Al-Quds Brigades Announce General Mobilization to Defend Detainees in ‘Israeli’ Occupation Prisons

By Staff

Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement in Occupied Palestine Ziad al-Nakhala asserted that the movement won’t leave its sons as victims in the arms of the enemy inside the occupation prisons, and therefore will be by their side and back them up as much as it can, “even if that requires going to a war for their good.”

“No agreement or anything else will prevent us from doing so,” al-Nakhala added in a brief statement on Wednesday evening.

For its part, al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad military wing, announced in a statement the general mobilization among its fighters.

“We are completely poised and at full readiness after we had received the declaration of the SG about the conditions our heroic detainees are being exposed to inside the occupation prisons with a big responsibility”, it added.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club had asserted earlier that part of the Islamic Jihad detainees have started a hunger strike, as they are asking the occupation prisons administration to halt its increased, cruel measures it had imposed on them and that mainly aim at the organizational structure of the Islamic Jihad through current measures.

The leading body of the Islamic Jihad Movement asserted that its resistance fighters in all the prisons are on a hunger strike entitled “The battle of defending the heritage of the detainee’s movement and its organizational structure.”

The commission pointed out that ending the strike won’t be possible unless a consultation takes place between the members of the highest leadership commission, the Representation Commission of the Islamic Jihad, the chief wardens, and the General Consultative Council.

It also called for the return of the members of Islamic Jihad to the sections, cells, and places of detention they had been in before September 6, along with assembling them in Ramon, Majdo, and Ofer prisons in three sections only.

Palestinian Prisoners Continue Hunger Strike, Boycott ‘Israeli’ Courts

Palestinian Prisoners Continue Hunger Strike, Boycott ‘Israeli’ Courts

By Staff, Agencies

A number of Palestinian prisoners languishing in Zionist occupation jails have been on hunger strike for months to protest their arbitrary incarceration under inhumane conditions and to demand freedom.

Imprisoned under the so-called policy of “administrative detention,” at least seven Palestinian prisoners are registering their protest against their ill-treatment and repressive ‘Israeli’ policies in illegal detention through hunger strikes and boycotting military court hearings.

Kayed Fasfous has been on hunger strike for 76 days, Mikdad Qawasme for 69 days, followed by Hisham Abu Hawwash for 43 days, Rayeq Bisharat for 38 days, Shadi Abu Aker for 35 days, and Hasan Shoukeh for 9 days, according to prisoners’ advocacy groups.

Qawasme was recently shifted to a hospital following a rapid deterioration of his health, while Fasfous and three other inmates have been put in Ramla prison clinic, Palestinian Prisoners’ Society [PPS] said in a statement.

A 24-year-old resident of the southern occupied West Bank city of al-Khalil, Qawasme recently decided to up the ante by refusing to take any supplements or intravenous fluids during the indefinite strike.

PPS has expressed grave concern over his deteriorating condition, including extreme weight loss, low heart rate, shortness of breath, blurry vision, migraines and severe pain, and inability to stand.

Under the “administrative detention” policy, the Zionist occupation regime has been detaining Palestinians without legal trial or charges for long periods of time.

To protest the Zionist occupation’s use of administrative detention and neglect of ailing Palestinian prisoners, at least five other Palestinian prisoners have announced that they would boycott the Zionist military courts and refuse to take any medicine.

Apartheid from the Sea to the River

BTselem apartheid Israel Palestine Latuff 46b11

B’Tselem’s description of Israel an apartheid state is valuable because B’Tselem, Israel’s leading human rights organization, is saying it.  Otherwise, the reaction should be of course it is. B’Tselem applies the word to all of Palestine and not just the remaining territories seized in 1967.  Again, of course it should.  Structural discrimination against the Palestinians is built into every level of government except elections,  which allows Israel repeatedly to tell the world that it is the only democracy in the Middle East, as if the ballot box is the only measure of democracy, blurring the reality unless people take a close look.

Israel and the policy of apartheid were born in the same year, 1948,  Israel as a colonial-settler declared unilaterally over occupied Palestine on May 15 and apartheid as the election-winning policy of South Africa’s National Party on May 26. On December 9 the same year, the UN General Assemby adopted the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide.

The convention describes genocide as acts intended to destroy “in whole or part” a national,  ethnical, racial or religious group.   There is no other way to describe Israel’s intentions in 1948.  Hundreds of Palestinian villages were razed and about 800,000 people driven out of their native land to make way for European settlers.   As for why they had to go there are two reasons:   they were not Jews,  and they were living in a land the zionists wanted to turn into a Jewish state.

The occupation of the rest of Palestine in 1967 and the military, economic and pseudo-legal weapons used to suffocate the Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem ever since are no more than an extension of what began in 1948.

B’tselem’s declaration revives the debate over whether zionism is a ‘racist’ ideology.  For the victims of racism in other colonized countries,  of course it is. Only in the imperial ‘west,’ with its own long history of racism, occupation and massacre, could the question even arise.

In fact, racism has been in zionism’s DNA ever since Herzl talked of “spiriting” the Palestians out of their land to make way for a Jewish state.   How to get rid of them was the central consideration of the Zionist planners who followed him.

Everything evil committed against the Palestinians since 1948 speaks to the historical racism of the zionist enterprise.  You don’t treat people with the brutality that has accompanied the zionist march through history if you think they have the same rights as you do. Your soldiers, police and settlers do not kill or massacre people if they think they have the same right to life as they do.

Your state doesn’t create different laws and different rights if it thinks all people should have the same rights and live under the same laws. The state does not give a false right of return to Jews wherever they live and deny the genuine right of return of Palestinians. The state does not declare that the state is the state of the Jewish people and not the state of  its citizens,  Jewish or not.

On November 10, 1975, the UN General Assembly passed resolution 3379,  describing zionism “as a form of racism and racial discrimination.” The word ‘race’ has no basis in science but everyone knows what it means in practice:   discrimination against specific groups on the basis of religion, ethnicity or skin color.  The Israeli ambassador,  Chaim Herzog,  was so enraged when the resolution was passed (72-35 with 32 abstentions) that he tore up his printout.

The passage of this resolution led to an immediate counter-attack by Israel, supported by the US and other governments.   As always, the bludgeon used was anti-semitism, with the US, from behind the scenes, prodding governments that had voted for the resolution to change their minds.  The tactics worked. On December 16,1991, the General Assembly revoked the resolution in resolution 46/86, passed 111-25 with 13 abstentions and 15 absentees.

Daniel Moynihan, the US ambassador at the UN and a zionist diehard, commented before 3379 was revoked that the UN “is about to make anti-semitism international law.” Of course, the resolution had nothing to do with anti-semitism but was born of the growing need to expose the ideology of a state which even by then had wrought massive destruction in the Middle East.

On the basis of  the commitments it had made to respect UN principles,   Israel was accepted as a UN member (Resolution 273, May 11, 1949), the General Assembly having resolved  that Israel “is a peace-loving State which accepts the obligations contained in the charter and is able and willing to carry  out those obligations.”  The next day it signed a protocol accepting resolution 194 (III) of 1948, setting out the basic rights of the Palestinians, including the right of return to their homeland, and the preservation of their property.

Nothing could have been further from the truth. Even at the time Israel was not “peace loving”: in hindsight the phrase is grotesque.  Neither did Israel have any intention of abiding by the commitments it had made to the Palestinians whom it had ethnically cleansed.  They would never be allowed to return.

As for their property,  Israel was asked to suspend its ‘’Emergency Applications on Absentee Property’’ until a final peace settlement could be reached.  It responded that the so-called “custodian of absentee property” was acting only as a trustee for the owners,  “whose property is being administered in their interests.”

This was a blatant lie. The “absentee property” was already being distributed among settlers old and new. It included village and town houses and a mass of agricultural land which had Chaim Weizmann, the state’s first president, in absolute raptures.  So much of it, and all of it acquired at absolutely no cost:

“ … about five million dunums of land [1.235 million acres] at least which could be taken under the plough almost at once,  but we have not yet got the people. In the district between Ramleh and Latrun there are about two milion dunums of the best land in Palestine for which, if we had to buy it, we would have to pay at least LP [Palestine pounds] per dunum and as you know, one could never buy land between Ramleh and Latrun. Now it is all free, overgrown with weeds and it is very doubtful whether the Arabs will ever come back to work it. Eveybody seems to think they have gone for good.”

This master dissembler knew perfectly well that Israel had no intention of allowing  ‘the Arabs’ back,  and as for a land “overgrown with weeds,” it was fertile and intensively worked by Palestinian farmers.

Everything the owners of “absentee property” had left behind was destroyed or stolen, down to furniture and small household items. The houses left standing were handed over to settlers,  senior zionist figures taking some of the best for themselves.

An additional category was added to the list of absentees. These were the “present absentees” who fled from one part of Palestine to another during the fighting.   They were not allowed back to their original place of residence and their property was stolen too.

The lies told by Israel to secure UN membership were followed by the serial violations of Palestinian rights and international law along the spectrum of human rights which have continued to the present day.

This being the case,  the rules of the club should surely prevail.  Anyone who joins a club and refuses to abide by the rules is usually warned once, warned twice,  suspended on the third offence and then thrown out if it still ignores the conditions of membership.

Israel was admitted to the club on the basis of a false application.  It then refused to obey the rules, not once, twice or thrice but thousands of times but is still allowed to remain a member.

Without the protection of the US, the UN General Assembly almost certainly would have voted for suspension of Israel decades ago and then ejection if it still refused to comply.   Thanks to the US, however, not only does  Israel remain a member but it is never punished for its crimes.

Noam Chomsky has described Israeli apartheid as “much worse” than South African apartheid. On the basis of the number of people who have died as a result of Israel’s racist policies, there is actually no comparison.

Under an apartheid government,  South African police, soldiers and white settlers beat, tortured and killed Africans.  Israeli police, soldiers and settlers do the same to Palestinians but whereas the worst state massacres in apartheid South Africa were Sharpeville (March 21, 1960), when police killed 69 people and wounded 180 others demonstrating against the pass laws,  and Soweto (June 16, 1976),  when at least 176 students (estimates are as high as 700) demonstrating against having to learn Afrikaans were killed,  the victims of Israel’s massacres run into the tens of thousands.

This state of affairs will continue as long as the “international community” refuses to punish Israel for violation of the laws it has passed to protect human rights and preserve global peace.  Such punishment would be imposed through suspension from the UN and the suspension by governments of diplomatic and trade relations with Israel, but as long as it does not have to pay for its crimes and its contempt for international law it will see no reason to change.   As long as it refuses to change, it will remain a threat to Middle Eastern regional and global peace.

Bahrain’s Clerics: The Best Jihad Is To Tell a Word of Truth before a Tyrannical Ruler

Bahrain’s Clerics: The Best Jihad Is To Tell a Word of Truth before a Tyrannical Ruler

By Sondoss al-Asaad

On the eve of February 14 revolution, Bahrain’s religious scholars or the Ulama applauded the Bahrainis’ faith in the righteousness of their cause against the arrogant tyrants’ injustice and corruption.

In a statement, the scholars added that it is by this faith the people have been confronting the oppressive regime for prolonged years of injustice and aggression and the status quo has relatively been constant in light of the government’s bogus reforms and its denunciation of many covenants.

The Bahrainis profoundly reject despotism and experience has shown that they are hard to succumb to injustice neither do Bahrain settles in its shadow; hence, comprehending this dogma is the only gateway to resolve the crisis and to take the country to safety, stability, development and prosperity, the scholars averred.

The scholars renewed commitment, loyalty and devotion to His Eminence Ayatollah Isa Qassim; to the righteous martyrs and their families who have shown supreme epics of steadfastness; to Bahrain’s wounded, patient and detained people; and predominantly to God Almighty.

They pledged to carry on their uprising against injustice and dictatorship and that they do not condone the oppression of the people.

The statement reaffirmed the scholars’ assertion that the victory of the people is imperative because of their righteousness and the law of God Almighty states that the oppressed is superior.

They stated that they are fully confident of God’s promise and promised victory, and confident in the wisdom of their leadership; the sincerity of their national symbols; the unflinching patience, solidity and willingness of their people.

The scholars also reiterated the Bahrainis’ adherence to their legitimate demand of having a just government and a constitution through which they determine their destiny; and their inalienable political right to freedom and dignity, especially what relates their religious rituals, sanctities and statutes, which have not been spared from the government’s aggression.

They also affirmed that in light of their leadership’s shrewdness, popular figure’s resilience and people’s awareness; all attempts by the regime to circumvent over these demands have been and would ultimately fail.

The Bahrainis’ exceptional allegiance to Ayatollah Isa Qassim, from diversified affiliations orientations, especially at this stage, the statement noted, would strengthen their unity in front of the unprecedented arrogance practised by the government, the scholars emphasised.

They added that the people’s trust in this leadership would undoubtedly pave the path, in the better means, to a bona fide cooperation, stemming from the commonalities and the legitimate responsibilities they share.

The Bahraini scholars further affirmed the people’s conviction to the nonviolent revolution approach as a strategic option, which has demonstrated its reasonability and inevitability, as a prerequisite to the permanence and survival of the movement; this approach is today confirmed more than ever.

They then called upon Bahrain’s promising young generation; chiefly those with leadership qualifications, to peacefully revive the revolution, adding the Bahrainis’ hope reckon on their vitality and vigour and are looking for their revolutionary fingerprints on the eve of the ninth anniversary of the revolution and in the upcoming years.

The scholars then expressed extreme indebtedness to Bahrain’s beloved sons who are unfairly chased by the authority; the wounded; the detainees; the martyred, saying all Bahrainis are charged with the duty to stand by them, to check their conditions and to strive to fulfil their needs.

On the glorious 14th anniversary of February revolution, the day of standing with just and truth, the statement, at last, urged all loyal people to take actions by their words, positions, pens, footages and all available and peaceful means; to partake in the held events, peaceful marches and field tours and on social media platforms.

Your movement is an ethical and religious obligation, based on the Islamic principle that the best jihad is to tell a word of truth before a tyrannical ruler, the scholars concluded.

Packing Hasbara 2015, Targeting Gilad Atzmon, Loading Anti-Semite and Holocaust-denier attacks…

March 12, 2015  /  Gilad Atzmon

GA: This is a very interesting article by Shawn Robinson.  It delves into the methods in which criticism of the Jewish State, its ideology and culture are suppressed.

Packing Hasbara 2015, Targeting Gilad Atzmon, Loading Anti-Semite and Holocaust-denier attacks…

By Shawn Robinson

So who is Gilad Atzmon the ant-Semite and Holocaust-denier de jour?

Well for one, he is a former Israeli and now British citizen living in London England; but his claim to fame is as a world renowned jazz saxophonist and writer on identity politics.

And he is no schmuck either. He has a Masters in Philosophy from the University of Essex in Colchester, England after being schooled in composition and jazz at the Rubin Academy of Music in Jerusalem.

Gilad Atzmon Video

As an Israeli you have guessed it, Atzmon is Jewish and therefore Semitic. So by definition he can be hardly an anti-Semite. But something needs to be said here, just as a point of reference that there are more than 50 groups that fall under the Semitic category. The commonality of this foundation is the derivations of the Semitic languages that relate and stem from the Hebrew dialect. Others often maligned as anti-Semites are the Arabs who too are of the 50 plus Semitic peoples.

It is absurd to continue this precept of anti-Semitism in its current construct. Hate directed towards the Jewish people is not acceptable and nor is discrimination or prejudice that Jewish people have experienced for thousands of years.

Knowing the origin of the term anti-Semite, which not that long ago was a construct that was considered normal in particularly the western Christian communities, it really needs to be released from the narrative of the Jewish community as it is not an appropriate term at all. As to refer to someone as ant-Semitic would by definition indicate that they are against a broader group of people beyond the Judaic population.

Furthermore… when someone makes a claim of anti-Semitism, it needs to be not presented as a conclusion ever. Clear and defined statements need to be presented that indicate and prove the construct of anti-Semitism before making such an allegation as these days allegations of anti-Semitism abound unfettered leaving the victim of this accusation with an indelible mark on their name and reputation.

But my personal favourite is the accusation of holocaust-denial.

What more sickening slander can be allocated on someone than to suggest the suffering and systematic mass murder of any people did not happen.

So with regards to Gilad Atzmon, and knowing that various reporters including Blake Alcott of the respected magazinecounterpunch actually read and evaluated the writings of Atzmon in 2013, concluded that he was NOT what he was accused of – being an anti-Semite or holocaust-denier can be reviewed, assessed and determined from that article:

To Shun or Bury the Hatchet? The Case of Gilad Atzmon by BLAKE ALCOTT

So moving on because there really is no basis on the accusations, but what must be clearly stated, is that Atzmon is being slandered with these accusations that have the potential to be socially deprecating career killing labels. What needs to be exposed is that the pro-Israeli lobbies who are able to falsely target people with impunity do so because of the silence of the masses including the media who could shut all this down in one day.

Yes, the pro-Israeli lobby is a machine that is backed up by lots of money, eager lawyers and the mentality of people to drain the victim financially and emotionally. This sends a loud message that sets the precedence to others to stay quiet, to not speak out, to not support the targeted person publicly or to criticize or demand Israel to account for its crimes.

With the various definitions of fascism, I would say this is a fascist mentality and action in the way of the State of Israel and its lobby groups go about organizing society that controls the lives of the people and in which people are not allowed to disagree with the State of Israel and its policies.

Latuff 2.gif

What is horrific is the media bolstered by the journalism community who are not doing their jobs which is to report the news, who with their complicity in silence maintain and further abrogate the denial of an important discussion including the crimes of the State of Israel, the slow genocide of the Palestinians and the persecution of those who come forward with evidence and knowledge to right terrible wrongs. Atzmon even takes it a step further by linking Jewish identity politics and their impact within world history. I would also add in how they have also been hi-jacked by the Zionist entity who fund these pro-Israeli lobby groups that in their missions, co-opt Judaism and its meanings.

Reflecting back we have the story of Dr. Norman Finkelstein. Yes he appeared on the AIPAC radar with his PhD thesis in the 1980s proving Joan Peter’s book “From Time Immemorial” was a fraud. He exposed the information that could not be substantiated are accepted within the scholarly construct that she presented herself as a respected journalist when she published her book.

Having read the Peter’s book and Edward Said’s “Blaming the Victim”, I have to agree with Dr. Finkelstein and I find it offensive that such a book is considered to be noteworthy never mind permitted as a source in other books including Dr. Alan Dershowitz’s “The Case for Israel”.

Dr. Finkelstein’s “crimes” however were to challenge the notions on subjects such as the holocaust money making industry that did not bring reparations or resolution of any meaning or value to the survivors or to the families of people systematically murdered in Europe. It should be noted that it took 350,000 employed Christian Europeans and various European governments between the 30s until the liberation of the thousands of camps within the massive concentration camp system in Europe by the Allies and Soviets in 1945.

latuff 4.jpg

But it really was Dr. Finkelstein’s exposure of another fraud, on Democracy Now, hosted by Amy Goodman on Dr. Dershowitz’s book “The Case for Israel”. One of the best recorded discussions ever I have to say, and it was Dr. Finkelstein who with his comprehensive knowledge, detailed facts and categorical evidence who was able to put the truth in perspective in spite of Dr. Dershowitz’s efforts to distract from his false claims.

This would be the undoing of Dr. Finkestein who dared to challenge Dr. Dershowitz, America’s appointed voice on Judaic and Israeli history, along with American foreign policy and America’s requirement to protect Israel from in my opinion itself, but according to Dr. Dershowitz’s statements, the forces that want to annihilate Israel.

So long story long, Dr. Finkelstein found himself the target of an odious and slanderous campaign by Dr. Dershowitz and others that would publicly result in Dr. Finkelstein’s denial of tenure at DePaul University. All I will say is that DePaul complied with the process of granting tenure, which by democratic process was going to give tenure to Dr. Finkelstein which was suddenly overturned by one individual who by Dr. Dershowitz’s good fortune, was in the position to ruin Dr. Finkelstein’s reputation and ability to work as an educator. Denial of tenure does not bode well for any scholar or professor of which Dr. Finkelstein found himself in with regards to his future employment. Never mind that he was a popular professor and that his classes were always filled to capacity.

Getting back to the Atzmon issue of free speech.

latuff 5.jpg.gif

There is something that people need to stand for no matter where, how or for whom, and that is the human right of freedom of speech also known as freedom of expression or right to free speech.

In the United Kingdom, this concept of free speech goes back to 1689 when the Bill of Rights granted parliamentary privilege for freedom of speech and debates along with proceedings in Parliament which is still in effect.

Yes, the United Kingdom is a member of the European Union, so just to be clear, it is also defined and justly so in 1998 when the United Kingdom accepted the European Convention, and the guarantee of freedom of expression which is contained in Article 10, integrating it into the United Kingdom’s domestic law under the Human Rights Act.

Freedom of expression does not include racial incitement, or threats or a list of other negative uses that attack or subjugate an individual or people. See below for links to texts and commentaries that identify specifically these concerns if you are so interested.

latuff 6

Atzmon does not incite or subjugate anyone. What he does in his texts is take on a difficult conversation as a former Israeli, former soldier of the Israeli Defense Forces, as a former Israeli nationalist, as a former Jew even, and does so philosophically and politically. His “mistake” seems to be to open a discussion on Zionism and the State of Israel outside of the defined parameters that Dr. Dershowitz and the pro-Israeli lobby groups have determined for all of us.

I will not speak for anyone, particularly a Jewish person and what they feel or think or have concluded about their ethno-religious culture slash identity, however I will fight the forces that deny them to write about it.

Which is in many international laws and decrees, these rights to free expression including the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights that granted formal recognition on the laws of most nations including the United Kingdom to preserve the inherent human right to voice one’s opinion publicly without fear of censorship or punishment.

To deny a voice is to censor the message.

phrases “ant-Semitic” and “holocaust-denier”, as members of all societies, we retreat and distance ourselves from such ideas and people which these pro-Israeli lobby groups well know.

These actions on Atzmon since mid-January have resulted in the cancellation of two performances at prestigious and well-known venues and now a third venue is being threatened with a public boycott by Jewish groups if they allow Atzmon and his ensemble to perform in their scheduled concerts.

The second venue that cancelled did so because they felt threatened and the need to be protective of their 800 students, which should be their priority.

How did that even happen, that they would feel insecure physically and that their students were at risk for the sake of a performance by a jazz saxophonist? Where is the Metropolitan Police? How is a Jewish lobby group allowed to threaten a world renowned concert venue and conservatory to cancel the performance of Atzmon and his ensemble, and nothing is investigated?

Even with the signing of almost 4000 signatures calling on the second venue, the Royal Northern Music College to reconsider and reschedule the performance which they are so stricken with silence due to fear of terror and being also hatefully labeled.

latuf 7

So what are we going to do about that and all this?

Because once Atzmon is 100% unable to schedule a performance, they will move on to their next target that they will victimize as systematically supported by our ears and eyes, looking the other way.

No one under attack is saying anything other than the truth. The State of Israel is committing war crimes whether they be illegal settlements or dropping phosphorus on an unarmed civilian population.

lattuf 8

Why does Israel and its supporters keep getting free passes to terrorize and harass people either collectively or individually? Even in my own country Canada, the current conservative government is trying to pass legislation that criticisms of Israel will be deemed anti-Semitic making the criticizer subject to legal charges

lattuf 9

Atzmon is not the only former Israeli Jew who has something to say. Others are also working hard to dispel the myths and propaganda. Are they next on the target list? Or what about human right activists who have no claim or stake in any of this, but to seek humanity for all in that region?

This I know. Many people want to support Atzmon but they are afraid of these pro-Israeli lobbies. They have mortgages to pay and mouths to feed and don’t want to risk their families’ futures. But silence is not justice, it is not an answer and is an important ingredient in this cocktail of propaganda that is disabling the world.

If a Jewish person can’t create a conversation on the Jewish religion and its identity within the political realm, who can? Ask yourselves that.

These pro-Israeli lobby groups need to be exposed. They receive tax advantages that help fund destructive campaigns like the ones that went after Dr. Finkelstein, Dr. Steven Salaita and the cartoonist Carols Latuff whose work is used in this article.

lattuf 10

Now they are currently attempting to derail Atzmon and his ability to work as a musician.

Look at your community. Are there any other lobby groups with the same missions?

These lobby groups are not only sustained through substantial funding but are in existence to promote the propaganda (hasbara) that continues the denial of the Palestinians and their suffering while elevating the Israelis as perpetual victims in a region that the majority of Israelis are being of European descent, and have no cultural ties or long term connection. Does that make sense?

lattuf 11

Because the pro-Israeli lobby groups are now very engrained in government policies and pro-Israeli individuals are able to work within these governments in positions in which they can influence foreign policy that makes our countries complicit in the crimes against humanity that are being inflicted on the Palestinian people, not only openly but with impunity which is sustained by our silence, and violates everything that we have in terms of international law and even the construct of the United Nations, which was to prevent genocide and war.

lattuf 12

So is Atzmon going to be the next victim or an example of why we worked so hard to have freedom of speech?

Maybe ask Dr. Steven Salaita?

lattuf 13

You decide.

Like all mentioned in this article, I do not necessarily agree with all that they have to say but I will always stand for them to be able to express their views and understandings. I am sure that people do not necessarily always agree with me and I welcome the opportunity to be enlightened. For the record the basis of all my arguments and writings are human rights supported by international humanitarian law.

My Ode to Carlos Latuff: I am a fan of his work and I do at times blink hard when I see his latest cartoons however I give him my respect for also not shying away from creating a conversation on various subjects including anti-globalization, anti-capitalism, anti-imperialism, anti-racism, anti-fascism, anti-Americanism, anti-Zionism, Marxism, socialism, feminism, indigenous rights…

Netanyahu expressed opposition on Sunday to freezing settlement construction on the Palestinian land as a condition for the extension of talks between Tel Aviv and the Palestinian Authority. Today, he Sets Condition for Peace Talks: Right of Return Abolished, and recognizing Israel as a Jewish state

From Yamouk to Palestine

Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed Tuesday that there will be no peace agreement with the Palestinians without canceling the right of return for Palestinian refugees and recognizing what he called “the Jewish state of Israel.”

“I will not bring a deal that doesn’t cancel the [refugees’] ‘right of return’ and doesn’t include Palestinian recognition of the Jewish state,” Netanyahu’s spokesperson Ofir Gendelman said on his official Twitter feed.

From Yarmouk to no where. 2012

Netanyahu’s remarks were made in an address to the ruling rightwing Likud-Beitenu faction. He touched on one of the most critical aspects of the peace talks with the Palestinian State and one which looks likely to derail US efforts to extend the negotiations beyond a looming April deadline.

The Palestinians have systematically refused Netanyahu’s demand that they recognize the so-called ‘Israel’ as the ‘Jewish state’, saying it would deny their historical narrative and effectively cancel out the right of their refugees to return to homes that they fled from or were forced out of during the 1948 war which accompanied the creation of the occupation entity.

British cartoon depicts Netanyahu a “bloodthirsty Jew”

On the eve of the Holocaust Memorial Day, the British weekly, The Sunday Times, irked the Jewish groups for posting a cartoon depicting large-nozed Benjamin Netanyahu hunched over a wall building with blood and limbs of writhing Palestinians in pain (See the cartoon on top left).

The caption beneath the cartoon said: “Israeli election: will cementing peace continue?” In my earlier post, I predicted that Netanyahu would bring a worse four-year of horor for the US and the Middle East. Read the post here.

The Jewish lobby groups immediately snapped “antisemite” title on the cartoonist, Gerald Scarfe and the weekly newspaper. The paper’s management, however, defended cartoonist’s rights under ‘freedom of press’ by saying: “This is a typical robust cartoon by Gerald Scarfe. The Sunday Times firmly believes that it’s not antisemitic. It’s aimed squarely at Netanyahu and his policies, not at Israel, let alone at Jewish people“. You can visit Gerald’s website here.

Michael Salberg, director of Israel lobby group ADL slammed the Sunday Times, by stating: “There is nothing subtle about the caricatured image of prime minister Netanyahu using Palestinians and their blood to build a wall to protect Israelis“.

Some Israel Hasbara outlets like,’HonestReporting‘, have called the revival of Europe’s old fashioned Blood Libel against some Jewish cults who kidnapped and killed Christian children for Jewish rituals. Italian Jewish historian, professor Ariel Toaff (University of Bar IIan, Tel Aviv) in his book, ‘The Bloody Passovers‘ has supported the allegations against the Jews.

Gerald Scarfe is the latest victim of Zionist propagandists who don’t see such true depictions of Israel’s Zionazi policies as anti-Israel or anti-Zionist – but as hatred toward the Jewish people. Last month, the Wiesenthal Center had put Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuff at third place in its annual list of top ten antisemitic slurs. The other famous victim of Zionists’ slander was Australian-born prize-winning cartoonist Pat Oliphant for depicting a Nazi-like soldier going after innocent civilian in Gaza in 2009 – published by the Jewish-owned Washington Post.

Incidently, on Friday, former French president, Crypto-Jewish Nicolas Sarkozy, during his speech at United Israel Appeal fundraising dinner in Davos – also urged the international community to apply pressure on the Zionist regime in order to establish an independent, viable and sovereign Palestinian state. “Israel has surrounded herself with walls of Jericho. It will be necessary to bring down the walls in order to save her,” reported Israeli daily Maariv.

The Sunday Times (founded in 1821) is Britain’s largest-selling national weekly paper. It’s owned by Israel-Firster billionaire Rupert Murdoch’s News International since 1981

Egypt and the Zionist Jews

Islam is an act of G-d’s mercy,” says German-born US-Israeli Jewish historian Dr. Shelomo Dov Goitein (died 1985) in book ‘Jews and Arabs’.

Jews in the near East, north Africa and Spain threw their support behind advancing Muslim Arab armies,” says Professor Merlin L. Swartz (Islamic Studies at Boston University) in book ‘The Position of Jews in Arab lands following the rise of Islam‘.

Cartoon: Netanyahu profiting politically from the Gaza deadLast month, Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood topped LA-based Simon Wiesenthal Center, an Israeli Watchdog, list of ten top anti-Israel statements made in 2012. The honor went to Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohammed Badie, who according to Israeli Hasbara translation organ MEMRI, in his Arabic sermon said: “The (Zionist) Jews have dominated the land, spread corruption on earth, spilled the blood of believers and in their actions profaned holy places. Zionists only understand the language of force and will not relent without duress. This will happen only through holy Jihad“. Like, Iranian president Dr. Ahmadinejad, who scored the second place on the list, Mohammed Badie, was too addressing the Zionist Jews and not the Yahud (the followers of Moses Law (Torah).

Brazilian cartoonist Carlos Latuf was third for the following cartoon showing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu squeezing votes into a ballot box out of the cadaver of a Palestinian child.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center is named after Simon Wiesenthal (died 2005) known as ‘Father of Holocaust culture’. Israeli historian and journalist Dr. Tom Segev in his book ‘Simon Weisenthal: The Life and Legend’ describes Weisenthal as “a fame-seeking myth-maker and an Israeli Mossad agent“.

As if that was not enough. Dr. Essam al-Erian, an adviser to Egyptian president Dr. Mohamed Morsi and a member of ruling Freedom and Justice party has recently urged Egyptian Jews living in racist Israel to return to their ancestral Arab land. Essam promised that they will receive properties left behind. He also asserted that the more Egyptian Jews return the more Palestinian natives have chance to recover their stolen homes, businesses, farms and land. His statement irked many Egyptians and Israeli Jews, who called him traitor or antisemite. Essam al-Erian who could not stand-up domestic and foreign pressure, to great relief of Israeli media, has resigned from his post two days ago.
Essam al-Erian, like former US foreign secretary Henry Kissinger, also predicted the demise of the Zionist entity within next ten years. Interestingly, Egypt’s new so-called “Shari’h-based” Constitution Article 3 stipulates, for the first time in Egyptian constitutional history, that Jews would have the right to adjudicate their personal status cases according to Jewish Talmudic law which is practiced in the state of Israel.

On January 7, Abraham Foxman, head of Israel Jewish lobby group, ADL, in a letter to Egyptian ambassador in Washington, Mohamed M. Tawfik, expressed his satisfaction on the sacking of Essam al-Erian. “We hope that President Morsi and other Egyptian government leaders will now make it clear that the defamation of Israel and Jews has no place in the country’s national dialogue,” wrote Abbe Foxman.

Several Egyptian political analysts have called this episode another proof of Morsi’s subservience to US-Israel-Turkey axis. Cairo still maintains diplomatic relation with the Zionist regime. It also brokered a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in November 2012. Last week Egyptian security forces claimed the capture of US-made anti-tank and surface-to-air missiles near Israel-Sinai border – destined for Gaza to be used against Israel by Islamic Resistance groups. Apparently, they were being smuggled from neighboring Libya which has stockpiles of US weaponry given to anti-Qaddafi rebels.
A 19th century Egyptian poet asked Muslims to become Jews as “Today the Jews have reached the summit of their hopes and have become aristocrats. Power and riches have they and from them councilors and princes are chosen“.

Mohamed Abul-Ghar, head of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party, in his 2004 book, Yahood Masr min AlIzdihar Ela AlShitat (Egyptian Jews from the bloom to the Diaspora), wrote that several among the country’s 75,000 Jews held high official positions, like Qattawi Pasha, who was appointed finance minister in 1925, and owned more than a third of the country’s registered companies by 1947. Jews were also prominent in arts and culture, helping to establish Egyptian cinema and publishing many cultural magazines. The 1948 Palestine War changed everything for Egyptian Jews, because the government closed the offices of the Zionist movement in Egypt and arrested many Zionist activists. In 1954 the Egyptian authorities uncovered a Jewish terrorist group which was targeting British and American facilities in order to show Egypt was unable to protect foreigners and minorities. The Israeli false flage operation known as Lavon Affair had a damaging effect on Egyptian Jews and led many to leave. Abul-Ghar claims that Jews did not leave Egypt as result of antisemitism but as result of 1949 law that abolished special privileges for foreigners. This affected Jews heavily because many of them held dual nationality.

Jews around the world gather in Egypt on January 15 to attend one-week long festival honoring birthday of Jewish saint Abu Hassira.

The great majority of Egyptian Muslims belong to Sunni sect. However, both Cairo city and the world-famous al-Azhar University were built by Fatmid Shia ( 969-1171 CE) rulers. The Agha Khan Trust for Culture built the huge al-Azhar Park in Cairo. The park was opened to public in 2005 and cost more than $30 million.

Palestine: Now What?

By Nahida the exiled Palestinian

We’ve just witnessed the warm embrace given to Palestine by the entire decent world, excluding of courses those who chose the side of evil, throwing themselves in an obscene disgrace, slaves at the feet of the “chosen”.

Such memorable event might not change much on the ground, however, one cannot dismiss its huge significance, that event is a signal indicating shifting of power worldwide.

Palestinians did not give up before, and they have no intention to give up now. They will continue to pursue the course of JUSTICE and LIBERATION by ALL MEANS they deem necessary and appropriate.

  • FULL LIBERATION of Historic Palestine. The Holy Land must be free from atrocities committing racists. A way must be found, to bring reason to the Holy Land, and there is no other way than to evict foreign criminals.
  •  FULL SOVEREIGNTY of the Palestinian Nation over their ancestral country: Palestine, with a constitution and a political system of their own independent choice. For the sake of International Peace and Security.
  • PROSECUTION OF WAR CRIMINALS, plans of which should start immediately without delay, A Palestinian JUDICIARY and IMMIGRATION System, will respectively prosecute former “Israeli” criminals and their associates, and/or grant or decline on an individual basis, a Right to Remain, based on criteria solely to be defined by said Immigration and Integration Services. Anyone who can prove non-participation in the ex-Israeli occupation apparatus, and who has demonstrated ability and willingness to a respectable and law-abiding conduct, will probably obtain a chance to gain unrestricted Palestinian citizenship, with equal rights.
  • RETURN, RESTITUTION and COMPENSATIONS: Palestinian refugees have the unconditional Right of Return. Palestine and the Palestinian Nation at large, are entitled to full and unconditional Restitution of their land and property whenever possible, assorted with appropriate Compensation for more than seven decades of deprivation and slow genocide, Cultural destruction, and a whole array of atrocities and usurpation. .
  •  REVOKING ISRAEL’S UN MEMBERSHIP. The racist genocidal occupation entity, which was in breach of UN Charters, which has violated and defied more UN resolutions and charter principles than any other. This illegitimate entity has no moral or legal ground whatsoever to be a member of the UN. Its membership is a disgrace on the face of humanity and a mockery of International Law. Israel’s UN membership should have never happened in the first place.

    Israel’s other Occupied Territories

    by Roy Bard
    Monday, November 26th, 2012

In light of my last article, examining the claims that a cartoon by Carlos Latuff was “almost worse that anti-Semitic”, I was interested to note how little reaction there has been, so far, to Zapiro’s recent cartoon in the South African Mail & Guardian.

Perhaps the algemeiner, which proudly boasts that it is “Labeled the fastest growing Jewish newspaper in America” and which was quick to jump on Latuff and Steve Bell for his cartoon (below), haven’t yet registered that South Africa exists ………

They’re also complaining that the “BBC’s Jon Donnison Displays a Professional and Ethical Conflict of Interests”, which roughly translates as he didn’t blame Hamas for the conflict, in line with the obvious hasbara drive that accompanied the war.

Their complaint about the BBC would probably be met with a snort of derision by Craig Murray who was so enraged by the BBC coverage that he renamed them “Beyond Belief Cunts”.

… I have just seen forty minutes of intense and non-stop Israeli propaganda. A live press conference by Netanyahu and Ehud Barak followed by a long, long interview with Mark Regev in which the most searching BBC question could fairly be paraphrased as “How can you be certain that those dastardly Palestinians will not break the ceasefire and start firing rockets again?”
No attempt whatsoever to give a Palestinian a chance to put over their viewpoint. Now fifty minutes of solid coverage around the ceasefire without a single Palestinian view or pro-Palestinian or pro-peace view. And in that entire fifty minutes not one mention of Palestinian dead.

One can only wondered if a light went off in his head as he wrote that, as in his previous post he wondered:

Why the world puts up with this blatant ethnic cleansing and prolonged, agonizing genocide of the Palestinain people, I have no idea.

The ‘Veto House’ that Zapiro draws attention to, is part of the explanation. But I reckon the attempts by the algemeiner to smear Latuff, Steve Bell and Jon Donnison , and the emergence of the social media unit of the IDF, point at another Israeli Occupied Territory – and that is the discourse about the whole issue.

And we were reminded during the conflict that retaliation against those who diverge from the hasbara path can include physical attacks.

But it seems that along with losing the conflict in Gaza, the Israelis are also taking hits in the media war. In the video below, RT journalist, Abby Martin, makes a clear response to the attacks on her and RT:

Quelle suprise that her critics were also based at “the fastest growing Jewish newspaper in America”. But it isn’t just Jewish organs that throw the accusation around – sometimes they are even on the receiving end of it.

An Ali Abunimah acolyte, Asa Winstanley accused the Jewish Chronicle of anti-Semitism, after they published an article under the headline (later changed) “Unanimous UK Jewish community support for Israel”. Fellow blogger, AZZ* Mark Elf echoed the claim. Yet it seems that in this case only AZZ’s and their friends could detect the anti-Semitism, which further suggests that the claim is often motivated by ideological bias, rather than on the basis that it a reaction to racism against all Jews. Surely most readers of the JC would recognise true Jew hatred when they saw it?

There can be no doubt that the relentless accusations do cause some people to shut-up, and there are other ways in which the discourse remains Zionist dominated. A recent Ikhras article noted:

To our knowledge, during the entire eight days of Israeli air, sea, and land bombardment of Gaza not a single authentic Palestinian-American voice or any neutral, objective expert on the Arab world was invited to appear or write in mainstream television or print media. Instead what we watched was a parade of pseudo-analysts, Arab Zionists, anti-Palestinian ideologues, self-appointed spokespersons of all stripes, and even a couple of comedians. All of them, without exception, were invited to parrot the Israel narrative, or at best, offer polite criticism of Israel in the name of Palestinians and Arab or Muslim Americans.

It is frustrating and soul-destroying to see the Palestinians come under attack again and again, whilst Israel and a myriad of Jewish groups and publications around the world attack the critics in an attempt to retain control of the discourse. And yet Israel is taking hits, the hasbara is being rejected by an increasing of number of ordinary people, and many websites, of which deLiberation is proud to be one, are dedicating time and energy to liberating the discourse.

It’s a move that hasn’t gone well with many activists. Witness expulsions from the Palestine ‘Solidarity’ campaign, and the Call for disavowal from Gilad Atzmon.

Whilst those ‘solidarity’ activists who are obsessed with anti-semitism withdraw into their activist shtetl’s, allowing the Zionists and AZZ’s to dictate who is kosher, and who is not, others of us have not forgotten that the primary focus needs to remain on Palestine and the injustice being perpetrated on the Palestinians. We will not be deterred from examining the way the discourse is being controlled, nor who is doing the controlling.

It is Zionists who are part of a genocidal, RACIST programme, and the claims that the anti-racists who oppose them are the actual racists rings increasingly hollow.

The name-calling will not stop us, any more than the bombing of buildings where journalists are based will stop journalists with integrity from presenting the truths that the Zionists and their mates work so hard to obscure. Any more than the barbarous Israeli attacks will stop resistance from Palestinians and others in the Middle East.

War on Gaza: Winners and Losers

Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr announced on Wednesday that a truce had been agreed between “Israel” and the Palestinian Resistance..

“It will come into effect at nine Cairo time, 1900 GMT,” Amr said during a joint press conference with his US counterpart Hillary Clinton.

In parallel, he stressed that “these efforts … have resulted in understandings to cease fire and restore calm and halt the bloodshed that the last period has seen.”

    For her part, Clinton said:

“The United States welcomes the agreement today for a ceasefire. In the days ahead, the United States will work with partners in the region to consolidate this progress.”

Hours after a blast rocked the Zionist entity’s capital, Tel Aviv near the War ministry, “Israeli” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office claimed he was prepared to give truce a chance.

“A short while ago Netanyahu spoke with US President Barack Obama and agreed to his recommendation to give a chance to an Egyptian proposal for a ceasefire and thereby give an opportunity for the stabilization of the situation and a calming of it,” said a statement.
Moreover, the White House reiterated that “Israel” maintains the right to defend itself.”

According to the Egyptian distributed text: “Israel” shall stop all hostilities in the Gaza Strip land sea and air, including incursions and targeting of individuals.

Moreover, all Palestinian factions shall stop all operations from the Gaza Strip against “Israel”, including rocket attacks and all attacks along the border.

Opening the crossings and facilitating the movement of people and transfer of goods and refraining from restricting residents’ free movements and targeting residents in border areas……
Gaza after the Pillar of Cloud will not be the same Gaza before.

According to Anis Naqash, whether ceasefire came into effect or not, the Palestinian rockets that fell on Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, has changed a lot of equations and post-war situation in Gaza can’t be restored to what it was before the recent aggression.

According to AnisNaqash,  of «Aman net for Strategic Studies» the consequences of the offensive on Gaza can be devided into two parts.

The military part confirmed the failure of the «Iron Dome»  system which in turn led to the downfall of the theory of Israeli deterrence for missiles, and thus Palestine became the under the fire of the missiles of resistance camp and the lack of the enimy’s ability to engage into a ground war, means inability to achieve strategic objectives because of the high cost to be incurred.

The second part, according to Anis, is the political implications regarding the timing and the conditions of the ceasefire and the behavior of the resistance parties in terms of  political orientation and alliances with Arab, regional and global powers.

The Israeli enemy avoided engagement in a ground war because of its heavy cost, while the decision of the resistance in Lebanon was clear: it is not allowed to break the resistance axis, as long as the resistance in Gaza is not in danger, the role of the Lebanese resistance is limited to the political and moral support, but in case the Palestinian resistance became in danger, then all possibilities remain open.

According to Anis, Hezbollah holds the decision to open the Lebanese frontwhile Syria, Iran and «Hezbollah» holds the decision to open Syrian front.  Despite the change of the Egyptian regime», no move is expected on the Egyptian front.  Nevertheless there is a parallel Egyptian front composed of several local and non-local organizations and local non-working to provide support to Gaza with all possibilities, and has already carried out on the border in the Sinai.
The war on caza exposed the Puppet Leaders arming the syrian opposition while on the other hand never dared to send a single bullet to Palestinian resistance…

Naqash expects Doha, after the ceasefire, would invest in the reconstruction of Gaza because a lot of prosperity weaken the resistance. He gives as example how PA transformed former freedom fighters into an army of staff waiting pensions from European countries.
Personally I agree with Anis, it happened in Lebanon, when Arafat used the Gulf petro dollar to corrupt the people and devide his opponents, mainly PFLP.

Professor Hilal Khashan, a political science professor at the American University in Beirut, has a different opinion.

In his assessment of the role of the resistance in Lebanon, Hezbollah can not open the northern front due internal difference, besides it will not change the reality on the ground in Gaza.

Hezbollah can help Gaza with weapons and expertise wihout engagement in a battle. But Khashan agrees that ground war was not on the table because of the issue of human losses, and the American veto the U.S. to such an option.

But according to great cartonist Latuff, as illustrated by his Carton posted below, Obama is voting to Bibi

Khashan believes that the Gaza war was an «ambush» set by Obama to Netanyahu (failure to resolve battle through the ground war option wild would be a major political failure for Netanyahu).

Arab Red cresenct known as Arab League
    Turkish crocodile tears
According to Khashan the Arab officials visits to Gaza during war was sponsored and their safety was guarateed by U.S., otherwise Israel would have bombed them.
Concerning the role of Egypt supporting the Palestinians, Khashan believes that Cairo despite the change of the regime can’t afford neither confront, nor disappoint America. It is insane to expect that Egypt may cancel the Camp David agreement, or may support Gaza militarily, this would be a political suicide for Egypt to get out of bilateral agreements and U.S. aid.

Khashan asserts that «Iran is a major player in the battle of Gaza, Fajr missile was the star of thr war that changed equations drawing the attention that Israel can’t hit Tahran and Iranian capabilities have not yet been tested and Israel would not dare to test them because they don’t know their extent. Israel does not know much about Iran. There is a lack of information Israel has been unable to renew its spies there.  This applies to Lebanon, Khashan says in response to a question about the possibility of a future war against Lebanon: If in Gaza Israel has failed, how will it succeed in Lebanon?
Brigadier General Elias Hanna, a retired strategic military, said: Israeli now put itself in big trouble. On the one hand, wars can’t be won by air force as evidenced by historical experiences. On the other hand, Israel can not allow the Palestinian resistance to possess long-range missile capabilities threatening the national security of the Zionist entity, and the ground war means street war, and this in turn means a long war of attrition.

Hanna excludes openning any other, because Israel drowned in Gaza, proved that Israel is unable to fight a future war, including war with Iran. Hanna also excludes Hezbollah’s engagement in war, because of the local and regional complexities. He says «as long as Israel is stuck in Gaza why to get involved. He expects the party would only prepare and monitor the situation ony forehead Gaza first and Syria second.

Hanna explains that the biggest losers from the results of the battle of Gaza will be the President of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas, because he will be just a figurehead in the long run and because Gaza has the combat capability and actual negotiating ability.

Hanna shown pessimism of the future of the Palestinian situation, being subject to marginal deterioration and further divisions. Palestinians are facing the dilemma of fact, if they seek peace, they get a quasi-state. In case of continued resistance, they may not be able to realise the dreamed state. And therefore they face the equation loser loser.

As for Egypt, it is both the most embarrassing and influential. Egypt is unable to cancel the Camp David Accords, and can not put pressure on Hamas so as not to repeat the experience of the regime of Hosni Mubarak with Gaza.

Hanna concludes that «Iran will be the biggest gainer of any future scenario. They invest little in Gaza weapons and material support, but in return they get a lot, a lot.

Personally, I believe, the  Blue Sky operation trigered by the assassination of Martyre Jaabari, provided a door for Hamas leadership to retun to resistance camp, but with Clinton confirming that the Truce Agreement enhances the USIsraeli-Egyptian partnership in promoting the Camp David Accords“!! and with Mishaal hijacking the Freedom fighter’s victory, and stressing on his differnces with Iran on Syria, I will not be surprised to see a Hamas-Lahd army in Gaza.

    “Almost Worse Than Anti-Semitic ”

    by Roy Bard
    Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

Carlos Latuff the Brazilian cartoonist appears to have reached new heights in his career, after Marvin_Hier, twice named “most influential Rabbi in America” by Newsweek, branded one of his cartoons “almost worse than anti-Semitic”.

    According to The Algemeiner :

“An anti-Semitic cartoon can be recognized by the reader as such,” Hier explained, “But a cartoon where he attempts to show that Netanyahu started this (Israel’s current Pillar of Defense operation) for votes. It is almost worse than an anti-Semitic cartoon comparing Israelis to Nazis. It is an outrageous lie.”

It isn’t immediately apparent how suggesting that one man’s cynical ploy for power is a slur on all Jews. Furthermore, how the “almost worse than” label can help us to understand what he is trying to say is unclear, but one thing is for sure, Latuff is not alone in believing that the current murderous assault on Palestinians is motivated by electoral considerations on Netanyahu’s part. In fact a list of Israeli offensives and election dates is currently doing the rounds on Twitter.

Latuff is however determined to press on, regardless. His response so far has included a second cartoon, starring the Rabbi:

and a tweet which suggests that his cartoons will continue to upset the waa-waa Wabbi for years to come.

Whether the Huffingtom Post will have the guts to stand up to the petulant holy man remains to be seen.

Yet another attempt to stifle debate and shut down criticism. Yawn…..

If only Marv and his tribe could find it in themselves to get as upset over the slaughtered babies, there might be no need for such cartoons in the future.
