the Nobel Prize laureates in physiology or medicine, chemistry, physics, literature, peace and economics, mass media, authors, university professors and ordinary people begin to make speculations about who may be given the prize and have their name recorded in the brilliant history of the Nobel Prize.

Upon writing his will in 1895, Alfred Nobel thought that it must be suitable to entrust the responsibility of awarding the Nobel Peace Prize to a Norwegian committee, because Norway did not have the same militaristic traditions as Sweden, and “at the end of the nineteenth century the Norwegian Storting (legislative assembly) had become closely involved in the Inter-Parliamentary Union and its efforts to resolve conflicts through mediation and arbitration,” as written by the Norwegian Nobel Committee website.

Alfred Nobel had realized the need for supporting and sponsoring global efforts aimed at fostering peace and tranquility around the world, and for this reason, he demanded that a group of five Norwegian lawmakers should decide about the destiny of the Nobel Peace Prize each year.

It’s not far from reality to claim that the criteria for the endowment of Nobel Peace Prize as stipulated by the Norwegian Nobel Committee have been usually politically motivated, and this is something which is not in line with the essence of Alfred Nobel’s will. Of course there are people in the history of Nobel Peace Prize who were awarded the prize righteously for their sincere efforts to promote peace, encourage dialogue among the nations and reduce or abolish the standing armies. But, let’s just be fair. Was the European Union really worthy of receiving the Nobel Peace Prize?

I really don’t know if this union has really contributed to fraternity and integrity between its 27 members throughout the past decades, but what I have personally witnessed in the past year is that this union has aggressively declared an all-out, bloodless war on Iran, affecting millions of innocent civilians in my country who can’t understand for what crime they are being targeted and punished in such a belligerent and unfair manner.

The European Union began to impose an inclusive oil embargo against Iran since July 1 as a result of direct pressure and lobbying by the United States and in an effort aimed at paralyzing Iran’s nuclear program which they claim is not aimed at civilian purposes, and finally breaking the back of Iran’s economy and pressuring it into making political concessions.

As a result of these sanctions, the value of Iran’s currency, rial, has dropped to its lowest level against dollar in three decades, the country has been hit by a staggering and overwhelming hyperinflation which according to Prof. Steve H. Hanke has been increasing the price of goods and commodities by 70% every month since the sanctions began to take effect and the country’s export of oil has decreased 600,000 to 800,000 barrels each day which means a 50% reduction in sales. Moreover, several international insurance companies, airliners and shipping lines have ceased their cooperation with Iran as a result of the economic crisis which has encompassed the country.

As a result of the oil embargo and other financial restrictions imposed on my country by the EU, the Iranian families are unable to fund their students abroad and consequently, a large group of Iranian students studying in foreign universities are returning en masse. Sensitive medicine and pharmaceutical products which were previously imported from the foreign countries cannot find their way to Iran’s markets anymore and thousands of patients badly in need of medicines for such diseases as thalassemia, hepatitis, diabetes, different types of cancer, heart diseases and psychiatric disorders are facing serious problems with finding their medicines.

Are the leaders of the European Union recognizing that their sanctions are taking a heavy toll on the innocent, ordinary Iranian citizens and shattering the ambitions and aspirations of thousands of youths who cannot realize their dreams due to the financial problems which have tumbled on their lives?

Are the leaders of the European Union who now carry the grandiose accolade of the world’s most important prize for promoting peace recognizing that the purchasing power of the middle-class and working families has experienced an unimaginable free-fall in the recent months and that their lives is on the verge of blowing apart?

Waging wars does not take place simply by means of bombarding cities or dropping nuclear bombs on other nations. What the European Union has been doing with Iran is the unmistakable representation of an all-out war in which the ordinary citizens are the silent victims.

Alfred Nobel writes in his will, my capital should be “invested in safe securities by my executors, shall constitute a fund, the interest on which shall be annually distributed in the form of prizes to those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit to mankind.”

Was destroying the economy of Iran and ruining the lives of thousands of innocent civilians the magnum opus for which the European Union was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize?

Prince of Gaza hailed Qatari donation of 25000 tons of fuel to Gaza,

Haneyya calls on Egypt to restrain Israeli targeting of Palestinian prisoners

[ 02/04/2012 – 05:53 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)– Palestinian premier in Gaza Ismail Haneyya has called on Egypt, in its capacity as the patron of the prisoners’ exchange deal between Hamas and Israel, to pressure Israel into abiding by articles of the deal.
Haneyya, during a visit to liberated prisoner Hana’a Shalabi in Shifa hospital in Gaza on Monday, said that Israel had violated articles of the agreement that banned re-arrest of freed captives in this deal.
He described the deportation of Shalabi to Gaza as a war crime and a violation of human rights, adding that his government would ask Arab and international courts to put an end to such policy.
The premier, shifting to another issue, said that the fuel crisis in Gaza would be resolved within days, pointing to the presence of his deputy in Cairo for that matter.
He hailed in this respect the Qatari donation of 25000 tons of fuel to Gaza, adding that it would suffice the Strip for two months.

You Are Not Forgotten

>

My Palestinian sister, my Palestinian brother;
I write this letter today and I see your face in front of me, the face of Palestine.

I see your smile; that of a poppy being kissed by the sun. I hear your whisper; that of an olive trees being hugged by the wind. I address this letter to you, for I know your name and you know mine: Palestinian.

2010 was declared the year of the Palestinian prisoners/detainees. Throughout the year, some local newspapers here in occupied Palestine published daily reports about you, your detention, your heroism, published interviews with your families, your loved ones telling of your detention, of the painful visits, of the Israeli oppression and harassment, and telling of how much you are loved, how much you are missed.

A photo accompanied every report; a smiling young man with wavy dark hair that is probably grey now with the years and the suffering behind bars, a beautiful young woman whose once bright eyes probably have turned pale today with pain and sadness, a laughing father sitting amongst his children, wife, parents and siblings before being kidnapped from their midst by Israeli occupation soldiers, a happy mother surrounded by her children before she was separated from them by Israeli jailors, a little boy standing proudly near his new bicycle that is now stacked somewhere full of dust waiting for its owner to come home.

Every morning I rush to check the page with your stories in one of the local newspapers. I pass my fingers over your pictures as I read how much you love Msakhan, how you tried to return the little bird to its nest and fell off the olive tree, how you impressed everyone with your dakbeh during your brother’s wedding, how you love writing poetry, how you dreamt of a free Palestine. And then I would wish I was able to free you, bring you back to your loved ones, bring you back to your poetry, to your dabkeh group, to your olive tree, and I would wish I could hug you, each and every one of you, and remove some of your pain away and tell you that you are never forgotten, that your pain is not yours alone, it is ours, all of us, because we are all one: we are Palestinians.

And like the tens of thousands of fellow Palestinians, I joined the campaign of the ministry of detainees, the “write a letter” campaign, to tell you are not forgotten. I took a look at the list of names published by the ministry of detainees. And although the lists were incomplete, I wished I could write 7000 letters, a letter to each and every one of you. I knew it was impossible, mainly because I was unable to find the 7000 names. I decided to choose a name from every part of Palestine; one of you from Jerusalem, one from Nablus, one from Im Il-Fahim, Bethlehem, Gaza, Yafa, Jenin. I looked at the list of Jerusalem prisoners and I read the names. I came across prisoners from my family, I came across prisoners from the old city, from Ras Il Amoud, Silwan, Abu Dees, Il-Izariyyeh, Sawahreh, At-Tur, At-Thuri, Il-Isawiyyeh, Wadi Il-Joz, Shu’fat, Beit Hanina, Il-Ram, Il-Sheikh Jarrah. I came across men, women, children, elderly and sick detainees and I couldn’t decide. Each and every name has a face; each and every name has a story; each and every name has a family, has parents, brothers, sisters and maybe a wife and children. Each and every one of you is entitled to a letter, each and every one of you must be told you are not forgotten.

I looked at the other lists, read the sentences: 30 years, 40 years, 60 years, 99 years, 999 years! And I thought of the pain of being separated from the ones you love, being robbed of your freedom, of your life; indescribable. I looked at the names of the isolated detainees and I read: isolated since 2008, since 2006, since 2003 and since 2001! And I thought: to live in a tiny cell, isolated from the whole world, even from fellow prisoners, for 9 years! What cruelty! What inhumanity! I could not choose any random name, for you all are my brothers and sisters. I decided to write to everyone on the lists. I wrote and wrote, crossed over and wrote again, crossed over, wrote again and so it went. I wanted my letter to reach you and not be cut short by the Israeli censor. And eventually, after I don’t know how many attempts, I wrote a short message, one to tell you that you are not forgotten. I sent many, don’t know anymore how many. Then I stopped.

I stopped because I thought of how unfair it was of the ministry to publish only a few names. Everyone joining the campaign would be writing these very same names. I imagined you all sitting in your cells and only a couple of you receiving dozens of letters because some names were published, while the rest of you wondering why you no one remembered you. I thought of all the Palestinian detainees, of all of you, all of you locked up behind Israeli bars, all those among you who spent more time in Israeli jails than with your families, all those among you who try to remember your mothers gentle touch while being tortured by Israeli jailors, all those among you who try to recall your father’s kind words while being interrogated by Israeli terrorists. I thought of the children, the women and the elderly, I thought of all the Jordanian, Syrian and other Arab prisoners among you who love Palestine and love freedom, and who sacrificed their freedom for Palestine. I thought of every human being locked up in the dungeons of Zion and thought how insignificant a letter is compared to your sacrifices. What would you tell a prisoner who is spending his 33th year in Israeli dungeons? What would you tell a mother whose children are growing up away from her? What would you tell a cancer patient screaming from pain every night while we go to work, eat and sleep and maybe, because there is a campaign, we write a letter?

I remember the time when I often wrote letters to my uncles. Like you, they were locked up behind Israeli bars and their only crime was their love of Palestine and their yearning for freedom. Writing to them felt like a national duty; something I had to do. I wrote letter after letter after letter, and only got a few back in reply to the ones I sent. I knew there is Israeli censorship, and that all letters are read and controlled, parts might be crossed out or even whole letters withheld if they contained one word that might not appeal to the inspecting Israeli soldier. I knew that my letters would reach my uncles days, maybe weeks, maybe even months after I had sent them. I knew that my uncles were not able to reply to every single letter I sent and thus I cherished the few I got from them, no matter how little they contained. I wanted so much to tell them how much I am proud of them, of Palestine and of the resistance, of the people demonstrating everywhere against occupation and oppression. But I knew if I wrote these things, the letters won’t reach them and the most important thing to me was that the letters arrive to my uncles, that they know they are not one second forgotten, that they are not alone suffering in the jail, that we are suffering with them, missing them, thinking of them every minute of the day. I did my best to make the letter as personal as possible and at the same time, out of fear of the Israeli censor and never being allowed to write again, I tried to make the letter as impersonal as possible. I wrote of insignificant things; I wrote of school and of the weather.

I wrote of the weather, of the blue sky over Palestine, and hoped they would remember how we used to watch the clouds and laugh at the figures we imagined in them. I didn’t dare mention the clouds of tear gas that were strangling us day and night. I wrote of the olive trees, the apple trees, the fig trees and the vineyards and hoped they would see the playgrounds of childhood. I didn’t dare mention the destroyed fields, the uprooted trees and the olive trees that were stolen and replanted at the entrance of settlements as decoration. I wrote of the hills and the poppies and hoped they would see the Palestinian spring and remember our flower-search adventures. I didn’t dare mention the alien settler houses that are popping on every hill and murdering the flowers. I wrote of school, of classes, homework and exams, how tiresome it all was. I didn’t dare mention schools that were bombed and school children that were hunted down by Israeli snipers. I wrote of housework, of dusting and washing the dishes and how boring it all was. I didn’t dare mention playing with my friends because I feared reminding them of their childhood friends who were killed by Israeli soldiers. And although I knew that my uncles in their imprisonment knew exactly what was going on outside their prison cells, knew of the ongoing oppression, I kept telling writing to them that we were all fine, that everything was fine. I didn’t dare mention my little cousin who wakes ups crying at night after nightmares about Israeli soldiers beating her mother. I didn’t dare mention that the Israeli soldiers beat my grandmother several times with their rifles and clubs, how they often raided the house and left destruction behind them, how they shot and injured my friend, how they demolished our neighbours’ house, how they kill, how they destroy, how they oppress and oppress. I didn’t dare mention so much, because I wanted my uncles to know that despite all the Zionist terror we are steadfast, that despite the Zionist efforts to kill us and kill our souls we are alive and our hearts are beating and our souls are thriving, stronger than ever, yearning for freedom, full of hope, that despite all we are unbreakable.

And today, dear brothers and sisters, writing to you, I don’t dare mention how your sacrifices are used to promote “others”. I don’t dare mention how some who claim to represent us use your suffering as a bargaining chip, use your cause as a playing card, remember you when it pleases them and serves their interests and ignore you when they get the orders to do so. I don’t dare mention how they are selling out your and our rights, how they are cashing in on your and our suffering. I don’t dare mention how your homes are raided, your families detained and tortured not only by the Israeli occupier but also by those who coordinate with the occupier, who negotiate with the occupier and who claim to represent us. I don’t dare mention how you, all of you comrades, are no longer seen as one, as the children of Palestine, as heroes, but are categorized according to the wills and terms of the occupiers, of those who “pay”, of some of who claim “solidarity” with you and us. I don’t dare mention how they will only support your cause and your fight for freedom when you and your fight for freedom apply to their categorization. I don’t dare mention how they set up blogs, write one petition after the other, beg this and that international figure to demand the release of the “chosen ones” amongst you because they are categorized as “peace activists”, because they are categorized as “non-violent activists”, as if you were the “war activists” or the “violent ones”, as if you were the ones to be forgotten, the ones who don’t count. I don’t dare mention how your mothers cry in secret and how your fathers shake their head in sadness when they see calls for the release of some, while many of you remain no more than a number to add to the end of their petitions. They forget or choose to forget that resistance is legitimate, that the occupation is illegitimate. They forget or choose to forget that occupied people have the right to fight their oppressors, to defend their families and their homes with whatever means they choose or see fit. They choose to ignore that real solidarity knows no boundaries, no limits and no classification, that if the Palestinians choose armed resistance it is their choice and if they choose peaceful resistance it is their choice, and that if they choose both, it is and will always be the choice of the Palestinian people and no one, NO ONE, has the right to dictate to the Palestinians steadfast in occupied Palestine what they have to do and what choices to make and what categorizations to follow.

I don’t dare mention so much, but I will tell you that even if some abandon you and forget your suffering, we haven’t and never will. They talk of you in conferences, in their speeches, reduce you and your cause and your suffering to a mere number, tossed here and there, but to us you all have names, have faces, have a story to tell. They talk of understanding your suffering, of knowing it. No, don’t listen to them, for they know not what imprisonment is, they know not what oppression is, they who coordinate with the occupier. Don’t listen to them when they tell you they feel your suffering or when they tell you they are as imprisoned as you are, they who live in villas next to refugee camps, those who ride Mercedes that come extra with a driver, those who dine and wine in luxury restaurants and hotels in Tel Aviv. They know not what it means to hunger for freedom, because they sold their own freedom and want to sell ours. They don’t know what it means to remain steadfast in a dark cell, dream of the blue sky over Jerusalem, the sun shining over Al-Jalil, the fresh breeze over Akka, because they deleted these from their memory as well as from their maps. Don’t listen to them, for they seek captivity while you seek freedom.

Dear Palestinian sister, dear Palestinian brother,

Every morning and every evening, and the time that is in between, my grandmother used to wonder what her children were doing. 3, 4 and often 5 of my uncles would be imprisoned at the same time. With every meal, my grandmother would wonder what they were eating, if they were eating. On feast days she knew little happiness. She never had a moment’s rest while even one of them was in a Zionist jail. I think of her and think of your mothers, your fathers, brothers, sisters, partners and children. I don’t have the words of the mother who hasn’t hugged her child for over 20 years. I don’t have the words of a father who lies dying and hopes for a final smile from his detained child. I don’t have the words of a child who yearns for the parent, and in several cases both parents, who have been locked up away since many countless nights. But I know what it feels like to be locked up, to be humiliated by Israeli jailors, to be interrogated by Zionist criminals, to count the minutes, the seconds, and I know how it feels to hunger for the face of someone you love, to watch them through barbed wires and not be able to touch them, to want to cry at the injustice but keep a smile plastered to your face. I wish I could write a letter to every single one of you, I wish I could hug every one of you, I wish I could tell you how much we love you. The campaign is over, but you are not forgotten. Many of us know what it means to be imprisoned and how it feels. We feel with every one of you, we feel your suffering and pain, we hear your thoughts and cries, we touch your tears and heart beats. We feel you and think of you when we go sleep in our comfortable beds while you sleep on rotten mattresses in cold cells. We write about you in our blogs, while you hunger for a book to read. We sing about you and your heroism while you hunger for the voice of your parents, siblings and children, while you hunger for the singing of the birds in the early morning, for the music of the fields on a rainy day. The world might forget you, those who claim to represent us might forget you, they might ignore you, but we won’t and as long as you are not free, we won’t be free and no matter what they claim, because your captivity is our captivity, your freedom is our freedom. Your steadfastness makes us strong, keeps us strong. We won’t tire, we will fight for the freedom of each and every one of you: you are all one, you are all heroes; the heroes fighting for justice; the heroes of Palestine.

Israel: Occupation or Apartheid?

The dreaded “A-Word” has once again made its way into Israeli media, not by a leftist “self-hating Jew”, but by a prominent Israeli politician, the Minister of Defense, who is a decorated soldier and a former prime minister as well. “A” is for Apartheid.
An awful word that evokes awful memories, presumably left behind in the annals of history in places such as Soweto and Cape Town. A word that has invited rage, insults, and attacks against a former US president who received a Nobel Peace Prize.
This past Tuesday, however, Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned that if Israel does not achieve a peace deal with the Palestinians, it will have to become a binational state or be an undemocratic apartheid one if it remains as it is.
“The simple truth is, if there is one state” including Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, “it will have to be either binational or undemocratic. … if this bloc of millions of Palestinians cannot vote, that will be an apartheid state,” Barak said at the Herzliya Conference north of Tel Aviv.
Though rarely used by Israeli leaders in connection to the Palestinians, the term “apartheid” is becoming more common to describe the current reality on the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
More than two years ago, on the anniversary of the 1947 UN partition plan that would have divided British mandate Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state, then Prime Minister Ehud Olmert warned of this same scenario. In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Ha’aretz, Ehud Olmert said Israel was “finished” if it forced the Palestinians into a struggle for equal rights.
If the two-state solution collapsed, he said, Israel would “face a South African-style struggle for equal voting rights, and as soon as that happens, the state of Israel is finished”.

But veteran Israeli journalist David Michaelis believes that a South African-style apartheid system has already emerged due to Israel’s prolonged occupation of Palestinian territories.

“What Ehud Barak intended to do is to send a stark warning that Israel is heading towards a binational situation; however, we are already in a binational situation, and an apartheid system that’s working very well for the Israeli military and government.”

Five years ago David Michaelis and I jointly interviewed Palestinians and Israelis about the prospect of a binational state. Most Palestinians we spoke to then were thinking of independence and most Israelis were thinking of separation. At the time, the Israeli government was frantically building the Separation Wall, and only a handful of Israelis entertained the idea of binational coexistence. One such person we interviewed who predicted what Ehud Barak is currently cautioning of was Meron Benvenisti, a former Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem.

Benvenisti has recently published an elaborate article in Ha’aretz chronicling how Israel became a de facto binational regime.

“The attempt to mark the settlements, and the settlers, as the major impediment to peace is a convenient alibi, obfuscating the involvement of the entire Israeli body politic in maintaining and expanding the regime of coercion and discrimination in the occupied territories, and benefiting from it,” he argued.

According to him, the violent events of the (second) intifada brought the Jewish-Israeli public to a crossroads in relation to their neighbors-enemies. Benvenisti argues that Israeli-Jews turned their backs on the Palestinians, erasing them from their consciousness and imprisoning them behind impenetrable walls, and became willing to congregate in a ghetto and pray that the Mediterranean might dry up or a bridge be built to connect them with Europe.

This mentality is manifested in two, recently constructed, architectural monuments whose symbolism transcends their functional value: The gigantic Separation Wall and the colossal Ben Gurion air terminal. The former is meant to hide the Palestinians and erase them from Israeli consciousness and the latter serves as an escape gateway.

David Michaelis concurs and believes that most Israelis prefer to live in denial and avoid the subject of apartheid.

“The peace process is a misnomer, and the word occupation is misleading because it’s really about systematic control.”

How long can Israelis live in this denial and pretend that apartheid-like conditions do not exist?
Well you’ve heard the expression, “If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck…”
