Egypt Church Fire: 18 Children Among 41 People Killed

August 15, 2022

By Staff, Agencies

At least 18 children lost their lives in a fire that killed dozens of worshippers gathered for Sunday morning mass at a church in Giza, greater Cairo.

The toll stands at 41 dead and 14 injured, Egypt’s Coptic Church said in a statement, citing health officials. Hospital documents obtained by CNN show the children were ages 3 to 16.

The fire started at about 9 am local time due to an electrical failure in an air conditioning unit on the church’s second floor, Egypt’s Interior Ministry said. The small church is located in the highly populated Imbaba neighborhood.

Most of the deaths and injuries were caused by smoke inside church classrooms after the electrical failure, the ministry said in a Facebook post.

At least two officers and three civil protection service members were injured responding to the fire, the ministry said.

Church officials also believe the fire was accidental, said Coptic Church spokesperson Archpriest Moussa Ibrahim, adding a priest was among those killed.

Egypt’s Coptic community and churches have been a target of religious-based violence and attacks historically, with persecution and discrimination spiking since the toppling of Hosni Mubarak’s regime in 2011.

Copts are the largest Christian community in the Middle East, making up at least 10 million of Egypt’s 103 million people.

Egypt has suffered several deadly fires in recent years.

Have the Christians of the East become an outlet for wreaking one’s anger?

Written by Nasser Kandil,

The continuoushttp://www.al-binaa.com/archives/article/have-the-christians-of-the-east-become-an-outlet-for-wreaking-ones-anger bleeding of the Egyptian Copts as a free inbox for which the terrorist groups supported by Turkey and Qatar, and which are divided between Muslim Brotherhood and ISIS resort coincides with a harsh repulsive campaign launched by Saudi newspapers Okaz against the Lebanese President Michael Aoun and the Foreign Minister Gibran Bassil through harmful improper words and disgraceful descriptions on the basis of polite decent words and a compromised behavior for which the President and the Minister resorted to prevent the collision with Saudi Arabia. The President accepted to overlook the violation of the assets of communication between countries through sending an invitation to the Prime Minister to attend Riyadh summit, so the President and the Minister agreed upon a ceiling for the objection of the summit statement that does not bother Saudi Arabia or affect its prestige.

For a moment it seemed that the Christians of the East have been turned into a source for revenge for the countries that sponsor the formations that perfect the murder and the kill on all over the world, so to know their criminal record it is enough to hear what they say against each other on the front of their major newspapers and at their giant satellite channels which are dedicated these days to show the mutual terrorist accusation. It is enough to recall what the US President said about them in his electoral campaign while they celebrated his coming. These countries would not dare to assault those whom they considered under the Western protection without a green light from the West, or the feeling of the removal of the red line which was drawn to protect that presence. These sponsoring countries of terrorism are living under the Western protection and working in conformity with the US agenda and orders.

Tampering with the blood of the Christians of Egypt to send a message to its President, and to be insolent against the president of Lebanon to show him resentment are two new phenomena. At the highest clash with the President Emile Lahhoud the Saudi press reserved from saying a similar statement to what was said against the President Michael Aoun, and at the highest clash with the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak the Qataris, the Saudis, and the Turkish were fear to adopt and to protect armed groups that play with the blood of the Egyptians, the considerations by everyone towards the presidency in Lebanon and the Copts in Egypt were well considered according to the position which the Christians of the East, whom have the population as the Copts of Egypt, and whom have the political position as the Lebanese President have in the West.

There is a qualitative transition that surpasses the adoption of narrow sectarian equations; this transition finds it easy to resort to a boxing bag presented by the Christians of the East. The rehabilitation cannot be neither with wisdom nor with the accounts of the narrow electoral interests, nor with the soft administration of politics, because there is a scream that must be responded by Stop, tell your group that this playing does not work with us, this harm must not pass without expense. The Christians of the East do not sell their dignity and their moral presence by promises of tourist season to Egypt or to Lebanon. it is a speech that may be useful for the Lebanese President to say from the rostrum of the Coptic Church in urgent personal historic condolences of the victims of the massacres to reach to those who ordered of killing in Al Minya in the desert road, and those who ordered to write cheap articles with cheaper pens, or that who ordered from beyond the oceans, the racist who has sold his silence with a bag of money and gold.

Palm Sunday Attacks Against Christians–What are the Ramifications?

At least 44 people have been killed and scores of others injured in bombings carried out at two Coptic Christian churches in Egypt. ISIS has claimed responsibility for both attacks, while the US government, which essentially has served as ISIS’s air force in Syria, has somewhat hypocritically condemned them.

The first attack occurred in Tanta, a city located in the Nile Delta between Cairo and Alexandria. The bomb went off at the St. George Church, where worshipers had gathered for Palm Sunday services. At least 27 people were killed and 78 wounded.

A few hours later, a second bomb exploded–at the St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria. Here at least 17 were killed and some 48 wounded.

“So sad to hear of the terrorist attack in Egypt. U.S. strongly condemns. I have great…confidence that President Al Sisi will handle situation properly,” said President Trump.

Mark Toner, the State Department’s acting spokesperson, called the bombings “barbaric attacks on Christian places of worship,” and assured reporters that “the United States will continue to support Egypt’s security and stability in its efforts to defeat terrorism.”

But US efforts to overthrow the President Bashar Assad in Syria would suggest that the US government has little concern about protecting Christians in the Middle East. The church bombings come just three days after the US launched Tomahawk missiles at a Syrian airbase in Homs province in western Syria, and this wasn’t even the first attack carried out by US forces against those defending their homeland from terrorist invasion.

On September 17 last year, US coalition aircraft struck a Syrian airbase in Deir ez-Zor province in the eastern part of the country, killing at least 62 Syrian troops. The Obama administration claimed the attack had been an “accident,” but Assad said it was intentional and had lasted for an hour.

Perhaps hardly surprising, then, that Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, commenting on the attack, spoke of the “terrifying conclusion” which the world must draw from it:

“If previously we had suspicions that Al-Nusra Front is protected this way, now, after today’s airstrikes on the Syrian army we come to a really terrifying conclusion for the entire world: The White House is defending IS,” Zakharova said.

And that was back in September.

So let’s see…that’s two US attacks on two Syrian airbases in less than seven months. And in both cases Islamic State militants, almost as if they had been tipped off in advance, launched offensives immediately afterwards.

All this to overthrow a man who heads up a secular government that has protected Christians.

 photo attackegypt_zps94ehuacj.jpg

“After the explosion, everything became dark from the smoke,” said one witness of the attack in Tanta.

“Deacons were the first to run out of the church. Many of them had blood on their white robes,” said another.

In claiming responsibility for the attack, ISIS stated: “The Crusaders and their tails from the apostates must be aware that the bill between us and them is very large and they will be paying it like a river of blood from their sons, if God willing.”

One analyst, in comments to RT, expressed suspicion at the timing of the attacks.

“I talked to some people [after the attacks], and they were all criticizing the terrorists and were wondering why this happened at this time: when tourism in Egypt is improving, when the country is stabilizing, there is international support of Sisi’s regime. So, whoever is doing this [the bombings] is standing behind terrorism. It’s simple to say that they are terrorists, but who is behind the terrorists? This is the issue.”

One who seems to be under no illusion on that score is Archbishop Atallah Hanna, of the Greek Orthodox church of Jerusalem.

“These misguided American policies in the Middle East are a major reason behind the mass exodus of Christians from the region that has occurred over the years,” said Hanna.

“Who created the terrorist groups and who is providing them with money and arms? Who has been destroying Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Libya? Who caused the displacement of the Palestinian people? All catastrophes that Palestinians have suffered and are still suffering from were abetted by American and Western governments,” he added.

Unlike the Christians of Egypt, those in Syria seem to have had a peaceful Palm Sunday.

Syrian Christians celebrate all across .

This is possible thanks to the Syrian gov’t, which the US wants to overthrow.

If the Assad government falls, it will, needless to say, be a disaster for Christians in Syria. But there are indications this is precisely the objective the US now intends to pursue.

The Washington Post on Sunday posted a pro-war propaganda piece informing readers the Trump administration has “demanded” that Russia drop its support for Assad. Not requested politely. But demanded.

The story quotes a top national security advisor, Army Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, who strongly implies that Russia had advanced knowledge of the alleged chemical attack, while Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and UN Ambassador Nikki Haley are also quoted.

“I think what we should do is ask Russia, how could it be, if you have advisers at that airfield, that you didn’t know that the Syrian air force was preparing and executing a mass murder attack with chemical weapons,” McMaster said.

Is Nikki Haley going to hold up pictures of dead Coptic Christians and demand action? I doubt it.

“In no way do we see peace in that area with Russia covering up for Assad,” said Haley. “And in no way do we see peace in that area with Assad at the head of the Syrian government.”

Meanwhile, South Front is reporting that the US is now deploying forces at the Syrian-Jordanian border, and that a Navy ship loaded with US military vehicles has also docked at the Jordanian port of Al-Aqapa.

Political Islam Considers Arabism Its Enemy

تجربة حكم الإخوان فاشلة قبل أن تبدأ .. وما يحصل في مصر هو سقوط لما يسمى الإسلام السياسي

By: Talal Salman Translated from As-Safir (Lebanon).

اقرا المقال الأصلي باللغة العربية

Political Islam has waited a very long time for its chance to reach power and implement its project: turning its dream of an “Islamic state,” or the caliphate, into a reality. The caliphate has been dead for a long time. It was abolished by the Ottomans, who ruled under its name for four centuries, only to revert to being secular Turks.

Political Islam got a boost from the Arab revolutions, in which it played a minor role. Then, out of necessity, it sided with the interim governments, which succeeded the old tyrannical regimes after they quickly fell. Those regimes collapsed with their leaders either fleeing the country (in Tunisia’s case) or opposing the winds of change to the death, such as former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi. Gadhafi acted arrogantly until the last minute, refusing to recognize the people and their revolution. He was captured and killed in a way so gruesome that it was more of an insult than a victory to the Libyan rebels, especially since there’s evidence that foreign forces (especially the French) were the ones who prevented Gadhafi from fleeing and handed him over to an angry crowd, which then killed him.

And now, political Islam is destroying the communities that once accepted it. Those communities assumed that political Islam had learned its lesson from its long sojourn in the opposition. But political Islam proved that it was unworthy of the people’s confidence. Many people once enthusiastically voted for the Muslim Brotherhood and put them in power in the hope that they would bring about an era of friendship, equality, justice and prosperity.

In Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Iraq, all the Islamic movements want is to reach power. The means to reach power depends on the circumstances, and the circumstances often allow them to use “democracy” to reach power.

If the Islamists fail in their democratic practice or face significant opposition, they resort to religious edicts for jihad, even though they are not in the land of jihad nor in the land of nusra, which is a doctrine requiring Muslims to support their co-religionists in other countries.

The Muslim Brotherhood lost Egypt because of their haste. They monopolized everything and excluded others, including those who played decisive roles in the revolution. During the revolution, the Brotherhood negotiated with the regime and postponed its downfall to seize power. They sought to be alone in power to revive Islam and abrogate the historical treaty made by the Arab messenger with the Christians, and even the Jews in Medina, after he emigrated there to escape persecution.

The Islamists of the 21st century refused to recognize those who joined Islam before them, Muslims who are not Brotherhood members, citizens of other religions and followers of other Islamic sects who do not adhere to Brotherhood ideology, which believes in the caliphate and the absolute authority of a “just” ruler.

Of course, the Islamists considered nationalism and Arabism heresy. They considered communism to be atheism and a departure from Islam, and thus punishable by death.

Instead of preaching their beliefs, as other Muslims have done, those Islamists, whose actions and funding are secret, have called others apostates. They also called the Christians apostates and attacked and destroyed their churches.

This type of political Islam has ended the enmity toward Israel, with its leaders leading a campaign of subterfuge. They acted friendly toward Israel and showed willingness to cooperate with it politically and economically. This type of political Islam didn’t confront Israel on the political and economic issues that have caused Egypt flagrant harm. Israel “humiliated” and challenged the rule in Cairo. The latter responded meekly, declining to protest or respond.

This type of political Islam, specifically the Muslim Brotherhood, absolved the United States of “imperialism” and of seeking to dominate the region’s people and control their natural resources. Instead, this political Islam sought to ally with the United States and even supported its policies.

Political Islam treated “Arabism” as its first and last enemy, thus taking the same side as the forces of foreign domination, like the United States and the foreign forces that occupy Arab land, specifically Israel, which militarily occupies Palestine and part of Egypt (Sinai) by preventing the Egyptian army from exercising its sovereign rights over its land. Israel also occupies, politically and economically, Jordan, and it still occupies Syrian territory, the Golan Heights, which Israel annexed. Moreover, Lebanon would still be threatened with occupation were it not for the resistance which liberated the land from the occupier. Were it not for the resistance, all of Lebanon would be hostage to Israel, which always seeks superiority to the entire Arab nation.

Political Islam acted as if its first enemy in all Arab lands were nationalism and its second enemy Arabism, whether when directly applied or in its intellectual-political manifestation: Arab nationalism.

Morsi Clinton

By this logic, political Islam finds itself in a political alliance with the United States and even the (colonial) West in general, and allied with the Zionist entity by necessity. It behaves as if it is, together with all these forces, in an open war with the idea of Arabism as a universal identity for the people of the ummah or nation.

Political Islam intersects with the entities that want to tear apart the national affiliation of the people of the one ummah. Political Islam threatens the religious and national minorities, which in turn threatens the unity of the ummah.

Egypt was a revealing model. The Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood provoked Muslims by accusing them of apostasy for not being Brotherhood loyalists and for not accepting the Brotherhood’s absolute dominance. The Brotherhood also created an enemy of Christians, the original Egyptians, for no reason. The Brotherhood did not hesitate to provoke Shiites by denying their Muslim identity and accusing them of apostasy.

The Brotherhood missed a chance to be one the ummah’s political elites. They lost the state without helping Islam. They behaved like separatists, monopolists and dictators. It was as if they came from another world. They were bound to lose.

Their greatest accomplishment is that they lost at breakneck speed. And for that, we must thank them.

Al-Zawahri calls on Muslims to kidnap Westerners

Ayman Alzawahri Kidnapping

Published Saturday, October 27, 2012

Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri has called on Muslims to kidnap Westerners, join Syria’s rebellion and to ensure Egypt implements sharia, SITE Monitoring reported on Saturday, citing a two-part film posted on Islamist websites.
The Egypt-born cleric, who became al Qaeda leader last year after the purported death of Osama bin Laden, spoke in a message that lasted more than two hours.
“We are seeking, by the help of Allah, to capture others and to incite Muslims to capture the citizens of the countries that are fighting Muslims in order to release our captives,” he said, praising the kidnapping of Warren Weinstein, a 71-year-old American aid worker in Pakistan last year.
Zawahri’s message was first released on Wednesday, SITE said, just two weeks after the cleric issued a filmed statement calling for more protests against the United States over a California-made film mocking the Prophet Mohammad.
In his new message, he called on Muslims to ensure Egypt’s revolution continued until sharia law was implemented and urged fellow Muslims to join the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad in Syria.
The release of his message had been delayed, he said, because of the “conditions of the fierce war” in Afghanistan and Pakistan where he said US-led forces had intensified a bombing campaign.
US President Barack Obama, whom Zawahri described as a “liar” and “one of the biggest supporters of Israel”, has stepped up the use of unmanned drones to target militants in both countries as well as in Yemen.
In a further attack on Western governments and international institutions, Zawahri accused world powers of giving Syrian President Assad “a license to kill” his opponents.
“The UN, [former international negotiator on Syria] Kofi Annan and the Arab League give the al-Assad regime one opportunity after another to end the rising of jihadi, popular resistance against his oppression, injustice, corruption and spoiling,” SITE reported Zawahri as saying.
Syria’s anti-government rebels include Islamist groups that draw on foreign fighters.

“I incite Muslims everywhere, especially in the countries that are contiguous to Syria, to rise up to support their brothers in Syria with all what they can and not to spare anything that they can offer,” he said.

Zawahri, who led the Egyptian Islamic Jihad movement before joining al Qaeda, called on President Mohamed Mursi, the country’s new Islamist leader, to explain his policies on Israel, Egyptian Christians and sharia law.
Islamist militants want Egypt to introduce sharia and to tear up a 1979 peace treaty with Israel and were dismayed when Mursi said he would appoint a Coptic Christian vice president.

“The battle in Egypt is very clear. It is a battle between the secular minority that is allied with the church and that is leaning on the support of the army, who are made up by (former President Hosni) Mubarak and the Americans … and the Muslim ummah (nation) in Egypt that is seeking to implement sharia,” he said.

Anti-Islam film: the Coptic Brotherhood

“I like to call this new generation of Egypt’s Christians ‘the Coptic Brotherhood’ … for they adopt the same policy & tactics of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

The Coptic community’s fears of discrimination grow as the Islamists rise to power in the wake of the 2011 uprising in Egypt.

There is a worldwide consensus that the now-notorious video clips of the anti-Islam film “innocence of Muslims” are extremely offensive, provocative and clumsily amateurish but at the same time there is almost a similar consensus that doesn’t consider the violent and demagogic Muslim reaction any less offensive and provocative.

And putting in mind that the writer and director of the film is an Egyptian Copt by the name of Nakoula Basseley, at least that’s what we have been told so far, still this 14- minute trailer poses some serious questions.

Let’s assume that this Nakoula has nothing to do with any secret lobbies or agencies and that he and some of the fanatic Copts in the US are behind this so called film. Let’s overlook the weird timing, September 11, of posting the Arabic-dubbed version of the trailer on YouTube and let’s ignore the strange involvement of the infamous terry jones in the issue.

Let’s pass over the deliberate mocking and degradation and try to bring out the core ideas the script of this film was based upon.
In other words, let’s see what kind of ideology/belief, if any, this film is grounded in.

Who is Nakoula Basseley

But before we get to that, let’s see what we’ve got on the maker of this offensive film. Who is exactly this Nakoula Basseley?

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula is a 55 years old, Egyptian Christian (Copt), and yes in Egypt people are unfortunately branded/ presented by their religion.

Nothing in this man’s life is extraordinary; he is an average Copt, and in his early twenties he decided to do what most Coptic teenagers dream of, that is to move out of Egypt and migrate to western countries that still grant citizenship for Christian minorities in the Middle East, namely USA and Australia.

What is really ironic is that most of the Egyptian Copts who apply for immigration visas to the US or Australia, personally, have no history of religious persecution/discrimination whatsoever. And they apply for immigration as if they apply for a new job.

For most Egyptian Copts, the embassy interview, be it American, Canadian or Australian, is the closest thing to a new career interview, only they apply for it disguised under the cloak of religious persecution.

And I’m not saying that there is no sectarian strife, nor there any Coptic victims of the religious discrimination in Egypt. But the actual victims are usually the very poor/helpless who live in the rural suburbs or even urban slums, and they are not the kind who would ever think of leaving the country of their birthplace or entertain the mere notion of visiting the American/Australian embassy and apply for asylum.

Read the latest incident of Coptic persecution in ‘Rafah’, the Sinai town at the border with Israel, which the Jihadist Salafists declared an Islamist emirate.

Lighting a candle in their small town church and asking for god’s help is the hopeless’ only thinkable refuge. But applying for a US immigrant visa is the game that only shrewd middle-class Copts could play.

So there he was, Mr. Nakoula, a newly Coptic immigrant to the US, who conned his way out of Egypt and the minute he arrived in the states he embarked on a series of fraud and criminalities; from a fixed marriage, possessing drugs used to make methamphetamine, bank fraud and demands for unpaid tax bills, and lately this so called ‘Innocence of Muslims’ film.

He was even convicted and jailed for 21 months and got out on probation for credit card fraud.
What I’m trying to explain here is that this Nakoula guy is not a persecuted Coptic, he’s been freely going in and out of Egypt over the last two decades though he has been convicted in a couple of lawsuits in his native country.

Mr. Nakoula is not a thinker, and he knows nothing about cinema or filmmaking, as a matter of fact the only thing he could think about is how to make easy and often dirty money. And it goes without saying that a man who goes about in his life by fraud is no religious man.

So why a fraudster such as Mr. Nakoula would be interested in mocking the religious history of Islam and its prophet. And why would a bankrupt like him bother with producing this disparaging film out of his own pocket, when all of his life he has been robbing other people’s money. It doesn’t make sense … does it?

My point is that the ideas and the money behind this film are definitely not Mr. Nakoula’s, otherwise he would have stood for his point of view before the whole world when he had the chance. Instead he went into hiding, and when brought for questioning at the police station he wrapped a shawl around his face as if he wanted to go invisible.

Joseph Nasrallah

During his interrogation, Nakoula stressed that he was not the writer of the film and that he was only responsible for management and logistics.

As for the money, it was found that ‘Media for Christ’ was listed as the production company for the film and its headquarters was where most of the movie was made. Its president is Joseph Nasrallah, another fanatic of the Coptic diaspora and an outspoken critic of Muslims and the owner of a Coptic satellite TV channel called ‘The Way’

Watch Video of Nasrallah’s speech at a 9/11 rally against Ground Zero Mosque
Besides Nasrallah, the meager production- the whole anti-Islam film was shot in Chroma key- depended mainly on donations from fanatic Copts inside and outside Egypt.

The anti-Islam film based on the teachings of a Coptic priest in exile

Exiled Coptic Priest, Zakaria Botros

Actually raising money was not much of a problem as long as the donors were assured that the film would actualize the teachings of the infamous Zakaria Botros, a Coptic priest- barred from the Egyptian Coptic church – who made a career out of disparaging Islam and his prophet.
Botros was exiled from Egypt in the early 1990s shortly after his release from prison for trying to convert Muslims to Christianity.

Botros is also quoted in an article as telling the Arabic satellite TV station ‘Alfady’, “The movie is all things we said in the past.

Botros became widely known in 2003 after he appeared on talk shows on ‘the Hayah’ Evangelical Channel. He went on to have his own show on the channel. His criticism of Islam could be summed up in one phrase ‘Islam is a hoax’

In his videos, Botros elaborates on how the biggest chunk of the Koran is but a funny mix of excerpts and stories from the old and the new testament, and the rest is merely demonic verses revealed to Mohamed by the Satan himself.

Watch one of the videos of the exiled Coptic priest, Zakaria Botros

Botros, after investigating, with his logical methodology, the life and historical background of the prophet Muhammed, he concluded that Muhammed is a big impostor, a womanizer, a child molester and a terrorist who spread his influence by the might of the sword.

Very interesting findings indeed, but I only wish this Botros could work the same logical methodology on the historicity of the Old and New Testament. It would be fun to watch him forsake his clerical clothing when he reaches equally startling conclusions.

Zakaria Botros, has been named “Islam’s public enemy No. 1” and Al-Qaeda has put a $60 million bounty on his head.

What were the financers of this pathetic film expecting? What was their goal? If they expected hordes of Muslims to convert after watching the trailer, then they must be as naïve as a kindergarten kid.

One of the most despicable responses to the ‘Muhammed film’, and quite unprecedented in Egypt, was the threat by an obscure Salafist, currently being prosecuted, to burn a copy of the Bible.
Mocking any faith will only prompt its followers to go on the defensive and will push its extremists to do all sorts of crazy things including, in the case of Muslim extremists, taking up arms against whom they envision as their foe.

Muslim Brotherhood vs. Coptic Brotherhood

I personally think, and after discussing the matter with many of my Coptic friends, that those who financed and made this lame video did it out of deeply seated grudge against Muslims and Islam.
Being a Christian in Egypt or any country with a Muslim majority is not an easy life. Muslims get fanatically outraged by any gesture that would dare come near their scripture or prophet- tribalism’s influence- whereas other minorities of other faiths, be it Christians or Jews or even Shiites, have to bite the bullet and endure through an endless rhetoric and practices that demean their beliefs and discriminate against them.

Recently, and with the rise of the Islamic fundamentalism after the so called Arab spring, the Christians in Egypt are publicly referred to in the sermons of Salafist clerics, as infidels.
But as Egypt harbors some of the ultra-conservative Muslims, aka Salafists, its Copts are the followers of the most conservative Orthodox Church in the world.

Egypt Coptic church still believe in demons, and exorcism, and doesn’t authorize divorce. Copts believe that the popes of their Church are saints who are undoubtedly capable of performing miracles and that some of the church’s priests are endowed with the heavenly gift of curing the irredeemable ailments.

But above all, the fundamentalist sect of the Coptic Church implicitly denies any revelation or Holy Scripture to have descended from heaven after the crucifixion of the lord Jesus. So, likewise, but only tacitly most of the fundamentalist Copts view the Muslims as infidels.

Some of the ultra-conservative Muslims truly believe that attacking the churches of the Christians and discriminating against them is a genuine Islamic conduct approved by the sharia law and some of the scripture verses (Koran 98:6)

The ultra-orthodox Coptic teachings interpret any adversity, including the attacks on the churches, the killing and branding them as infidels, as a test of faith, and no matter how horrible the hardships they will face, it is bound to be nothing compared to the sufferings of the Jesus on the cross.

So, what we have here is a growing tide of fundamentalism of extremely dogmatic Muslims and Christians. What we have here could be the final days of the civil society that once valued tolerance and religious diversity, which Egypt has come to know and enjoy throughout the 19th and most of he 20th century– let’s hope not.

And while we are witnessing the rise of Salafists & the Muslim brotherhood to power, especially after the Arab uprisings, in countries like Tunisia, Libya, Morocco, Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Gaza, Iraq and very soon Syria ..

Likewise, and in response, there is an evolving trend amongst the biggest Christian minority in the Middle East, namely Egypt’s Copts, to abandon the submission of the older generations of the Coptic Orthodox Church and to engage in politics and may be resort to violence if necessary.

I like to call this new generation of Egypt’s Christians ‘the Coptic Brotherhood’ … for they adopt the same policy & tactics of the Muslim brotherhood that depends on the underground organization, raising money from the members’ donations and lobbying outside the borders of Egypt, and most of all they long for a Coptic state, as the MB for a Muslim caliphate – within the borders of Egypt . It could be southern Egypt for all they care, like what happened in Sudan.

But how could they do that? How could their separatist plan succeed when they are the weak and armless minority? … Well, it could only work out if they dragged a super power into the conflict.
It is well known that some of the western governments have been monitoring the Copts’ file in Egypt for decades now, but the paradigm shift only happened with the latest series of attacks on the US embassies in most of the Arab and Muslim countries especially Benghazi and Cairo in the aftermath of the ‘Mohammed film’

“Egypt is not a US ally anymore” said Mr. Obama in a TV interview, commenting on the storming of the American embassy in Cairo. And he warned of problems if Egypt did not protect the US embassy and staff.

And if that was the only outcome of the anti-Islam film then maybe the producers and its maker are not so naïve after all. And if the making of this film has not yet proved any collaboration with the Israeli lobby in the US, I certainly believe their next project will, for the partition of Egypt might be a dream for some of the fanatic Copts, inside Egypt and in the diaspora, but it is undoubtedly the Mossad’s ultimate goal.

Blasphemy as a tactic

Thierry MeyssanThe dissemination of a video clip from the film “The Innocence of Muslims,” depicting an offensive image of Islam, has sparked a wave of anger in the Arab world. For Thierry Meyssan, things are more complex than they might seem because the clip was first released in Arabic on YouTube and broadcast by the Salafist Egyptian Al Nasr TV channel. The film targets neither the U.S. nor the Muslim public, but only the Arab world. Its distribution was organized by the same people who also called for its prohibition. What lies behind this provocation?
The circulation on the Internet of the trailer for a film, The Innocence of Muslims, sparked demonstrations across the world and resulted in the killing in Benghazi of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya and members of his entourage.
JPEG - 15.8 kbAt first glance, these events can be located in the long line leading from Salman Rushdie’s Satanic Verses to the burnings of the Koran by Pastor Terry Jones. Nevertheless, this new attack differs from other incidents in that the film was not directed at a Western audience but instead was uniquely conceived as an instrument of provocation directed at Muslims.

In political terms, the affair can be analyzed from two angles: from the tactical perspective as an anti-U.S. manipulation; or from a strategic one, as an anti-Muslim psychological attack.

The film was produced by a Zionist group composed of Jews of double Israeli-American nationality and by an Egyptian Copt. It was completed several months ago but was released at a calculated moment to provoke riots targeting the United States. Israeli agents were deployed in several large cities with a mission to channel the rage of the crowd against American or Coptic targets (though not Israeli ones). Not suprisingly, their maximum effect was attained in Benghazi, the capital of Libya’s Cyrenaica region.

The population of Benghazi is known to harbor particularly reactionary and racist groups. It is useful to recall that at the time the cartoons of Mohammed appeared in September, 2005, Salafists attacked the Danish Consulate. In keeping with the Vienna Convention on diplomacy, the Libyan government of Muammar al-Gaddafi deployed troops to protect the diplomatic service then under attack. The repression of the riot resulted in numerous deaths. Subsequently, the West, seeking to overthrow the Libyan regime, financed Salafist publications which accused Gaddafi of protecting the Danish Consulate because he had allegedly been behind the cartoon operation.

On February 15, 2011, Salafists organized in Benghazi a demonstration commemorating the massacre during which shooting erupted, an incident that marked the beginning of the Benghazi insurrection that opened the way to the NATO intervention. The Libyan police arrested three members of the Italian Special Forces who confessed to having fired from the rooftops on both demonstrators and the police to sew chaos and confusion. Held prisoner throughout the war that followed, they were released when NATO seized the capital and smuggled them out of the country to Malta in a small fishing boat on which I was also a passenger.

This time, the manipulation of the Benghazi crowd by Israeli agents had as its goal the assassination of the U.S. Ambassador, an act of war not seen since the Israeli bombardment of the USS Liberty by the Israeli Air Force and Navy in 1967. This constitutes the first assassination of an ambassador in the line of duty since 1979. The act is all the more grevious considering that in a country where the current central government is a purely legal fiction, the U.S. Ambassador was not merely a diplomat but was functioning as Governor, as the de facto head of state.

It should be emphasized that in the past few weeks, the highest-ranking U.S. military officers have entered into open conflict with the Israeli government. They have issued declarations signifying their intention to halt the cycle of wars begun after September 11 (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria) and which, in light of the informal agreements of 2001, will expand further (Sudan, Somalia and Iran). The first warning shot occurred in Afghanistan, in August 2012, when two missiles were fired at the parked plane of General Martin Dempsey, head of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff. This second warning turned out to be even more brutal.

If, on the other hand, we examine this affair from the viewpoint of social psychology, the release of the film and its aftermath appear to be a frontal attack on the beliefs of Muslims. In this regard, it is similar in nature to the Pussy Riot episode trampling on the freedom of religious practice inside the Orthodox Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow and the mulitple performances of conceptual pornography the group engaged in afterwards. These are operations geared to violate societies that resist the project of global domination.

In democratic and multicultural societies, the sacred is seen as belonging to and being expressed within the private sphere. But a new collective space of the sacred has been in the process of elaboration. Western European states have passed “historical memory” laws which have transformed a historical event—the Nazi destruction of European Jews—into a religious occurrence: the “Shoa” in Jewish terminology, or the “Holocaust” as expressed in Christian evangelical parlance. Nazi crimes are thereby elevated to the level of a unique event at the expense of the victims of other massacres, including other victims of the Nazis. Questioning the dogma, i.e. this religious interpretation of historical facts, subjects one to criminal penalties, just as blasphemy was punished in the past.

Similarly, in 2001, the U.S., the European Union member states and a number of their allies imposed by decree that entire national populations must observe a minute of silence in memory of the victims of the September 11 attacks. This ruling was underpinned by an ideological interpretation of the causes of the massacre. In both cases, having been killed because one was Jewish or because one was American confers a particular status on these victims before whom the rest of humanity must genuflect.

During the Olympic Games in London, both the Israeli and the American delegations attempted to enlarge their sacred space still further by imposing a minute of silence during the opening ceremony of the most-watched televised event in the world, this time on behalf of the hostages seized during the Munich Games of 1972. In the end, the proposal was rejected, with the Olympic Committee holding instead a separate ceremony. This is just a further indication of the effort to create a collective liturgy legitimating the global empire.

The Innocence of Muslims serves both as a device to bring Washington back into line at a moment when it may be stepping back from the Zionist agenda and as a means to further advance it by attacking the religious beliefs of still others who may resist it.

Sayyed Nasrallah Urges Muslim Nation to Protest over Offensive Film

Local Editor

Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah noted that the few minutes which showed the offensive film against the Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) confirmed the insulting of the Prophet, the Holy Qoran and the Islam as a religion, stressing that this level of insulting is very serious and unprecedented.

“What we are witnessing today is very serious, and the worse is the insistence of internet websites to continue the film broadcast,” his eminence said during a televised speech on Al-Manar Sunday evening.

Slamming the offensive film, Sayyed Nasrallah said “I think that what is happening is more serious than burning Al-Aqsa Mosque in 1969, and keeping silent over the level of insulting against the Messenger of Allah is a very dangerous matter.”

“The nation which tolerates the insulting against its Prophet conveys a wrong message to the Israelis that they can destroy Al-Aqsa Mosque,” he said, stressing the need of bearing responsibilities emerged from this insulting.

Sayyed Nasrallah pointed out that to confront any military, political, intellectual or economic aggression against a nation, two ways should be worked on.
According to Hezbollah Secretary General, the first way is to know the enemy goals, work to foil them and prevent the aggressor from achieving them. While the second is to totally avoid a repeat of the aggression.
Sayyed Nasrallah expressed beliefs that the way through which religious and political leaders tackled this kind of incidences, led to directing the wrath of Arab peoples towards the U.S. policies rather than Christians, noting that the aggression was being attributed to Christian Copts who were accused of igniting the sectarian strife in Egypt, “but when Christian leaders – led by the patriarchs – hurried to denounce the offensive film, this goal (accusing Christians) has been decisively disrupted.”
“Those who made the movie knew that the Muslims would be enraged by it, and attributed it to Christians to cause strife between Muslims and Christians. Israel wants to watch Muslims killing Christians and burning their Churches.”
“Yet, Muslims released their anger on the U.S. and Israel, and not on Christians, which is a positive sign,” he stated.
His eminence added that the Muslim world called upon the U.S. government to stop broadcasting those offensive scenes, but the administration has done nothing, “which offers another witness to its hypocrisy, deception and double standards in dealing with issues.”
Sayyed Nasrallah said that the Muslim world has a lot of evidences on the trial of personalities, states and conferences just because they were skeptical about the Holocaust, where the U.S. administration links a lot of its aides in the world countries to the Anti-Semitism.
“Don’t the Muslims – followers of this Great religion – deserve to have the same level of presence and a similar law to be issued in their favor?” he asked.
Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that organizing rallies, protests and then going back to our homes is not enough.
“We should bear the historical responsibility of the whole Islamic Nation and of every honorable Christian in working to issue an international resolution criminalizing the defamation of heavenly religions, and the prophets at least, especially Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad,” he said, noting that Muslim communities in the U.S. bear a very serious legitimate responsibility in the regard.
So what? – ومالو؟

Christians faced outward and joined hands in a circle to protect a Muslim group of protesters as they prayed in Egypt

“Yet, Muslims released their anger on the U.S. and Israel, and not on Christians, which is a positive sign,” he stated.

His eminence added that the Muslim world called upon the U.S. government to stop circulating those offensive scenes, but the administration has done nothing, “which offers another witness to its hypocrisy, deception and double standards in dealing with issues.”

The Founding Myths of Israeli Politics

Sayyed Nasrallah, However, stated that the Muslim world has a lot of evidences on the trial of personalities, states and conferences just because they were skeptical about the Holocaust, where the U.S. administration links today a lot of its aides in the world countries to the Anti-Semitism ideology.

“Don’t the Muslims – followers of this Great religion – deserve to have the same level of presence and a similar law to be issued in their favor?” he asked.

Sayyed Nasrallah stressed that organizing rallies, protests and then going back to our homes is not enough.

“We should bear the historical responsibility of the whole Islamic Ummah (Nation) and of every honorable Christian believing in coexistence to work to issue an international resolution criminalizing the defamation of heavenly religions, and the prophets at least, especially Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammad,” he said, noting that Muslim communities in the U.S. bear a very serious legitimate responsibility in the regard.

“It is your Islam.
I wonder why many of you don’t move a muscle,”
Sayyed Nasrallah also stressed that the incident requires an urgent session of the Islamic conference because it is more serious than what’s going on in Syria.

“It is your Islam. I wonder why many of you don’t move a muscle,” he said, adding that “we must say to our Arab rulers: It Is Your Responsibility,” swearing that should the film had tackled one of the Arab kings, “you would have noticed his clear anger.”

Calling for Official Reaction

Hezbollah Secretary General believed that Lebanon can play a pivotal role in this confrontation.
“Lebanon chairs the Arab League and it is a member of the U.N. General Assembly. We should continue with the popular protests to stop the movie, prevent it from being circulated and punish those who are responsible for it.”

“I say to Sleiman (Lebanese President), Berri (Lebanese Speaker) and Miqati (Lebanese Premier); to the 8- and 14- March, that Lebanon can play the role of the global message,” his eminence said, calling on the Iraqi government to hold an Islamic Cooperation Organization summit to criminalize the abuse of heavenly Books.

“World government should understand that their interests in the Muslim and Arab world are related to their respect for sanctities of Arab and Muslim world,” Sayyed Nasrallah threatened, calling upon Muslim to flood the streets of every city in the world.

At the end of his televised speech, Sayyed Nasrallah called for wide participation in the rallies organized across Lebanon in the next few days to defend the Holy Prophet of Islam, the greatest moral man of history, calling on the crowds to answer the call of Imam Hussein’s Grandfather {Prophet Mohammad (PBUH)} as if they answer each year the call of Imam: “Is there any patronize who can stand by me?”

Urging a mass participation during Monday’s rally in Dahyeh at 17:00 Beirut time, Sayyed Nasrallah said the whole world must realize that “the Messenger has followers who will never keep silent over the insult.”

The Mohammad film, directed and produced by a bunch of Israel-loving Zionists aiming to inflame the sectarian tension in Egypt

Updated

On the eleventh anniversary of 9/11, the American ambassador to Libya got killed; the Benghazi consulate set ablaze and moreover, the Al-Qaeda flag waved over the premises of the US embassy in Cairo as thousands of Muslims were outraged by a film, written and directed and financed by Israeli Jews, they say insulted their prophet.

Thus wrote Dr. Ashraf Ezzat indicating that the film is not isulting Muslim’s prophet. Ashraf claimed that “(most, if not all, of the Muslim protesters did not watch the film nor the trailer) nevertheless, they took part in the violent protests.”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat is worried,

“The film Hit the national unity between the Muslims and Copts (Egypt Christians) and it won’t be long before Egypt would turn into another Iraq or Syria.”

Finally Dr. Ashraf Ezzat joined the Mainstream Media in keeping  al-Qaeda Myth Alive. or he
finally admitted that Al-qaeda exisits and may turn Egypt into another Iraq or Syria.

The same Ashraf “exposed” Damascus ‘False Flag’ Bombing Caught on Camera, and believed the so-called Syrian opposition” pointing the finger at the government for blast in al-Maidan district. “The whole fake scenario for yet another alleged al-Qaeda style attack was going smoothly and as planned”

So Al-qaeda, the CIA creation, never exisited, after “liberation” of Afghanistan, niether in Iraq, nor in Syria and Yeman.

Laura StuartOn the opposite side, if you want the ‘true” Story Behind Syria unrest, don’t hesitste, go to “Sister” Laura Stuart, at deLiberation and watch her God”brother” Sheikh Arifi, and Al-Qurni.

Her Palestinian friend told her tha Assad helped palestinians, but he is deviant and her God told here Success will never come from deviant“, so “Murdering Assad more Noble than Killing an Israeli”

To sum up, in case you want to know about good news for Palestinians, and the great impact of the “Arab Spring”, the great asset for Palestinian cause, never, ever miss “Brother” Khalid Hamayreh, in particular this one:
“The Syrian regime must change, or it will b e changed”

To sum up, in case you want to know about
good news for Palestinians, and the great impact of the “Arab Spring”, the great asset for Palestinian cause, never, ever miss “Brother” Khalid Hamayreh, in particular this one:
“The Syrian regime must change, or it will b e changed”

And don’t miss calling for “UNITY”?? and “Shiite extremists”

Back to Dr, Ashraf.

Dr. Ashraf is worried (he should) that “Following the “divide and conquer concept” the Israeli side knows damn well that if Egypt, the only Arab nation that is still unbending before the Zionist project of a new Middle East, is to be defeated and balkanized, It will not be achievable by the might of the military power but by the perils of the sectarian war.”

If Dr. Ahraf is honest he should replace Egypt with Syria “the only Arab nation that is still unbending before the Zionist project of a new Middle East, is to be defeated and balkanized, It will not be achievable by the might of the military power but by the perils of the sectarian war.”

While the Brotherhood’s Arabic-language Twitter account and its official website were both praising the protests — staged against a US-made film judged defamatory towards Islam — and calling for a million man march on Friday, Khairat El-Shater, the group’s deputy head, lied saying he was “relieved none of @USembassycairo staff was hurt” and expressing his hope that US-Egypt relations could weather the events.

The Embassy replied:
THANKS. BY THE WAY, HAVE YOU CHECKED OUT YOUR OWN ARABIC FEEDS? I HOPE YOU KNOW WE READ THOSE TOO.

Immediatly and after Obama warning, Mursi, the “Leader” of the only Arab nation bowed and slamed assaults on US Embassy and joined Al-Qaeda chief in urging Muslims to back Syria rebels, and his Americahood withdraws call for nationwide protests.

Nato Mufti joined after 4 days to ask Muslims to calm down “We have been used to such acts of maligning from the West oft and on.” He said stressing that protests should be peaceful.

“Our manner of protesting should reflect sense and reason. We cannot throw the blame on the United States as a whole. Nor should we physically attack the US embassies in our region.

“People in high positions in the West realise the stupidity of such attempts to destroy to the image of Islam.”

He reminded that the US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, had already described the film as “disgusting and reprehensible”.

After his innocence America Fatwa, and hearing Pope Benedict XVI calling from Lebanon for peace in Syria and stopping smuggling arms to Syria and for religious freedom in Middle East, Nato’s International Union of “Ulema” opened their old files and accused Pope Benedict XVI of fuelling “sedition” between Muslims and Christians, and demanded the Pope to apologise to Muslims over the remarks he had made in during his speech in Germany in 2006.
Pope Benedict XVI’s visit to Lebanon also sparked Islamists outrage in Tripoli, who burned and looted a Hardee’s and a KFC that shared the same building.

According to Reuters, protesters were heard shouting, “We don’t want the pope” and “No more insults [to Islam].” Rioters threw stones at the restaurants, and at Lebanese security forces, who responded with gunfire and teargas.

Nato Mufti “encouraged young film-makers to work on films about the life of the Prophet (PBUH) so as to help foreigners understand Islam.”

I wonder what happend to the “new “bio-pic” of the life of the Prophet Muhammad, salallahu alayhi wa salam.. set to be filmed in 2011 by the New York born film producer Barrie M. Osborne.”

Is it the same film as somebody claimed?

If not why Qaradawi instead of telling people about his film that will be “an international epic production aimed at bridging cultures. The film will educate people about the true meaning of Islam”, is urging young film-makers to work on films about the life of the Prophet (PBUH) so as to help foreigners understand Islam.?
Gordon Duff, said the murder of Christopher Stevens was carried out by Israeli Mossad behind the cover of Libyan mass protests.

Read his article here.

In harmony with with his Nato mufti, Khalid Hamayreh, after 4  days, under a strong title, The Prophet: The Ultimate red line, wrote, it is highly likely that the author of the disgusting feat is a Coptic Christian, or some evangelical and Zionist circles, probably including Terry Johns, or Daniel Pipes,  and David Horowitz, Hamayreh appologized to his American master saying:

“As Americans have their own idiots and fanatics, we, too, have our idiots and fanatics. And as Americans are utterly unable, probably unwilling as well, to stop their idiots, we, too, are even less able to rein in ours. “

Israeli filmmaker triggers a bloody 9/11 in Benghazi & Cairo

CAIRO – Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

Thousands of angry Egyptian Protesters infuriated over an American film they believe ridiculed/and insulted Islam’s Prophet Muhammad took to the streets of Cairo, chanting anti-American/Israeli slogans on the evening of Thursday, September 11 – strange timing, eh?

The angry Muslim crowd, mainly Salafis and ultra- conservative traditionalists headed towards the compound of the American embassy, encircled the place with their rapidly growing numbers, scaled the walls of the Embassy and tore down the US flag (the stars and the stripes) and replaced it with the Islamic black banner of Al-Qaeda (inscribed with the Muslim profession of faith: There is no god but Allah and Muhammed is the true prophet of god)

In Egypt, the Muhammed film is not linked with the Israeli director as much it is with the Copts in the United States…the Coptic community in Egypt …will have to live with the long-run consequences of the sedition this irresponsible film has created.

And actually those who made the film and financed it are no fools, they knew what they were doing and they surely saw this catastrophic response coming. Even more, they begged for it to happen.

This whole thing was no coincidence, 9/11 was not haphazardly chosen for posting the film trailer on YouTube, and terry Jones and the American Coptic leaders were not infuriating the Muslim sentiments in Egypt for nothing.

This whole stunt was supposedly leading to one thing; inflaming the sectarian tension between Muslims and Christians in Egypt.

This film, directed and produced by a bunch of Israel-loving Zionists.. was aiming to damage/and deteriorate an already vulnerable sectarian situation in Egypt.

Following the “divide and conquer concept” the Israeli side knows damn well that if Egypt, the only Arab nation that is still unbending before the Zionist project of a new Middle East, is to be defeated and balkanized, It will not be achievable by the might of the military power but by the perils of the sectarian war.

Hit the national unity between the Muslims and Copts (Egypt Christians) and it won’t be long before Egypt would turn into another Iraq or Syria.

And if that what was on the mind of the film’s makers, financers and promoters then yes, the film would absolutely help Israel as Mr. Bacile mentioned before.

Besides it wouldn’t have come at a better time, as the US presidential elections are drawing near to teach Mr. Obama a lesson; not to side with the Arab Muslims again and to know better than to snub Bibi.

Cooperation

Cooperation

It was a:
  1. full-fledged military attack,
  2. long in the planning (no spontaneous demonstration, although the demonstration helped disguise the attack, and perhaps fooled the Americans into underestimating the situation),
  3. by a paramilitary group associated with the government just installed by NATO/American violence (not to mention closely associated with the fighters against the Syrian government being sponsored by the American government), although they have done a better-than-usual job at hiding the connections,
  4. and with the assistance of at least some of the Libyan government security service, who helped deliver the Ambassador into the hands of the attackers, where he appears to have received some very rough justice, but justice nonetheless (I wonder if it included the special treatment given to Gadaffi),
  5. and the response is yet more American violence, pretending to send drones and troops to Libya which are already there and haven’t stopped operating,
  6. all for the purpose of drone-slaughtering some al-Qaeda leader so Obama can appear to be strong and manly and re-electable,
  7. which is highly ironic given that the original cause of the attack was the drone-slaughtering in Afghanistan of an al-Qaeda leader from Libya.

Meanwhile, the infamous movie – if it exists – that has sparked protests elsewhere appears to have been produced by a man named Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, who pleaded guilty to felony bank fraud:

“A variety of documents filed in the U.S. District Court case were sealed at the request of prosecutors and Nakoula’s lawyer. The sealed records–from the transcript of Nakoula’s change-of-plea hearing to sentencing memoranda–appear to indicate that his plea agreement with the government included some form of cooperation.”

As soon as he was released he started to work on the movie. It may be he is just a con man who took a sizable amount to make a movie and just produced a cheap trailer. Was this part of his ‘cooperation’? Who is really behind the movie? Who financed it?

Secretary Clinton: Sleepless in Cairo With Zero Influence

huge brewing up, which Mrs. Clinton was not informed with, awaited her arrival”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

When president Obama visited Egypt in June 2009, and gave his famous and good for nothing speech for the Muslim world from the big reception hall at Cairo University, he and his team must have felt that Cairo was the quietest and most peaceful place on earth second only to the Seychelles islands.

The reason for that was so simple, but rather dictatorial; the deposed President Mubarak was so careful nothing and no one would bother the American delegation, he simply ordered the day off for all Cairenes whom were also told to stay home and not venture to go out until Mr. Obama had already boarded his flight back to the States.

Mrs. Hillary Clinton, who have been lately engaged in a diplomatic drone attacks on the Russians and the Chinese over the Syrian issue, must have thought nothing would be rewarding and relaxing like winding up her latest world tour with a visit to the historic city of Cairo, where she would only have to do the hand shake-routine and smile back at few of the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) faces, but at the end of the day she would have all the time to enjoy sightseeing, may be the pyramids, and indulge in the Cairene serenity, she still recalls from the 2009 visit.

Prior to Mrs. Clinton’s visit to Cairo, the usual security arrangements were meticulously gone over time and again and a full week weather forecast was submitted to help the state secretary to decide on her wardrobe during the visit. … and yes, a couple of young American tourists were kidnapped in Sinai close to the borders with Israel, to highlight the Sinai loose security issue, just in case Mrs. Clinton forgot to bring it up.
President Morsi meets secretary Clinton in Cairo

But that was not all. Something was missing. There was more to this visit than just the usual speeches, the TV interviews and the expected tranquil royal suite with the majestic view of the pyramids.
There was something huge brewing up, which Mrs. Clinton was not informed with, awaited her arrival.

In her brief and careful remarks after meeting with the newly elected president, Mr. Mohamed Morsi of the MB, and Instead of calling for an immediate handover of power as American officials have in the past, Mrs. Clinton instead emphasized only the need for “building consensus across the Egyptian political spectrum.”

What Mrs. Clinton did is simply add more gray to the current vague picture, whereas what most Egyptians longed for is black and white.

The White House’s struggle to deliver a satisfactory message here, for all parties involved including Israel, reflects its dilemma with how to deal with a rapidly evolving contest for power whose outcome remains yet unclear.

The American diplomacy is trying to balance a public push for a democratic Egypt against a deeply seated desire to maintain long-term ties with both factions, the generals and the Islamists, in a context where the United States seems to have virtually zero influence in post-Mubarak Egypt, and almost any American statement is sure to provoke a backlash. And provoke a backlash it did.

More shoes and tomatoes

One of the Coptic community protesting Clinton’s visit to Egypt

Thousands of anti-MB rallied outside Mrs. Clinton’s hotel, The Four Seasons, at downtown Cairo to protest what they called the American plot to help the MB to outweigh the generals and take full control of the country.

According to the protesters, the American administration unable to curb down the post-Mubarak Islamist tide, decided to use the MB to discipline Hamas and may be make it come to terms with Israel.

By nightfall Saturday, thousands of protesters, who practically surrounded Mrs. Clinton’s Hotel, kept chanting anti-American and anti-MB slogans all night long.

One of the protest leaders chanted “If you like the MB so much, why you don’t take them back with you”

General Tantawi meets Clinton

In the following morning, without a good night sleep I presume, Mrs. Clinton went on to meet General. Houssein Tantawy, the head of the supreme council of armed forces (SCAF) behind closed doors.
The meeting with general Tantawy was seen by some of the liberal parties as a provocative move that added to the polarization of the political scene in Egypt.

As if this was not enough of a disappointment for Mrs. Clinton, her invitation to convene with the Coptic heads was unexpectedly turned down by most of the leaders of the Christian community in Egypt.

“We kind of hoped Mrs. Hillary Clinton had transparently met with all parties and factions of the Egyptian political spectrum in the same room, and not to divide and aggravate the already volatile situation by meeting with the Salafists and the MB first and in private and then ask to meet with some of the Coptic community heads” said Emad Gad, a prominent Coptic activist.

On Sunday, and after inaugurating the new American consulate in Alexandria, all of Mrs. Clinton’s appointments and her expected visit and speech at the library of Alexandria, an event I planned to attend, were cancelled for security reasons.

The road to the library of Alexandria was practically blocked by anti-American protesters who raised shoes, a sign of disrespect, and showered Mrs. Clinton’s car with a descent quantity of Egyptian tomatoes forcing her car to turn around and head for the airport.

After almost one year and a half of the so called Arab Spring, I think it’s only fair to admit that the Europeans and the Americans were outpaced and taken by surprise by the uprisings in both Tunisia and Egypt and it was not before Gaddafi took up arms did they sober up and sent in the NATO planes.
After that they were ready, and in full gear, for Syria, where the Arab spring turned into a nightmare and a theater for all the local and international powers to play out their ugliest plans.

Till this moment, the American administration is trying to make head or tail of the post-Mubarak Egypt and May be that’s why we don’t hear the Obama’s campaign Bragging about how they got rid of Mubarak. Because, frankly, they didn’t.

As the American plane was taking off the Cairo airport and heading for Tel Aviv, I guess Mrs. Clinton started typing down the report on her two-day visit to Egypt, and her lines went as follows …

“Egyptians are not happy with our current stance, the MB are wary of our moves, and I don’t trust them as well. I’m Afraid we don’t have an influence over the generals … not even by threatening to withhold the American annual aide; anyway we’ve done it before and didn’t work. Dealing with the Islamists will cost us; it has already turned the seculars and Copts against us. As for the peace treaty with Israel, no robust commitment detected, and there are too many possible scenarios. … I don’t know, but I liked Egypt 2009 better. Cairo is not tranquil nor friendly as it used to be”

Egypt’s Presidential Vote: Minorities Divided

Salafi and Coptic voters will have a major say in who becomes the country’s next president, but neither group is united over which candidate to back.

Cairo – While Egyptian expatriates have already begun voting for their next president, Egyptians at home have yet to make up their minds.

The final list of candidates was not actually confirmed until Saturday, when an administrative court ruling upheld the candidacy of former premier Ahmad Shafiq until the constitutional court judgement on the validity of the Disenfrachisement Law, which disqualifies senior members of the former regime from running.

The same court also ruled that the election must be held on schedule.

Yet with only nine days left to choose between the 13 presidential hopefuls, many Egyptians—including political and other groups – remain undecided.

These include the country’s array of Salafi groups, who are divided over which candidate to back.
The two leading Salafi forces in terms of their ability to mobilize voters – the Nour Party and the al-Daawa al-Salafiya – have come out in support of independent Islamist candidate Abdel-Moneim Abul-Fotouh – as have the Salafi Front and the Fadila Party.

But other Salafi factions – including the Asala party, Ahl al-Jamaa wal-Sunna, Ansar al-Sunna al-Muhammadia, the Sharia Association for Reform and Rights, and the Sharia Society – have thrown their weight behind Muslim Brotherhood candidate (MB) Mohammed Mursi.

The so-called “Hazemoun” tendency, meanwhile, continues to support disqualified Salafi presidential contender Hazem Salah Abu-Ismail, despite his having been barred from running.

The split within Salafi ranks reflects disagreements over the extent to which Abul-Fotouh and Mursi are committed to Islamic sharia. Mursi’s supporters accuse his rival of fence-sitting over the implementation of sharia law in Egypt, and have been urging Salafi preachers to endorse the MB candidate instead.

Abul-Fotouh has responded by stressing his determination to “struggle for God’s sharia and the establishment of the Islamic project,” while at the same time emphasising his centrist credentials. “The country wants a centrist president, not an extreme secularist nor a religious extremist,” he remarked on a recent campaign tour.

Observers believe that Abul-Fotouh has the upper hand over Mursi among Salafi voters, and these could prove decisive in giving him the edge over the MB nominee, especially given the popularity and electoral clout of the Nour Party and al-Daawa al-Salafiya.

The MB has sought to counter this by mobilizing big turnouts at Mursi’s campaign events. While designed to project its own strength, observers see this as a sign of alarm on the MB’s part.

Egypt’s Coptic Christians, who according to official statistics account for some 20 percent of the population, are also divided over which candidate to support, albeit from the opposite perspective to their Salafi compatriots.

Some Copts see the priority as electing a president who believes in a civil state and has no Islamist leanings, so as to avoid being treated as second class citizens as they were under the Mubarak regime. This inclines them to back either Shafiq, or former foreign minister Amr Moussa, despite their association with the former regime.

Other Copts see Abul-Fotouh as more deserving of the presidency.

While the Coptic Orthodox Church has deliberately avoided backing any candidate, Coptic activists have sought to mobilize the communal vote.

One group fell out with a committee of 100 prominent public figures which had been formed to choose a consensus presidential candidate who could command the support of a majority of Egyptians after it opted for Abul-Fotouh.

Most Coptic members of the committee resigned. According to Nagib Gibrail, the Church’s lawyer, they had drawn up a list of ten criteria for selecting the future president. These included believing in civil state, not belonging to any Islamist group, supporting equal right for Copts, and also not being an Arab nationalist. Gibrail would not say which if any candidate met these specifications, though he did not suggest there was agreement among Copts in support of former regime figures Moussa or Shafiq.

However, prominent activist Sharif Dous, who heads the General Coptic Association Activist, has openly backed Abul-Fotouh. The Egyptian Coptic Alliance declared after a meeting with Independent Nasserist candidate Hamdeen Sabahi that it would announce its recommendation on how Copts should vote shortly. Sabahi had pledged that if elected he would, among other things, bring to justice the perpetrators of sectarian crimes against Copts, and ensure a “just exit” – as opposed to a “safe exit” – from power by the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed forces.

The various candidates have meanwhile been continuing with their campaign tours and conferences.
The latest opinion poll, conducted by the public opinion survey and research institute at Misr University for Science and Technology, gives Abul-Fotouh the lead with the support of 34 percent of respondents. Sabahi came second with 10.7 percent, with Shafiq third at 8.4 percent, just ahead of Moussa. The MB’s Mursi trailed in fifth place with just 5.2 per cent.

Sabahi may also prove to be the net beneficiary of last week’s unprecedented televised presidential debate between Moussa and Abul-Fotouh. After the writer Alaa al-Aswany revealed that Sabahi was originally supposed to take part in the debate too but was excluded at the insistence of the other two candidates, Abul-Fotouh responded by offering to hold a separate debate with him.

US-Israel behind Egyptian religious riots

On Monday, Egypt’s most popular Islamic movement, the Muslim Brotherhood issued an appeal to both Muslims and Copts to calm down and see the foreign hands behind the riots.
“Needless to say, the number of dead and wounded and the extent of the destruction all prove that these events are not merely the result of the Edfu, Aswan Church, but the work of domestic and foreign hands endeavouring to abort the revolution and disrupt the march towards freedom, justice and democracy, even if that leads to civil war between brothers who share and have always shared homeland, blood and history, as some declared openly.”

Lebanon’s Islamic Resistance, Hizbullah, also condemned the sectarian riots in Cairo on Monday. Hizbullah claimed that Washington was behind the latest riots to divide the Muslim East on the basis of religious and racial differences. The Lebanese movement has called on Egyptians to be vigilant and try to resolve their problems through dialogue.

So far the three-day riots have cost 26 dead including three policemen and over 300 injured, mostly Coptics. The Coptic Christian minority makes 5-7% of the total Egyptian population of 80 million.
Hazem El-Beblawi, Egypt’s deputy prime minister and finance minister, has resigned from the pro-US military government in protest over the deadly violence.

Israel which supported Hosni Mubarak against anti-government protests – is affraid that if the ruling military junta allowed democratic elections, pro-Palestinian Muslim Brotherhood, has the change to dominate the newly elected civilian government.

In addition to the attack on Israeli embassy in Cairo, the Egyptian government has rounded up several Israelis and local people for spying for Israel. On New Year Eve, Mossad agents bombed Alexanderia Coptic church, killing 22 and injuring 80 more. However, the Jewish terrorist act, instead of turning the incident into sectarian riots – bonded the Muslim-majority and Christian minority.

Cairo Clashes: The Chronicles of Egypt Copts

“With Egypt military council siding with the Islamist front while dragging its feet on getting the police forces back on the street and properly functioning again, the Christian minority (10% of Egyptian population) remains in limbo.”

Dr. Ashraf Ezzat

October 11, 2011

Egypt christians (Copts) rallying in front the state TV building at downtown Cairo

Cairo remains tense after clashes left at least 24 people dead and over 270 injured in the worst violence in the Egyptian capital since the country’s revolution in February.
An overnight curfew was lifted on Monday but scores of people have been arrested, and a heavy security presence remained on the streets near Tahrir Square (the iconic landmark that witnessed the glorious days of the Egyptian revolution)

Sunday clashes followed Egypt Christians (Copts) protests over the recent destruction of a church near the southern town of Aswan, but actually there was more to these protests than just another case of demolishing or setting a church on fire (this was the third incidence in a row, of demolishing Coptic churches, in less than 8 months after Mubarak was toppled)

Barely few weeks to the first post-Mubarak parliamentary elections and after months of political debate and turmoil during which it has become obvious that the Muslim Brotherhood and the ultraconservative Islamists (Salafists) are bound to gain the lead in the upcoming vote, thus devouring the biggest chunk of the next parliament seats and tightening their grip over the legislative house.
And since the Islamists front, which obviously struck some sort of a deal with the military, has made no secret of their intention to apply the Islamic Sharia law that could undermine the citizenry of the Copts and reduce them to second class citizens, the Coptic community grew not only insecure but also frightened of the perilous prospects of a gloomy future.

So the thousands of Copts in Sunday rally were not expressing their anger over the demolition of yet another church, rather they were expressing their fears over threatened belonging and identity and over the failure of the interim government to protect them and their places of worship.

Never throughout the 1400 years of co-habitation with Muslims in Egypt had any church or monastery been attacked before, that’s why this whole new cycle of persecution and indiscrimination against the Christian minority, has been a very alarming precedent for all the Coptic community in Egypt.

What went wrong?

Copts of Egypt are enduring through threatened identity crisis for years now.

Many no doubt wondered what on earth had happened to the celebrated Tahrir revolution of civility, nonviolence and solidarity, as they watched the violent late collisions between Egypt Copts and the soldiers of the supreme council of armed forces (SCAF)

Disturbing scenes certainly, but they were neither unexpected nor totally spontaneous as some like to portray them. In the historical course of most revolutions, moments of exceptional unity and sacrifice do not last long. Once the common enemy is gone, unity gives way to the reassertion of differences and sectarian interests; old coalitions collapse, new solidarities and ideological differences emerge and even plots and schemes by another enemy begin to play out

At such times of political instability, the challenge, of course, is how to handle the old demarcations and emerging differences. In post-Mubarak Egypt, the rise of radical Islamists, security vacuum and sectarian violence have always been the most feared obstacles to a smooth transition to a democratically elected government, whatever that means.

But with SCAF siding with the Islamist front while dragging its feet on getting the police forces back on the Egyptian street and properly functioning again, the Christian minority (10% of Egyptian population) remains in limbo.

Copts in history

Egyptian Christianity, of course, predates Islam – which was brought by the Arab conquest of Egypt in 639 AD, and became the majority religion. Some Egyptians embraced Islam voluntarily for its promise of justice, many did so to avoid jizya taxes, while still others to acquire equal social and political status with Muslims.

By the 10th century, Muslims outnumbered the Christian population, and Arabic replaced the Coptic language as the official governmental language. In the 12th century, the church adopted Arabic as the official clergical language.

“Like or not, we are the true land owners” yelled the protesting copts.

Hardline Copts, in exile and at home, consider themselves a distinct ethnicity – with a unique ancestry, religion and way of life – that are now being treated as a second class population and suggest, moreover, that they are in fact the “true, original Egyptians”

With that hardline concept and reasoning in mind that the Copts never dared or allowed, if you will, to take it outside the church premises, the Coptic protesters in their Sunday march defiantly roared “like or not, we are the true land owners”

This was the first time for Egypt Copts to let go of their prudence and discretion and may be also their long buried hostility. Frustrated by SCAF lax handling of the violence and frequent targeting of the Coptic churches and since no one was prosecuted or held accountable for the previous two attacks the Copts set off this huge rally with a bit of a grudge against SCAF

Left out

In Egypt today, the key responsibility to ensure sectarian peace lies with the country’s elite (the military council, the intelligentsia, the remnants of Mubarak’s regime, Islamists, and Coptic leaders) … and of course regional and international players, namely Saudi Arabia, the United States and Israel.
As for the intelligentsia and the liberals who have being outweighed by the rise of the well organized and obscenely financed Islamists, thanks to the wahabbist Saudis, are so busy and exhausted trying to secure, by any stretch, the minimum no. of parliament seats even if that meant some secret deal with the Muslim brotherhood, they actually have no time for the Copts’ dossier.

The Coptic leaders, feeling insecure after Mubarak’s stepping down and also feeling left out while the Islamists and the remnants of the old regime split the booty of the transitional period, had no choice but to consider asking, or rather begging for international protection, an option long advocated by hardline Copts in exile especially in the United States and aided by Zionist organizations … and that required nothing more than some bloody confrontation with the Egyptian security forces during which Coptic victims would fall down in front of the whole world.

Judging from the latest statements of SCAF in which they explicitly announced that the council will not approve of a civil president to be the future supreme commander of the military forces and with field marshal Tantawy insinuating that he might consider running for the presidency we can understand SCAF need for more escalation of riots and unrest as a pretext to sort of prolong the interim period for may be another two years during which they could cling to power and shift the country into military rule.
Actually, For the time being, both the United States and Israel prefer the military council being in command than to hand over the rule of Egypt to the Muslim brotherhood with their known anti-Israeli agenda and their unpredictable stance on the camp David peace accords, even if that means turning a blind eye to SCAF security forces getting so out of control as to run over peaceful protesters with their armored vehicles exactly as Mubarak’s security apparatus used to do.

False flag

Alexandria church bombing on the Christmas Eve of 2011

When it comes to Egypt, the Israeli role doesn’t stop at the wishful thinking of an observer but extends into deep and covert involvement. I mean, we all remember the state of bewilderment and confusion that followed Alexandria church bombing last Christmas night that left around 20 dead and 90 wounded, but the classified documents found in the headquarter of the raided state security apparatus proved that the whole thing was a false flag operation pulled to implicate some Gaza-based militants and help Israel tighten its siege on gaza and incriminate Hamas as a terrorist organization.

What is similarly puzzling about the peaceful Coptic march that suddenly turned violent is the testimony of various eyewitnesses that confirmed that plain-clothed unknown assailants managed to infiltrate the rally and on reaching the final destination of the march they were the ones who started throwing stones, Molotov cocktail bottles and even shooting live ammunition at the military security forces taking down two soldiers … and from then on the scene turned into the chaos and violence we have all witnessed.

Obviously those were trained agent provocateurs that easily infiltrated the peaceful Coptic march and orchestrated this whole mess, what consolidates this thesis is the swift and widespread rumor that followed on the internet social media and on the Egyptian street stating that Hillary Clinton, the American foreign secretary has declared that the United States is willing to help the Egyptian military council to protect the Christian minority in Egypt.

Of course the next day this breaking news was refuted as false statement … but still this whole thing, regardless of the hidden motives of both the Copts and the Egyptian military, smells so much like a false flag.

Israel-US behind Muslim-Coptic riots in Egypt

Posted on May 23, 2011 by rehmat1|
Western anti-Muslim extremists never let escape any religious incident in the Muslim world without cashing on their ‘Islamophobic’ nature. The recent clashes between certain Muslim groups and the Coptic Christian minority in Egypt being flashed around the world by the Zionist-controlled media – are used to demonize the country’s Islamic organization, Muslim Brotherhood, for their intolerance toward non-Muslims. Israel and its western-poodles have openly declared their fear of Muslim Brotherhood coming into power in Egypt, Syria, Jordan and Tunisia.

The western media, as expected, was mum on the the issue which started the recent religious clash – leaving 13 people dead, over 100 injured and two churches damaged. It was not Muslims’ intolerance but the Christian intolerance which incited the sectarian strife. A young Christian woman Abeer Fakhry ound esape from her abusive Christian husband by marrying a Muslim. While the Coptic Church itself complains of discrimination by the country’s Muslim majority, this case also highlights denial of the freedom practised by the Church itself against its own members. Salwa, another young Christian mother of three who had converted to Islam seven years ago, was killed by members of her Christian family. One of her children was also killed. Her Muslim husband was injured.
Western media have shown clips of how the Coptic minority, like Israel, prefers Hosni Mubarak’s dictorial rule – because Hosni Mubarak looked the other way as the followers of Pope Shenouda chased converts to Islam in a bid to bring them back to Orthodox Christianity.
In November 2010 – Egypt’s parliament Foreign Affairs Committee chairman Dr. Dr Mostafa El Feki had accused the Israeli Mossad of being behind the 2010 clashes between Christian Copts and Muslims – which left one person dead and dozens injured.
In January 2011 – former Foreign Minister Abdallah al-Ashal had blamed Mossad for Alexandria curch bombing, which killed 22 people and wounded another 80.
The Zionist Jews consider both Muslims and Christians as anti-Israel. The Zionist-controlled mainstream media has succeeded in keeping the western-majority ignorant of the fact that Christians in Israel are treated worse than the Jews were treated by the Christians in Europe in the past. The first Palestinian who started resistance against Jewish occupation of Palestine, George Habash, was a Christian – and so were the founder of Ba’ath Party (Michael Aflak), Syrian Social National Party (Antoun Saadi), and Arab nationalism (Costantine Zureik).
Between 250-1945, the Jewish communities were expelled from almost every Christian-majority European country. Tens of thousands of thess Jews took refuge in Muslim lands, such as, Muslim Spain, Palestine, Iraq, Morocco, Albania, etc. Even Arab-hating Jewish Orientalist, Dr. Bernard Lewis, had painfully admitted that Muslim Spain provided the ‘Golden Age’ for its Jewish communities.
The purpose of religious sectarian strife is to create hatred and panic among religious communities to sabotage the coming September election and make the current pro-West military junta’s rule permanent. The Zionist Jews played a similar trick on Iraqi Jewish communities in the past, making the entire Jewish population of 137,000 flee to newly created Zionist entity. American Jewish scholar Noam Chomsky confirmed recently that Washington fears democratic regimes in the Middle East.
In order to fight Israel-US evil agenda, Muslim Brotherhood has launched ‘Freedom and Justice Party’ (pending approval from the ruling military junta) with a Coptic politician Rafiq Habib as its Vice-president with 8821 members, including 978 women and 93 Copts.
Earlier Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani in his meeting with Fahmi Howeidi and Hassan Nafea, two Egyptian political and social scholars – warned them of the Israel-US tactics to hijack Egyptian uprising.

My advice to Egypt

The New Year bombing in Alexandria, which killed as many as 25 innocent people, nearly all of them Christian Copts, shocked Egypt and the Arab world. The New Year bombing in Alexandria, which killed as many as 25 innocent people, nearly all of them Christian Copts, shocked Egypt and the Arab world. It infuriated Christians and Muslims alike as the criminals crossed the Rubicon in their terrorism, something that many – including myself – never thought would happen.

It is probably too early to determine the identity of the perpetrators, although there are signs indicating that the bombing may have been the work of al-Qaeda, which could indeed carry out the unthinkable. However, it is absolutely vital that any subsequent treatment of terrorism should go beyond the mere identification and punishment of those responsible if it is to be genuinely effective. In this case, it would be insufficient to rely on a security response alone. Egypt must do everything possible to eradicate the environment conducive to terrorism, not just the acts of terror themselves.

Such a move would require religious, cultural and political action as well as a security response. The sword alone cannot guarantee internal peace and security in any state. Even states with none of Egypt’s complex social, political and economic problems can guarantee to be free of terrorist acts.

Although government agencies might be tempted to take some hasty short-term measures to appease public opinion, this would be at the very best a futile reaction prompting further terror and bloodshed.

My advice to the government of Egypt is to adopt rational means to uproot religious extremism, especially against groups indoctrinated in al-Qaeda style ideologies. From experience, the most effective way to do this is by encouraging moderate Islamic groups, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, to foster the true message of Islam, the message that preaches moderation, a vibrant civil society and equality, irrespective of religion and ethnicity.

It is no secret that the Egyptian authorities have been waging a relentless wave of repression against the Muslim Brotherhood for reasons that can be viewed as trivial. Members have been hounded, arrested and beaten badly; their businesses and personal belongings have been ransacked and confiscated in ways reminiscent of medieval practices.

As a result, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that impressionable young Muslims, frustrated by the inequalities in Egyptian society, believe that moderation doesn’t pay and the only way to effect real change is by using violence and terror. In the Gaza Strip, Muslim Brotherhood imams succeeded in isolating al-Qaeda’s ideas by demonstrating to misguided elements their incompatibility with true Islam. Thankfully, many people have now moved away from the extremist views of al-Qaeda.

Some people might think that the deployment of the scholars of Cairo’s Al-Azhar University at the forefront of the ideological confrontation with al-Qaeda is sufficient to enlighten the extremists and save them from heresy. Nevertheless, even if the scholars of Al-Azhar happen to be the best and most erudite doctors of religion, they would still be viewed as agents of the Egyptian regime and would therefore be mistrusted and rejected. Such Ulema would be dismissed even if they produced the most convincing evidence from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, may peace be upon him. I am sure that the Egyptian authorities know this all too well, but it has become taboo for the government to acknowledge its own failures, so it is likely to use the same old methods which have been proven repeatedly to be useless.

I understand that it might be embarrassing for the Egyptian government to seek help from the Muslim Brotherhood for the purpose of eradicating religious extremism. However, the task of maintaining civil peace and protecting the Egyptian people should override all other considerations. In short, the Egyptian government should travel any road and take any risk in order to shield the people of Egypt from the terrorists. Moreover, the government must not appear to favour one part of society at the expense of another. This would cause real uproar in many quarters.

Hence, the Egyptian government itself must exercise self-restraint and rein in any temptation to target innocent groups just because it appears politically expedient to do so. Such a course of action would only generate more rage and store up yet more problems for the future.

We know that Egypt has a huge reservoir of wise men and women who are capable of isolating and liquidating the ghoul of terror. The Egyptian authorities should, therefore, hold sincere consultations with the best brains in the country over the issue of terrorism; even the most anti-government elements should be included in the exercise.

The government needs to get as close as possible to the people it governs; a relationship based on trust between the people and government should be encouraged. If that happened, virtually every member of society would be transformed into a willing intelligence officer. On the other hand, if ordinary people continue to be treated as subjects rather than citizens and real grievances are allowed to fester, the consequences could be disastrous.

Finally, Egypt should be vigilant about Israel and its intentions. “Al-Qaeda” is an easy scapegoat to distract investigations into terrorist acts from other potential perpetrators, including the Israeli Mossad, which is not above carrying out such acts as the Alexandria church bombing to foment civil unrest in Egypt. The Egyptian intelligence services have long experience with the way that Mossad operates. The Israelis should never, ever be given the benefit of the doubt.

Those who sow hate can only blame themselves when they reap it multi-fold‏

By Nahida

Jewish zionists continue their malevolent acts of sowing hate, causing mayhem, setting ablaze regions and destabilizing societies of multi-faiths, multi-cultures who have peacefully coexisted for millennia, watch how they do it on their prime TV shows:

This was aired by “israeli” TV just days before the bombings of a Copt (Christian) Church in Alexandria (Egypt), on New Year’s eve.

The sudden multiplication by such bloody attacks on Christians in Muslim countries (Iraq, Egypt, Sudan…ect) has all the marks of Mossad’s false flag operations. Only haplessly ignorant people would believe that Muslims have suddenly, out of the blue, developed hatred of Christians, and are bent on killing them and destroying their churches which they have protected for centuries.

Even the pro-west Egyptian diplomats are overt on their assumption that this is Mossad’s deed. In fact the date itself has their signature. Christmas and new year!

Flash back:FALSE FLAG OPERATIONS

The zionist not only that they have their hands dripping of the blood of Palestinians since they decided to rob Palestine, they murdered their own “friends” and “allies”; as when they bombed the USS Liberty in order to blame it on Egypt

They even did it against their own people, as they did to Iraqi Jews to force them to flee their homes

And they have been doing again with commendable achievement in Iraq to flare up a civil and sectarian war:

Operation Susannah

In 1956, as reported by the Times Of London, during one of Israel’s perpetual wars with its neighbors, the Israeli Mossad tried to trick the United States into siding with Israel against Egypt by blowing up a US facility in Cairo and blaming the Egyptians for it. The plot was wrecked when the operatives were caught and confessed, creating a huge scandal. This event was referred to as the Lavon Affair named after the Israeli Defense Minister, Pinhas Lavon, at that time.

THE LAVON AFFAIR: IS HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF?

{……….In 1954, Israel sponsored bombings against US and UK interests in Cairo aiming to cause trouble between Egypt and the West.[4] This operation, latter dubbed the Lavon Affair cost Israeli defense minister Pinhas Lavon his job. Israel (where it is known as “The Unfortunate Affair”) finally admitted responsibility in 2005.[5]………}

Operation Susannah
http://www.conservapedia.com/Mossad#Operation_Susannah

Operation Susannah was a false flag operation conducted in 1954 by Israeli operatives in Egypt against American and British targets, designed to appear as though Egyptian Arabs had carried out the attacks. Israeli agents had infiltrated Egyptian society and recruited Egyptian-born Jews to carry out the operation. The U.S. Information Agency libraries in Alexandria and Cairo as well as a British-owned theater were bombed on July 14, 1954. No injuries or casualties occurred during the bombings, except to one of the operatives, when his bomb exploded prematurely. Egyptian authorities uncovered the operation, initially not realizing it was an Israeli operation. After the Israeli spy ring was broken up, trials followed. Two suspects were acquitted, while two culprits were hanged, and several others were sentenced to lengthy prison terms. One or two other operatives committed suicide.

Israeli defense minister Pinhas Lavon was forced to resign in 1955. Consequently, the aftermath of Operation Susannah is often called The Levon Affair.

THE JEWS OF IRAQ by the Iraqi Jew Naeim Giladi

The Iraqi Jew Naeim Giladi wrote a book detailing how Israelis performed terrorist actions and caused the deaths of many Jewish Iraqis during the 1950s so that Arab Iraqis can be blamed for it. The purpose of these terrorist actions was to cause Jews to migrate to Israel from Iraq. All but 6,000 of the 125,000 Jews in Iraq fled to Israel.

“I write this article for the same reason I wrote my book:
to tell the American people, and especially American Jews, thatJews from Islamic lands did not emigrate willingly to Israel; that, to force them to leave, Jews killed Jews; and that to buy time to confiscate ever more Arab lands, Jews on numerous occasions rejected genuine peace initiatives from their Arab neighbors.

I write about what the first prime minister of Israel called “cruel Zionism.”

I write about it because I was part of it.

King David’s hotel

Menachem Begin was the terrorist head of the Irgun when it bombed
the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing nearly 100 people.

Begin had been a criminal in the Soviet Union (1940) before bringing his terror methods to Palestine.

On the morning of July 22, 1946, a group of 15-20 Irgun terrorists dressed as Arabs entered the King David Hotel in Jerusalem. They unloaded 225 kilograms of explosives hidden in milk churns.(1) The King David Hotel housed the Secretariat of the Government of Palestine and Headquarters of the British Forces in Palestine. When a British officer became suspicious, a shootout took place and the Irgun lit the fuses and fled. The explosion destroyed part of the hotel and killed 91 people. Most of the victims were British but 15 innocent Jews also died. It must not be felt that Begin was merely suspected of being behind these murderous deeds. Begin admitted that the Irgun committed these acts and that they were necessary for the establishment of a Jewish state.

The Outrage  King David Hotel
USS Liberty On June 8, 1967 Israel used unmarked fighters and torpedo boats to launch an hour and one-half attack on the American Navy ship the USS Liberty, costing 34 American lives and 171 wounded. The Israelis first attacked the Liberty’s radio towers in an attempt to stop the Sixth Fleet from learning that the Israelis were the attackers. After unmarked Israeli fighters horrendously bombed and strafed the Liberty, Israel sent in torpedo boats to finish the job. They even machine gunned the deployed life rafts in an effort to ensure that there would be no survivors (witnesses) who could expose them. Just as in the Lavon Affair, Israel hoped to blame this act of war on their enemy, the Egyptians. This time, only the courage and resourcefulness of the Liberty’s crew prevented a further compounding of the travesty.

The air strike on Libya

On April 15, 1986 US war planes bombed the Libyan cities of Tripoli and Benghazi. They destroyed the home of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and killed at least 30 civilians, including many children. Gaddafi himself, the main target of the air strike, was not hurt.

According to Victor Ostrovski, a defector from the Israeli Mossad, the US was tricked into bombing Libya when the Israeli Mossad planted a radio transmitter in Tripoli which sent out fake orders to “terrorists” which the US could intercept. The faked orders caused Libya to be blamed for a German disco bombing. As a result of this fake transmission, Reagan used it as evidence to bomb Libya killing 30 innocent people including Qaddhafi’s baby daughter.

Attempt to blow the Mexican Congress

It was Israelis who were armed with 9mm pistols, nine grenades, explosives, three detonators and 58 bullets and caught in Mexico in an attempt to blow the Mexican Congress up on October 10, 2001, one month after 911. Curiously these Israelis were found not with Israeli passports in their possession but with Pakistani passports. The Israelis were booked for conspiracy to destroy a building by means of an explosive by the Mexican police.

If they were successful in blowing up the Mexican Congress then like 911 it would have been blamed on Muslim terrorists, especially if Pakistani passports were found at the scene of the crime. They got caught red-handed here and only God knows how many other incidents that innocent Muslims are being blamed for that was really done by Israelis.

The Israeli newspaper Ma’ariv on Wednesday reported that Likud leader Benjamin Netanyahu told an audience at Bar Ilan university that the September 11, 2001 terror attacks had been beneficial for Israel.

“We are benefiting from one thing, and that is the attack on the Twin Towers and Pentagon, and the American struggle in Iraq,” Ma’ariv quoted the former prime minister as saying. He reportedly added that these events “swung American public opinion in our favor

Those who sow hatred can only blame themselves when hatred comes bouncing back at them in multi-fold

To defeat the aggressors is not enough to make peace durable. The main thing is to discard the ideology that generates war.

Bashir Gemayel’s long prediction …

>

Via Friday-Lunch-Club

“… we refuse to be put on a par with the Copts of Egypt, or the Christians of certain Arab countries.”
‘Protectors’
Today Gemayel is remembered by many Christian Lebanese, especially those who live abroad, as a patriot and romantic icon of his people. Others recall his name only because his assassination in 1982, after having been elected president of Lebanon, provoked the Sabra and Shatilla massacres.
The Gemayels are an important Lebanese political family. Bashir’s father Sheikh Pierre Gemayel was the founder of the Phalange party, and his brother Amin served as president of Lebanon from 1982 to 1988. Amin’s son, also Pierre, was assassinated in 2006. Amin was in the news again on January 3, when he reacted angrily to the murder of Christians on New Year’s Eve in Alexandria, Egypt: “Massacres are taking place for no reason and without any justification against Christians. It is only because they are Christians.”..”
