President Assad and First Lady Asmaa Vote in the Liberated City of Douma

ARABI SOURI

President Bashar Assad and First Lady Asmaa Cast their Votes in Douma

President Bashar Assad and First Lady Asmaa cast their votes in a voting center in the city of Douma (Duma), Ghouta, Damascus Countryside, in the presidential election race.

The Syrian president chose Douma to send messages with high significance to all the concerned parties, Douma was the main center for the NATO and Gulfies sponsored terrorists who they were relying on to take over Damascus, it was run by tens of thousands of terrorists and was liberated in the final days without any serious battle, the people of Douma were fighting on the side of their Syrian Arab Army against the terrorists who infested their city and wanted to turn it into an anti-Islamic Wahhabi and Muslim Brotherhood styled enclave.

President Assad after casting his vote addressed the people in a heart-touching short speech thanking them for their steadfastness in the worst years under the occupation of terrorist groups and thanked them for their very active contribution in the last parliamentary elections and in this current presidential election, an indication that President Assad saw as an adequate message to those who were working on destabilizing Syria and were pushing the Syrian people to fight each other.

Following is the video of his speech followed by the full transcript of President Assad translated into English

Transcript of President Assad’s speech:

I am pleased when I visit and my wife today, the city of Douma, to meet its honorable people and its people, and to share with them this great national merit.

Since this is our first visit after liberation, we must begin by congratulating the people of this city on liberation from the yoke of terrorism, on returning to the embrace of the homeland, and on contributing with their brothers in the rest of the liberated areas and with the people of the country, in general, to restore life to normal, even gradually, and in participating in national entitlements, whether the last elections to the People’s Assembly (the Parliament) or the presidential elections today.

This city has several names, it is called the Capital of Ghouta, it is called Bride of Ghouta, the terrorists tried during their occupation of it to distort its image and defile its reputation, but in reality, at that time most of Douma’s people were inside the city and outside the city, and this is the case for the rest of the regions, whether Ghouta or Other areas that were under the occupation of terrorists, they used to communicate continuously with state institutions in one way or another, urging and exhorting the state to come, and the Syrian Arab Army to liberate, and the law to return, implementation and stability, that is, the rule of law; and some of the people of this city paid their lives just for this communication or simply for showing that desire.

There are people from Douma and Ghouta who fought with the Syrian Arab Army on the outskirts of this city and on the borders of these orchards and fields, and some of them martyred, some of them joined the army regularly and some fought as auxiliary forces; there’s no better indication about these facts from the great popular interaction that we saw in this city and in this region and its villages, orchards, and farms during the election period, the interaction was spontaneous and the interaction was completely clear, expressing a real national situation that is not fake.

Syria is not what they used to try to paint it as a region against a region, and a city against a city and a sect against a sect, a civil war, or a conflict between the Syrians, the truth is no, today we are proving from the city of Douma that the Syrian people are one people in one trench in the face of terrorism, treason, and betrayal.

The second point, this national occasion is also an occasion for us all to remember that this liberation and this merit today that we are practicing in this city and in other liberated areas would not have been possible without the thousands of martyrs who fell in defense of the land and the people in Douma and tens of thousands in other regions of Syria.

On the other side, this (elections) merit, and this popular reaction that we see is an affirmation that the Syrian citizen is free, the decision of the Syrian citizen is in that citizen’s hands, in the hands of the people, not in the hands of any other party, and therefore all the recent statements we hear from Western countries, most of which have a colonial history, (these statements) have begun before the campaign (the elections) and continued until the last few days and perhaps the past few hours that comment on these elections and give an evaluation of them and determine their legitimacy and illegality, of course, we as a state do not care about such statements, but the most important thing about what the state says or is silent about it is what the people say, I believe that the movement that we have seen during the past weeks was an adequate and clear response to all of these, and it tells them the value of your opinions is zero.

We greet all the people of Douma, all the people of Ghouta, and all the people of the liberated areas, and certainly, with each other together, we will work, we will build our cities, villages, and towns, and we will restore to our fields their splendor and fragrance, and greetings are all greetings to all the Syrian Arab people everywhere, inside the homeland and outside the homeland, in Syria, and in the diaspora, because he is the one who has the only credit for every achievement and any achievement, no matter how small and no matter how big, because he is the one who sacrificed and he is the one who persevered and he is the one who reaped.

Thank you.

End of the transcript.

The Judicial Constitutional Elections Committee extended the voting in the country for an additional five hours to accommodate the unprecedented large numbers of voters. Foreign observers from official delegates from a number of friendly countries and independent observers monitored the elections today.

Over 18 million Syrians are eligible for voting and despite attempts by terrorists and separatists working for the USA and its proxies, the turnout of the people for voting is overwhelming in numbers and feelings and messages in all fields to those concerned.

Syria has won and it’s a matter of days and few weeks before the western world starts to accept their defeat in their plot to destroy Syria and will start their u-turn in their policies and reestablish the diplomatic relations with Syria they severed when they joined the evil US war of terror and war of attrition against the Syrian people for an entire decade.

Syria: White Helmets Engaged In Organ Trafficking, Aiding Terrorists, Looting

Local Editor

The Western-backed so-called White Helmets group engaged in organ trafficking, terrorist logistics support and looting in Syria, according to a report presented to the UN.

The evidence was presented by the director of the Russia-based Study of Democracy Foundation Maxim Grigoriev on Thursday.

The report is based on interviews with over 100 eyewitnesses, including 40 White Helmets members, 50 local residents and 15 former terrorist fighters.

Over 500 civilians were also surveyed in the Syrian cities of Aleppo and Deraa.

“There is overwhelming evidence which proves that the White Helmets centers were permanently engaged in building fortifications for battle positions for terrorist and illegal armed groups who had been supplying them with water and food and evacuating wounded terrorists from the front line,” said Grigoriev.

Grigoriev detailed how the group provided logistics support for armed groups, assisting in transporting troops and supplies.

The researcher went on to quote a White Helmets member from the formerly terrorist-held Syrian town of Douma saying, “for instance, we dug trenches in the towns of Mesraba and al-Shaifuniya and constructed an earthen mound.”

The director presented harrowing accounts indicating the group’s involvement in human organ trafficking.

“People evacuated by the White Helmets often did not come back alive,” Grigoriev said quoting a witness from an area where the group operated.

“For example, a person receives a minor injury, is rescued, evacuated and then brought back with their stomach cut open and with their internal organs missing.”

Citing reports from the organization’s members in the Syrian town of Saqba, the study also revealed extensive corruption within the group’s network, with leaders making private gains out of donations and members looting the civilian population.

“Sometimes we came to help, entered a flat, and, if we found gold or jewelry, seized it,” Grigoriev quoted a White Helmets member in Douma. “In one flat, there was a woman who felt ill, we came to help her, found some gold and stole it.”

Reiterating previous reports about the group’s attempts at staging civilian casualties and chemical attacks, Grigoriev pointed to a particular case in Jisr al Haj, Aleppo where trash was set on fire and bodies were brought from a local morgue to stage a filmed rescue.

A written testimony from a White Helmet member claimed that everyone involved had received an extra $50 for the effort.

Grigoriev went on to explain that “undeniable evidence” indicated the group had been taking written orders from terrorist groups and that almost all group members were paid staff, not volunteers.

The evidence, the researcher said, proved that the White Helmets is not an “aid group” but an extension of terrorist groups in Syria.

“Facebook accounts of members of the White Helmets are full of propagandist materials of terrorist groups, including [Daesh] and al-Qaeda, praising Osama bin Laden and other individuals listed by the UN as terrorists,” added Grigoriev.

The director highlighted that “hundreds of photos with weapons in their hands” were available on social media.

Russia’s UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia, who was also present at the UN hearing, said the evidence showed that “the White Helmets deserve to be on the United Nations’ designated terrorist list.”

The so-called White Helmets group, projected by the West as “civil defense workers,” was established by former British Army officer James Le Mesurier in 2014.

The self-styled volunteer group has been repeatedly accused of acting as the media arm for Takfiri terrorist groups, and charged with staging false flag chemical attacks in a bid to prompt Western military intervention in Syria.

In July, several hundred people affiliated with the group were evacuated from southern Syria to “Israel” amid a successful Syrian Army operation in the region.

The UK, Canada, and Germany have proudly announced interest in accepting the White Helmets as refugees.

Deconstructing the NATO Narrative on Syria

“Prem Shankar Jha’s, “Who Fired The First Shot?” described the slaughter of 20 Syrian soldiers outside Dara’a a month later, “by cutting their throats, and cutting off the head of one of the soldiers.” A very “moderate”-rebel practice.

In “Syria: The Hidden Massacre” Sharmine Narwani investigated the early massacres of Syrian soldiers, noting that many of the murders occurred even after the Syrian government had abolished the state security courts, lifted the state of emergency, granted general amnesties, and recognized the right to peaceful protest. [https://www.rt.com/op-ed/157412-syria-hidden-massacre-2011/#_blank]

The April 10, 2011 murder of Banyas farmer Nidal Janoud was one of the first horrific murders of Syrian civilians by so-called “unarmed protesters.” Face gashed open, mutilated and bleeding, Janoud was paraded by an armed mob, who then hacked him to death.

Father Frans Van der Ludt—the Dutch priest living in Syria for nearly 5 decades prior to his April 7, 2014 assassination by militants occupying the old city of Homs—wrote (repeatedly) of the “armed demonstrators” he saw in early protests, “who began to shoot at the police first.”

SUPPORT FOR PRESIDENT ASSAD:

“On March 29, 2011 (less than two weeks into the fantasy “revolution”) over 6 million people across Syria took to the streets in support of President al-Assad. In June, a reported hundreds of thousands marched in Damascus in support of the president, with a 2.3 km long Syrian flag. In November, 2011 (9 months into the chaos), masses again held demonstrations supporting President al-Assad, notably in Homs (the so-called “capital of the ‘revolution’”), Dara’a (the so-called “birthplace of the ‘revolution’”), Deir ez-Zour, Raqqa, Latakia, and Damascus.

Mass demonstrations like this have occurred repeatedly since, including inMarch 2012, in May 2014 in the lead-up to Presidential elections, and in June 2015, to note just some of the larger rallies.

In May 2013, it was reported that even NATO recognized the Syrian president’s increased popularity. “The data, relayed to NATO over the last month, asserted that 70 percent of Syrians support” the Assad government. At present, the number is now at least 80 percent.

The most telling barometer of Assad’s support base was the Presidential elections in June 2014, which saw 74 percent (11.6 million) of 15.8 million registered Syrian voters vote, with President al-Assad winning 88 percent of the votes. The lengths Syrians outside of Syria went to in order to vote included flooding the Syrian embassy in Beirut for two full days (and walking several kilometres to get there) and flying from countries with closed Syrian embassies to Damascus airport simply to cast their votes. Within Syria, Syrians braved terrorist mortars and rockets designed to keep them from voting; 151 shells were fired on Damascus alone, killing 5 and maiming 33 Syrians.”

INTERNAL REFUGEES HOUSED IN GOVERNMENT SECURED REGIONS:

“…the owner is displaced from Aleppo, from one of the first areas to be infested by terrorists. He lost he three apparently very-well known and loved croissant/bakery shops, all the equipment, his home and all furnishings when he and family fled the terrorists to Latakia. His personal loss also of course affected the 10 employees he had in Aleppo. Here, he worked for about 4 months in Jableh before opening his first croissant shop in Latakia, which has since blossomed into two apparently very popular croissant shops.

Of note: one of millions of internally displaced in Syria who have fled the terrorists to government-secured safe areas to re-start life, losing all his investment, but also again dispelling the MSM myth of Syrians fleeing the government and SAA.

Another shop owner fled a different area of Aleppo for the same reason, losing his garment factory (where 76 people worked), all of the equipment inside (including 40 machines), and his shop in the Old City of Aleppo, which like the factory was looted by western-backed “freedom-loving” “moderate-rebel” terrorists.

He too has re-opened in Latakia, starting slowly, first getting a small space in one of the markets here and selling others’ clothes, then acquiring a small workshop to manufacture his own again.

His story is filled with sadness and loss, including a 20 day old son…of kidnappings by the thugs the west calls “rebels”, and also of the steadfastness exhibited by Syrians over and over during this dirty war on the sovereign nation….”

“Tartous houses 1 million internally-displaced from all over Syria, including people from Deir ez-Zor, Raqqa, Aleppo, Homs, and elsewhere, according to the Governor of Aleppo (as of mid-2016), who said the city is known as “mini-Syria” in recent years due to its hosting of Syrians from all over.

“The 1 million IDPs share Tartous’ resources, schools, and hospitals with 1 million inhabitants.”

They are not housed in tents and camps, but in schools/other buildings-turned refugee centres, as well as houses. I visited one of these centres while in Tartous, also visiting centres in Latakia, Aleppo, Damascus over the past few years.”

Serena Shim exposed Turkey’s role in Syria:

“As Shim’s sister Fatmeh Shim stated in 2015, “She caught them bringing in ISIS high-ranked members into Syria from Turkey into camps, which are supposed to be Syrian refugee camps.”

Serena Shim’s January 2013 expose, “Turkey’s Pivotal Role in Syria’s Insurgency: PressTV Report from Inside Turkey,” showed footage of what she estimated to be 300 semi-trucks “awaiting militants to empty them out”; included testimony explaining how Turkey enables the crossing of foreign terrorists “freely” into Syria; spoke of the funneling of arms via the Incirlik US Air Base in Turkey to terrorists in refugee camps or on through to Syria; and highlighted the issue of terrorist training camps portrayed as refugee camps, guarded by the Turkish military.

Shim named the World Food Organization as one of the NGOs whose trucks were being used to funnel terrorists’ arms into Syria, and stated this in her last interview, just one day before being killed. Notably, in that interview she also explicitly stated that she feared for her life because Turkish intelligence had accused her of being a spy.

On April 7, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Tiger Forces launched their ground assault on the last stronghold of Jaysh al-Islam in the Damascus subrub of Eastern Ghouta – the Duma district. According to the Hezbollah media wing, the SAA and its allies captured most of the farms south and west of Duma.

Syrian pro-government sources reported that warplanes of the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) had destroyed more than 300 positions of Jaysh al-Islam, including the main headquarter, communication networks and ammo depots, in Duma district over the last 24 hours.

While the SAA is stepping up its military operation in Duma district, negotiations between Russia and officials of Jaysh al-Islam are still ongoing. However, Syrian pro-government activists believe that Jaysh al-Islam is not willing to accept a peaceful solution and that its leadership is negotiating only to buy more time.
