Sayyed Nasrallah to Israeli Leaders: Great War Will Lead You to Abyss, if Not Demise (Video)

On Resistance and Liberation Day, Hezbollah Secretary General, Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah, addressed the recent threats made by Zionist officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, against Lebanon and the entire axis of resistance.

He strongly emphasized that such a “Great War” would ultimately lead the Israelis to their own downfall.

During a televised speech on the Resistance and Liberation Day, Sayyed Nasrallah urged the Zionist officials to avoid making miscalculations in Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, Palestine, Syria, and Iran.

He made it clear that it is not Hezbollah but the Zionist officials who should be cautious, stating, “Wait! We are the ones who threaten to wage a great war.” He warned that their recklessness could potentially ignite the entire region and pave the way for a disastrous conflict, referred to as the “Great War.” “Your follies, not ours, might blow up the entire region and lead to the Great War,” he said.

Sayyed Nasrallah stated that in the event of an all-out war initiated by the Zionist enemy, there will be an influx of hundreds of thousands of highly skilled fighters onto the battlefields. He emphasized that all borders would be opened, citing a humanitarian advantage over the Israelis in this context.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that the Zionist officials withdrew their intimidation after realizing that it has troubled the Zionist settlers, caused a dollar price hike, and threatened the touristic activities.

‘Israel’ must know none of the axis of resistance groups and states is afraid of it

Sayyed Nasrallah discussed several significant geopolitical developments that have shaped the conflict with the Israeli enemy. He emphasized that the axis of resistance has successfully maintained deterrence strategies tailored to each front, including Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Iran.

Regarding the recent Israeli aggression on Gaza, Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted that the deterrence formula remained unchanged, leading the Israeli enemy to issue threats against Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and the Palestinian people. However, he pointed out that the Zionist officials retreated from their intimidation tactics after witnessing Hezbollah’s military maneuvers.

The Hezbollah leader also noted the failure of the US-Zionist plot to impose normalization deals on Arab regimes without considering the will of the Arab people. He emphasized that even the conspiracy to bring the regional countries under Israeli influence was bound to fail, as victorious resistance groups emerged in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.

In addition, Sayyed Nasrallah underscored the significant advancements made by Hezbollah and the entire axis of resistance in terms of materialistic, financial, and military development. He specifically highlighted the remarkable progress achieved in the fields of drones and rockets.

Sayyed Nasrallah also drew attention to the deep divisions within Israeli society and the vulnerability of their so-called home front, which undermines solidarity among the groups and states within the axis of resistance.

An important transformation highlighted by Sayyed Nasrallah is the Israelis’ increasing tendency to seek ways to avoid direct confrontation.

Emphasizing the role of human determination in achieving victories, Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that the axis of resistance relies on this factor to uphold values of bravery and sacrifice.

Sayyed Nasrallah depicted contrasting images of the devout resistance youth and the disillusioned younger generation in Israel. He mentioned that Netanyahu had acknowledged a decade ago that Zionist youths were disengaging from Zionism.

Furthermore, Sayyed Nasrallah underscored the loss of influential leaders within the Zionist entity, in contrast to the overwhelming confidence placed in resistance leaders, movements, and states. He noted that the people within the axis of resistance are willing to sacrifice the lives of their children for this cause.

In response to accusations from America and Israel, Sayyed Nasrallah clarified that the components of the axis of resistance are defenders of their original homelands, not mere proxy groups. He contrasted this with the Zionists, whom he characterized as intruders and occupiers in the region.

Hezbollah Chief reiterated that Palestine will be liberated and that “we will pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque”.

The Secretary General of Hezbollah emphasized that the Israelis are apprehensive about the waning influence of US hegemony in the region and the world at large. He stated that the axis of resistance, which stood against the American era, will benefit from a new world system based on multipolarism.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that the US retreat and failures have compelled them to reassess their presence and role in the region.

He tackled the strategic changes brought about by the achievements of the resistance in the past few decades, briefly mentioning the demise of the Zionist aspiration for a “Greater Israel” extending from the Nile to the Euphrates in 2000 and 2005 (referring to the Liberation of Southern Lebanon and Gaza, respectively).

Furthermore, he emphasized that even the Zionist objective of maintaining a “Greater Israel” was shattered in 2006 when Hezbollah defeated the Israeli military and in 2008 when the Palestinian resistance overcame Israeli forces in Gaza.

“Israel now hides behind walls and firepower, becoming incapable of imposing its terms in negotiations with the Palestinian people,” remarked Sayyed Nasrallah.

He affirmed that the conflict with the Zionist enemy is ongoing, with the Israelis making daily attempts to attack their territories.

Lebanon

Sayyed Nasrallah reassured that the Israeli feebleness grants Lebanon a larger extent of peace and security which would allow them to pursue their concerns.

In this regard, Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that the Lebanese would be able to follow up the maritime gas extraction project, adding that reports indicate a serious progress pertaining this file.

His eminence added that developing the touristic sector and attracting tourists requires peace and security in order to cope with the socioeconomic crisis.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the Resistance is capable to protect Lebanon’s peace and security, adding that the army-people-resistance formula contribute to achieving this goal.

Concerning the presidential elections, Sayyed Nasrallah cited a positive regional atmosphere and called for further contacts and negotiations without preconditions in order to elect a new president.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that addressing the BDL governor issue can be addressed through either a personal decision taken by Riad Salameh to resign or a judicial procedure that sacks him, noting the caretaker government cannot take any measure in this regard according to the Constitution.

Pertaining the Syrian refugees file, Sayyed Nasrallah reiterated his call on the government to send a high-ranking delegation to Damascus in order to hold talks about this issue.

Hezbollah Secretary General had started his speech by felicitating the Lebanese people on the 23rd anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day, stressing that it is a great occasion which recalls a majestic victory.

Sayyed Nasrallah thanked Holy God and hailed the sacrifices made by the Resistance martyrs, injured, prisoners and fighters which contributed to the liberation victory.

Sayyed Nasrallah underscored the role of the other Lebanese and Palestinian resistance factions in addition to the role of the Lebanese Army and Security Forces in reaching this victory, greeting the Lebanese statesmen, politicians and parties which contributed to the feat.

Sayyed Nasrallah hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran and Syria for supporting the Resistance during its fight against the Zionist occupation.

His eminence underlined the importance of conveying the experience of pride to the new generations in order to let them know about the occasion and keep committed to the Resistance that protects this victory.

The Palestinian Resistance is able to strike any Israeli settlement is wants to using its homemade rockets, PIJ chief Ziyad Al-Nakhaleh said.

The rocket that hit “Tel Aviv” and reached occupied Al-Quds during Operation Avenging the Free has a range that covers all of occupied Palestine, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement, Ziyad Al-Nakhaleh, said Tuesday.

“The rocket that struck Tel Aviv and reached Al-Quds […] is the brainchild of the experienced specialists working in Al-Quds Brigades,” the PIJ’s military wing, Al-Nakhaleh said.

Al-Nakhalah said Friday that “Tel Aviv” and other settlements of the Zionist entity “are within the range of our rockets and the bullets of our fighters.”

During a speech at the festival commemorating the martyrs of Operation Avenging the Free in the city of Saida, south Lebanon, Al-Nakhalah said, “We meet today to honor a great group of martyrs and leaders who were killed in the treacherous aggression and to honor the two martyrs, Commander Khader Adnan and Commander Ali Al-Aswad, and everyone who ascended to martyrdom in Operation Avenging the Free.”

“The martyrdom of the commanders of Al-Quds Brigades did not cause any disruption in the movement’s military structure,” the PIJ chief underlined.

“The deputies of the slain commanders assumed responsibility immediately after the martyrdom,” the Palestinian Resistance leader revealed.

“The Islamic Jihad movement in the last battle was in a better position than any previous battles,” he told a press conference.

Furthermore, he threatened to “bomb the heart of the Zionist entity and its cities if Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dares to target Islamic Jihad commanders in other areas.”

Commenting on the Israeli occupation’s provocative Flag March, Al-Nakhaleh underlined that the Israeli occupation’s actions must be dealt with, stressing that “Al-Quds is an occupied city, and we must resist and fight for its liberation.”

He also commented on the Saudi-Iranian rapprochement deal, saying it brought the region back to its natural status quo, adding that there would be positive repercussions for the Palestinian cause.

“Iran’s support for the Palestinian Resistance is unconditional. We do not have oil or military bases to offer them,” he said, adding that normalization was a great treason, and the Arab people are required to aid the Palestinian people in their steadfastness and Resistance.

In the wake of the Palestinian resistance declaring its victory in Operation Avenging the Free, Al-Nakhalah thanked all those who stood by the resistance, “led by the Islamic Republic in Iran, Hezbollah, and our brothers in Egypt and Qatar.”

Al-Nakhalah pointed out that despite “all the difficult circumstances and the imbalance of military power in favor of the enemy, our people are still fighting,” adding, “We have steadfastly and patiently fought major battles in defense of our identity and adherence to our rights, and our cause has remained alive.”

The PIJ chief considered that the occupation wanted to cast a shadow “over our cause with politics and wars, but today we stand stronger and more determined to adhere to our rights and Al-Quds.”

The Israeli occupation launched a five-day aggression against the Gaza Strip earlier in May, targeting residential houses in the north, center, and south of the Strip.

In retaliation, Al-Quds Brigades and the Palestinian Resistance factions launched Operation Avenging the Free, in which it fired advanced rockets and missiles that bypassed the Iron Dome and targeted several Israeli settlements, occupied cities, and occupation sites.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the number of Palestinians killed in the aggression rose to 33 martyrs, including six children and three women, and 147 people were wounded.

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem

Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Naim Qassem stressed on Tuesday that the Resistance wargames sent a message of readiness and deterrence to the Zionist enemy.

In an interview with Al-Manar TV on Resistance and Liberation DAy, Sheikh Qassem indicated that the Resistance wanted to tell the Israeli enemy that the next battle will be in occupied Palestine.

“During the upcoming war, Zionists will not be able to sip coffee in Tel Aviv. The Israelis will see what they have not seen if they commit any folly”

Sheikh Qassem said that Hezbollah military drills displayed only a party of the Resistance arsenal, without showing the precision-guided missiles and much more.

His eminence reiterated that Hezbollah supports unifying the fronts against teh Zionst enemy, pointing out that Israelis must know that they can never violate the deterrence formulas maintained by the Resistance.

Sheikh Qassem indicated USA and ‘Israel’ acknowledge that Hezbollah Resistance has developed several classical weapons, including missiles and canons.

130 mm artillery developed by Hezbollah

Hezbollah Deputy Chief said that Resistance and Liberation Day is a national occasion, adding that those who exclude themselves from this pride are to be blamed.

Sheikh Qassem called for disregarding the remarks that oppose the path of resistance, adding that some of them had cooperated with the enemy during certain stages.

On the other hand, Sheikh Qassem pointed out that maintaining stability among Arab countries serve the Palestinian cause and the entire Ummah, adding that Hezbollah supports the Iranian-Saudi agreement.

His eminence noted that the Syrian President Bashar Assad has attended the Arab Summit with all his pro-resistance stances and after emerging victorious from a 13-year war.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General indicated that the presidential deadlock in Lebanon is caused by the stubbornness of some political parties, calling for resorting the constitutional norms in order to elect a new president.

Sheikh Qassem added that the Free Patriotic Movement and Lebanese Forces intend to have a joint nomination without having a joint project.

Yemen warns Saudi Arabia against ‘procrastinating’ ending war

During a march of solidarity with the Palestinian people on 14 May, a member of the Sanaa government’s Supreme Political Council, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, accused the Saudi-led coalition of “procrastinating” with its recent promises to end the war and lift the blockade against Yemen.

Houthi said during the march that the Yemeni people must remain “vigilant and constantly prepared.”

“The enemy has so far been procrastinating in stopping the aggression and lifting the siege on Yemen,” he said.

In recent months, Saudi Arabia has been involved in Omani-mediated peace talks with the Ansarallah resistance movement, which have resulted in some progress, including a prisoner exchange, as well as agreements on an eventual lifting of the blockade against Hodeidah port and Sanaa International Airport.

Saudi Arabia has also agreed to pay the salaries of all government employees in the territories of the National Salvation Government (NSG) in Sanaa, among other things.

However, as obstruction of peace efforts by Washington and the UAE continue, Saudi Arabia’s newfound willingness to end the war has been overshadowed – and recently, the coalition has resumed its violations of efforts to solidify a truce by launching border attacks and shelling regions such as Saada province and other areas.

Meanwhile, Ansarallah has maintained its siege over the strategic southwestern province of Taiz.

“We see Saudi Arabia and the UAE today, broken in the face of Yemen … it sees the Iron Dome [in Israel] and how it failed to protect the Zionists. So how can they [the Zionists] protect the normalizing countries, now?” Houthi said, referencing the malfunctions in Israel’s Iron Dome defense system during recent rocket fire on the occupied territories in last week’s battle.

Ansarallah has repeatedly warned that if peace efforts fail, it is prepared for all out war against the coalition, and is ready to strike the depths of both Saudi Arabia and the UAE with missiles.

During the march, Houthi also renewed Ansarallah’s support for the Palestinian cause and resistance, and declared its readiness to confront Israel.

“We affirm, as the Yemeni people, our loyalty to Palestine …  we are present for actual and direct participation,” he added.

The Ansarallah movement is known to possess missiles that are capable of reaching Israel, including the Zulfiqar missile, which it has used against Saudi Arabia in the past.

Video | Hezbollah Depicts Netanyahu’s Fake Deterrence

Hezbollah released a video showcasing how Netanyahu fictitiously assures Israelis that his illegal occupation army and Shen Bit employ deterrence against Palestinian resistance factions. The widely circulated video, released on May 15, 2023, sheds light on the period between the so-called “Operation Protective Edge” and nowadays.

It is worth noting that the Zionist PM Benjamin Netanyahu insisted Monday, May 15, on boasting the assassination policy against the Palestinian resistance, adding that the occupation forces carried out assassinations in Gaza and “other areas”. He also threatened to kill all those who pose any danger to ‘Israel’.

However, Zionist security expert Ozi Rabi in addition to a considerable number of analysts said that the recent aggression on Gaza failed to change deterrence formula imposed by Palestinian resistance.

Sources from the Palestinian Resistance factions’ joint operations room confirm to Al Mayadeen that the Resistance is ready for long-term confrontations and warned of expanding the ring of fire if required.

Sources in the Palestinian Resistance factions’ joint operations room told Al Mayadeen, on Wednesday, that “the occupation pressed through various mediators to push for a ceasefire,” noting that “the resistance remained steadfast in its demand for a clear [Israeli] commitment to stopping the assassinations policy.”

The sources also expressed the Resistance’s “readiness to fight for the longest time period yet and to expand the ring of fire if necessary.”

In this regard, the Political Affairs expert Ahmed Abed Al-Rahman told Al Mayadeen, “The [Palestinian Islamic] Jihad movement was subjected to tremendous pressure regarding the ceasefire negotiations, but the movement’s leadership rejected all of these pressures.”

Abed Al-Rahman further added that “the resistance’s response to the aggression came in 3 phases, starting at noon and ending at 9:00 p.m. with a half-ton Badr rocket.”

He explained that “the rockets launched by the Al-Quds Brigades at nine o’clock targeted occupied Askalan, and were loaded with explosive warheads weighing half a ton.”

Israeli media quoted a senior official involved in the negotiations as saying, “There are difficulties in implementing a ceasefire.”

The Israeli media reported that “the knot in the negotiations is the Islamic Jihad’s request that Israel commits to stopping the assassinations.”

Israeli media also quoted an Israeli forces spokesman who said that 469 rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip until 9:30, claiming that 153 were intercepted.

In the context, sources in the resistance confirmed to Al Mayadeen that “in the event that the enemy does not adhere to the conditions of the resistance, the decision will be to go toward expanding the ring of fire.”

The sources further noted that the recent bombing of “Tel Aviv”, Beer Al-Seba, and other occupied cities and settlements came to confirm that there is no truce except on the terms of the resistance.

In turn, Talal Abu Zarifa, a member of the political bureau of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, said, “The Palestinian resistance cannot surrender to what the occupation wants,” adding that “the Israeli occupation committed a crime,” and that “it must pay the price for that.”

Moreover, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine affirmed that “the renewed Zionist aggression on Gaza is an integral part of the open war,” and praised the Resistance for confronting the aggression on Gaza and responding to it unified.

Simultaneously, Israeli media reported that there was non-stop rocket firing against the Gaza envelope settlements, following the joint statement of the Occupation government Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Israeli Minister of Security, Yoav Gallant.

During his statement, Galant reported that about 400 rockets were fired at “Israel,” while the Israeli media reported that “100 rockets were fired at Israel in the last hour.”

The Palestinian Resistance continues to launch rocket barrages towards the occupied Palestinian territories according to the Al Mayadeen correspondent which reported the firing of successive barrages of rockets from Gaza.

While Israeli occupation forces kill, bomb, assault, and arrest innocent Palestinians, their social media platforms seem to be turning such heinous acts into jokes in search of desperate likes.

Young dancing soldiers, jumping on TikTok trends, memes, and jokes… it all sounds “fun” doesn’t it? 

However, if there would ever be a backstage of the Israeli occupation forces’ social media platforms, it would be a room full of blood, murderous weapons, and the bodies of thousands of murdered Palestinians. 

What happens backstage is a pure whitewashing of Israeli crimes for the sake of some desperate interaction and affection. Attacking Gaza? Let’s make an infographic about how many “terrorists” there are in the Strip. Palestinians defending themselves against Israeli attacks? Let’s film a short clip about our soldiers crying to get some emotions out of our audience.

In 2012, Fast Company conducted an interview with IOF Spokesperson at the time, Eytan Buchman, in which he spoke about certain insights on how Israeli forces get things done regarding their social media platforms. 

During the interview, the spokesperson said the Israeli army is “a very young army” and that’s where “the innovation comes from.”

“… most people come in when they’re 18. Males serve for three years and women serve for two years. This forms a parity where people find themselves between 18 and 21 and inside military operations. The idea of flexibility and innovation is always encouraged.”

The Israeli spokesperson went on and talked about how “innovation” usually makes it to the world and how it “opens up new horizons.” He even recalled one of the soldiers who had to pay for the IOF WordPress account “using her own credit card… instead of dealing with the military bureaucracy.”

He said, during the interview, that there are “two primary interactions with social media. The first is the interactive media branch, which is responsible for outreach to different audiences online. The second is desk offices from traditional media, such as Leibovitch… In some cases, we also maintain Facebook pages and websites in specific languages in order to reach out to certain regions.”

Ironically, the spokesperson bragged about how the IOF is operating on different social media platforms, such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Tumblr, Google+, and even Pinterest in order to increase the occupation’s “legitimacy, to be transparent… to combat misinformation that being flooded out from inside Gaza.”

Legitimacy and transparency by ‘Israel’? Think again.

Whether it’s jumping on trends, trending music, or even memes, the IOF’s strategy on TikTok does the job of completely victimizing the occupier while criminalizing the occupied.

For example, in one of the TikTok videos, during New Year’s Eve, the IOF account posted a wrap-up about the year 2022, as part of the relevant TikTok trends where one would recall moments that took place during the year with background music playing A Sky Full of Stars, a song by Coldplay.

Zooming out, the video had no sight of Israeli occupation forces committing any massacres, murders, bombings, arrests, or assaults on Palestinians. The short video completely altered reality, failing to mention Israeli crimes and showcase Israeli weapons, its soldiers ‘in action’, and its warplanes.

Playing innocent, the IOF captions the video with: “This year was filled with highs and lows, but we pushed through every challenge. How was your 2022?”

The videos are endless.

In 2021, on TikTok, the IOF jumped on the “She’s Gonna Be A Victoria’s Secret Supermodel” trend where they filmed one of their tanks, with the caption: “We’re serving looks since 1948.”

Of course, the IOF will make no mention of the 1948 Nakba (catastrophe) during which Zionist gangs committed horrific massacres in Palestine against Palestinians, killing and forcefully expelling them from their motherland. This date is marked by “Israel” as its “independence”.

The only thing that “Israel” has been “serving” since 1948 is aggression, occupation, and colonization of an entire population.

In another instance, the IOF posted a video on TikTok on Easter with an Israeli soldier running with the writing on the video “POV: Us on easter morning looking for chocolate eggs [chocolate emoji].” 

There was no context for the footage. Was it an Israeli soldier running toward a Palestinian to beat him as what always happens? If so, why chasing a Palestinian would be turned into a joke on social media? One comment said he was probably “hunting the Christians celebrating Easter.”

Empowering women? More like assaulting them

On International Women’s Day, the IOF account on TikTok posted “Women get the job done,” with a video of a girl being trained in the IOF as she is filmed going on missions while holding weapons and on a tank. At the end of the video, the girl is seen having this “dreamy” look on her face after the end of her shift, making the military occupation of Palestine look “dreamy” to the audience.

Of course, there was no mention of the following. In January this year, the Israeli occupation launched a large-scale campaign of brutal repression against Palestinian prisoners, most notably female prisoners as they were subjected to brutal practices by Israeli authorities. 

Israeli occupation forces usually brutally assault Palestinian women stationed at Al-Aqsa Mosque while harassing, expelling, and arresting many others.

If this is their definition of women empowerment, the IOF needs a whole new dictionary. 

‘Is this a parody account?’

Not a single Ramadan has passed without the Israeli occupation forces, along with the illegal settlers, attacking Palestinian worshippers. 

This Ramadan alone and for three nights in a row, the Israeli occupation forces stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked Palestinian worshippers practicing Itikaf.

Israeli forces usually carry out brutal attacks against the Holy Mosque as Palestinians practice Ramadan acts of worship inside.

During these attacks, Israeli occupation forces use rubber bullets and smoke and stun grenades against the unarmed worshippers.

On March 2023, the IOF page wished Muslims “a meaningful and peaceful holiday” with audacity. This prompted one Twitter user to question whether the account was a parody account.

Memes to defeat the ‘enemy’: Social media 101?

On a Twitter post on Valentine’s Day, the IOF posted three photos about “Hamas’ love language” where they mentioned quotes and previous news about Hamas. One of the pictures hinted that Hamas fires rockets “without any occasion” as part of its “gift giving” while completely disregarding the Israeli attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque, in Gaza Strip, and in the West Bank. 

Iran, Hezbollah, and Hamas seem to be the IOF’s favorite opponents on their social media platforms. In one of their posts on Halloween, the IOF posted a costume for the occasion named “Hamas terrorist”, while describing what the costume includes. 

The caption that was posted was: “If you see this walking down the street, it’s not a costume…” The comments on the post varied, with some people saying this was an IOF costume and others writing “FREE PALESTINE”.

“Do YOU know what the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Gaza is? Watch to find out.” With this caption, the IOF decided to describe a video they posted about the Islamic Jihad Movement. The video said the Palestinian faction is focused on the “destruction of the state of Israel.”

The video received a backlash. People in the comments slammed the video with some saying, “Since when defending and dying for the liberation of your own country is terrorism?” Others stated the fact that “Israel” is an occupation by saying, “Why don’t u tell the people how u came into power? Did u not steal their land and harm Palestinian citizens?”

The IOF social media team also got on the “Little Miss” trend where people make comedic characters that sum up their personality and are called Little Miss “something”.

This was also slammed by social media users. When the IOF posted a picture that says “little miss combats terrorism in the Middle East,” people started to reply “Little Miss Terrorism in the Middle East” and “Little Miss War criminals.” In another picture of the same trend, people started commenting “Little miss makes me sick to my stomach…” and “Ethnic cleansing but make it quirky,” hinting at using memes to hide Israeli crimes against Palestinians. 

While the obsession seems to grow against whoever resists the Israeli occupation and defends the Palestinian lands, the Palestinian narrative has always triumphed and excelled over the Israeli one. 

During Seif Al-Quds Battle, many pro-Palestine accounts started to publish videos and infographics about the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip in 2021.

Even Israeli media admitted that the most popular posts that were made then were in support of the Palestinians.

“…The most viral example had nearly 2 million likes on Bella Hadid’s Instagram page… Another popular infographic from @paliroots had over 500,000 likes. In comparison, most of the IDF’s videos and photos had likes in the tens of thousands, and only occasionally topping 100,000.”

At one point, during the Israeli aggression on Gaza Strip, the IOF social media team seemed desperate enough to copy the same format of a Pro-Palestine post while changing the whole narrative to become pure Israeli propaganda.

Crimes hidden in emojis and hashtags 

While the IOF’s social media account may look “glorious” and “fun” to some from the outside, there is no mention of the brutal Israeli administrative detention policy, there is no mention of killing children, there is no mention of uprooting Palestinian olive trees, there is no mention of ethnically cleansing a whole indigenous population, just as there is no mention of Israeli illegal checkpoints and settlements. There is not even any mention of “Israel” being the OCCUPATION it is!

Prisoner’s Day is a sounding alarm for continued resistance

The twentieth Arab summit which was held in Damascus back in March 2008 announced the adoption of Prisoner’s Day as a national day of solidarity with Palestinian and Arabs in Israeli prisons.

The twentieth Arab summit which was held in Damascus back in March 2008 announced the adoption of Prisoner’s Day as a national day of solidarity with Palestinian and Arabs in Israeli prisons in all Arab countries.

Today, April 17th, is widely celebrated by Palestinians and Arabs as “Palestinian Prisoner Day” after it was coined by the Palestinian National Council back in 1974. It has been commemorated ever since by Palestinians in the occupied territories and abroad in the diaspora as a national day of solidarity with prisoners to support their right to liberation. 

Palestinian Prisoners Day is popularly commemorated to immortalize the prisoners’ cause and bring it to the attention of the international community and the international public, in an effort to expose “Israel’s” brutal treatment of Palestinian prisoners, which violates all international and humanitarian norms including the Fourth Geneva Convention, international humanitarian law, and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court. 

Palestinian Prisoners in  Numbers 

According to reports of institutions concerned with the affairs of Palestinian prisoners, including the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club and the Commission for Detainees and Former Detainees, Israeli prisons hold around 4,900 Palestinian prisoners (including 31 women and 160 minors), and another 1,000 administrative detainees: including  2 women (namely Raghad Al-Fani and Rawda Abu Ajamia) and 6 minors. 

Prisoners arrested prior to the Oslo agreement are estimated to be 23, the oldest of whom is Muhammad Al-Tus, imprisoned since 1985.

Prisoners sentenced for life were estimated to be 554 (the longest serving is Abdullah Al-Barghouthi). Additionally, 12 prisoners were reported martyred in Israeli prisons, and another 700 are severely ill (including 24 diagnosed with cancer and tumors). 

The Captive Movement Statement 

On this occasion, the Supreme Emergency Committee of the Captive Movement stressed that “the commemoration of Prisoners’ Day manifests in the practical pursuit of liberating the prisoners,” noting that “the path of liberating the prisoners is known to every member of our people and our nation [i.e. armed resisitance]”. 

The committee affirmed that the prisoners’ message to all the Palestinian people is “to look past their divisions and confront the enemy, united as one in all arenas.” 

“Our enemy sought – and is still seeking – to violently abuse our prisoners but they [the Palestinian prisoners] succeeded with their steadfastness, patience, and the support of our people in repelling the [jailer’s] aggression.”

The movement stressed that the Palestinian prisoners are a central element of “our living cause [the Palestinian cause], and they represent the enduring and patient character of this cause, despite the fierce war waged by the occupation against them and its failed attempts to detach them from the cause and cast them into oblivion.”  

“Prisoner’s Day is not just mute images and loud slogans, but rather a day for sounding the alarm [to make it known] that our suffering has not stopped. We are not just numbers and statements in office drawers. we are fated to be free. Everyone who hears our voice must strive to save the 4,900 prisoners from the dungeons of prisons,” the statement read.

الخسائر الإسرائيلية في الربع الأول للعام الجاري، يفوق الخسائر الإسرائيلية في كلّ الأشهر الأولى من السنوات الماضية عقب “هبة القدس” عام 2015، الذي شهد تفاقم عمليات الطعن والدهس خلال ما عرف بـ”انتفاضة السكاكين”.

نحو حرب تحرير شعبية.. كيف تطورت العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية؟

شهدت العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية تصاعداً هاماً في وتيرتها ونوعيتها، منذ العدوان الإسرائيلي على غزة عام 2014، واتخذت إلى حدّ كبير طابعاً شعبياً عفوياً، تميّز بالروحية الاستشهادية عند المقاومين الشباب. ومع اندلاع “انتفاضة القدس” عام 2015،  ازداد الحديث عن أنّ الساحة الفلسطينية تشهد مرحلة جديدة أقرب إلى انتفاضة ثالثة حقيقية، تستمر بلا هوادة منذ 8 سنوات.

وقد تنوعت العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية، واختلفت معها تفاصيل كل نوع من العمليات، وما يرتبط به من استعداد وتجهيز، وما يعنيه على مستوى قدرة الإسرائيلي على توقعه ومواجهته والحد منه.

عمليات الدهس

تشكل عمليات الدهس التي نفذها فلسطينيون ضد المستوطنين وضد جنود الاحتلال قلقاً كبيراً لسلطات الاحتلال، فخلال 14 عملية حصلت خلال عام 2022، بحسب الإحصاءات الفلسطينية، تضاف إليها عمليتان نوعيتان في 2023، في تل أبيب والقدس المحتلة، خلفتا قتيلين و11 مصاباً إسرائيلياً.

وتعتبر عمليات الدهس من أصعب العمليات على الاحتلال، إذ تشكل خطورة كبيرة على أفراده مستوطنين وجنوداً، كما أنّ منعها شبه مستحيل، ولا تحتاج إلى أيّ استعداد لوجستي خاص أو عتاد أو أسلحة، ما يعتبر رعباً حقيقياً لأجهزة أمن الاحتلال.

عمليات الطعن والاشتباك بالسلاح الأبيض

وبالإضافة إلى عمليات الدهس، شكلت عمليات الطعن، التي انتشرت بشكل واسع عقب انتفاضة القدس عام 2015، سبباً آخر لإضعاف فعالية أجهزة أمن الاحتلال ضد العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية، مع 36 عملية طعن ضد المحتل تم توثيقها خلال العام 2022، فضلاً عن أنّ عملية طعن قاتلة تمّ توثيقها في شباط/فبراير الفائت، أدّت إلى مقتل عنصر من شرطة الاحتلال.

وتعدّ عملية الالتحام المباشر مع الاحتلال بواسطة السكين من العمليات القاسية والمؤثرة، إذ قد لا يتطلب الإعداد لتنفيذها أكثر من سكين مطبخ، يخفيه الرجل أو المرأة الفلسطينية في حقيبة أو كم، وأن يقترب إلى درجة كافية من أحد المستوطنين أو الجنود.

وقد اعتمد بعض الفدائيين الفلسطينيين أسلوباً جمع بين النوعين، كما حصل في هجوم بئر السبع في 22 آذار/مارس 2022، عندما دهس منفذ العملية مستوطناً إسرائيلياً، ثم طعن ثلاثة آخرين، ما أدى إلى مقتل 4 إسرائيليين بينهم شرطة.

إطلاق النار

كما كان للاشتباكات المسلحة أهميتها الخاصة هذين العامين، إذ تزايدت بشكل خاص وتيرة إطلاق النار على حواجز الاحتلال ومواقعه وتجمعات عناصره، من قبل عناصر فلسطينية في الضفة الغربية المحتلة والداخل. وأدت عمليات إطلاق النار والاشتباك المسلح مع الاحتلال ومستوطنيه، والتي وصل عددها إلى نحو 650 حالة إطلاق نار موثّقة ضدّ قوات الاحتلال، إلى عشرات القتلى والجرحى الإسرائيليين.

وكان لعملية النبي يعقوب الفدائية، في القدس المحتلة، والتي نفذها الشهيد خيري علقم رداً على ارتكاب العدو مجزرة جنين قبلها بيوم، أثر هائل في أوساط الاحتلال، بعد أن قُتل فيها 7 إسرائيليين وأصيب 3 بجروح، وأدّت إلى بلبلة في أوساط المؤسسة الأمنية الإسرائيلية وتفاقم الضغط على حكومة نتنياهو الجديدة.

وتعدّ عمليات إطلاق النار الأخطر والأقسى على الاحتلال، لقدرتها على إيقاع أكبر عدد من الإصابات القاتلة، ويعتمد فيها المنفذون بشكل أساسي على انتشار السلاح الحربي في الداخل المحتل، وعلى بعض الأسلحة المصنعة محلياً بشكل جزئي، كرشاش الكارلو، وعلى المسدسات الحربية.

وفيما يراهن الاحتلال على تتبع مصادر التسليح وقطع خطوط الإمداد والتهريب، ويريد إقرار قوانين تقيد وصول الفلسطينيين للأسلحة، نجحت بعض العمليات التي اعتمدت على هجوم مزدوج في إيقاع خسائر كبيرة في صفوف مستوطني الاحتلال وجنوده، كما تمكن بعض المنفذين من الانسحاب بسلام من مكان تنفيذ العملية، ونجحوا في توجيه ضربات إضافية قبل الاشتباك مع الجنود والمستوطنين.

العبوات الناسفة

كما شكّلت العبوات الناسفة نقلة نوعية العام الفائت بالتحديد، بعدما انفجرت عبوتان ناسفتان في محطتي حافلات في القدس المحتلة، قُتل فيها إسرائيلي وأصيب 19 آخرون بجروح بينها 4 خطيرة.

وكان للانفجار الذي وقع عند مفترق مجيدو شمالي فلسطين المحتلة، الشهر الفائت، تبعات خطيرة على أمن الاحتلال، لا سيما بعد كشف أنّ الانفجار الذي وقع نفّذه فدائي تسلل من الحدود الشمالية، وهو ما شكّل سابقة أنذرت بفتح جبهة جديدة للاحتلال بالإضافة إلى مناطق الداخل المحتل والضفة الغربية والقدس المحتلة وغزة.

وتشكل العبوات الناسفة سبباً حقيقياً لقلق الاحتلال، إذ يخشى قادته ومستوطنوه من عودة عمليات التفجير التي فتكت بالكيان خلال الانتفاضة الثانية. وبالرغم من أنّ الاحتلال يتتبع بشكل دقيق كافة المواد التي يمكن أن يستفاد منها لبناء قنبلة، وييتبع مصادرها ومبيعاتها، ولكنّ قدرات المقاومة على خرق أمنيات العدو باتت تزداد يوماً بعد يوم.

وسبق أن أعلن الاحتلال إسقاط طائرات مسيرة تحمل أسلحة ومواد متفجرة، قادمة من جهة الأردن وسوريا، كما ألقت القبض على شحنات من الأسلحة كان يتم تهريبها إلى فلسطين المحتلة عبر الحدود مع لبنان، ما دفع قادته إلى التساءل عن حجم ما لم يتمّ كشفه من عمليات إيصال الأسلحة، لا سيما مع إعلان صريح من قبل قادة محور المقاومة عن التوجه إلى مزيد من دعم الضفة الغربية بالسلاح.

تطور خسائر الاحتلال جراء العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية

21 قتيلاً إسرائيلياً في أول 4 أشهر من 2023

شهد الربع الأول من عام 2023 تفاقماً هائلاً في عدد الخسائر البشرية الإسرائيلية نتيجة العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية، إذ وصل عدد قتلى الاحتلال إلى 21 قتيلاً وعشرات الجرحى، بعد أن قُتلت 3 مستوطنات في عملية الأغوار في الأسبوع الأول من الشهر الجاري، وقتل آخر جراء جراح سابقة تعرض لها في عملية دهس في تل أبيب.

ويفوق رقم الخسائر الإسرائيلية في الربع الأول للعام الجاري، الخسائر الإسرائيلية في كلّ الأشهر الأولى من السنوات الماضية عقب “هبة القدس” عام 2015، حتى نفس العام 2015، الذي شهد تفاقم عمليات الطعن والدهس خلال ما عرف بـ”انتفاضة السكاكين”، وأدى إلى سقوط 29 قتيلاً إسرائيلياً خلال عام.

ويستمرّ بالتالي الخط التصاعدي للقتلى الإسرائيليين من خلال العمليات الفدائية، إذ قتل 3 إسرائيليين عام 2020، و 21 إسرائيلياً عام 2021، و30 إسرائيلياً عام 2022، فيما يبدو أن العدد هذا العام مرشّحٌ لمزيد من الارتفاع، في حال استمرت الوتيرة على ما هي عليه من التوتر والتصعيد من قبل الاحتلال ضد الفلسطينيين.

ومن أبرز العمليات التي شهدها العام الفائت كانت عملية “بئر السبع”، حيث قتل 4 مستوطنين إسرائيليين وأصيب آخرون، في عملية طعن ودهس، نفذها الفدائي محمد أبو القيعان.

كما شكلت عملية “الخضيرة”، بالتزامن مع “قمة النقب” التي عقدتها تل أبيب بمشاركة الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية و4 دول عربية مطبعة مع الاحتلال، هي مصر والإمارات والمغرب والبحرين، نقلة نوعية في طبيعة العمليات واتصالها بتوجهات القيادة السياسية للمقاومة الفلسطينية، حيث أدّت إلى مقتل جنديين إسرائيليين، واستشهاد المنفذين أيمن وإبراهيم إغبارية.

حصيلة العمليات الفدائية الفلسطينية عام 2022

دلالات الأرقام ونوعية العمليات

لم يترك قادة الاحتلال مجالاً للتعبير عن مخاوفهم من استمرار العمليات الفدائية وتفاقم آثارها المادية والنفسية على كيان الاحتلال ومستوطنيه إلا وعبّروا عنه، إذ أكّد كبار ضباطه وسياسييه أنّ العمليات الأخيرة كبدت الكيان “خسائر فادحة”، واعتبروا أنّ الامر بات “أصعب من انتفاضة”، وأنّ الإسرائيليين يعيشون “مأساةً مستمرة”.

ومع ازدياد الحديث عن إجراءات جديدة تتضمن نشر الجيش في المناطق المدنية، وتسليح المستوطنين، والتشدد ضد التسلح غير المرخص مقابل فتح باب التراخيص للإسرائيليين وزيادة عدد الشرطة الذين يجوبون الشوارع بلباس مدني، ورفع مستوى العمل الاستخباري ضد المشتبه بهم، يخشى العديد من قادة الاحتلال أنّ الكيان يتجه نحو أن يكون كياناً بوليسياً موصوفاً، يعيش فيه الإسرائيليون في قلق دائم.

ولا تقتصر أضرار هذه الإجراءات على الأثر النفسي عند المستوطنين، بل تتعداه إلى أن تكون سبباً لإبعاد الاحتلال أكثر فأكثر عن المعايير المستهدفة من السعادة والأمن والرفاهية والجاذبية السياحية، التي يحاول تثبيتها منذ عقود.

كما تساهم الإجراءات الإرهابية للشرطة والمستوطنين، انفعالاً على هذه العمليات، في تظهير الصورة الإرهابية للإسرائيليين في الدول الغربية والأوساط العالمية، والتي بات يعاني جراءها قادة الاحتلال من حظر للسفر إلى العديد من البلدان، بينها بلدان أوروبية.

وتأتي هذه العمليات في وقت تتفاقم فيه الانقسامات الداخلية الإسرائيلية، حيث أدّت غلى أن يتبادل أطراف السياسة الإسرائيلية الاتهامات بشان المسؤولية عن هذه العمليات والفشل الأمني الإسرائيلي في منعها أو الحدّ منها.

وفي وقت يؤكد نتنياهو وحكومته أنه سيستمرّ بالضغط على الفلسطينيين، وممارسة الحصار والإرهاب ضد كافة أشكال الحياة الطبيعية لأصحاب الأرض في فلسطين، فإنّ الخيار الوحيد أمام الشعب الفلسطيني هو الانتفاض ضد الاحتلال ومراكمة الفعل المقاوم والعمليات الموجعة، وصولاً إلى يوم قد تفتح فيه الحرب الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين أبوابها.

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah responded to the threats of the Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu by similarly saying in an intimidating tone, “You Will See!”

Sayyed Nasrallah abstained from commenting on the missile fire from Southern Lebanon at the Zionist settlements, stressing that reassuring the Zionist enemy is forbidden.

Hezbollah will resort to silence and avoid clarifying the missile fire from Southern Lebanon in order to keep ‘Israel’ confused and terrified, according to the Resistance Leader.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that the Israelis themselves acknowledge that the response to the missile fire from Lebanon was feeble due to the balance of deterrence maintained by the Resistance, highlighting the strategic reflection of the Zionist keenness on avoiding any direct clash with Hezbollah.

“The Israelis have boasted the only achievement of avoiding any direct clash with Hezbollah.”

Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Israeli raids did not target any site for Hezbollah or Hamas, but that an irrigation canal and a banana farm were hit.

His eminence maintained that all the Israeli threats are useless, rather they reinforce the Resistance commitment to accumulate all the required capabilities in order to sustain the balance of deterrence and confront any Zionist aggression on Lebanon.

Any Zionist attack on the Lebanese territories or any person present in Lebanon will be responded to without any hesitation, Sayyed Nasrallah maintained.

Addressing Hezbollah central ceremony marking International Quds Day in Beirut’s Dahiyeh, Sayyed Nasrallah warned the Israeli enemy of any folly against Al-Aqsa Mosque, Al-Quds, West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon or Syria may lead to an all-out war in the whole region.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Imam Khomeini announced Al-Quds International Day more than 40 years ago in order to be an occasion of voicing and expressing solidarity with Palestine.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that marking Al-Quds International Day sends a message of solidarity with the sacrificing Palestinian people, adding that Muslims and Christians as well as Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of Resurrection in Palestine are not left alone.

His eminence pointed out that Marking Al-Quds International Day is also aimed at intimidating the Israeli enemy that feels concerned and has made void threats to all the surrounding countries.

Hezbollah Secretary General highlighted the developments that occurred since last year’s Al-Quds Day and reviewed their effects on the Palestinian cause.

To begin with, Sayyed Nasrallah underlined the recession of the US hegemony all over the world, shedding light on the Venezuelan sample.

America was obliged to back off in Venezuela after a political and economic siege, according to Sayyed Nasrallah.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that one of the most important factors behind the regional changes is the milestone US defeat in Afghanistan, “which was wailed by the Israeli officials”.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that ‘Israel’, Gulf states, and other regional countries have become convinced that the US is unreliable for protection, adding that some Arab countries have started to consider dialogue and agreement as a way to maintain the regional stability.

Sayyed Nasrallah noted that USA is now concentrating on the confrontation with Russia and China more than Eastern Asia and the Middle East, adding that this is worrying the Israelis.

Such developments move towards a multipolar world system that cannot be ruled by the USA alone, according to Sayyed Nasrallah.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that the US administration moves according to its interests, adding that it even imposed the normalization deals on the Arab countries and that the Israeli officials falsely claim they have made this “achievement”.

The US political decline will lead to the decline of the normalization deals as well as the Israeli deterrence power and strategic status.

The powerful emergence of the axis of the resistance from the global war run by the US which employed states and criminal organizations will affect the conflict with the Israeli enemy, Sayyed Nasrallah said, recalling the bets on the collapse of the the Resistance coalition.

Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted Syria’s recovery and the restoration of its diplomatic ties with a number of the Arab countries, including Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi, UAE and Egypt, mentioning also the issue of Syria’s return to the Arab League and the Turkish endeavor to normalize relations with Damascus.

Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that Yemen, which we have supported since the beginning of the war in 2015, is witnessing positive developments pertaining the peace talks, noting that this would leave positive effects on the axis of resistance, Palestine and Al-Quds.

Hezbollah Chief hailed Algeria’s return to support the Palestinian cause displayed by the expelling of the Zionist delegation from the African Union Summit,

Sayyed Nasrallah highlighted Iraq’s considerable recovery from its crises, adding that the axis of resistance bets on the Iraqi people support to the Palestinian cause and underlining their enormous human and materialistic capabilities.

Sayyed Nasrallah also mentioned Iran development and steadfastness in face of the siege, isolation and recent trivial riots, adding that the Iranian-Saudi agreement has speedily started showing its positive outcomes.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that Iran-KSA pact frustrated the normalization schemes and the Israeli plot to establish coalition against Iran, adding that the concentration of the attack on the Islamic Republic is caused by the fact that it is the main supporter of the regional countries and resistance movements.

Hezbollah Leader indicated that the recent rift which appeared in the Zionist entity over the judicial amendments which reflect an existential war waged by Netanyahu and the right groups against the rest of the political parties.

This war would have turned to be bloody had not the US administration interfered few weeks ago to prevent the escalation would threatened the army, businessmen and all the Zionist society, according to Sayyed Nasrallah, who also highlighted the lack of confidence in the Israeli army and the military readiness to make sacrifices for the sake of the occupation entity.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the escalating armed resistance in the West Bank, the popular steadfastness, sacrifice and support to the resistance fighters inside and outside Palestine, the youths participation in the heroic clashes with the Zionist occupation forces despite the discrepancy of military capabilities, the Palestinian persistence and insistence on defending Al-Aqsa Mosque in spite of the Israeli aggression versus the Zionist confusion and fear, and the growing capabilities of the resistance in the Gaza have maintained the certainty of victory.

Sayyed Nasrallah indicated that Syria considers several factors before deciding a response to the Israeli raids as its army units are deployed along hundreds of kilometers in face of the terrorist groups, warning Israeli enemy must beware that Syria may get rid of the current formula and respond at a certain time to the Zionist raids.

West Bank

Hezbollah Secretary General reiterated that the West Bank is indeed the shield of Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling for supporting the West Bank and its resistance financially and militarily in order to sustain its steadfastness.

Sayyed Nasrallah asserted that all who can dispatch weapons to the West Bank, must do that, adding that the political support provided by the Arab and Muslim states is also important.

Sayyed Nasrallah warned the US and ‘Israel’ against any folly in the region will lead to a major war, warning the Zionist enemy against tampering with the Islamic and Christian sanctities in Palestine.

Former Iraqi Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, extended a warm welcome on Thursday to the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Ziyad al-Nakhala, during his visit to Baghdad.

Abdul-Mahdi affirmed that Iraq, comprising the government and its people, represents an integral part of the heroic Palestinian struggle, playing a pivotal role in consolidating endeavors to liberate Palestine’s occupied lands, encompassing the region from the river to the sea.

He underscored the importance of resisting the nefarious plans of the Israeli usurping entity in Al-Aqsa, the odious apartheid regime, and putting an end to the intolerable occupation, settlement policies, displacement, daily killing, collective punishment, and normalization policies.

In turn, Al-Nakhala and his accompanying delegation briefed the former Iraqi Prime Minister on the latest developments in the Palestinian, regional, and international spheres.

The meeting was marked by an atmosphere of optimism, stemming from the positive strides made at both the jihadist and political levels in Palestine and the region, as well as the progress achieved by the Palestinian cause worldwide, despite the manifold challenges and the adversarial ferocity encountered.

Head of Hezbollah Executive Council Sayyed Hashem Safieddine stressed on Wednesday that the axis of resistance has unified its capabilities to engage in the major confrontation with the Israeli enemy.

Addressing “Al-Quds Shield” conference in Beirut, Sayyed Safieddine emphasized that the target is the demise of ‘Isael’ whose officials, consequently, started reflecting pessimism and losing temper.

His eminence indicated that the rulers’ policies have driven people away from the resistance project, adding that this allowed the Israeli enemy to exercise oppression without any limit.

Sayyed Safieddine warned Netanyahu that all the components of the axis of resistance would respond to any Israeli folly.

Sayyed Safieddine said, “As the West Bank is the Shield of al-Quds, we, all the resistance fighters, are the shield of the West Bank, al-Quds, and our people in Palestine and the Ummah to eradicate this entity.”

Sayyed Safieddine highlighted the role of the Islamic Republic since the Revolution emerged victorious in 1979 in supporting the Palestinian cause and shaking the pillars of the occupation entity despite all the high costs.

Sayyed Safieddine indicated that Imam Khomeni set Al-Quds International Day as being for all Muslims and free people across the world, not just the Palestinians.

الصين.. كل السهام أصابت أهدافها

تعيش الصين في بيئة دولية غير مستقرة، فالنظام الدولي يشهد مرحلة انتقالية هي الأخطر ربما، بانتظار ولادة نظام عالمي جديد.

الصين.. كل السهام أصابت أهدافها

انطلاقاً من المثل الصيني القائل: “لو أردت أن تلعب، فعليك أن تعرف قواعد اللعبة وزمنها”. لم يكن الإعلان عن الاتفاق لاستعادة العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين إيران والمملكة العربية السعودية حدثاً مفاجئاً، وخاصة على صعيد مراكز الدراسات والأبحاث الصينية.

لقد جرى الحديث عن ذلك عند زيارة الرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ إلى المملكة العربية السعودية في كانون الأول/ديسمبر الماضي، وكانت التوقعات بأن ينضم الرئيس الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي إلى تلك القمة.

جاء الإعلان عن التوصل إلى هذا الاتفاق برعاية صينية، ليكون إعلاناً لانخراط بكين وبشكل أكبر في قضايا الشرق الأوسط، بل سعيها للعب دور الوساطة في حل العديد من المشكلات الدولية وأهمها الحرب في أوكرانيا.

لم تكن بكين لتنخرط في ذلك لو لم تكن لديها فرص كبيرة للنجاح، خاصة أنها بغنى عن أي فشل قد يحسب عليها، ولا سيما على صعيد سياستها الخارجية، الهادئة والثابتة والمتوازنة، والقادرة على الفعل والابتعاد عن ردود الأفعال والصخب الإعلامي ما أمكن.

جاء ذلك الإعلان بعد انتهاء الصين من ترتيب ملفاتها الداخلية، ابتداء من إغلاق ملف كوفيد-19، وبدء عجلة الإنتاج في البلاد، مروراً بإعادة فتح حدودها مع العالم، وانتهاء بالتوصل إلى انتخاب الرئيس شي جين بينغ لولاية رئاسية ثالثة تكرسه قائداً استثنائياً في الصين.

تكريسه قائداً استثنائياً يتطلب منه تحقيق إنجازات استثنائية تنتظرها البلاد، ويتشوّق الشعب الصيني لتحقيقها. ولعل ثقتهم بالرئيس شي نابعة من نهجه الثابت في وضع برنامج زمني دقيق لتحقيق كل خطوة تعهد أمام الشعب بتحقيقها. وهو ما تجلى في تحقيقه القضاء على الفقر وفقاً للبرنامج الزمني المحدد، والذي لم يستطع انتشار الوباء في البلاد إيقافه أو تأجيله. 

لقد وضع الرئيس شي عنواناً لولايته الثالثة وهو “استكمال بناء الدولة” لتكون دولة عصرية بكل ما تعنيه الكلمة من معنى. فرغم التطور والنجاح اللذين حققتهما الصين، لكنه لا يزال يرى أن الصين دولة من دول العالم الثالث، تعاني ما تعانيه من مشكلات كثيرة على الصعيد الداخلي. كما تواجه تحديات كبيرة على الصعيد الخارجي.

فالصين دولة ليست محظوظة على صعيد الجغرافيا السياسية، فهي تعيش في بيئة إقليمية مضطربة، ولها حدود طويلة مع 14 بلداً، وما يزيد من تلك المخاطر أن هذه البلدان تعيش أوضاعاً أمنية غير مستقرة، وتنذر بمشكلات قابلة للانتقال عبر الحدود في حال حدوثها. 

كما تعيش الصين في بيئة دولية غير مستقرة، فالنظام الدولي يشهد مرحلة انتقالية هي الأخطر ربما، بانتظار ولادة نظام عالمي جديد. ولم تجر العادة أن يولد نظام عالمي جديد من دون مخاض عسير، وحرب طاحنة تكرس المنتصرين قادة لذلك النظام.

لقد استطاعت بكين ولعقود مضت النجاح في ما يسمى “التفكير بإيجابية” في تعاطيها مع المعطيات الدولية، بمعنى أنها لم تسع لمزاحمة الحضور الأميركي في المناطق الاستراتيجية من العالم، بل فكرت في كيفية الربح من اللعب في الهوامش على الساحة الدولية. 

فذهبت للاستثمار في أفريقيا حين كان الغرب والولايات المتحدة غير مهتمين بتلك القارة، وحققت نجاحات كبيرة فيها، جعلت من القارة هدفاً للتنافس الأميركي والغربي عليها في ما بعد.

كما استثمرت في الوجود العسكري الأميركي في العالم، من خلال افتراضها أن هذا الوجود يحقق نوعاً من الاستقرار في تلك المناطق، وبالتالي يضمن لها استمرار مصالحها الاقتصادية فيها.

ولم تكن بكين في عجلة من أمرها للانخراط في التصدي للمشكلات الدولية، ولعب دور الوساطة فيها، طالما أن هناك من يقوم بهذا الدور، ويوفر عليها تبعات القيام بذلك.

وكان السؤال الأهم بالنسبة إلى دول العالم جميعاً، ودول العالم الثالث على وجه التحديد هو: متى ستكون بكين قادرة وراغبة في تحمل نفقات قيادة العالم؟ وكانت الإجابة الصينية من وجهة نظري، أن الصين ليست في عجلة من أمرها طالما أن هناك قيادة للعالم تضمن لبكين مصالحها وتحقق لها غاياتها، خاصة وأن الصين قد أصبحت دولة كبرى في ظل هذا النظام الدولي القائم، بمعنى أنها نجحت في التعامل بإيجابية معه، ولا مصلحة لها في تغييره إذا ما استمر ذلك.

لكن الصعود الكبير للصين، وصل حد تهديد القائد الدولي لهذا النظام، فلم يعد من الممكن بالنسبة إليه التغاضي عن هذا الصعود الصيني، والعمل على إيقافه، أو على الأقل عرقلته.

لكن ذلك لم يكن يسيراً، فبكين استطاعت نسج علاقاتها الاقتصادية وتشبيكها بشكل كبير مع الأعداء قبل الأصدقاء، فلم يعد بمقدور الولايات المتحدة أو الغرب عموماً، الاستغناء عن تلك العلاقة مع الصين، أو حتى إيجاد سبل لتفكيكها.

وفي العقدين الأخيرين، أصبح التخلص من الصين بالنسبة إلى الولايات المتحدة “كمن يطلق النار على قدميه”. أما اليوم، فقد أصبح “كمن يطلق النار على صدره” ربما.

كما أصبح لزاماً على بكين أن تتقدم حفاظاً على مصالحها المتنامية، فمن ترد أن تصبح الدولة الأكبر في العالم لا يمكنها الاستمرار في البقاء خارج دائرة الصراع، وجني المكاسب الاقتصادية فقط.

من هنا، بدأت الصين بالتصدي لهذا الدور، والانطلاق نحو التدخل في المشكلات الدولية، والبحث عن حلول لها، من زاوية أنها دولة تحظى باحترام جميع الأطراف، ولا تقدم نفسها كدولة تقف مع طرف ضد آخر، ولا تفكر في استخدام القوة أو التلويح بها. بمعنى أنها تقدم نموذجاً جديداً للدولة العظمى التي تمتلك رؤية استراتيجية قوامها “الربح المشترك” لجميع الأطراف.

بمعنى أن بكين ستعمل على التخلص من “النظرية الواقعية” في العلاقات الدولية، التي كرستها الولايات المتحدة ولعقود مضت، تلك النظرية التي تؤمن بمبدأ القوة، القوة وحدها ولا شيء سواها، لتكرس “النظرية الاعتمادية” في العلاقات الدولية كبديل منها. هذه النظرية ترى أن جميع الدول تحتاج إلى بعضها بعضاً، ودور كل منها هو مكمل لباقي الأدوار وليس بديلاً منه، أو منافساً له. وبالتالي، فإن التعاون هو الطريق لتحقيق الكسب المشترك.

من هنا، فقد أطلقت بكين مجموعة من المبادرات، أولها مبادرتها للأمن العالمي والتي تضم 6 بنود، وهي مبادرة هامة ومفيدة بالنسبة إلى منطقتنا على وجه التحديد، كونها لم تغفل القضية الفلسطينية. وهي القضية التي كان لبكين موقف تاريخي مشرف منها، لجهة وقوفها مع الحق العربي، ورفضها إقامة علاقات دبلوماسية مع “دولة” الاحتلال حتى العام 1992، وبعد أن ذهب العرب إلى مؤتمر مدريد للسلام بدعوة أميركية، ومن دون أن يشترطوا حضور الصين كراع لهذه العملية، وهو ما جعل الصين تعيد حساباتها وتتجه للبحث عن مصالحها أولاً، مع الاحتفاظ بموقفها المبدئي من فلسطين. 

كما عملت بكين على تجهيز حزمة من المبادرات لحل العديد من المشكلات والقضايا الدولية، وكانت أولى هذه المبادرات التي توّجت بالنجاح مبدئياً، هي الوساطة الصينية بين كل من إيران والسعودية. 

تدرك بكين حجم التعقيدات التي تعترض هذا الملف، لكنها في الوقت نفسه، تجد فيه فرصة كبيرة لتحسين سمعتها لدى العالم الإسلامي عبر نجاحها في تحقيق الوفاق بين أكبر دولتين إسلاميتين في المنطقة. 

ففي السنوات الأخيرة، تعرضت بكين لحملة دعائية غربية روّجت لما يسمّى بـ “اضطهاد الحكومة الصينية للإيغور” المسلمين في الصين، بهدف اللعب على عواطف الشعوب الإسلامية وتحريضها ضد الصين. 

ولتكذيب تلك الادعاءات، تكفي الإشارة إلى وجود 10 قوميات مسلمة في الصين، فلماذا لم يسمع أحد عن اضطهاد الحكومة الصينية سوى للإيغور؟! إن نجاح بكين في تلك الوساطة يشكل خطوة أولى في الاتجاه الصحيح لإيجاد حل للمشكلات العالقة بين البلدين.

لقد جاءت هذه المبادرة انطلاقاً من تفهم بكين لحجم هاتين الدولتين ومكانتهما، وتأثيرهما الكبير في الساحتين الإقليمية والدولية، وانطلاقاً من أن التقارب بينهما هو الطريق لحل معظم المشكلات القائمة في المنطقة.  وما يعزز من فرص النجاح لهذه المبادرة، هو الرغبة المشتركة لطرفيها في تحقيق ذلك، انطلاقاً من رؤية عقلانية تحكم كلا الموقفين. وما يعزز من تلك الفرص، غياب العامل الأميركي المعطل لها، في ظل الفتور في العلاقات بين المملكة والولايات المتحدة. وفي ظل انسداد الأفق أمام طهران في استعادة تنفيذ برنامجها النووي. 

إن تبادل العلاقات الدبلوماسية بين بلدين لا يشكل حلاً للخلافات القائمة بينهما، لكنه يشكل خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح نحو مد جسور للحوار والبحث عن قواسم مشتركة يمكن البناء عليها. فالصين والولايات المتحدة، ورغم وجود تبادل دبلوماسي بينهما، فإن البلدين يعيشان حالة من العداء المتصاعد، لكن العقلانية تفرض عليهما بقاء القنوات مفتوحة للتواصل ونزع فتيل التوترات. فالتبادل الدبلوماسي وسيلة بكل تأكيد، وليس غاية.

The leader of Ansar Allah affirms that the movement will not squander the achievements of the Yemeni people in terms of freedom and independence.

The leader of Ansar Allah movement, Sayyed Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, said, “The stage we are in, in Yemen, is a stage of war, and what has calmed down is none but military escalation,” pointing out that “we are today in the position of confronting targeting and threats, as the stage of just following up on the news of the attacks on our nation [without acting] has come to an end.”

Al-Houthi warned and advised the coalition of aggression that patience will run out, “as we cannot accept depriving our people of their national wealth.”

He added, on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Hussein Badr Al-Din Al-Houthi, today, Friday, “We are currently going through a de-escalation phase under Omani mediation and intensive efforts to stop the aggression on Yemen.” He also thanked the Omanis for their efforts and stressed the necessity of addressing the humanitarian and livelihood file, which “we cannot barter or remain silent about.”

The Yemeni leader affirmed that “we will not squander the achievements of our people in terms of freedom, independence, and maintaining dignity,” stressing that in any dialogue to be held, “the [main point should be that] enemies must end their aggression against our country.” He warned that “time may run out and we may return to pressure options to obtain our people’s right to their wealth.”

“If peace is what they want, its path is clear; its key is [solving] the humanitarian file and its ultimate goal is to end the aggression, siege, and occupation.”

Enemies provide all kinds of weapons, including nuclear weapons

The leader of Ansar Allah movement said the Americans and Western countries occupy countries and appoint puppet governments therein to suppress anyone who opposes their hegemony.

Al-Houthi added that the Americans and their affiliates violate the sovereignty of states and their ambassadors meddle in everything, both issuing directives as if they are the rulers of the countries in question.

“The Americans are the ones that launch military attacks and aggressions, such as their invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan, their aggression against Yemen, and their occupation of Palestine,” the Yemeni leader said, adding that they “do their best to destabilize the security of our nation, through the founding of Takfiri groups and exerting pressure on the [countries’] regimes to facilitate their operations.”

In this context, he reaffirmed that “the Takfiri groups are made by the West and America with the aim of distorting the image of Islam.”

The Yemeni leader indicated that “the enemies provide all kinds of weapons, including nuclear weapons, to hostile countries, whereas the countries that come under attack are denied any such weapons.”

Al-Houthi affirmed, “They want us to be a nation deprived of any ability to defend itself, and that is why they are working to ban the supply of weapons to any country they want to target.”

He further added that “the enemies impose agents and ignorant individuals on peoples and in important positions in state institutions with the aim of inflicting as much damage on them as possible and controlling them, thus forcing peoples to yield.”

Absenting the Palestinian cause to wipe out the people’s memory

The Ansar Allah leader pointed out that “the enemies exerted strained efforts to keep the Palestinian cause out of the school curricula and were keen to exclude anything that could advance the nation’s level of awareness.”

He considered that “all forms of injustice and criminal activities are imposed on the Palestinian people on a daily basis.”

Hezbollah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah delivered on Thursday a speech on the Islamic Resistance Martyred Leaders Day.

As Sayyed Nasrallah condoled with the families of the martyr leaders, he recalled their sacrifices.

His Eminence further congratulated Iran, its people and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei on the 44^th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

 “The international and Arab media neglected the millions who poured into the streets to celebrate 44 years of the Islamic Revolution while they used to focus on gatherings or riots that had a few people,” he added, pointing out that “All who betted on toppling the Iranian revolution, especially the Zionists, made a mistake, and I advise them not build their calculations on such mirage.”

On the Lebanese side,  Sayyed Nasrallah hoped that the agreement with the Free Patriotic Movement continues. “The Mar Mikhail Agreement is in a critical situation and we hope it will be preserved for the sake of the national interest,” he mentioned.

Moreover, His Eminence condoled with the Lebanese and the lovers and advocates of late PM Rafik Hariri on the anniversary of his martyrdom.

Meanwhile, the Resistance Leader hailed the sacrifices of “the oppressed Bahraini people, who won’t abandon their national cause, nor that of Palestine and occupied Al-Quds.”

Regarding the celebrated anniversary, he underlined that “Our martyr leaders clung to the option of resistance despite all the difficulties, betrayal and stabs in the back of the resistance.”

“Our achievements were scored thanks to the blood of our martyrs, leaders and all martyrs in the resistance movements, the Lebanese army, the Palestinian factions and the Syrian army,” Sayyed Nasrallah added, cautioning that “Since 2019, Lebanon has entered into a new scheme to return the country into the era of US hegemony.”

In addition, His Eminence underscored that “The liberation of Lebanon, its water and oil, and the revival of hope through the Palestinian intifada in 2000 are among the main achievements against the enemy.”

“Former US President Barack Obama admitted that toppling regimes needs only to alter the public opinion with ‘spam’,” he said, noting that “Obama himself explained the US tools to overthrow regimes by making people lose confidence in their leadership, and this thought is adopted by Biden administration.”

According to Hezbollah Secretary General, “We’re facing the challenge of confronting the US media, political and economic tools, on top of which is the game of dollar price.”

“What helps the Americans in their scheme is the presence of corruption and errors in the administrations of the targeted countries,” Sayyed Nasrallah explained, noting that “We must take the initiative, plan and cooperate in order to overthrow the scheme of chaos, domination and tampering with our people’s minds to control them.”

Recalling that “In October 2019, the slogan was ‘All means all’, because what was required is that the Lebanese lose their confidence in all officials,” he confirmed that “The US embassy, along with some NGOs, were manufacturing leaders. However, this project failed.”

On the regional level, Sayyed Nasrallah renewed Hezbollah’s condolences with the Turkish and Syrian governments over the devastating earthquake. “We’re facing a great human tragedy, and what happened is a test to the humanity of every person, party, association and country,” he said, noting that “Syria’s earthquake revealed the US administration’s failure in the test of humanity in and its brutal criminal face.”

The Resistance leader went on to say “In the 1^st days of the earthquake, the American administration left the people die in Syria through its severe sanctions.”

His Eminence also slammed “The international community’s discrimination and double standards that were clear at various levels in dealing with the repercussions of the earthquake in Turkey and Syria.”

“The West’s double standards in dealing with the devastating earthquake in Syria and Turkey is a resounding human failure,” he said, urging “all sides to help Syria and Turkey to return to normal life, and this is the most difficult challenge.”

Sayyed Nasrallah cautioned that “According to experts’ expectations, Lebanon is facing a new challenge, which is the possibility of an earthquake.”

“The Lebanese government – even if it is a caretaker one – must initiate contingency plans in anticipation of a possible earthquake,” he stated, noting that “Despite its modest capabilities, Lebanon can set contingency and comprehensive plans to face the possibility of an earthquake.”

In parallel, Hezbollah Secretary General underlined that “Among the first steps the Lebanese state must consider is fixing the cracked buildings.”

“Directly after the earthquake, the buildings in the northern Lebanese city, Tripoli, were the first to come to my mind, and I confirmed our readiness to help,” he uncovered.

Sayyed Nasrallah praised the Lebanese government’s steps in sending the official delegation to Syria, and offering all kinds of assistance. “Lebanon would benefit the most from breaking the siege on Syria,” he stated.

Moving to the “Israeli” front, Hezbollah Secretary General explained that “The internal ‘Israeli’ situation is unprecedented, especially in light of the entity’s officials fear from a ‘civil’ war.”

“The ‘Israeli’ occupying entity’s President acknowledged his fears of an imminent internal explosion and the collapse of the entity,” he mentioned, praising the “Palestinian people’s new uprising, particularly the heroic operations of the Palestinian youth in Occupied Al-Quds, the West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

According to His Eminence, “The foolish Zionist government may push for escalation in the entire region, not just in Palestine, and this is a possibility, especially in case of attacking the Al-Aqsa Holy Mosque.”

On the internal Lebanese front, Sayyed Nasrallah unveiled that “There is nothing new in the presidential file and we all saw what happened in Paris. It is true that the Lebanese are responsible.”

“Efforts must continue to search for agreement and understanding in order to resolve the issue of Lebanese presidency,” he said, noting that “No one can impose a president on Lebanon and the effort should be domestic.”

His Eminence went on to say that “The uncontrolled rise in the dollar in face of the Lebanese Lira must be dealt with, and the demands of the public sector are very justified.”

“What is happening in Lebanon is mainly caused by American pressure and the policy of withdrawing funds and deposits in a planned manner,” he stressed, adding that “The Americans sent a lot of messages to Iran in order to conduct direct negotiations, but Tehran refused that. We must seek to achieve a strong economy in our country and search for other markets, such as China and Russia.”

Moreover, Sayyed Nasrallah urged the Lebanese “not to accept any procrastination by the companies in the oil and gas file.”

To the Americans, the Resistance Leader sent a sounding message: “The resistance’s environment that you are seeking to target with chaos, suffering and pain will not give up its principles.”

He warned against any procrastination in extracting oil from water, and the Americans must be told to stay away from such move

To the Americans, the Resistance Leader said: “If you’re to sow chaos in Lebanon, you will lose everything. If you push Lebanon into chaos, you must wait for chaos in the entire region, particularly ‘Israel’. Those pushing Lebanon into chaos and collapse must anticipate everything and things that can’t be imagined.”

“Just as we were ready for war in defense of our oil, we’re ready to hit your protégé, ‘Israel’,” he vowed, noting that “Tomorrow is close.”

The latest Arab Opinion Index 2022 is yet more proof that Arab societies are diverse in every possible way, from their assessment of their economic situation and living conditions to their take on immigration, state institutions and democracy, with one single exception: Palestine.

Seventy-six percent of all respondents to the poll, which is carried out annually by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Doha, said that Palestine is a cause for all Arabs, not Palestinians alone.

Three important points must be kept in mind when trying to understand this number:

First, Arabs are not merely expressing sympathy or solidarity with Palestinians. They are irrevocably stating that the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli Occupation is a collective Arab struggle.

Second, these views are the same across all sections of society throughout the entire geographic expanse of the Arab world, from the Gulf to the Maghreb regions.

Third, equally important is that the public opinions that have been examined in the poll come from countries whose governments have either full diplomatic ties with Israel or vehemently reject normalization.

The study is quite extensive, as it included 33,000 individual respondents and was carried out in the period between June to December 2022.

Once again, the Arab people collectively reject normalization with Israel, with Algeria and Mauritania topping the list at 99 percent each.

Though some might discount the detailed study by claiming that Arabs inherently hate Israel due to their deep-seated aversion to the Jews, the study breaks down the reason why Arab masses have such a low opinion of Israel.

When they were asked as to why they reject diplomatic ties between their countries and Israel, the respondents mostly “cited Israel’s colonial and expansionist policies, as well as its racism toward the Palestinians and its persistence in expropriating Palestinian land.”

Only five percent cited religious reasons behind their position, and that too cannot be dismissed as mere religious zealotry, as indeed many Arabs formulate their views based on the moral values enshrined in their religions; for example, the need to oppose and speak out against injustice.

It must be stated that this is hardly new. Arabs have exhibited these views with an unmistakable consistency since the start of the Arab Opinion Index in 2011, and one would dare argue, since the establishment of Israel atop the ruins of Palestine in 1948.

But if that is the case, why are the latest poll results deserving of a discussion?

While examining the American public view of Russia, the state of democracy in the US, or the greatest threat to national security, opinion polls often fluctuate from one year to the other. For example, 70 percent of all Americans considered Russia an ‘enemy’ to the US in March, compared to only 41 percent in January.

The massive jump in two months is not directly related to the Russian war in Ukraine, since Ukraine is not a US territory, but because of the anti-Russia media frenzy that has not ceased for a moment since the beginning of the war.

However, for Arabs, neither media shift in priorities, internal politics, class orientation, nor any other factor, seems to alter the status of Palestine as the leading Arab priority.

In 2017 and 2022, respectively, two American presidents visited the Arab region. Both Donald Trump and Joe Biden labored to execute a major shift in the region’s political priorities.

Biden summed up his agenda in a meeting with six Arab leaders in Jeddah in July by stating, “This trip is about once again positioning America in this region for the future. We are not going to leave a vacuum in the Middle East for Russia or China to fill.”

None of these self-serving priorities seem to be paying any real dividends.

That said, the pressure to dismiss the centrality of Palestine as an Arab cause does not only come from the outside. It is also guided by the internal dynamics of the region itself. For example, some pan-Arab news networks, which put much focus on Palestine in previous years, have been relentlessly and, sometimes, purposely ignoring Palestine as an urgent daily reality in favor of other topics that are consistent with the regional policies of host countries.

Yet, despite all of this, Palestine remains the core of Arab values, struggles and aspirations. How is this possible?

Unlike most Americans, Arabs do not necessarily formulate their views of the world based on the media agenda of the day, nor do they alter their behavior based on presidential speeches or political debates. To the contrary, their collective experiences made them particularly cynical of propaganda and fiery speeches. They formulate their views based on numerous grassroots channels of communication, whether using social media tools or listening to the Friday sermon in their local mosque.

The struggle for Palestine has been internalized in the everyday acts of the average Arab woman or man, from the names they choose for their newborn to the quiet muttering of prayers before falling asleep. No amount of propaganda can possibly reverse this.

Arab public opinion obviously matters, even though most Arab countries do not have functioning democratic systems. In fact, they matter most because of the lack of democracy.

Every society must have a system of political legitimacy, however nominal, for it to maintain relative stability. It means that the collective Arab view in support of Palestinians and rejection of normalization without an end to Israeli Occupation would have to be taken seriously.

Though some Arab governments are listening to their people and thus condition normalization on Palestinian freedom and sovereignty, the US and Israel insist on ignoring the Arab masses, as they have done for many years. However, if Washington believes that it can simply compel the Arabs to hate Russia and China and love Israel while the latter continues to kill Palestinians and occupy their land, it will be sorely disappointed, not only today but for many years to come.

The Jenin Massacre Won’t Go Unanswered, Hamas, Islamic Jihad Pledge

In wake of the ‘Israeli’ occupation regime’s Thursday massacre in the Palestinian city of Jenin, Hamas Spokesman Abdul Latif al-Qanu’ told Al-Ahed News that “Our people and resistance in the West Bank are in the course of an open confrontation against the occupation, in which the struggle won’t stop before the end of the occupation.”

“The joint Operations Room is following up the unfolding events and will take a decision accordingly,” Al-Qanu’ stressed, vowing that “The resistance, our people in al-Quds and the West Bank, and the detainees are united together and we won’t hesitate to get involved in another Operation ‘Al-Quds Sword’.”

For his part, the Islamic Jihad Spokesman, Tareq Silmi, underlined that assassinating the movement’s leaders in Jenin won’t end the resistance, which will rather continue to overthrow all of the Zionist enemy’s policies.

“As long as crimes are taking place, we are talking of an open battle against the occupier. Such crimes won’t go unanswered,” Silmi affirmed.

The spokesman added in remarks to Al-Ahed News that the “Islamic Jihad dealt with what happened in Jenin by confronting the enemy and inflicting injuries upon the occupation military personnel. We are speaking of killing the head of the Centralized Special Unit of the ‘Israeli’ police, also known as ‘Yamam’, and this response was united and represented through the unity in the battlefield.”

Silmi further affirmed the movement’s full readiness to confront the enemy and thwart all of its policies and conspiracies that aim at killing the spirit of resistance in the West Bank and eliminating the Palestinian cause.

Al Mayadeen correspondent in Ramallah reported that the IOF arrested around 14 Palestinians during their storming of the West Bank today.

Violent armed confrontations broke out between the Palestinian Resistance and the occupation forces in the city of Jenin, during which 3 brothers from Al-Mohr family were arrested.

Local sources reported that the IOF arrested the brothers Samer, Ahmed, and Mahmoud Al-Mohr, during their raid on the Jabriyat neighborhood in the city of Jenin, at dawn today, after which the Resistance fighters opened fire on Israeli occupation forces as they stormed the Jabriyat neighborhood in Jenin, according to Al Mayadeen correspondent in Ramallah.

An overwhelming majority of Arab citizens say they oppose normalization with Israel, believing instead that the Palestinian cause concerns the entire region

The US and Israel have been named the “biggest threats” to the security of the Arab world by citizens from across West Asia and North Africa, according to the 2022 Arab Opinion Index released on 19 January by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.

When presented with a list of countries and asked which poses the biggest threat to the Arab world, 84 percent of respondents said Israel, while 78 percent said the US.

Tied for third place are Iran and Russia, as 57 percent of respondents considered the two sanctioned nations the biggest threat to regional security. Meanwhile, 53 percent of citizens named France as a significant threat.

Turkiye and China were the only countries with positive results for their policies in the Arab world.

“There is a general sense of American hypocrisy on [West Asia] policy,” said Dana El Kurd, a professor at the University of Richmond, at a press briefing following the release of the findings.

Respondents, in particular, had a somber outlook on US policy on Palestine, as only 11 percent said they approved of Washington’s positions. On the other hand, 31 percent of respondents said they approved of Iran’s policies towards Palestine.

The poll also shows that 76 percent of respondents agreed that the Palestinian cause concerns all Arabs, not just Palestinians. An overwhelming majority (84 percent) said they would not support the normalization of ties with Israel.

This is true even in nations that have already normalized ties with Tel Aviv, like Jordan, Sudan, and Morocco, highlighting a clear divide between the interest of citizens and their leaders.

Even in Saudi Arabia, which Israel has considered the most crucial target for normalization, only five percent of respondents said they would favor such a deal.

When asked why they oppose normalization, respondents cited the over 70-year-long Israeli occupation of Palestine and the establishment of an apartheid state to persecute Palestinians as the main reason.

The Arab Opinion Index poll comprises in-person interviews with 33,000 respondents across 14 Arab countries. According to the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies, interviews with Saudi citizens took place over the phone.

Countries polled included Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Tunisia.
