Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah said it clear on Sunday: “We don’t fear war and there are no talks before the war on Gaza ends.”

Addressing a memorial service of the senior commander Wissam Tawil, known as “Hajj Jawad”, the Lebanese resistance leader hit back at the US and Israeli threats to expand the war in the region, especially in Lebanon and Yemen.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that Hezbollah has been ready for the war for 99 days, and fear nothing.

His eminence said that the Israeli brigades which the Zionist enemy threatened to send to the border with Lebanon are already defeated and exhausted, using a sarcastic term to respond to such threat: “Hello and welcome!”

As he saluted the resistance in Gaza over its epic steadfastness for 100 days, the Hezbollah leader underlined the huge Israeli human losses in the battles in both Gaza and Lebanon, pointing to the Israeli restrictions on announcing the real number of casualties.

Commenting on the US-UK aggression on Yemen, Sayyed Nasrallah affirmed that US President Joe Biden and his administration will find out that they have committed a folly.

Sayyed Nasrallah, meanwhile, revealed that the information obtained by Hezbollah confirms that the Islamic Resistance in Iraq fired a cruise missile at a sensitive target in the Israeli occupied city of Haifa, and that the Zionist enemy kept silent over the incident.

About the Occasion: “Valiant Hajj Jawad”

Sayyed Nasrallah saluted martyr Tawil as a valiant and calm Hezbollah commander who joined the resistance ranks in 1990 at early age (16 years).

The Hezbollah S.G. then talked about the great contributions of martyr Tawil, whom Sayyed Nasrallah said he would prefer to refer to with his nom du guerre, “Hajj Jawad.”

He was one of the commanders in the war against ISIL terrorist group in Syria, a war we have been proud to take part in,” Sayyed Nasrallah said in his televised address via Al-Manar. “Hajj Jawad left everything behind him as the war started in Lebanon 99 days ago. He went to the frontlines in the south, only going home on the last night before his martyrdom.” “Epic Steadfastness” Sayyed Nasrallah praised the Palestinian people and resistance in Gaza as saying: “100 days have passed and Gaza is still holding out. Gaza has been showing an epic steadfastness that is unparalleled in the history.” He pointed to the Zionist entity’s policy of media blackout, especially regarding the Israeli casualties and losses. “Israel in this war on Gaza is more restrictive and secretive than any other war. Political commentators, analysts and experts agree that Israel is mired in failure.” In this context, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the Zionist entity have failed to achieve both the implicit and explicit goals of the war on Gaza. “The implicit goals of the Israeli war are to occupy Gaza, displace the Gazans and to turn the enclave into a beach for the Israeli settlers in Gaza envelope.” “The Israeli enemy was neither able to eliminate the resistance in Gaza, nor able to eliminate the Hamas government. It is still fighting in Gaza city and Khan Yunis.” “100 days on the war, rockets are still being fired from northern Gaza towards Tel Aviv and settlements in Gaza envelope,” his eminence said, referring to Gaza resistance’s ability to run the battle.

“Epic Steadfastness”

Sayyed Nasrallah praised the Palestinian people and resistance in Gaza as saying: “100 days have passed and Gaza is still holding out. Gaza has been showing an epic steadfastness that is unparalleled in the history.”

He pointed to the Zionist entity’s policy of media blackout, especially regarding the Israeli casualties and losses.

“Israel in this war on Gaza is more restrictive and secretive than any other war. Political commentators, analysts and experts agree that Israel is mired in failure.”

In this context, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the Zionist entity have failed to achieve both the implicit and explicit goals of the war on Gaza.

“100 days on the war, rockets are still being fired from northern Gaza towards Tel Aviv and settlements in Gaza envelope,” his eminence said, referring to Gaza resistance’s ability to run the battle.

“Unprecedented Israeli Losses”

Sayyed Nasrallah noted that the Israeli occupation has been covering up its casualties and losses in Gaza since this will lead to a great frustration and cause low morale within the Israeli army and settlers.

“The enemy is still fighting to secure some achievements before moving to the third phase of the war in which it will redeploy its forces.”

His eminence cited Israeli media reports that talked about 4,000 soldiers who have become disabled.

“The Israeli media reports that 4,000 soldiers are now disabled, and that the number could reach 30,000. Brothers and sisters, if this is the case, how many Israeli soldiers have been killed or injured?!”

“According to numbers and figures, the Israeli human cost on all fronts is unprecedented.”

On the other hand, Sayyed Nasrallah noted that the legal case against the Zionist entity at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) “defames the image of the occupation regime and exposes the moral decline of the West over its support to Israel.”

Aggression on Yemen a “Folly

Meanwhile, the Hezbollah S.G. said that the US and its Western allies worked to thwart the fronts which have been opened in Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iraq in support of Gaza.

“The recent aggression on Yemen represents foolishness of both the US and the UK, as it also shows US’ contradiction. While Washington calls for not expanding the war, it is doing so. If Biden and his administration think that Yemen will retreat after the aggression, then they are wrong, suspicious, and ignorant.”

He affirmed, in this context, that the US aggression won’t stop the Yemeni attacks on Israeli ships and ships bound for the Zionist entity.

“The American aggression will harm the security of maritime navigation in the Red Sea, which will turn into a battlefield, and this is stupidity in itself.”

“Biden and his administration will find out that they have committed a folly by staging an aggression on Yemen.”

Sensitive Haifa Target Being Hit

Sayyed Nasrallah, furthermore, revealed that according to information obtained by Hezbollah, a sensitive target in Haifa was targeted by a cruise missile fired by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq.

“The Islamic Resistance in Iraq struck Haifa with a cruise missile, but the Israeli occupation kept the issue a secret.”

Meron Strike

Talking more about the Israeli media blackout on war losses, Sayyed Nasrallah gave another example, by revealing that the Israeli media claimed that Hezbollah struck Meron base, in retaliation for Israeli assassination of Hamas senior official Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri, with only 40 rockets.

“As the Israeli media reported that only 40 rockets were fired from Lebanon towards Meron base, we confirm that Hezbollah fired 62 rockets and missiles towards the base. 40 of these were Katyusha rockets, while the other 22 were Kornet missiles,” Sayyed Nasrallah said, affirming that 18 out of 22 missiles hit the base inflicting casualties and huge losses upon the Israeli enemy.

“Defeated Brigades”

Hitting back at US and Israeli threats for Lebanon, Sayyed Nasrallah said that similar threats have been made since the start of the war and that they were futile, wondering: “Will they be fruitful now following 100 days of failure and exhaustion?!”

He recalled the epic victory secured by the resistance in Lebanon during the 2006 July war, saying: “Though the Israeli army was fully prepared during July War, it was defeated.”

“The one who should fear the war in Lebanon is ‘Israel’ and the Israeli settlers. As for the resistance in Lebanon, we have been ready for the war for 99 days, we are not afraid of it. We fear nothing, and we will fight without limits and without borders.”

“They threaten us with defeated brigades in Gaza, we say: Hello and welcome.”

Sayyed Nasrallah then warned the US by saying: “The US which presents itself as a neutral player that is keen on Lebanon’s interests has to be concerned about the fate of its puppet in the region, Israel.”

He concluded his statement by stressing that there will be no talks to calm the front in Lebanon before the war on Gaza ends, noting that this also applies on other fronts that erupted in Yemen, Iraq and Syria in support of Gaza.

“Our stance is clear that the front in Lebanon is to support Gaza, and its goal is to stop the aggression on Gaza. The US and the UK, which approached the region, will hear one stance in Yemen, Lebanon, Syria and Iraq: Stop the war on Gaza.”

Sayyed Nasrallah: ‘Israel’ mired in failure; US intimidation futile

“Israel” is mired in failure and is stuck in “a deep hole” it has dug in the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said.

Speaking at the one-week anniversary of the martyrdom of Resistance leader and martyr Wissam Tawil (Hajj Jawad), today, Sunday, Sayyed Nasrallah hailed the Resistance of Gaza and its people, calling their steadfastness “legendary”.

“For one hundred days, Gaza and its people continue to steadfastly resist, in a legendary manner [that history has not witnessed],” the Lebanese Resistance leader confirmed.

Pointing to the role the Palestinian Resistance’s Military Media had to play in archiving and publicizing the events, resistance operations, and battles in Gaza, Sayyed Nasrallah said, “Gaza’s Resistance has creatively responded to the aggression, and the Military Media has had a major role in revealing its heroism in contrast to Israeli secrecy [on developments].”

“Israel is mired in failure and stuck in a deep hole it has dug in the Gaza Strip, as its analysts confirm, and it has not achieved any victory or even an ‘image’ of victory,” the Secretary-General of Hezbollah explained, highlighting “Israel’s” military failures in the Gaza Strip.

The enemy, according to Sayyed Nasrallah, is still fighting to achieve some sort of “achievement” before moving to the third phase of the war in which it will reposition its deployed forces.

100 days of legendary Resistance and mounting Israeli losses

Reflecting on the mounting Israeli losses, Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that this point is further confusing the occupation, especially considering the reports revealed by Israeli media regarding the presence of “4,000 disabled soldiers in its military ranks in [only] 100 days, a number that may rise and reach 30,000.”

When the war stops, the enemy will have to deal with the catastrophe that befell it as a result of the Resistance in Gaza and other supporting fronts, the Lebanese Resistance leader stressed.

“The occupation’s human losses are accumulating in [Gaza, the West Bank, and the Lebanese-Palestinian border], in addition to the economic losses and the cost of displacement,” he said.

In this context, Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized that “any hope of forcefully retrieving Israeli captives from the Palestinian Resistance has been laid to rest.”

On inner Israeli dynamics and politics, the Lebanese Resistance leader said the Israeli public has become confident that “their government is incompetent and must be replaced and so does their President,” which, according to Sayyed Nasrallah, is “a clear admission of failure.”

Commenting on “Israel’s” prosecution in the International Court of Justice (ICJ), after South Africa filed a lawsuit condemning the occupation of genocide, Sayyed Nasrallah said “Israel’s” real face has been exposed to the world, as revealed in the Hague earlier.

Effective support of the Axis of Resistance

Addressing the developments across the multiple fronts supporting the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah’s Secretary-General said if the current failures mount for the Israeli occupation in the West Bank, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iraq, paired with losses incurred in Gaza, the Israeli occupation’s government will be forced to accept the conditions set by the Resistance for a ceasefire.

“The Americans and many Western countries worked over a period of one hundred days to silence, subjugate, and thwart the other fronts,” Sayyed Nasrallah revealed, as he highlighted the integral role that the US has played in prolonging the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

He shed light on “the threats, acts of intimidation, and enticements against Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Iran,” which he saw as “evidence of the effectiveness” of the supporting fronts.

Furthermore, the Resistance leader underlined the floundering relations between Israelis and US officials, as the disagreement between the two allies began to publicly surface.

Turbelant Red Sea

Sayyed Nasrallah then delved into the details of the major events that have occurred on specific fronts in the region.

On Yemen and the Red Sea, the Lebanese Resistance leader spoke of “American and British foolishness” as well as contradictory American policy and actions, in relation to the recent US-UK-led aggression on several Governates in Yemen.

Sayyed Nasrallah also highlighted the fact that American escalation in the Red Sea contradicts the US’ alleged efforts to contain the scope of confrontations.

Underlining Yemen’s unwavering support to the Palestinian people and an apparent US miscalculation, the Secretary-General said, “If the Americans believe that Yemen will back down [i.e. cease its support for Gaza] after the aggression, then they are wrong, delusional, and ignorant.”

In fact, the Resistance leader said the aggression by the US would only harm the security of international maritime navigation, as the attack would turn the Red Sea into a battlefield.

This is stupidity in itself,” he stressed.

Shedding light on the autonomous decision-making among factions of the Axis of Resistance, Sayyed Nasrallah said the response to the American aggression would be “decided by the Yemenis themselves.” The leader said this in response to the threats the US made against Iran, regarding the response the Yemenis have vowed.

It is worth noting that Sayyed Nasrallah praised the position taken by Muslim Bahraini scholars and the Bahraini public, who declared their solidarity with Palestine and rejected the “humiliating” stance of the Bahraini government, which joined the US-led naval coalition.

Iraqi cruise missile hit on Haifa: Confirmed

On the unprecedented operations conducted by the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, the Resistance leader highlighted one particular operation, in which the Iraqi Resistance launched an all-new improved long-range cruise missile at an Israeli military site in the occupied port city of Haifa.

Sayyed Nasrallah said Hezbollah’s intelligence confirms that the missile hit its target, adding that the Israeli occupation’s military concealed the details of the attack, a tactic commonly deployed by Israeli authorities.

Hezbollah’s strategic ATGMs and Israeli lies

Similarly, the Israeli occupation has made great efforts to conceal its losses on the front with the Lebanese Resistance, according to Sayyed Nasrallah, who emphasized the extent of the enemy’s secrecy, stressing that “Israel” has failed to officially acknowledge the details of the attack on the “Meron” base by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon.

The leader revealed for the first time the details of the attack in which a total of 62 rockets were fired at the base, including 40 Katyushas (rocket artillery) and 22 Kornet missiles (anti-tank guided missiles). Hezbollah’s anti-armor units achieved great success with the 22 ATGMs fired at the site, which is located  7 km away from the nearest point in Lebanon and is located at the highest altitude of occupied Palestinian territories in the northern region.

In fact, the Resistance hit the site with 18 Kornet-EM missiles, achieving an 81.8% success rate against the intended target, Sayyed Nasrallah disclosed. He also revealed that the occupation’s military suffered human casualties as a result of the attack, which was monitored and documented by the cameras of the Resistance’s Military Media.

In this context, Sayyed Nasrallah debunked Israeli propaganda by pointing to the Islamic Resistance’s video evidence of the “Meron” base attack, exposing the enemy’s “falsehood”.

The Resistance leader said the Israeli occupation’s secrecy and censorship regarding the actual number of losses suffered add to the “erosion” of settlers’ and soldiers’ morale; a fact that has been acknowledged by Israeli media outlets.

Hezbollah undeterred by US threats; ready for war

To conclude his speech on the developments in the region, the Resistance leader defiantly announced that the US’ intimidation of the Lebanese Resistance would be of no use, underscoring Lebanon’s resilience against any attempts to halt the Resistance’s operations from South Lebanon.

Sayyed Nasrallah further emphasized that the threat of war should be a concern for “Israel”, not Lebanon. He stressed that the Resistance has been ready for any war imposed on Lebanon for the past 99 days.

“We have been ready for war for (the past) 99 days and we are not afraid of it. We will fight without restrictions or boundaries [if war is imposed on us],” the Resistance leader stated.

Sayyed Nasrallah also discussed the issue of multiple defeated Israeli brigades that have withdrawn from the Gaza Strip. He said that unnamed parties have told Hezbollah that these Israeli brigades will be repositioned to launch an attack on Lebanon. To that, Sayyed Nasrallah responded, saying that they are “more than welcome” to do so, insinuating utmost readiness for combat.

Moreover, he highlighted the fact that a fully equipped and prepared Israeli military was completely destroyed on the frontlines, on the border with Lebanese towns, by the Islamic Resistance in the 2006 July War.

He further explained that the Lebanon front was established to support Gaza and stop the aggression against it. Similarly, he said the security of the Red Sea, calm on the Lebanese front, and operations launched from Iraq hinge on halting the aggression on Gaza.

Finally, the Resistance leader drew a clear bold line for the US, “Israel”, and their allies, underscoring that the imperative precondition for any prospective talks is the immediate cessation of hostilities against Gaza.

Martyr Tawil; an exemplary leader and fighter

Speaking on the one-week martyrdom anniversary of Wissam Tawil (Hajj Jawad), Sayyed Nasrallah hailed the Resistance leader for his role on all fronts, pointing to the great history of the Lebanese town of Khirbet Selem from which multiple leaders of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon descended.

Hajj Jawad was martyred in his hometown Khirbet Selm in South Lebanon, after an Israeli drone targeted his car with a missile on January 7, this year.

Hezbollah’s leader pointed to the great sacrifices made by the Tawil family, specifically the martyrdom of Hajj Jawad’s two brothers Fadi and Hassan, along with his nephews Hussein and Mohammad who were all martyred while serving under the ranks of the Resistance. Sayyed Nasrallah drew a comparison between the Tawil family and many other families who have continued to send their sons to the front lines despite the great sacrifices they made.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that the families of the martyrs and wounded are the pillars of the Islamic Resistance, from which the group draws its power. Addressing the Lebanese people, he stressed, “We must all cooperate to remain steadfast in this battle, the extent of which we do not yet know.”

Martyr Tawil’s accolades

The leader went on to list the accolades of martyr Wissam Tawil, who joined the ranks of the Resistance at a young age, working his way to leadership roles, later commanding multiple axes throughout the group’s confrontations of the Israeli enemy and terror groups in Syria, including ISIS.

Interestingly, the late martyr, who was previously severely wounded, led Hezbollah’s training camps and was also ready to lead multiple combat operations against the Israeli occupation on October 8, when Hezbollah launched its first attacks in support of the Palestinian people and their Resistance.

Sayyed Nasrallah said the leader did not leave the frontlines until he returned home only to be martyred the very next day.

Hajj Jawad is one of the few who achieved both victory and martyrdom, the greatest of honors, Sayyed Nasrallah emphasized.

The Resistance leader was assassinated by the Israeli occupation in his home town Khirbet Selem in South Lebanon.

Hezbollah’s martyred top official Wissam Hassan Tawil (Hezbollah Military Media)

By Al Mayadeen English

Hezbollah announced on Monday the martyrdom of one of its Resistance commanders on the path to al-Quds, in an Israeli strike targeting his car in the town of Khirbet Selem, South Lebanon.

The Resistance party mourned its senior officer Wissam Hassan Tawil, codenamed Hajj Jawad, who had contributed his life to fighting the Israeli occupation in the past decades, and more recently the terrorist Western-backed proxies in Syria and Iraq, mainly ISIS, making him a key figure in confronting US-Israeli-led plots against the region.

Al Mayadeen sheds light on his heroic legacy

In a special coverage, Al Mayadeen shed light on the life and journey of the martyr and revealed some information about his final moments before his assassination.

The Resistance’s top leader had arrived at his home on the outskirts of the town of Khirbet Selem on Sunday evening, after being away for a long time.

His house is located approximately 19 to 20 kilometers away from the border with occupied Palestine.

The attack was carried out shortly after Tawil left his home around noon and headed to his car parked on the opposite side of the road. Circulating footage shows his car set ablaze.

How Tawil was assassinated remains inconclusive, especially considering Israeli reports suggesting that it could have been carried out using an IED.

Man of the field

The Israeli occupation had labeled Tawil as a top priority target for over two decades, due to his massive contributions to the Resistance and his vast participation in operations against the entity since the 1990s, when it was still occupying the Lebanese South.

He had been pursued by Israelis for many years and survived several assassination attempts.

Related News

Since the launch of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood on October 7, 2023, Hajj Jawad has been on the frontlines, even approaching the nearest point from the occupied Palestinian territories on several occasions, being just a few meters away from Israeli military bases.

Among his fellow fighters in the Islamic Resistance, he is known as the “man of the field” and an expert in all its details.

Following the news of his martyrdom, Israeli media outlets started publishing reports claiming that Tawil was the commander of Hezbollah’s elite Radwan Force. However, the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon categorically rejected the reports, stressing that there was no truth to it in any way.

A life dedicated to the Resistance

Hezbollah’s military media published a brief biography of the martyred commander, his contributions, and his key roles.

Part of all Hezbollah’s major operations

In 1985, Wisam Hassan Tawil joined Hezbollah and underwent various training stages, where his commitment to fieldwork became evident.

Between 1992-2000, the martyr became an active fighter among the Resistance ranks, participating in all combat and reconnaissance operations against the occupation, especially in the Iqlim al-Tuffah region, following the Israeli aggression on Lebanon in April 1996, after which he became deputy head of the Iqlim al-Tuffah axis.

Throughout his Resistance years, he sustained severe injuries, notably in 1999 during the Sujud operation.

Present on all fronts

He participated in many Islamic Resistance operations, before the liberation of South Lebanon and Western Bekaa in 2000. After the liberation, he took part in high-end operations against the Israeli enemy positions in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms.

He excelled in reconnaissance and information-gathering operations and was under the supervision of Hezbollah‘s martyred top commander Imad Moughniyeh (such as in the Aramta operation).

He also participated in developing programs related to the development of Hezbollah’s field operations.

In individual photos, martyr Tawil can be seen with current Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, martyr Imad Moughniyeh, martyred leader Mostafa Badreddine, and martyred leader of the IRGC’s Quds Force, martyr Qassem Soleimani, among others.

Transferring experience to the Palestinian Resistance

Tawil took part in the planning and reconnaissance stages of Resistance operations to capture Israeli soldiers in occupied Lebanese territories near the Palestinian border, most notably the Shebaa operation in 2000, al-Ghajar in 2005, and Kallet Warde (Ayta al-Shaab) in July 2006 (Operation Truthful Promise).

After the Israeli occupation launched the war on Lebanon in July 2006, the now-martyred official played a key role in resisting the aggression, leading up to the historic victory against “Israel” in August 2006.

Following the war, Hezbollah engaged in deep structural changes as part of lessons derived from the war aimed at developing and improving the Resistance and its capabilities. Tawil was one of the leading figures to materialize this plan between 2006 and 2011.

As the war on Syria broke out in 2011, he was in the vanguard of the fighters joining forces in the face of terrorist organizations.

Moreover, one of his most crucial contributions was transferring Hezbollah’s experience to the Palestinian Resistance and participating in the liberation of Iraq from US-backed ISIS.
