ISRAEL, TURKEY CONTINUE TO ESCALATE OPERATIONS IN SYRIA

 09.06.2022

South Front

Israel and Turkey escalated their military operations in Syria recently, in what appears to be an attempt to further their interests and expand their influence in the war-torn country while Russia is thought to be busy with its military operation in Ukraine.

Israeli attacks on Syria are becoming more frequent. Late on June 6, warplanes of the Israeli Air Force launched several guided missiles from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights at the southern outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

A source in the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) said that many of the missiles were intercepted. However, some damage was reported near the town of the town of al-Kiswah, where several bases and research facilities of the SAA are located.

Early on June 8, the Israeli Defence Forces attacked again. Several Israeli battle tanks advanced in the UN-monitored buffer zone in the southern governorate of al-Quneitra and targeted an observation post of the SAA near the town of al-Malgah. The attack was a blatant violation of the 1974 separation of forces agreement.

Following the attack, the Israeli military dropped leaflets over al-Qunitra warning the officers and soldiers of the SAA against operating within the buffer zone.

Israel’s recent attacks were likely meant to further pressure Damascus over its alliance with Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah as well as to weaken its authority over the al-Quneitra buffer zone.

Meanwhile, Turkey continues to prepare to launch a new military operation against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northern and northeastern Syria.

As of June 8, the Turkish military and its proxies continue to shell SDF-held areas in the northern and northeastern Aleppo countryside, the northern Raqqa countryside and the northern countryside of al-Hasakah. The presence of Russian forces and SAA units in these areas didn’t deter Ankara.

The Turkish military and its proxies also continue to amass their forces near the SDF-held towns of Tell Rifaat and Manbij in the northern Aleppo countryside. The two towns are expected to be the main targets of Turkey’s upcoming operation.

Russia has been working to restrain the actions of both Israel and Turkey in Syria by developing its cooperation with the SAA and expanding its military presence in hot regions.

On June 7, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) and the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) concluded a joint live-fire exercise, which simulated facing “hostile” fighter jets and drones that violated Syrian airspace. During the exercise, Syrian and Russian fighter jets monitored and shot down hostile aerial threats at day and night.

Su-35s, Su-34 and Su-24M fighter jets from the VKS as well as MiG-23ML and MiG-29SM fighter jets from the SyAAF took part in the exercise.

Syrian and Russian warplanes also conducted a joint patrol along the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights as well as over the country’s eastern and northern regions, where Turkish forces are present.

The exercise, which demonstrated Russia’s commitment to the safety and security of Syria, was likely a message to Israel and Turkey. Both countries have been attempting to marginalize the Russian role in the country.

Israel Bombs Southern Region in Syria Killing a Syrian Soldier

ARABI SOURI

Syrian air defense shoot down incoming Israeli missile – file photo – الدفاع الجوي السوري يعترض صاروخ اسرائيلي

Israel bombed a number of posts of the Syrian army in the southern region with missiles fired from over the occupied Syrian Golan, the blatant aggression which killed a Syrian soldier is meant to prevent the withdrawal of the US troops by dragging them into a regional war.

A military spokesperson in a statement to the Syrian news agency Sana said:

‘About 12:50 am today, 16 December, the Israeli enemy carried out an air aggression with bursts of missiles from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points in the southern region.’
Adding: ‘Our air defenses confronted the aggression’s missiles shooting down most of them.’ The military spokesperson concluded: ‘the Israeli aggression led to the death of a soldier and some material losses.’

The military spokesperson did not specify which areas were targeted, the ‘southern region’ refers to the provinces of Daraa, Quneitra, and Sweida, in addition to the southern parts of Damascus countryside which encircles the Syrian capital Damascus.

It has been agreed upon by analysts to call these Israeli attacks ‘battles between the wars’ where they do not lead to major escalations, in the thinking of the Israeli leaders, especially since Syria is engaged in an eleven years ongoing vicious war against terror in most of the northern Syrian provinces, a terror that is sponsored by the western superpowers, the super-rich countries, with tens of thousands of suicide bombers, only one of who would put a city of Boston on full alert for two days like what happened during the Boston Marathon’s cooking pot explosion.

In addition to combating the anti-Islamic suicide Wahhabi and Muslim Brotherhood terrorists in addition to the Kurdish SDF separatist terrorists, and indirectly their sponsors who also wage economic warfare on the country, the Syrian armed forces, Syrian Resistance, and the Syrian people are engaged in direct confrontations with NATO forces, the Biden oil thieves, the Turkish factories thieves, in the north, and the Biden forces directing the remnants of ISIS and its affiliated ‘Maghawir Thawra’ terrorists from their illegal base in Al Tanf in the depth of the Syrian desert at the joint borders with Iraq and Jordan.

It is also no secret that the Israeli lobbyists in the western hemisphere and in Russia control most of the media including the major social media platforms, which also turn its audience into ignorant Sheeple, therefore, a wide range of anger or at least concern of these attacks will not be seen, however, we will see the hysterical cries of these same media outlets when Syria retaliates, just wait and observe.

Last week’s Israeli bombing of the containers yard in Latakia Port, Syria’s largest seaport, was an escalation crossing all lines by the US/ UK/ France/ Germany/ Russian protectorate Israel; killing a Syrian soldier in this bombing is a push further to provoke the Syrian armed forces to respond, will the inevitable response come before Biden concludes the withdrawal of his forces by year-end before they get barbecued and sent back in body bags as the mighty Axis of Resistance in Iraq and Syria backed by Iran, vowed to, or a surgical response will be necessary to put an end of these violations of international law by Israel will be carried sacrificing Biden forces either way? The coming two weeks will tell.

Law Enforcement Seize Israeli Weapons and Drugs in the Southern Region

Syrian law enforcement seize quantities of weapons - munition - drugs in southern region

Syrian law enforcement seized a new stash of weapons, explosives, Captagon pills, and drugs in the southern region left behind by the defeated NATO-sponsored terrorist groups.

Law enforcement units with the help of locals in the town of Kanaker in Damascus southwestern countryside seized amounts of highly-explosive C4 substances.

The law enforcement units operating in Damascus southwestern countryside, in particular in the Bariqa town in Quneitar countryside found and seized Western-made weapons, PKC machine guns, RPGs, radio communication devices, anti-personnel landmines, and Israeli-made anti-tank mines.

More drugs and medicines, also some of them are made in Israel with US taxpayers’ money, were found by the law enforcement units in the northern countryside of Quneitra.

Large quantities of weapons, munition, advanced communication short and medium-range and satellite communication devices, medicines, and drugs continue to be found by the locals in the areas cleaned from NATO-sponsored terrorists all over the country who in turn contact the law enforcement in their regions to handle them, unfortunately, many of the landmines, IEDs, and other munition are found by children or farmers working on their farms and are blown up in them leaving hundreds of casualties killed and maimed.

In December 2018, the Russian Ministry of Defense set up a special museum to display samples of some of the weapons left behind by the terrorists in Syria displaying some of the most advanced weapons and gears that astonished the museum’s visitors including President Putin himself:

NATO-sponsored ‘freedom fighters’ and ‘democracy promoters’ in Syria, and in other areas where they operated, are highly dependant on drugs to enable them to commit the most heinous crimes without hesitating and with no remorse.

Weapons, munition, and drugs are not cheap, yet, the western taxpayers prioritize funding Israel and terrorist groups to acquire these killing tools instead of using their hard-earned tax money to build their own countries, house their homeless people, feed their hungry ones, cover their own relatives’ medical treatment, and relief their own children from the student loans.

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is preparing to storm the town of Umm Batnah that is located in al-Quneitra countryside, near the separation of forces line with the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, Syrian sources reported on May 1.

The decision to launch an operation inside the town was taken following a fierce attack on a checkpoint of government forces.

The checkpoint, which is located near Umm Batnah, was attacked by unidentified gunmen late on April 30. A number of Syrian service members were reportedly killed or injured as a result of the attack.

Following the attack, the SAA shelled the town from its positions in the nearby al-Sha‘ār hill. The army also laid a siege on the town. Civilians were allowed to leave on May 1 morning.

According to local sources, efforts to avoid a costly military confrontation are underway. Elderlies from Umm Batnah are holding talks with Syrian officers, who want to expel all militants to opposition-held areas in northern Syria.

In the last few weeks, a series of attacks targeted service members and civilians in the al-Quneitra countryside. Most of the attacks took place near the separation of forces line.

The serious measures being taken in Umm Batnah indicates that the SAA is determined to put an end to the chaos in al-Qantara countryside.

Israel Strikes Syria To Celebrate Whitewashing Of Al-Qaeda In Idlib

South Front

 04.02.2021

You can read this article in German. LINK

Israel is becoming increasingly assertive in its strikes and raids, allegedly against Iranian positions, on Syrian soil.

This is more than likely owed to the fact that US activity is at a low-point following Joe Biden’s inauguration.

Israel feels threatened by the slim possibility that the Iran Nuclear Deal will be revived. As such it is left to fend for itself and it appears to be doing so quite ferociously.

In the late hours of February 3rd, the Israeli military launched a large-scale attack on southern Syria. The Syrian Arab Army General Command said that that air-to-ground and ground-to-ground missiles were launched in a heavy barrage.

According to local sources the barrage targeted Damascus International Airport, Mezzeh Military Airport, a Syrian Arab Army base near the district of Kiswah, and a series of military sites in Daraa and al-Quneitra.

The Syrian military says that some of the missiles were intercepted, others caused only material damage.

Israel’s primary targets in the region are Iranian positions, or those of pro-Iranian groups and proxies. This includes Hezbollah targets, to limit the efforts of its Lebanese neighbor.

It is plain to notice what has changed in the most recent attack – it was launched from Israeli soil. In usual practice, the Israeli air force encroaches on Lebanese airspace to carry out its raids.

On February 3rd, however, an Israeli drone was targeted by a Hezbollah anti-aircraft missile. This is a rare occurrence, even if it only targets a drone. It means that the airspace encroachment is becoming more dangerous.

This is a testament to Hezbollah’s increasing capability in limiting Israel’s freedom of action.

The increasing Israeli activity in both frequency and scale, are providing a window of opportunity to ISIS terrorists throughout Syria, and predominantly in Homs and Deir Ezzor.

In the early hours of February 3rd, a surprise attack by an ISIS cell resulted in the deaths of at least 12 pro-Syrian government fighters.

There has been an increased intensity of ISIS attacks in recent weeks. It is quite self-evident that this arose amid Israel’s continued attacks on Syrian Army positions and civilian infrastructure under the pretext that they host Iranian forces.

Even if the Syrian Arab Army is preoccupied with defense, its allies in the form of Russia and Iran are picking up the slack.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is set to establish a tribal force in Deir Ezzor. The main aim of this force will be to support the Iranian and pro-Iranian forces in the region and to serve in a style similar to the “ISIS Hunters”. Despite Israel’s “best efforts” Tehran’s influence in Syria is growing, and this is more evidence of that.

A region that has received less attention in recent weeks, due to the general chaos, is Idlib.

Russian warplanes continue pounding the al-Qaeda-linked “moderate opposition” in the area, attempting to put a stop to its adventurism beyond the demilitarized zone. The ceasefire must hold and Moscow attempts to limit militants’ attempts to compromise it.

Meanwhile, the terrorists in Idlib are being whitewashed, and presented anew as “freedom fighters”. PBS Frontline presented the head of Jabhat al-Nusra (currently Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham) as a reformed hero, working towards peace. For years he had a $10 million bounty on his head for leading the world’s No 1 terrorist organization. That appears to be no more, he is now a hero fighting against suppression.

The chaos in the Middle East is growing, amid increasing Israeli activity and renewed attempts to whitewash known terrorists by MSM. Despite Damascus’, Moscow’s and Tehran’s best efforts, the situation has the potential to get much worse, before it gets any better.

Israel Is Searching For Pretext To Invade Southern Syria

South Front

The Russian military and Russian-backed Syrian forces have been increasing their presence on the border with Iraq.

Less than a week ago, the Russian Military Police established a local HQ in al-Bukamal. Recently, the 5th Corps of the Syrian Army, known for its links with the Russian military, created a network of border posts in the area. The move was apparently coordinated with Iranian-backed forces and the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces that actively operate in the border area.

Al-Bukamal is locating less than 30km from the town of al-Qaim, the stronghold of the Popular Mobilization Forces on the Iraqi side of the border.

Pro-Israeli sources claim that the increasing Russian presence in southern Deir Ezzor and along the border with Iraq may be a sign of a nearing Iranian withdrawal from the region. At the same time, there are no indications that Iranian-backed forces are going to withdraw from al-Bukamal anytime soon.

The presence of the Russians on the Iraqi-Syrian border is not something new. Russian forces played an important role in the anti-ISIS operations in the province, including the liberation of Deir Ezzor, al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal itself. In fact, the increasing Russian involvement is likely linked with the ongoing anti-ISIS operations in the central Syrian desert.

Just recently, the ISIS propaganda wing, Amaq, claimed that ISIS militants repelled a large attack of the Syrian Army on its hideouts in the eastern part of Hama province. 3 soldiers were allegedly killed, 10 others were inured and a vehicle was destroyed. Pro-militant sources also confirmed the increase of Russian airstrikes on terrorist targets in the region.

The remaining ISIS threat in the central part of the country also has a negative impact on the situation in the south. Negative processes have been taking place in Quneitra and Daraa provinces, which remain under the permanent destructive influence of Israel and its special services.

Recently, Israeli media and think tanks have started promoting the idea of the Israeli intervention into the ‘unstable’ Syrian south under the pretext of restoring ‘peace and prosperity’ in this region. Therefore, it is possible to expect the resumption of active Israeli military and clandestine operations to undermine the Syrian statehood in this particular region.

Netanyahu Forces Set Fire in the Liberated Area of the Golan

August 31, 2020 Arabi Souri

Netanyahu IDF Terrorists Set fire in the Golan

Netanyahu forces set fire today at dawn on the barbed wire fence east of the occupied town of Majdal Shams, the Golan, in the northern Quneitra countryside, which led to the explosion of a landmine.

The fire, which was set by the Israeli occupation soldiers, spread to the east of the barbed wire fence in the liberated lands, opposite Majdal Shams, and affected agricultural and pastoral lands in the northern countryside of Quneitra, which led to the explosion of a landmine, as per the Syrian news agency SANA.

The Quneitra and Al-Haraj firefighters went to the area to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading to the lands and surrounding woods in the area, SANA added in its report.

Israelis are living tense times these days since Netanyahu killed a soldier of Hezb Allah near Damascus on the 20th of July, last month in a bombing by fighter jets gifted to Israel by the US taxpayers.

Hezb Allah set a rule of deterrence that stipulates for each of the attacks against any of its facilities a counter-attack against an Israeli IDF terrorists’ facility will be carried out, each of its soldiers killed by an Israeli attack, an Israeli IDF terrorist will be killed in a counter-attack. This deterrence rules have spared Lebanon and much of Syria series of Israeli bombing and aggression since its last major aggression in 2006 which failed miserably and sent shockwaves throughout the foreign imported radical Zionist settlers on stolen Palestinian land.

Without a reminder of the rules of deterrence this time, Netanyahu forces fled the border sites and went on high alert since the July bombing anticipating Hezb Allah’s retaliation. Netanyahu tried to offer a number of targets for the Hezb soldiers to blow up for media stunts and call it even, the Lebanese resistance party insists on applying the Torah ruling: An eye for an eye.

The latest of such Netanyahu’s desperate stunts was sending a humanoid, a remotely controlled robot in the shape of an IDF terrorist in uniform, to the borderline with south Lebanon to fool Hezb soldiers, who instead shared a video showing the plot and humiliating the already embattled Netanyahu.

The fires in the Golan are part of the Israeli panic who are now fearing their shadows on the lands they stole, no matter what assurances they get from the Trump regime.

Syrian Air Defenses Intercept Missiles Fired by Israeli Warplanes: Video

Israel announces new attack against Syrian Army as border situation deteriorates

By News Desk -2020-08-03

BEIRUT, LEBANON (11:40 P.M.) – The Israeli Army announced this evening that its fighters launched an attack against military targets in Syria, describing the airstrikes as a response to an operation on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Israeli Army to Reuters, among the targets included in the strikes were Syrian observation sites, intelligence-gathering systems, anti-aircraft batteries and command bases.

The IDF spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said in a tweet that the attacks came in response to the operation to plant improvised explosive devices that had been foiled yesterday in the southern part of the occupied Golan Heights.

He added: “The IDF considers the Syrian regime responsible for any operation that originates from its territory, and will continue to act with determination against any action that violates the sovereignty of the State of Israel.”

The source would add that their air defenses managed to intercept the enemy missiles; however, a military source told Al-Masdar that some of the Israeli projectiles did in fact hit the Al-Quneitra Governorate, at the strategic hilltop of Tal Al-Ahmar

On anniversary of the liberation of Quneitra , the return of the occupied Syrian Golan inevitable

Source

By Rawaa  Ghanam

 Friday, 26 June 2020 18:29

The 26th of June , 1974 marks a day of pride for Syrians across country for in that day the Israeli occupation of the southern city of Quneitra was brought to an end..

Forty-six years have passed since the anniversary of the liberation of Quneitra from the Israeli occupation and  raising of the national flag in the city ,  the Syrians confirm their insistence more than ever to continue their struggle till  the liberation of the occupied Syrian  Golan and every  inch of Syrian land, whether from terrorism or the occupational forces which support it.

The day of victory over the Zionist enemy and the restoration of Quneitra to the bosom of the homeland on  June  26th 1974 is the day on which that late president  Hafez al-Assad, raised the nation’s flag in the sky of the liberated city after it had been liberated by the Syrian Arab Army from the Israeli enemy thanks to the heroism and sacrifices of the army personnel and the resilience of the Syrian people during the October Liberation War.This victory proved a basic fact – Syria’s inalienable and legitimate right to fully restore the occupied Syrian  Golan.

In spite of the policies of Judaization and repression practiced by the occupation authorities during their  brutal Zionist aggression on  Quneitra  and the aggressive destruction of the city in order to erase the national identity of  the Golan,  yet  the Golan challenged these policies and remained steadfast in the face of the occupation.

Citizens of the Golan  affirm strongly their adherence  to their homeland Syria and  reject  the “Israeli identity”, expressing determination  to liberate  the Golan and return  to the homeland.

The Syrians in general and the Syrian citizens of  Quneitra governorate and  in the occupied Syrian  Golan in particular  recall  proudly June 26th moments of victory over the Zionist enemy and the liberation of Quneitra city  , while  they are more confident of  their ability to confront the colonial and terrorist conspiracies  against Syria to undermine its  firm resistant stances in the region.

The released Syrian captive Sidqi Al-Maqt confirmed to  SANA correspondent in Quneitra   the continuation  of resistance and struggle against the Israeli occupation till the liberation of the entire occupied Syrian  Golan and  the rejection of  all arbitrary measures practiced by the occupation authorities aimed at Judaizing the Golan.

Al-Maqt expressed his confidence in the liberation of the occupied Syrian Golan  thanks to  the Syrian Arab Army .He was sure that the national flag will once again fly in its skies.

He  stressed  that the anniversary  of raising of  the national flag in the  city of Quneitra will increase the Syrians determination to continue the struggle to restore the entire occupied  Syrian Golan.

With the commemoration of the liberation of Quneitra from the Zionist occupation, the Syrians confirm day after day that the return of the Golan is a non-negotiable matter , and  that land is the subject of dignity above all and that the steadfastness of Syrian  people and their rejection of the Zionist measures are the best evidence of the inability of the occupation to undermine the will of the resistance and steadfastness  against  the usurper and that the will of the peoples is invincible.
