For over 200 days, we here in the Arab World have been wondering how the so-called civilized world, along with its intellectual system and human rights laws, would allow such a genocide to take place against helpless women, children, and innocent civilians in Gaza and Palestine, without trying the impossible to stop this disgraceful insult against every human life everywhere.
Every day, the Zionists would perpetrate dozens of massacres against hundreds of Palestinians and would kill journalists, medical doctors, nurses, and patients, burying them in a mass grave inside the hospital. And yet the US continues to flood the Zionists with armaments, money, and moral support, enabling the worst genocide and ethnic cleansing that has brought dishonor upon our world and us who live in these times.
All of us here in the Middle East were feeling absolutely helpless, depressed, and utterly betrayed by the Western World, as it not only betrayed us, but also Western values which the West claimed to develop and promote in the interest of humanity. For seven, long, difficult months, we questioned everything the West had said about itself, most notably its propaganda regarding the free press, the rights of women, the rights of children, and human rights in decent and safe lives.
All of this was happening to us as if we lived on an extremely remote island until the students of Columbia University broke this cycle with their brave forthcoming acts to challenge the conspiratory world‘s silence and announce their extremely important call to stop genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, an act that triggered a worldwide movement by university students, professors, and employees in support of life in Gaza, and against the daily and continued massacres there.
Your movement has restored our faith in human conscience, but your suffering and the way you have been treated proved to us, beyond any doubt, that Western systems leave a lot to be desired. The deep alliance that has surfaced between Zionists everywhere and Western governments has shown the horrifying moral deterioration of Western governments. Just as they spread fear and horror about Covid-19, they also started to fabricate myths about attacks on Jews, although Jewish students and professors were at the forefront of these noble movements, this did not prevent misleading media from accusing the student movement as antisemitic.
Instead of trusting that the movement proved that the issue was not between Muslims and Jews, but one of occupation, racism, and the worst violation of human rights witnessed in modern times, the authorities went on distorting facts and misleading people.
When Jews were persecuted in Europe, they found their haven among the Arabs, and until the creation of the Zionist entity, Jews were citizens in most Arab countries, living amicably with Muslims and Christians and contributing to the prosperity and welfare of their countries. The Middle East is the cradle of the three monotheistic religions, and that is why its people lived together with the church and the mosque side by side, and with the deep-rooted faith that we all worship the same God but in different ways.
The first time we heard a language that divided the Iraqis into Sunnis and Shias was when American forces occupied Iraq and started talking about the Sunni triangle, Kurdish North, and Shia South. This is an alien language to the region’s indigenous Arabs, and this is the language that terrorists attempted to implant among our people.
Antisemitism is a label coined and promoted by those who gave themselves the right to uproot indigenous people and to use their land and resources as their own. The Arabs had never been and cannot be antisemitic, as they themselves are Semites. Those who misused movements to incite hatred against Jews have nothing to do with Islam, as the Quran lauded all prophets and mentioned the followers of all prophets with great respect; “Indeed the faithful, the Jews, the Christians, and the Sabaeans —those of them who have faith in Allah and the Last Day and act righteously— they shall have their reward near their Lord, and they will have no fear, nor will they grieve.”
The Quran stresses the importance of faith rather than religion, and any attempt to generate and spread fear among the followers of other religions is only a very suspicious political tool used for dubious purposes. The Western media that was supposed to facilitate communication among different people on different lands had become an impediment in the way of truth reaching audiences everywhere.
Students and professors paid a heavy price, and some have lost the opportunity to complete their studies, but what you have done is so gracious and so eternal that it restored our confidence in humanity and its ability to strongly object to gross injustice, no matter how powerful and militarized it may seem. In that sense, you restored some of our confidence that the voice of the people will override the voice of governments who cannot get beyond their narrow, material interests, and their deeply rooted and unquestioned prejudices and shallow slogans.
You proved that you do not belong to the hypocrisy of the State, whose current discourse and actions are in total contradiction with its own narrative. Western systems are trying to spread fear: Jews fearing Muslims, Muslims fearing Jews, Christians fearing Muslims, Westerners against Easterners, in order to serve the interests of Zionist dark forces who do not see people with similar hearts and minds, but only see what may divide their ranks and make them weaker: inactive and incapable of undermining the interests of these dark forces.
Our God said in the Quran, “O mankind! Indeed We created you from a male and a female, and made you nations and tribes that you may identify yourselves with one another. Indeed the noblest of you in the sight of Allah is the most Godwary among you. Indeed Allah is all-knowing, all-aware.” Differences in color, origin, religion, or ethnicity, only exist to prove the greatness of the Creator, and not to classify people as superior and inferior. Only the vile racists do that for their own evil purposes, which have nothing to do with the interests of most people on this planet.

حين بدأت الحرب الإرهابية الغربية المنظمة ضد الجمهورية العربية السورية في أوائل العام 2011 وبدأ توافد شذاذ الآفاق من كل أنحاء المعمورة عبر تركيا إلى سورية قرّرت الدول الغربية سحب كل مراسليها ووكالات أنبائها من سورية واستعاضت عنهم بمن سمتهم «شهود عيان»، حيث تدفع لأي مرتزق مبلغاً من المال لقاء إرساله التقرير الذي يريدون والذي يخدم الصورة التي قرّروا الترويج لها بغض النظر عن الوقائع والأحداث الحقيقية على الأرض. كما استعانوا بعميل لهم يمكث في كوفنتري ببريطانيا أعطى نفسه لقب «مدير المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان» وأصبحت تقاريره وأكاذيبه معتمدة من معظم وسائل الإعلام الغربية. أمّا الجزيرة القطرية فقد كانت مصدراً رئيسياً للأنباء عن سورية، علماً أن وزير خارجية قطر ورئيس وزرائها السابق حمد بن جاسم اعترف لاحقاً أنه دُفع أكثر من 137 مليار دولار لتمويل الحرب الإرهابية على سورية، وبأن الحرب جرت وفق مخطط غربي تقوده الولايات المتحدة خدمة للكيان اللقيط وجرى التنسيق بين القوى المخابراتية الغربية والعربية المتواطئة معها في غرفة سميت: «موك» في إحدى الدول المجاورة
ولكنّ أحداً من شهود العيان هؤلاء لم يذكر تدمير الإرهابيين للمشفى الوطني في مدينة حمص والذي كان يخدم آلاف الناس في حمص وريفها أو مشفى الكندي في حلب والذي كان تصنيفه من أهم مشافي الشرق الأوسط، كما لم يتطرّق شهود العيان هؤلاء إلى استهداف أقدم مآذن الجوامع وأيقونات ومباني الكنائس الغارقة في القدم في معلولا وصيدنايا وكنيسة أم الزنار في حمص ومئذنة الجامع الأموي في حلب، ناهيك عن نهب وتدمير آثار «دوروس يوروبا» والرقة واللاذقية، وناهيك عن منع الفلاحين من زراعة أراضيهم وتهجيرهم إلى البلدان المجاورة، وعن استهداف مؤسسات البذار ومراكز تطوير السلالات للأغنام والماعز والأبقار؛ أي أن نسغ الحياة الذي يضمن عيش واستمرار المواطن تمّ استهدافه من كل أوجهه وفي كل أنحاء البلاد وبأبشع الوسائل المجرمة والقاتلة وفق خطة وضعتها المخابرات الغربية المعادية للوجود العربي. وقد تمّ كل هذا تحت ذرائع إعلامية وسياسية واهية انكشفت حقيقتها اليوم ليعلم الجميع أن الهدف كان تدمير الدولة السورية وكل مكونات قوتها وعزّتها واستمرارها. وكان الإعلام الغربي المضلّل والعربي المرتهن للقوى الصهيونية هما العون الأساسي للإرهابيين للاستمرار بارتكاب جرائمهم بتغطية سياسية غربية وتمويل وتنظيم غربيين
كل هذه الصور عادت إلى أذهاننا اليوم بقوة نحن السوريون شهود العيان الحقيقيون والصادقون والحريصون على كلّ ذرّة تراب من بلدنا العزيز ومن الوطن العربي، عادت بقوة وألم شديدين إلى أذهاننا ونحن نشهد استهداف المشافي والمدارس والمساجد والكنائس في غزة عن عمد وسابق إصرار، وتدميرها بوحشية معهودة من قبل الصهاينة فوق رؤوس جرحاها وطلابها واللاجئين إليها بحثاً عن مأوى من جحيم القصف الهمجي العنصري المجرم، عادت إلينا بقوة ونحن نشهد استهداف الكوادر الطبية التي تخاطر بحياتها لإنقاذ حياة إنسانية، والكوادر الإعلامية التي تتحدى أخطار الموت لنقل حقيقة ما يجري أملاً أن تساعد في تحريك ضمائر الرأي العام لوقف آلة القتل والشرّ والعدوان. كل هذا عاد إلى أذهاننا حين كنا نخرج من بيوتنا ونودّع أهالينا كلّ صباح لأننا لا نعلم من يعود ومن سوف تنال منه قذيفة يطلقها الإرهابيون على مدننا ومؤسساتنا ومدارسنا ومشافينا. كما عاد إلى أذهاننا منظر استهداف محمد الدرّة عام 2000، الطفل الذي كان يحتمي بوالده من رصاص يستهدفه، ومنظر ضحايا مجزرة صبرا وشاتيلا، لنشهد اليوم جريمة غير مسبوقة بقتل آلاف الأطفال في فلسطين وعشرات آلاف المدنيين وتدمير بيوتهم فوق رؤوسهم كي لا يقاوموا احتلالاً إسرائيلياً بغيضاً، وتدمير كنيسة من أقدم الكنائس في العالم وارتكاب مجزرة ضد اللاجئين إليها من مسلمين ومسيحيين!
ما يتمّ ارتكابه اليوم في فلسطين من حرب إبادة من قبل إرهاب صهيوني منظم مسنود غربياً بالمال والسلاح لم يعد شأناً فلسطينياً ولا عربياً ولا إسلامياً ولا مسيحياً فقط بل هو شأن إنساني، وأحرار العالم كلّه شهود عيان عليه وهو أفظع بكثير ممّا تعرّضت له جنوب إفريقيا إبان الحكم العنصري، فهو حرب إبادة موصوفة يشنها غرباء أجانب جاؤوا من البلدان الغربية بعقيدتهم المتطرّفة وبعدوانيتهم المتوحشة ضد الشعب الفلسطيني الذي كل ما يناضل من أجله هو أن يعيش بأمن وسلام على أرضه مثل كل شعوب الأرض. وهذا ليس مسؤولية العرب والمسلمين فقط بل مسؤولية أحرار العالم في كل مكان. نحن على اطلاع على مواقف غربية أميركية ويهودية شريفة تقف مع حياة الإنسان وتعلي صوتها لإيقاف الجرائم والتطهير العرقي وهنا نحيّي جوش بول الذي أعلن استقالته من الخارجية الأميركية احتجاجاً على دعم بلاده لإسرائيل بالأسلحة الفتاكة التي تُستخدم في حرب الإبادة الإسرائيلية ضد الفلسطينيين الأبرياء. ولكنّ هذا لم يعد كافياً فالعدوان الآثم اليوم هو على خليفة اللـه في الأرض، وهو على روح الله، وهو على الذات الإلهية: «فإذا سوّيته ونفخت فيه من روحي فَقَعُوا له ساجدين»، هكذا أراد اللـه أعزّ كرامة للإنسان حيث تسجد له الملائكة في السماء، فكيف يصمت معظم العالم اليوم عن أبشع الجرائم التي تُرتكب بحق أناس بريئين مظلومين أطفالاً ونساءً ورجالاً وطلاباً وإعلاميين وكوادر طبية ومؤمنين وكهنة ولاجئين إلى بيوت اللـه ظنّاً منهم أنه مهما بلغ الإجرام بشاعة فلن يطول بيت اللـه ولكنه طاله من قبل في معلولا وصيدنايا وأم الزنار ومسجد سكينة بنت الحسين ومسجد عمّار بن ياسر حيث تمّ قتل المؤمنين العابدين تماماً كما يفعل الإرهاب الصهيوني اليوم في فلسطين
إن الوقوف ضد حرب الإبادة الصهيونية البشعة والظالمة في فلسطين اليوم هو فرض عين على كلّ إنسان حرّ وشريف وإن الأخبار التي وصلتنا عن الأسرى الفلسطينيين في السجون الصهيونية من تكسير أطرافهم والاعتداء عليهم وحرمانهم من الماء والغذاء ليندى لها جبين كلّ إنسان مؤمن بإنسانية الإنسان وقدسيّتها وواجب احترامها وصونها من كل أذى ومكروه. القضية الكبرى اليوم ليست فقط المسجد الأقصى وكنيسة القيامة ولكنها حياة البشر والأطفال الذين لا حول لهم ولا قوة وقد سُجنوا في بقعة جغرافية سيطر عليها احتلال أجنبي غربي بغيض وغاشم قصفاً وقتلاً وتدميراً. فقد قال الرسول الكريم صلى اللـه عليه وعلى آله وسلّم: «لأن تهدم الكعبة حجراً حجراً، أهون عند اللـه من أن يراق دم امرئ مسلم»، فما بالكم باستهداف وقتل آلاف الأطفال ووجود المئات منهم تحت الأنقاض وقصف جرحاهم في المستشفيات في حرب إبادة صهيونية مدعومة غربياً من قبل حكومات آثمة موصوفة؟
إن التحدّي الذي تمثله فلسطين اليوم هو أهمّ تحدٍّ يواجه الإنسانية في القرن الواحد والعشرين وهو تحدٍّ لكلّ إنسان حرّ وشريف يسمع ويرى ويعقل حيثما كان على وجه هذا الكوكب. وهنا فإن الرئيس الكولومبي غوستافو بيترو قد ضرب مثلاً مشرّفاً لمن يدّعون تحمّل المسؤولية في كل أنحاء العالم حين اتخذ موقفاً حاسماً من هذه الجرائم الشنيعة، وقال: «1540 طفلاً اليوم (العدد أصبح 1700) في غزة قُتلوا أمام أعين حكومات وأجهزة إعلام أوروبا والولايات المتحدة الذين يسمون أنفسهم زيفاً «ديمقراطيين» وما زالت المشافي تتلقى إنذارات بإخلائها لقصفها والمدارس أيضاً التي تحوّلت إلى مراكز إيواء بعد أن أصبح أكثر من مليون فلسطيني مشرّدين داخل بلدهم من دون مأوى أو ملجأ يحميهم». وإذا تذكرنا قول ربنا الكريم: «من قتل نفساً بغير نفس أو فساد في الأرض فكأنما قتل الناس جميعاً». نُدرك حجم الجريمة التي يتمّ ارتكابها اليوم ليس بحق فلسطين والفلسطينيين فقط وإنما بحق الإنسانية وكرامة الإنسان وقدسيّة حياته على هذه الأرض. كما أن الوقوف الحقيقي في وجه هذه الإبادة الصهيونية وإيقافها شرط أساسي وجوهري للوقوف ضد إرهاب منظم ومموّل ومسلّح من قبل أطراف غربية عدّة في هذا العالم. أما إغداق القائمين على حرب الإبادة هذه بالمال والسلاح والدعم الإعلامي من قبل الولايات المتحدة وحكومات أوروبا فهو مشاركة حقيقية في ارتكاب الجريمة وعامل حقيقي لاستمرارها وحصادها المزيد من الأرواح البريئة التوّاقة للحياة والعيش بسلام وأمان

On Thursday 21st September President Assad and the First Lady, Asma Al Assad arrived at the Chinese city of Ghuangzhou as honoured guests of President Xi Jinping. The Chinese President had chartered a private plane to bring Assad and his wife to China for their first visit since 2004.
The Assad Xi summit began on a foggy, damp day in Ghuangzou but the warmth of the welcome was palpable. Many have spoken about the symbolism of the First Lady’s outfit which was of the finest silk damask to honour the historical importance of the Silk Road now transformed into the Belt and Road Initiative that Syria joined officially in January 2022. It is rare these days that we see such a nod to history, culture and civilisation from Western leaders.
The Syrian delegation accompanying the President was a high level one – including Dr. Faisal Mikdad, Foreign Affairs Minister and long term advisor to the Presidency, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban. The plan was to hold a summit meeting and a discussion session and a luncheon in honour of President Assad and Asma. Assad and the delegation would then travel to Beijing to meet with senior Chinese officials and to discuss future economic cooperation projects and to sign a number of bilateral agreements.
The two Presidents seal the future of the Belt and Road Initiative
Xi Jinping referred to the sixty seven years of Syrian-Chinese relations that have remained steadfast despite the ever changing international landscape. Syria is perceived as a strategic partner in the Belt and Road Initiative. Xi also supports Syria joining the Shanghai Organisation as a partner for dialogue.
China supports Syria’s battle against hostile external interference, rejects the occupation of Syrian territory by illegal forces and urges the lifting of economic sanctions which unilaterally punish the Syrian people for resisting regime change since 2011.
President Xi also acknowledged Syrian support over US interference in Taiwan.
President Assad described China as an advanced and economically strong nation but one that has not lost its humanity unlike developed counterparts in the West.
Rather, according to Assad, China plays a major role in bringing balance to the global political sphere and in developing a win-win cooperation paradigm. Syria will remain a loyal friend of China because they are united in principles and vision for the region.
Assad reiterated support for ‘One China’ and supports initiatives proposed by Xi that envision a secure future for Humanity.
Assad confirmed the need to confront Western military power with the principles of soft power based on ethical trade and cooperation that China has adopted.
Assad considered this to be a historic visit, one that comes as a multipolar world is being created that will restore global equilibrium and stability.
Perhaps most importantly for the Syrian people, there were extensive discussions about the restoration and development of the electricity, oil and gas sectors in Syria that have been decimated by the 12 year proxy war and with the US still occupying the north-east oil-rich region of Syria. President Al Assad and First Lady Asma Al Assad arrive for the welcome banquet in Ghangzhou and the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games.
History in the making
“China is a rising power, it is important. Most of the world has different kinds of relations with China whether in science, politics, economy, business – in every field you need China now. And our relationship for the future is going to be on the rise. It was good, but it will be better because when a country like China proves that it is a real friend, a friend you can rely on, it is very natural to have a better relationship on the popular level, not only on the formal level”

President Xi described China’s role in the region at a meeting of the Arab League in 2016:
Instead of looking for a proxy in the Middle East, we promote peace. Instead of seeking any sphere of influence, we call on all parties to join the circle of friends for the Belt and Road initiative. Instead of attempting to fill the “vacuum” we are building a cooperative partnership network for win-win outcomes.
The Chinese Arab Policy paper published in 2016 is well worth reading. “Over two thousand years ago, land and maritime Silk Roads already linked the Chinese and Arab nations. The policy paper emphasises historic cooperation, peaceful relations and the openness of diverse civilizations to each other’s perspectives. It seeks to build relations based on trust, regional peace, stability and mutually beneficial economic development.
In July 2018 President Xi gave a speech at the opening ceremony of the Eighth Ministerial Meeting of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum. Xi proposed a road map that incorporated economic partnership and multi-dimensional cooperation in politics, culture and technology.
The future of trade ties between China and the Arab nations, including Syria. would be channelled through the BRI and the 1+2+3 system. The core of this pattern is hydrocarbon-based energy, its two branches are infrastructure construction and trade and investment facilitation. There is a third sector of development that includes new energy, nuclear energy and space exploration.
The BRI with its focus on developing infrastructure, open trade and connectivity between continents will be a major component of any Syrian strategy for reconstruction.
In August 2017 President Assad coined the phrase “Heading East” when he informed the Syrian foreign service to embark on a revision of Syria’s international relations – the pivot East.
Syria and the Ancient Silk Road
Relations between East and West Asia span three millennia. The Ancient Silk Road was originally concentrated in two or three overland routes and one sea route. The most important began in the city of Chang’an, capital of Tang China, running through Central Asia to Persia and then into ancient Syria and the Arabian Peninsula reaching the cities of Palmyra and Petra in Syria and Jordan respectively.
From Petra, the trade caravans would head to Alexandria in Egypt and then towards Rome. At a later stage Palmyra rather usurped Petra and dominated the trade scene. Palmyra is located at the centre of the Levant, the midpoint between Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean.
Crossing the Syrian desert was one of the shortest and most accessible of the Ancient Silk Road routes.
Palmyra developed into a quasi empire built on the riches acquired through the Silk Road trade until Roman imperial armies besieged, destroyed and looted the great Syrian city state in 273 AD bringing the Palmyrene Empire to an early demise.
Of course during the regime change war waged against Syria, the Western-backed ISIS terrorists looted, destroyed and besieged Palmyra again until liberation in 2016 and re-liberation in 2017 by the Syrian Arab Army and allies.
In the North-East of Syria is the ancient city of Dura-Europos located between the modern day cities of Al Mayadin and Al Bukamal (border crossing with Iraq coveted by the US) in the Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor, another region that has been targeted both by ISIS, the US military and their proxy Kurdish Separatist militia.
Dura Europos became one of the main hubs of the Ancient Silk Road.
Today, as I stand here and look back at history, I seem to hear the camel bells echoing in the mountains and see wisps of smoke rising from the desert and this gives me a specially good feeling

The much fought-over city of Aleppo is located at the crossroads of trade routes between East and West, straddling a strategic position connecting Anatolia, the Mediterranean and Europe.
The city of Antioch, now annexed by Turkiye, is located West of Aleppo on the Orontes River and was also an important trade hub for the Silk Road caravans which journeyed from Antioch eastwards – through Aleppo, modern day Jarablus (occupied by Turkish proxy armed groups) towards Persia and East Asia to trade commodities with Chinese traders. Antioch was also a hub for traders from the Arabian Peninsula and Yemen via Palmyra.
It is not coincidental that these cities and regions were targeted early on in the regime change war by the West and Turkiye (NATO member state) in a clear attempt to take control of the primary hubs along the Ancient Silk Road that would also play a pivotal role in the new Chinese Belt and Road Initiative.
The Five Seas Project
Ever since President Bashar al-Assad first announced the Five Seas vision in 2004 as a response to the newly virulent regime change operation launched in the wake of 9/11, the battle lines have been clearly drawn over two opposing destinies shaping the Arab world. When the western-directed Arab Spring of color revolutions sabotaged the efforts of the Five Seas program (and also broader Libyan plans for a Great Manmade water project funded by a gold backed Dinar), things took a very dark turn.
Ehret outlines the the Five Seas strategy as “the construction of rail, roads, and energy grids connecting the water systems of the Mediterranean, Persian Gulf, Black Sea, Red Sea, and Caspian Sea with Syria. The project serves as a logical node uniting the diverse nations of Mackinder’s world island behind a program of harmonization, integration and win-win industrial cooperation.”
“Once the economic space between Syria, Turkey, Iraq and Iran becomes integrated, we would link the Mediterranean, Caspian, Black Sea, and the [Persian] Gulf . . . we aren’t just important in the Middle East . . . Once we link these four seas, we become the unavoidable intersection of the whole world in investment, transport, and more.”
These weren’t empty words. By 2011, Assad had led delegations and signed agreements with Turkey, Romania, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon to begin the Five Seas projects.
This was done at a time when Libya’s President Qaddafi was well underway in building the Great Man-Made River, the largest water project in history alongside a coalition of nations that included Sudan, Ethiopia, and Egypt.
The stark difference between US and Chinese policy for Syria
Syria’s centuries-old relationship with China, the US nemesis in the region, and President Assad’s vision for a multipolar world providing the so called Global South with wealth and independence was a bridge too far for the US oligarchy and deep state who envisioned the world as their exclusive bread basket to be picked clean at the expense of the peoples of the nations they saw as their feeding ground.
According to an NGO established by Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban to record the human rights abuses committed by the Western-backed terrorist groups – Wathiqat Wattan Foundation:
The foreign policy of China is built on the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence – its main axioms are respect for all nation’s territorial integrity, sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs and cooperation based on mutual benefits.
China, a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has repeatedly referenced these principles when voting against Western-proposed resolutions entailing grave interventions in Syrian internal affairs.
On the 4th October 2011, Russia and China vetoed a UNSC draft resolution on Syria put forward by the US alliance. This was the first of seven vetoes by China (half of the vetoes ever cast by China at the UNSC) that not only placed essential obstacles in the path of the US/UK-led agenda but also upheld the principles of the United Nations Charter that has been corrupted by the US and other aligned member states.
According to a paper published by Wathiqat Wattan Foundation:
The BRI is a Chinese program that aims to maintain an ‘open world economic system and achieve diversified, independent, balanced and sustainable development’. It is also a Chinese proposal intended to ‘advance regional cooperation, strengthen communication between civilisations and safeguard world peace and stability’. The general thrust is towards an equitable, more inclusive, multilateral global order. It is open to all nations and does not require conformity to a fixed political or economic model. On the contrary, the initiative thrives on the diversity of nations taking part.

China can contribute to every sector with no exception, because we have damage in every sector. When we talk about the current situation before the comprehensive reconstruction process starts, China is now involved directly in implementing many projects, mainly industrial ones in Syria and we have many Chinese experts here working to set up different sectors. When there is more stability, the most important goal is to rebuild the destroyed areas. The second is the infrastructure, the sanitation systems, electricity and oil fields. The third is the industrial sector and projects, whether private or public sector.

It is worth noting that before the war was kicked off by the West in 2011, China was a primary trade partner of Syria and Syria an important market for Chinese products. In 2010 trade between the two countries was $ 2.2 billion. 99% of the trade value was in Chinese imported goods to Syria.
China has maintained a policy of assistance throughout the twelve year crisis and regular Syrian Chinese discussions on trade cooperation, investment, education, health, energy, telecommunications, transport have continued unabated.
The Assad Xi summit is a landmark one which has demonstrated to the West that they are no longer driving the agenda in the region through piracy and disproportionate military force.
There is a new dawn rising and Syria is a hub that all nations have effectively been fighting over and for – the difference is that China appears to foster dialogue, peace and development while the West is hellbent on destruction and subjugation.

We support regional countries in forming synergy, consolidating the momentum of anti-terrorism and striving to restore regional stability and order. We support countries in the region in exploring a development path suited to their national conditions and are ready to share governance experience and jointly build the Belt and Road and promote peace and stability through common development.”
Below are my segments for UK Column on the current situation in the southern districts of Syria and Assad’s visit to China.

هذا هو السؤال الذي يسأله الجميع: كيف كانت القمّة؟ ولكن، لا بدّ أولاً من تحديد المقصود من السؤال؟ وعن أي الأطراف؟ أو أي المستويات نريد أن نتحدث؟ لنبدأ من العموم. كانت القمة منظمة تنظيماً هائلاً ومحكماً؛ فكلّ الأمور تسير بانسيابية عالية، وكلّ الوفود تشعر بالاهتمام والترحيب. ورغم الأعداد الكبيرة الموجودة، لم يشعر أحد أن عليه إعادة السؤال مرتين.
ومن نافل القول إن الضيافة كانت عربية أصيلة بامتياز، وأن المضيفين استقبلوا الجميع، وتعاملوا معهم بغاية المودّة والاحترام، ولم تفارق الابتسامة وجوههم أبداً حيثما كانوا. وما يثلج الصدر أيضاً أنك تتحدث لغة عربية مع الجميع، فلا مترجمين ولا من يحزنون، وهذه ميزة وخاصة من خصائص هذه الأمة، ومن نعم الله عليها قلّ نظيرها في أمم أخرى. حتى ممثل الاتحاد الأفريقي وممثل منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي تحدثا باللغة العربية.
تشعر وأنت داخل القاعة باعتزاز كبير، ولكن بثقل المسؤولية؛ لأن لدى كل هذه الوفود عشرات من النقاط المشتركة التي لم يتمّ العمل عليها بما تستحق، ولو تمّ العمل عليها وإعطاؤها الأولوية ووضع الخطوات التنفيذية لها لكانت كفيلة بنقل هذه الأمة من حال إلى حال لتصبح قوة إقليمية ودولية يُحسب لها ألف حساب.
ولكنك تشعر بالأمل بأن تكون المتغيرات الدولية والإقليمية قد ساهمت أيضاً في خلق متغيّرات على الساحة العربية، وفي الوعي العربي وأسلوب العمل العربي. فللمرة الأولى يتم تحديد كلمات الزعماء بخمس دقائق لكلّ منهم، فلم تكن هناك لغة إنشائية، أو خطب عصماء بحيث يصاب البعض بالملل ويخرجون من القاعة، كما كانت العادة، بل كان اجتماعاً محدداً، وكانت الكلمات قصيرة مكثّفة تختلف في مستويات طروحاتها ورؤاها، ولكنها تتسم بالجدية والرغبة في مقاربة الهدف.
طبعاً، ومع هذه الاستدارة، لا يريد أحد أن يزيد من حجم التحديات أو التوقعات، وكأن هناك تفهماً غير معلن وغير مكتوب أن لكلّ بلد أولويات واعتبارات، وأن الهدف ليس أن يتخلّى أحد عن رؤاه ومصالحه، بل أن يتفهم رؤى الآخر ومصالحه، وأن يتقبل الاختلافات ويسرع الخطى في البناء على المشتركات، وهذه مقاربة واقعية واعدة إذا ما تم تعزيز هذا النهج وتعميقه في مجالات العمل العربي المشتركة، وفي اللقاءات والقمم العربية القادمة.
أما اللقاءات الثنائية، سواء على مستوى أعضاء الوفود الرسمية أو على مستوى الزعماء، فكانت تبدو وديّة، بصرف النظر عما يروّج له الإعلام الغربي والإعلام المغرض من مواقف متشددة أو معارضة لهذا الشأن أو ذاك. وبدا ذلك واضحاً في اللقاءات غير الرسمية التي سبقت انعقاد القمة، إذ كان الجميع يسلّمون على بعضهم ويتفقدون أحوال بعضهم في مفارقة كبيرة لما يروّجه الإعلام الذي يستهدفنا جميعاً من فروقات حادة بين هذا البلد وذاك، ونتيجة هذا الموقف أو هذه السياسة أو تلك. كل أعضاء الوفود تحدثوا مع بعضهم بحرارة ومودّة، ولم أرَ أحداً يعزف عن رؤية أحد أو يتهرب من اللقاء به أو الحديث معه.
وبدا لي في هذا اللقاء الذي استمرّ أقلّ من ساعة قبل الاجتماع الرسمي نبض الشعب العربي والحرص على الالتزام بقضاياه، كل قضاياه، والاعتزاز بالصامدين والمنتمين لأفكارهم وللعروبة والشاعرين بالاعتزاز والكبر في وجه محاولات الاستفراد ببلد دون آخر. وكانت فلسطين وتضحيات الشعب الفلسطيني حاضرة في وجدان الجميع وأحاديثهم، والأمل الكبير بمستقبل أفضل لليمن وليبيا، والسعادة الواضحة بوجود سوريا بين أهلها وإخوانها، وأهمية أن تكون سوريا حاضرة لما لها من تاريخ حضاري وانتماء عروبي وحرص مشهود لها على تعزيز العمل العربي المشترك.
وهنا، لا بدّ أن نتذكر أن كابوس الغرب والدول الاستعمارية يكمن في مقاربة عربية توحد الرؤى والصفوف، ولذلك ركّز الإعلام المغرض على التحديات والاختلافات، وعلى أي ثغرة يمكن له أن يدخل منها ويزيد في عمقها واتساعها. وهذا ليس جديداً لأن سياسة من يستهدف هذه الأمة قامت على قاعدة بسيطة وقديمة وهي التفريق بين أبنائها، ودبّ الشك والريبة بين صفوف مواطنيها، سواء في داخل البلد الواحد أو على مستوى الأمة.
الحقيقة هي أن القادة العرب بمعظمهم عبّروا عن سعادتهم بحضور سوريا، وأملهم أن يكون هذا اللقاء فاتحة مرحلة عمل عربي جديدة وغنية تعود بالخير على الشعب العربي في جميع أقطاره. كما تناولت اللقاءات الثنائية أهمية الاهتمام باللغة العربية؛ لغة التواصل ولغة الثقافة والمعبّرة عن هويتنا بكل أبعادها، والتحرر من الاستلاب الغربي الذي فرضه الاستعمار علينا بأساليبه وقوة إعلامه وهيمنته.
والجديد في الأمر، والذي يثلج الصدر أنه لم تظهر أي توقعات أن تكون سياسة أي بلد انعكاساً لسياسة بلد آخر، بل أن نبحث عن المصلحة المشتركة خاصة في هذا العالم الذي يتّجه ليكون عالماً متعدد الأقطاب، حيث لكل بلد عربي خياراته المستقلة التي تعكس مصالحه القطرية، ولكن مع التشديد على المشترك بين المصالح العربية، وهذا يعني التخلّص من العقلية التي حكمت العمل العربي لمراحل عديدة وهي: “إما أن نتفق معاً على كل شيء أو لا علاقة أبداً بين بلداننا”.
يحذونا الأمل أن يعني هذا اقتراب التجربة العربية من النضج، والتوصّل إلى الاستنتاج السليم والهام، وهو أن نكون أشقاء وأصدقاء مع الاحترام لوجهات نظر الآخر، والاستفادة حتى من نقاط الاختلاف والتعلّم من تجارب بعضنا بعضاً، لما فيه خيرنا جميعاً. ولا شك في أن ما حدث لسوريا والمواقف حيالها والنتائج التي تمخّضت عن كل هذا الاستهداف كان لها دور في درجة الوعي والشجاعة لدى العرب القادرين على إدارة شؤونهم، والساعين للتخلّص تماماً من الهيمنة الغربية وما تفرضه على بلداننا، استمراراً للعقلية الاستعمارية وسياسة النهب لمواردنا وثرواتنا.
ولم يكن ظهور زيلينسكي في القمة إلا محاولة فاشلة من قبل الدول الغربية التي تريد أن تثبت أنها ما زالت موجودة، بينما كان حضور سوريا الطاغي وحضور السيد الرئيس بشار الأسد واستكمال العروبة ألقها وحضورها هو الأهم في القمة، وهو الحدث الذي يُبنى عليه والعلامة الفارقة التي شدّت من أزر الجميع.
صناعة التاريخ تحتاج إلى وقت قبل وبعد انبعاث الوعي وشحذ الهمم، واليوم نستطيع أن نقول إن ما كنا نحلم به من وعي العرب لمقدراتهم واستقلالهم الحقيقي ووزنهم الإقليمي بدأ يتبلور. ومن الجميل أن تكون انطلاقته من بلد عربي له وزنه في ضمير العرب والمسلمين وله تاريخه في الإنجازات التي تتحقق حالما تشبك السعودية وسوريا يداً بيد مع كل البلدان العربية الأخرى التي تتشاطر الإدراك والعزيمة على بناء مستقبل واعد لأجيالنا القادمة يليق بأمة اختار الله عزّ وجل لغتها لرسالته السماوية، وأنتجت من العلوم ما ساهم في نهضة العالم وازدهار شعوبه في قارات الأرض المختلفة.
في هذا المسار يلعب الإعلام المنتمي والهادف دوراً هاماً في دحض الافتراءات التي لا يتوقف الإعلام المغرض عن نشرها، وفي الانتباه إلى تسليط الضوء على النقاط المضيئة من العمل العربي بثقة بالنفس والمستقبل، ويقين أن هذه الأمة قادرة على النهوض وتشكيل وزن إقليمي ودولي يحسب له حساب.

إنّ التاريخ يأخذ وقته في حياكة الأحداث إلى أن تكتمل شروط التحوّل الكبير، والذي سوف يشهده ويعاصره ويعيشه العالم لحقب، وربما لقرون.
في تناول الأحداث الصغيرة منها والكبيرة، وتحليل أسبابها واستشراف نتائجها، يُثبت الإنسان في كلّ مرّة أنّه “خُلِقَ عجولا”، وأنّه رغم هذا التاريخ الطويل نسبياً للبشرية، فهو ما زال قليل الصبر والحكمة في تفكّره واستقراءاته. وإذا بدأنا هنا من الحرب الإرهابية، التي شنّتها الدول الاستعمارية الغربية وأتباعها، على سوريا عام 2011، وقام أحدنا بالعمل المضني في استعراض تيّار الإعلام الغربي والعربي بخصوص هذه الحرب، نجد أنّ التحليلات والاستقراءات التي نُشرت بصددها، والتي ساهمت في تضليل الكثيرين تفتقر إلى الاستفادة من التاريخ، كما تفتقر إلى نعمتي الحكمة والصبر. وإذا تناولنا الحرب على اليمن بعُجالة، نجد أنّ معظم ما قيل ونُشر عن الحرب على اليمن لا علاقة له بتاريخ اليمن، ولا بصفات الشعب اليمني الأصيلة والمثبتة، ولا بالحقائق الوجودية اليوم التي يعيشها هذا الشعب، بل تنطلق بمعظمها من استهداف عزيمة وثقة هذا الشعب بنفسه، ومحاولة إلحاق الهزيمة النفسية به من خلال التهويل الإعلامي الذي هو في الحقيقة أداة من أدوات هذه الحرب على هذا الشعب الشجاع والصابر والمؤمن بالله والوطن.
بعد سنة فقط من بدء هذه العملية في أوكرانيا، يجتمع الرئيسان الروسي والصيني ليناقشا مجالات التعاون
ولكنّ المثال الأكبر، والذي أودّ أن أتوقّف عنده وأقلّبه من كلّ زواياه وجوانبه، وذلك للأثر الشديد له على مصيرنا جميعاً، ومصير البشرية للعقود القادمة، هو العملية العسكرية الروسية في أوكرانيا، والتي رغم انطلاقها من نقطة نزاع بين روسيا والغرب إلا أنّ ارتداداتها ونتائجها ذات أثر بالغ على مستقبل وشؤون الدول، وعلى مستقبل العلاقات الدولية، وعلى مستقبل الإنسان في كلّ مكان، ولن تستكمل هذه الارتدادات دورتها ونتائجها إلا بعد عقود من الآن، وسيعيش أبناؤنا وربما أحفادنا التغيرات التي أطلقتها شرارة هذه الحرب فقط لإطلاق مسار تشعّب بعد ذلك وتطوّر في الميادين المختلفة وتطوّرت أهدافه وأصبح مثل كرة الثلج لا يمكن إيقافه بمكان ولا تحديده بموضوع أو مجال معين.
بعد سنة فقط من بدء هذه العملية في أوكرانيا، يجتمع الرئيسان الروسي والصيني ليناقشا مجالات التعاون بين بلديهما في الطاقة والصناعة وتبادل السلع بالعملات المحلية، والاستثمار في مجالات لم تخطر لهم على بال قبل عام فقط، دون أن يركّزوا على العملية العسكرية الروسية في أوكرانيا، والتي ربما تشكّل اليوم هامشاً صغيراً في إطار هذه العلاقات. وبعد عام من هذه العملية توقّع الهند مع الاتحاد الروسي اتفاقاً هاماً لتصدير الطاقة من روسيا إلى الهند بأسعار تفضيلية، (الأمر ذاته تمّ توقيعه مع الصين وبالعملة المحلية؛ أي استبعاد متزايد للدولار)، الأمر الذي سينجم عنه نهوضاً ملحوظاً في السنوات القادمة للصناعة الهندية والصينية، وتعزيز قدرتهما على منافسة المنتجات الأوروبية والأميركية.
وبعد عام من هذه العملية قامت الصين وروسيا وإيران بإجراء مناورات عسكرية بحرية مشتركة لضمان سلامة وأمن الممرات المائية، الأمر الذي لم يكن يخطر لأحد على بال قبل بدء العملية العسكرية الروسية في أوكرانيا. وبعد عام من هذه العملية قامت الصين برعاية أهمّ اتفاق في هذا القرن، وبالتأكيد أهمّ اتفاق لمصير منطقة غرب أسيا والوطن العربي، وهو الاتفاق الإيراني السعودي، والذي كان مجرّد الحديث عنه قبل عامين يُعتبر ضرباً من الخيال. وبعد عام من العملية أصبحت إيران عضواً في منظمة شنغهاي، وقد قدّمت السعودية مؤخراً طلباً للانتساب إلى منظمة شنغهاي، مما يجعل هذه المنظمة أهمّ منظمة لمنتجي الطاقة: روسيا وإيران والسعودية، وسوف يكون لها رأي هام في أسعار وتوريد الطاقة عالمياً، وتتعامل دول هذه المنظمة بالعملات المحلية، مرسلةً دولار الهيمنة الأميركية إلى حتفه.
وبعد عام من هذه العملية بقي الاقتصاد الروسي منتعشاً، بل ازداد تصديره للنفط والغاز لأنه سارع إلى إيجاد أسواق بديلة عن السوق الأوروبية، وازداد الدخل الروسي من تصدير النفط والغاز عمّا كان عليه قبل العملية العسكرية في أوكرانيا، رغم كلّ العقوبات التي يُمنّي الغرب نفسه بالحديث عنها، وتضخيم آثارها المأمولة بالنسبة لهم، بينما هي فاقدة الأثر والأهمية، بل أكثر من ذلك، لقد دفعت هذه العقوبات الظالمة على الشعوب والدول تجمع دول آسيان لاتخاذ قرارات جريئة بتبادل السلع بعملاتهم المحلية كي لا يتمكّن الغرب من التلاعب بأقدارهم حين يحلو له وللأسباب التي يرتأيها. أي إنّ هذه العقوبات قد ارتدّت على الذين أصدروها بأنها أفقدت ثقة العالم بهم وبعملتهم وبنظام المدفوعات الـ “سويفت”، ودفعت الدول للتفكير ببدائل متحرّرة تماماً من التأثير الغربي. الأمر الذي ينعكس حكماً على مكانة الدولار الأسطورية، كعملة دولية، والتي كانت سبباً أساسياً لهيمنة الغرب الاستعماري على العالم وسطوته على موارده ونجاح عقوباته.
هذا في الشرق، أمّا في الغرب، فقد أرغمت الولايات المتحدة الدول الأوروبية على بتر علاقاتها مع روسيا، رغم أنّ هذه العلاقة كانت تصبّ في صالح الدول الأوروبية من خلال توفير الطاقة الرخيصة لاستخداماتها ولزراعتها ولصناعاتها. وماذا كان البديل؟ كان البديل هو أن تبيع الولايات المتحدة هذه الطاقة للدول الأوروبية بأربعة أضعاف السعر الذي كانت تكلفه هذه الطاقة من روسيا، الأمر الذي سينعكس إفقاراً لهذه الدول الأوروبية، وتخلّفاً في صناعتها وزراعتها، وعجزاً عن منافسة المنتجات الصينية والهندية والإندونيسية والبرازيلية في المستقبل القريب، الأمر الذي سيكفل خروج أوروبا من لائحة الدول المتقدّمة صناعياً، والمنافسة اقتصادياً لدول الشرق التي تمارس الحكمة والصبر في علاقاتها أولاً، وببناء عالم جديد من الإنتاج والعلاقات يزيح بحكم وجوده وقدرته على المنافسة العالم الغربي الذي تصرّف بصلف واستكبار، فوقع في شرّ ما قدّمت يداه.
هذا على الصعيد الاقتصادي والإنتاجي والمالي، أمّا على الصعيد الأخلاقي والإنساني، فقد سقط الغرب سقوطاً مدوّياً في براثن الليبرالية الحديثة سيئة الصيت، وأخذت الإنسانية تعمل على حماية نفسها من تأثيرات الغرب القميئة على مستقبل أجيالها. ولكلّ هذا أقول لمن ما زال يؤمن بقوّة الغرب وحكمته، وأنه لا يُقهر وأنه الأنموذج والمثل، إنّ التاريخ يتشكّل ليبرهن عكس ذلك تماماً، ولكنّ التاريخ ليس عجولاً، بل يأخذ وقته في حياكة الأحداث إلى أن تكتمل شروط التحوّل الكبير، والذي سوف يشهده ويعاصره ويعيشه العالم لحقب، وربما لقرون بعد الإيذان بهذا التحوّل من خلال شرارة أطلقت في مكان ما ثمّ أخذت الأحداث مسارها ومجالاتها وتوقيتها بغضّ النظر عن مصير تلك الشرارة، وبشكل أكبر وأهمّ وأدهى مما يتخيّله كثيرون.

At Russia’s Valdai Club meeting – the east’s answer to Davos – intellectuals and influencers gathered to frame West Asia’s current and future developments.

The 12th “Middle East Conference” at the Valdai Club in Moscow offered a more than welcome cornucopia of views on interconnected troubles and tribulations affecting the region.
But first, an important word on terminology – as only one of Valdai’s guests took the trouble to stress. This is not the “Middle East” – a reductionist, Orientalist notion devised by old colonials: at The Cradle we emphasize the region must be correctly described as West Asia.
Some of the region’s trials and tribulations have been mapped by the official Valdai report, The Middle East and The Future of Polycentric World. But the intellectual and political clout of those in attendance can provide valuable anecdotal insights too. Here are a few of the major strands participants highlighted on regional developments, current and future:
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov set the stage by stressing that Kremlin policy encourages the formation of an “inclusive regional security system.” That’s exactly what the Americans refused to discuss with the Russians in December 2021, then applied to Europe and the post-Soviet space. The result was a proxy war.
Kayhan Barzegar of Islamic Azad University in Iran qualified the two major strategic developments affecting West Asia: a possible US retreat and a message to regional allies: “You cannot count on our security guarantees.”
Every vector – from rivalry in the South Caucasus to the Israeli normalization with the Persian Gulf – is subordinated to this logic, notes Barzegar, with quite a few Arab actors finally understanding that there now exists a margin of maneuver to choose between the western or the non-western bloc.
Barzegar does not identify Iran-Russia ties as a strategic alliance, but rather a geopolitical, economic bloc based on technology and regional supply chains – a “new algorithm in politics” – ranging from weapons deals to nuclear and energy cooperation, driven by Moscow’s revived southern and eastward orientations. And as far as Iran-western relations go, Barzegar still believes the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), or Iran nuclear deal, is not dead. A least not yet.
‘Nobody knows what these rules are’
Egyptian Ramzy Ramzy, until 2019 the UN Deputy Special Envoy for Syria, considers the reactivation of relations between Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE with Syria as the most important realignment underway in the region. Not to mention prospects for a Damascus-Ankara reconciliation. “Why is this happening? Because of the regional security system’s dissatisfaction with the present,” Ramzy explains.
Yet even if the US may be drifting away, “neither Russia nor China are willing to take up a leadership role,” he says. At the same time, Syria “cannot be allowed to fall prey to outside interventions. The earthquake at least accelerated these rapprochements.”
Bouthaina Shaaban, a special advisor to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, is a remarkable woman, fiery and candid. Her presence at Valdai was nothing short of electric. She stressed how “since the US war in Vietnam, we lost what we witnessed as free media. The free press has died.” At the same time “the colonial west changed its methods,” subcontracting wars and relying on local fifth columnists.
Shaaban volunteered the best short definition anywhere of the “rules-based international order”: “Nobody knows what these rules are, and what this order is.”
She re-emphasized that in this post-globalization period that is ushering in regional blocs, the usual western meddlers prefer to use non-state actors – as in Syria and Iran – “mandating locals to do what the US would like to do.”
A crucial example is the US al-Tanf military base that occupies sovereign Syrian territory on two critical borders. Shaaban calls the establishment of this base as “strategic, for the US to prevent regional cooperation, at the Iraq, Jordan, and Syria crossroads.” Washington knows full well what it is doing: unhampered trade and transportation at the Syria-Iraq border is a major lifeline for the Syrian economy.
Reminding everyone once again that “all political issues are connected to Palestine,” Shaaban also offered a healthy dose of gloomy realism: “The eastern bloc has not been able to match the western narrative.”
A ‘double-layered proxy war’
Cagri Erhan, rector of Altinbas University in Turkey, offered a quite handy definition of a Hegemon: the one who controls the lingua franca, the currency, the legal setting, and the trade routes.
Erhan qualifies the current western hegemonic state of play as “double-layered proxy war” against, of course, Russia and China. The Russians have been defined by the US as an “open enemy” – a major threat. And when it comes to West Asia, proxy war still rules: “So the US is not retreating,” says Erhan. Washington will always consider using the area “strategically against emerging powers.”
Then what about the foreign policy priorities of key West Asian and North African actors?
Algerian political journalist Akram Kharief, editor of the online MenaDefense, insists Russia should get closer to Algeria, “which is still in the French sphere of influence,” and be wary of how the Americans are trying to portray Moscow as “a new imperial threat to Africa.”
Professor Hasan Unal of Maltepe University in Turkiye made it quite clear how Ankara finally “got rid of its Middle East [West Asian] entanglements,” when it was previously “turning against everybody.”
Mid-sized powers such as Turkiye, Iran, and Saudi Arabia are now stepping to the forefront of the region’s political stage. Unal notes how “Turkiye and the US don’t see eye to eye on any issue important to Ankara.” Which certainly explains the strengthening of Turkish-Russian ties – and their mutual interest in introducing “multi-faceted solutions” to the region’s problems.
For one, Russia is actively mediating Turkiye-Syria rapprochement. Unal confirmed that the Syrian and Turkish foreign ministers will soon meet in person – in Moscow – which will represent the highest-ranking direct engagement between the two nations since the onset of the Syrian war. And that will pave the way for a tripartite summit between Assad, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Note that the big regional reconciliations are being held – once again – either in, or with the participation of Moscow, which can rightfully be described as the capital of the 21st century multipolar world.
When it comes to Cyprus, Unal notes how “Russia would not be interested in a unified state that would be EU and NATO territory.” So it’s time for “creative ideas: as Turkey is changing its Syria policy, Russia should change its Cyprus policy.”
Dr. Gong Jiong, from the Israeli campus of China’s University of International Business and Economics, came up with a catchy neologism: the “coalition of the unwilling” – describing how “almost the whole Global South is not supporting sanctions on Russia,” and certainly none of the players in West Asia.
Gong noted that as much as China-Russia trade is rising fast – partly as a direct consequence of western sanctions – the Americans would have to think twice about China-hit sanctions. Russia-China trade stands at $200 billion a year, after all, while US-China trade is a whopping $700 billion per annum.
The pressure on the “neutrality camp” won’t relent anyway. What is needed by the world’s “silent majority,” as Gong defines it, is “an alliance.” He describes the 12-point Chinese peace plan for Ukraine as “a set of principles” – Beijing’s base for serious negotiations: “This is the first step.”
There will be no new Yalta
What the Valdai debates made crystal clear, once again, is how Russia is the only actor capable of approaching every player across West Asia, and be listened to carefully and respectfully.
It was left to Anwar Abdul-Hadi, director of the political department of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and the latter’s official envoy to Damascus, to arguably sum up what led to the current global geopolitical predicament: “A new Yalta or a new world war? They [the west] chose war.”
And still, as new geopolitical and geoeconomic fault lines keep emerging, it is as though West Asia is anticipating something “big” coming ahead. That feeling was palpable in the air at Valdai.
To paraphrase Yeats, and updating him to the young, turbulent 21st century, “what rough beast, its hour come out at last, slouches towards the cradle [of civilization] to be born?

The wars we are witnessing, whether the military war in Ukraine, or soft wars in the China Sea, or cultural wars in what Neo-Liberalism is distorting and charting for humanity, are all manifestations of a strong opposition by the West to the establishment of this multipolar world.
The core problem humanity is facing nowadays can be summed up as follows:
There is no political or moral leader to this world, as the strongest militarily and financially are pursuing additional military and financial powers, and the system that was produced by the Second World War and established by the agreement of so many countries, is truly collapsing, with no alternative yet in place. The BRICS countries, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and many Asian countries are trying to establish a multipolar system in the world, where no opinion can have an absolute veto over the will of so many countries.
The wars we are witnessing, whether the military war in Ukraine, or soft wars in the China Sea, or cultural wars in what Neo-Liberalism is distorting and charting for humanity, are all manifestations of a strong opposition by the West to the establishment of this multipolar world. While Russia, Iran, India, Latin America, and Africa are trying their best to get rid of the hegemony of the Dollar, the hegemony of NATO’s will, the hegemony of the West that had been looting resources from all over the world over decades, the West is absolutely desperate to establish new alliances through which it may prevent the birth of this multipolar system.
From this very perspective, we can understand the persistent efforts the US is exerting with Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, and Taiwan to establish an alliance in the China Sea to threaten China and prevent whatever steps China wants to make in order to ensure the dawn of a multipolar system. The efforts of the US, and what they called an “echo alliance” with Australia and Canada can also be understood in the same context, in order to frighten China from any serious effort in aligning with other countries who might subvert the hegemony of the West in the world.
From the same perspective, we can understand the current competition in Africa between China, Russia, and the old colonialists: France and the United States, and of course the West is not interested in the rise or equality or prosperity of the Africans. All the West is interested in is what these countries have, how they can loot gold and other precious minerals, and how they can loot this wealth without paying anything in return in order to support their economies and build their countries at the expense of the lives and prosperity of Africans.
Latin America is no exception as well. While Chávez, Lula da Silva and other nationalist leaders tried and succeeded in shaking the fetters of the US off their countries, the United States is intensifying its efforts in Latin America to prevent the liberation of the will of all Latin American countries that had been considered for decades as the backyard of the United States.
As for our region, the Middle East, the United States has lately, or last year, added “Israel”, the Zionist entity, as a member of CENTCOM for the first time in history, which means that the US has appointed “Israel” as its military representative in the region in order to do what it sees fit so as to preserve the hegemony of the US, and extend Zionist hegemony over the will of the Arab and Iranian people in the Arab World and Iran. The issue here is not traditional: the Zionist entity is not launching wars on the border with its army and its tanks and airplanes; it is launching intelligence wars inside countries in an attempt to change the political systems in these countries, and turn them into satellite states that echo the will of the Israelis, and by default the will of the Americans and the West.
This, in essence, was the reason for the terrorist war that has been launched against the Syrian people for the last 12 years. This in essence is the reason why NATO countries destroyed Libya and betrayed Russia (and, in fact, did not fulfill their promise to Russia that it was going to be part of their alliance). The result is that Libyan oil is being divided between Italy, France, and the United States; it has been looted by these countries, while the Libyan people remain impoverished, scattered, and unable to secure their subsistence.
This, again, is what has been happening in Iran since last year. “Israel”, the Zionist entity, is using its intelligence to recruit Iranians and others probably, who will be its agents to fulfill its agenda in Iran, without launching a traditional war, and it is within this context that we can observe what is happening in Iran of claims about women’s freedom or other democratic appeals or whatever. If the Israelis and the Americans believe in freedom for women and women’s rights, then tell me what is happening to the 29 Palestinian women prisoners who are being harassed and subjugated in Israeli jails, in an unprecedented way crackdown on women.
The Israeli entity is the most racist occupation in history after South Africa. It is killing Palestinians Point Blank, it is destroying their houses, robbing their property, looting their lands, and perpetrating the worst crimes humanity is witnessing nowadays. Yet “Israel” is the partner of the West in trying to subjugate other countries and undermine the free will of any government and any person that refuses to be an agent of this power that is only interested in military industry, and accumulating more wealth, and bringing more money to the wealthiest in the world who made their wealth by looting other people and other countries.
Hence it is the duty of every truly free person to stand fast and firm against this horrifying process of the West to try and control the will of other countries. And from this perspective, I can certainly say that the war Russia is fighting in Ukraine against NATO is not only a Russian war; it is a world war, and it is not fair to let Russian soldiers and Russian people fight on their own in a war that the entire humanity needs to fight.
NATO has imposed this war on Russia, and it is desperate to defeat Russia in order to terrify any country that may think of standing up against Western hegemony. Russia is leading the way for a different world, and many Western leaders have announced that they are sending trillions of dollars and armaments in order to prevent Russian victory. Russian victory would mean Western defeat, and Western defeat would mean the end of Western hegemony over the world. This is what the West cannot afford, and this is why the West considers this war an existential war. In fact, it is a war for everyone in the world but for reasons different from those of the West.
في كثير من الأحيان أتساءل ما هو منشأ بعض العادات في مجتمعاتنا التي اكتسبت صبغة القدسيّة مع أنها لا تمتّ للدين بصلة، بل على العكس هناك ما يناقض الدين كثيراً من هذه الموروثات التي تناقلتها الأجيال بشكل أساسيّ لانعدام الجرأة في طرح الأسئلة العميقة والجوهريّة والتي يخشى طرحها الكثيرون، ولنبدأ على سبيل المثال لا الحصر من موقع كبير السنّ في الأسرة، ووقع رأيه على الأصغر منه؛ حيث يسود الاعتقاد أنه يجب إطاعة كبير السنّ، ولا يجوز أبداً لمن هو أصغر منه سنّاً أن يشكّ في قدرته وقيادته، ولكنّ سيدنا إبراهيم عليه السلام أخذ موقفاً حاسماً ضدّ أبيه الذي كان يعبد الأصنام، وحاول أن يهديه إلى طريق الحقّ، وهذه بالطبع ليست دعوة للتمرّد على من هم أكبر سنّاً، ولكنها دعوة للوقوف مع الحقّ ومع الصّح حتى وإن تطلّب هذا جفاء مع ذوي قربى.
«يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ ولَوْ عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ أو الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَالأَقْرَبِينَ»، أي إنّ العدل والحقّ أهمّ من صلة القربى والوفاء لهم، بينما نلاحظ أنّ العصبية الأسريّة أو القبلية تضرب بالحقّ عرض الحائط تحزّباً لذوي القربى وانتصاراً لهم وإن كانوا على باطل، مع أنّ أسرة يوسف، عليه السلام، أظهرت بشكل جليّ أنّ الإخوة قد يكيدوا لأخيهم: «قَالَ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تَقْصُصْ رُؤْيَاكَ عَلَىٰ إِخْوَتِكَ فَيَكِيدُوا لَكَ كَيْداً».
كما نلاحظ أنّ الناس تسعى جاهدة، وأحياناً ترتكب المعاصي من أجل تكديس الثروات لأولادهم، مع أنّ الله عزّ وجلّ قال: «إِنَّ مِنْ أَزْوَاجِكُمْ وَأَوْلَادِكُمْ عَدُواً لَّكُمْ فَاحْذَرُوهُمْ»، وقال في آية أخرى: «إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَأَوْلَادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ»، ومع هذا فالعرف والعادة هو العمل المستميت من أجل ضمان مصلحة الأولاد حتى بعد رحيل الأبوين عن هذه الدار.
ولكن، ومما يشغل بالي أحياناً هو من أين أتت كلّ المسؤوليات الخدميّة المترتّبة على المرأة إذا كان الله عزّ وجلّ قال: «فإِنْ أَرْضَعْنَ لَكُمْ فَآتُوهُنَّ أُجُورَهُنَّ وَأْتَمِرُوا بَيْنَكُم بِمَعْرُوفٍ وَإِن تَعَاسَرْتُمْ فَسَتُرْضِعُ لَهُ أُخْرَى»، إذا كانت المرأة ليست مجبرة بحكم الدين على إرضاع ولدها، بل يجب أن يُدفع لها أجر إذا أرضعته، فمن أين أُلصقت كلّ هذه المهام الخدميّة بالمرأة، والتي تستهلك وقتها وعمرها ولا تنال عليها جزاء ولا شكوراً، بل تعتبر جزءاً لا يتجزّأ من المهام الملقاة عليها بحكم طبيعتها وكونها زوجاً وأمّاً وأختاً وبنتاً.
غير أنّ المفهوم الذي أحدث أكبر الضّرر بأداء المسلمين في دولهم المتعدّدة هو مفهوم الكثرة والقلّة، والخلط بين مفهومي المساواة والعدالة، دون التركيز على الاستخدام الصحيح والمعنى الدقيق لكلّ منهما، حيث ما زال معظم الناس يعتقدون أنّ الحقّ دائماً مع الكثرة، مع أنّ سور وآيات القرآن الكريم عامرة بامتداح القلّة وذمّ الكثرة: «وَإِن تُطِعْ أَكْثَرَ مَن فِي الْأَرْضِ يُضِلُّوكَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ»، «فَأَبَى أَكْثَرُ النَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُوراً»، «وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ»، «كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّشْرِكِين»، «بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون»، في المقابل نجد أنّ القلّة استحقّت المدح الإلهي لأنها التعبير الصادق عن رفض الانجرار وراء الأكثرية التي توهّمت أنّ كثرتها تجعلها محقّة فيما هي عليه من الاعتقاد، أو أنها طريق النّصر: «وما آمن معه إلّا قليل»، و«قليل من عباديَ الشَّكوْر»، وإذا أردنا أن نترجم هذه اللغة إلى لغة الحداثة نقول إنّ النخبة العارفة العالمة يجب أن تكون محطّ تقدير ومديح، وليست الأكثرية التي تعتبر كثرتها مبرّراً لها أن تكون محقّة، وإذا ما تفكّرنا بهذا المفهوم نجد أنّ الدول التي بنت مجداً وحقّقت تطوّراً فعلت ذلك من خلال اعتمادها على النخبة في الهند والصين والغرب بحيث يتمّ إيلاء معظم الاهتمام للنخبة الكفوءة القادرة والتي تتمتّع بكل التسهيلات فتُحدث تقدماً وتطوّراً.
أمّا البلدان التي لا تولي أهمية تذكر للتمييز بين الذين يعلمون والذين لا يعلمون، فنجدها تسير كالسلحفاة في المسار البشريّ، ولا تُحدث التطوّر أو القفزات التنموية المأمولة، فرغم الفقر والمشاكل الحياتية في الهند، تمكّنت النخبة الهندية من بناء دولة قويّة متطوّرة يُحسب لها حساب، كما عملت الصين على إعمال حكم النخبة من خلال الحزب الشيوعي الصينيّ الذي يعتبر قلّة قليلة؛ مئة مليون من أصل مليار ونصف المليار، والفاعلون به هم بضعة ملايين الذين يخطّطون لمستقبل البلاد، ويعملون على تحقيق تطوّرها وازدهارها، ناهيك عن القول إنّ الغرب قد طوّر، وعلى مدى عقود، نُخباً سياسية وفكرية وعقائدية، وهي التي تدير شؤون البلاد فعلياً بغضّ النظر عن ادّعاء الديمقراطية والتخفّي وراء مقولات حكم الأكثرية التي لم تحكم يوماً أيّ بلد من هذه البلدان.
وهنا يكمن الفرق بين مفهومي المساواة والعدالة، هذا المفهوم الذي يتعرّض للتشويه وإساءة الاستخدام؛ إذ لا يمكن أن نقول إنّ البشر متساوون لأنّ الله سبحانه وتعالى خلقهم بإمكانات ومقدرات مختلفة، وهم عملوا أيضاً بطرائق مختلفة، فكيف يمكن أن يكونوا متساوين؟! إذاً المطلوب ليس المساواة بين البشر، بل تحقيق العدالة بينهم وأن ينال كلّ منهم ما يستحقّ بناءً على قدرته وجهده. أي إنّ العدالة تكمن في تكافؤ الفرص، وليس في أن «يستوي الأعمى والبَصير»، والمنطق ذاته ينسحب على من ادّعوا حمل لواء تحرّر المرأة في الغرب في سبعينيات القرن الماضي، وطالبوا بالمساواة مع الرجال، فإذا كان الله عزّ وجل قد خلق كائنين مختلفين ليكمّل أحدهما الآخر من أجل إعمار هذا الكون، فكيف يمكن تجاهل الطبيعة البشرية الضرورية لاستمرار الخلق؟!
المطلوب هنا حقّاً هو العدالة وتكافؤ الفرص، وأن يأخذ كلّ إنسان، رجلاً كان أم امرأة، في الحياة الفرصة التي يستحقّها في العلم والعمل والحياة، والدليل الأهمّ على نفاق الغرب وقصوره في هذا المجال هو أنّه ترك مسؤولية الأسرة على عاتق المرأة، وقال لها أنت حرّة أن تبدعي، كيف يمكن أن تبدع وكاهلها مثقل بتربية الأولاد ومسؤولية العائلة، ولم يوفّر لها الفرص الخدمية التي تمكّنها فعلاً من تحقيق ذاتها والتميّز في مهنتها، بينما قامت الصين بتوفير كلّ الظروف للمرأة الأمّ واستوعبت الأطفال في حضانات ورياض أطفال كي تتمكّن المرأة من متابعة مسيرتها المهنية.
وأنا أتفكّر بكلّ هذه المعاني والموروثات، أشعر وكأننا نقول «وجدنا آباءنا لها عابدين»، أو ليس من واجبنا الدينيّ والفكريّ والأخلاقيّ والإنسانيّ أن نتوقّف مع الموروثات، ونتساءل عن جدواها وصحّتها ودورها السلبي أو الإيجابي، والتصحيح الذي يجب أن تخضع له وفق حاجات وتطلّعات مجتمعاتنا المعاصرة.
هؤلاء الذين يضحّون بأنفسهم ليصنعوا تاريخ بلدانهم المشرّف ينتظرون على الأقلّ أن ننصفهم ونسجّل ونوثّق ما حدث وألّا نسمح للأعداء أن يصادروا حقيقة ما جرى.
مــعــارك السّرديّات
تشعر وأنت تقرأ مقال توماس فريدمان في جريدة نيويورك تايمز، بتاريخ 15/12/2022 أنّك كنت غائباً عن هذا العالم أو نائماً نومة أهل الكهف، وأنّ هذا المقال يفتح عينيك على كلّ ما يجب أن تعرفه عن آخر الأحداث في فلسطين، وإن كان عنوان مقاله: «ماذا في العالم يحدث في “إسرائيل”»؛ أي أنّه ومن العنوان لم يعترف بفلسطين ولا بالحقّ الفلسطينيّ، وكي يزيد ثقتك بأنّ هذا هو النصّ الوحيد الذي عليك أن تقرأه كي تفهم القصّة المعقّدة لما يجري في فلسطين المحتلّة، أضاف إلى العنوان المضلِّل عنواناً فرعياً، وهو أنّه تمّ تحديث هذا المقال كي يأخذ بعين الاعتبار تطوّرات الأخبار.
وقد نفى في بداية المقال إمكانية حلّ الدولتين، الذي أصبح شبه مستحيل، ولكن مخيلته جادت بحلول قد توهم غير المهتمّين حقيقةً والمتابعين للشأن الفلسطينيّ بدقّة بحرصه على حل هذه “المسألة” على أسس إنسانية وواقعيّة ولمصلحة الطرفين “المتخاصمين”، وبعض القواعد التي استند إليها للتوصّل إلى حلوله المقترحة المتخيَّلة هي أنّ المجتمعين الفلسطينيّ و”الإسرائيلي”، ورغم بعض الأحداث، قد عاشا في حالة من التوازن منذ اتفاقيات أوسلو عام 1993، والشكر يعود للاقتحامات “الإسرائيلية”، وعمل السلطة الفلسطينية، والنموّ الاقتصادي، ومجموعة كبيرة من المهادنات “وضبط النفس” التي قامت بها جميع الأطراف.
ولإعطاء روايته مصداقية، يشير إلى إحصائية «منظّمة بتسليم الإسرائيلية» أنّه في العام الماضي “مات 20 إسرائيلياً”، و”150” فلسطينياً في أحداث عنف. لقد أعلنت منظّمات حقوق الإنسان التابعة للأمم المتحدة ومهتمون كثر أنّ عام 2022 كان الأعنف الذي أعدمت فيه مخابرات وجنود الكيان الصهيونيّ رقماً قياسياً من المدنيين الفلسطينيين، وخاصّة الشباب والأطفال، والذي هو الأعلى منذ عقود. وأيضاً، وفي محاولة تضليلية أخرى، يعتبر الأقصى أيضاً مهمّاً للمسلمين، العبارة التي توحي أنّ أهميته الأولى هي للطرف الآخر، وأنّ الإرهابي العنصريّ بن غفير محقّ فيما يقوم به، مع أنّ جنوده العنصريين رفعوا شعار “طلقة واحدة يجب أن تقتل، من دون أسف، نحن أصحاب القرار”.
ثمّ يروي للقارئ كيف أنّ عدداً من الإسرائيليين اليساريين ذهبوا لدعم الفلسطينيين في مواجهة اليمين المتطرّف، الذي أصبح الجزّار بن غفير الإرهابي قائداً رسمياً له، وأنّ “القضاء” الصهيونيّ قد حكم على الجندي الذي قتل فلسطينياً بالسجن ثلاثة أشهر، ليقنع القارئ أنّ هذا الكيان يطبّق “القانون” وإلى ما هنالك من سرديات مضلّلة هدفها الأساس هو الدعاية لتغطية جرائم هذا الكيان الصهيوني العنصريّ، وتشوّيه أصول الحقّ الفلسطينيّ، وتبرير الجرائم التي تُرتكب بحقّ هذا الشعب يومياً من قبل قوات نظام الأبارثايد الصهيوني، والتي يجب أن يندى لها جبين أيّ إنسان، وهو يتفادى ذكر جرائم الأبارثايد الصهيوني في تدمير القرى الفلسطينية لمرّات من قبل قوّات الكيان العنصريّ، فيقول فريدمان إنّ المجتمعات “البدوية” والمدارس العامة في الجنوب قد عانت من بعض الإهمال.
السبب في أنني أتناول هذا المقال المسيء جداً للحقّ الفلسطيني والحقّ العربي، والمشوِّه لحقيقة الإجرام العنصري الذي يتمّ ارتكابه من قبل العصابات الصهيونية في الاستيلاء على الأرض، وقتل الشباب الفلسطيني بدم بارد، واقتطاع عقود من عمر شباب وشابات في الأسر، هو أنّ مثل هذه السرديات لا تهدف فقط إلى تشويه الحاضر في أذهان القرّاء، وإنما تهدف أيضاً إلى تثبيت سرديات تاريخية في أذهان الأجيال القادمة، فتكون مثل هذه المواد متاحة للباحثين والكتاب المهتمين بهذا الشأن، وتصبح المستند الذي يبنون عليه استنتاجاتهم البحثية، وينالون شهادات الماجستير والدكتوراه في إعدام آخر ليس فقط للشباب الفلسطينيّ، وإنما لحقّ أبنائهم في محاكمة القتلة واسترداد حقوقهم ولو بعد حين.
وكمثال قريب لم يمضِ عليه زمن، فقد تداول بعض القرّاء مؤخراً مقالاً نشرته مجلّة النيويورك تايمز عام 2016، وأفردت له مساحة كاملة بعنوان: «الأرض المتصدّعة: كيف تُمزّق العالم العربي». وتصدّر هذا النصّ مقدمة من قبل رئيس تحرير المجلة جيك سيلفرستون، أشار فيها إلى عدد المراسلين من دول مختلفة الذين ساهموا في إنتاج هذا النصّ، والمصوّرين، وحرصهم على أن يقولوا حقيقة ما حدث، واعتذارهم عن طول النصّ الذي تمّ تكريس عدد المجلة كاملاً له في 2016، ويركّز على حياة أناس من دول مختلفة، وكيف أنّ هذا الغزو الأميركي الغاشم للعراق قد غيّر حياة كثيرين، وأنهى حياة أكثر من مليون عراقي.
ومع أنّ البعض محقّ في القول، إنّهم على الأقلّ يعترفون بما فعلوه ولو بعد حين، ولكن لا بدّ من ذكر أمرين اثنين هنا: أولاً أنّ اعتراف مجلّة أميركية معادية للعرب ببعض من كارثة دمويّة غير مبرّرة حلّت ببلد غني عريق مثل العراق، لن يغنيَ أهله عن شيء، وخاصّة أنّ الاستهداف مستمرّ على المستوى السياسيّ، وأنّه من الممنوع على العراق حتى اليوم أن يتواءم مع جارته سوريا على سبيل المثال، أو أن يخرج من العباءة الطائفية التي خطّها بريمر لمستقبل العراق والعراقيين.
ولكن الأمر الآخر والأهمّ هو أين هي الرواية الدقيقة الكاملة لما حدث في العراق، والتي تمّ توثيقها من قبل مرجعيّة عربية تعلم علم اليقين أبعاد ما حلّ بالعراق، وتلقي ضوءاً على ما كان للعراق والشعب العراقيّ من خير وثروات وقوّة اقتصادية وفكرية. ولا شكّ أنّ تدمير هذه البنية كلّها لم يكن ضرورياً حتى لتغيير نظام سياسيّ، مع أنّ هذا ليس من مسؤولية الولايات المتحدة التي تذرّعت بذرائع كاذبة لغزو العراق، والذي لم يذكره مثل هذا الاستقصاء الذي لاقى المديح حتى من كتاب ومثقفين.
لقد اعتبروا أنّه دلالة على الإعلام الحرّ، وأنّ الآخرين يكتبون ويعترفون بأخطائهم ولكنَّ الولايات المتحدة اليوم، ومنذ غزو العراق، تنهب نفط العراق، وتمنع أيّ استقرار سياسي في العراق كي لا تعود ثروات هذا البلد ليد أبنائه، ولخدمة ورفاه شعبه. أي أنهم يذكرون بعض ما حدث من دون كشف الغطاء عن جوهر ومنطلق وهدف العملية برمّتها.
الاستنتاج من كلا البحثين اللذين تمّ الترويج لهما في بلداننا العربية هو أنّه لا يجوز ولا بأيّ شكل أو منطق أن تقرأ تاريخك بأقلام وأعين أعدائك، وأنّ من أول واجبات أصحاب القضية، أيّ قضية، ليس فقط أن يدافعوا عنها، وإنما أن يخطّوا سردياتها بأقلامهم هم، وأن يسجّلوا تاريخها للأجيال القادمة احتراماً وإنصافاً لمن ضحّوا من أجلها، وحرصاً على أن تأخذ الأجيال القادمة حقّها في الثّأر لآبائها وأجدادها، أو في تصويب المسار والسمعة والسردية التي قد يجود بها المؤمنون بخدمة أهدافهم الاستعمارية المعادية للعرب.
لقد ناضلت كلّ دولنا العربية لنيل استقلالها من المحتلّ الاستعماري لكنّها لم تولِ تسجيل الأحداث الأهمية التي تستحقّها وما زال هذا النقص قائماً في ثقافتنا، وهو نقص خطير يؤثّر ليس فقط على المرجعية المستقبلية، وإنما على المرجعية الراهنة، وحتى على سير المعارك إذا كان الصراع ما زال قائماً كما هو الحال في الشأن الفلسطيني وشؤون أخرى في الواقع العربي بحاجة ماسّة إلى تخصيص موارد لدعم إحقاق الحقوق إعلامياً وتاريخياً وفكرياً.
هؤلاء الذين يضحّون بأنفسهم ليصنعوا تاريخ بلدانهم المشرّف ينتظرون على الأقلّ أن ننصفهم ونسجّل ونوثّق ما حدث وألّا نسمح للأعداء أن يصادروا حقيقة ما جرى، ويسجّلوا الوثيقة التي تخدم أهدافهم، وتبخس نضالنا وتضحياتنا ودماء أبنائنا المؤمنين بأوطانهم والصادقين.

The inclusive world and the prosperous world the US talks about in its strategy is the world of its coalitions and partners and not the entire human world as we know it.
Whether it is planned or a mere coincidence, it was interesting to read the American National Security Strategy issued by the White House in October 2022 and to follow at the same time the speeches and steps taken by the Chinese Communist Party at the 20th Congress convened in Beijing on 16-22 October. Starting from the title, we only read “National Security Strategy” on the American document, while what we read in Beijing’s case stipulates the vision of global partnership in a new era of Global Development.
The US is, or appears to be, concerned about its own security and the security of its allies who share its vision: mainly western countries or satellite states. The way they perceive maintaining this security is to keep the rest of the world either under their hegemony or contained within their borders and never daring to get close to international resources tapped only by the West through its hegemony or occupation of other countries. When it comes to American global priorities, things are defined by outcompeting China and constraining Russia. This explains that the inclusive world and the prosperous world they talked about earlier in the strategy is the world of their coalitions and partners and not the entire human world as we know it.
Here lies the crucial difference between the Western vision presented by the United States and the vision desired by the rest of the world, presented by China and its leader Xi Jinping on more than one occasion. The difference is that the West sees in its partners and subjugates the entire world. They see themselves as the whole world as if other countries, peoples, and visions that do not agree with theirs are non-existent. This is certainly the core of the countries with a colonial mentality that occupied so many countries on earth under the pretext that they are there to civilize them while in fact, they were eroding some of the most ancient and richest civilizations and depriving humanity of a very rich cultural, spiritual, and human heritage.
The core of the American strategy is competition not cooperation, and it is based on dividing the world into democracies and autocracies. Any system that is considered a partner or a friend to Western systems is considered “democratic” and any system that rejects Western hegemony or the western example and decides to build a system based on its own cultural and historical values and civilization is considered “autocratic”. The democratic systems even include well-known autocratic regimes and even racist powers of occupation such as the Zionist entity occupying Palestine.
For those who are happy that this new American strategy stated that “they will not use their army to change regimes or reformulate societies,” I say this was announced in the American strategy in 1997 in a concept paper produced by a number of think tanks titled “A Clean Break; a New Strategy for Conducting the Realm,” but what was the alternative to using American armies in changing political systems? The alternative was “colorful revolutions” led by their allies and partners in the targeted countries. Here is what they state on page 16 of the National Security Strategy October 2022:
“The United States’ unrivaled network of allies and partners protects and advances our interests around the world. Building on this network, we will assemble the strongest possible coalitions to advance and defend a world that is free, open, prosperous, and secure. These coalitions will include all nations that share these objectives.”
What they mean here are either partners (though even those like Europe today are paying a heavy price to American hegemony) or satellite states run by their agents who believe in the superiority of the Western Hemisphere.
If we take for the sake of comparison quotes from speeches given by Xi Jinping or strategic plans and visions put for the 20th Congress of the Chinese Communist Party or for the “conference on a New Era of Global Development,” we find that Beijing speaks about a vision that addressed the global community, taking the Chinese experience in eradicating poverty and achieving prosperity for the Chinese people as an example to transcend to other countries across the world that Beijing always refers to as partners and equals in rights and integrity without ever dividing the world into West and East and insinuating the idea of superior and inferior.
Beijing speaks about a truly free world in which there is no place for Apartheid walls and fences built on the confiscated land of the indigenous people; a world imbued with true cooperation among all nations, not a world where a certain number of countries impose random sanctions on other people against all human and international laws; a world based not on division, confrontation, and competition, but a world based on an ancient faith in humanity, all humanity and a real urge to “promote global development and foster a development paradigm featuring benefits for all, balance, coordination, inclusiveness, win-win cooperation and common prosperity; a world that is not based on the vague and strange invention of the phrase “Rules-based Order” that no one knows what it means, but a world in which “the North and the South need to work in the same direction to forge a united, equal, balanced and inclusive global development partnership in which no country or individual should be left behind.”
In comparison with Western countries who hastened to send billions of dollars to feed the war in Ukraine, which is destroying the Ukrainian people and posing a real threat to world peace, China has allocated 4 billion dollars to upgrade the South-South cooperation fund and deepen global cooperation on poverty reduction and eradication. The narrative Beijing uses is all-inclusive of every country and of every person in the world, while Western narratives always divide the world into Western, meaning superior, and others, meaning inferior. Xi Jinping is inspired by the Chinese ancient, peaceful, and truly inclusive Chinese civilization where the Chinese adage goes by, “with one heart and one mind, we can accomplish everything we aspire for.” This is exactly what the entire humanity aspires for and badly needs at this dangerous juncture of human history.
What we are witnessing today is a natural reaction to the level to which Western systems and Western media have used ordinary people and their lives, their well-being, and even their subsistence in order to launch wars.
When the General Assembly was in session, the Italian elections came to prove that the Western rhetoric at the UN, especially that of Joe Biden and Liz Truss, has nothing to do with the reality and aspirations of their people.
Western rhetoric tried to show that the West is absolutely united and that the path they are treading is the one that their people want and are determined to tread. However, the Italian elections, preceded by elections in other European countries, proved that Western officials are in one place, and their people, who they are supposed to represent, are in a totally different place.
A lot of narratives and counter-narratives will prevail in the following weeks about the ascent of the right in Europe. Of course, the ruling oligarchy is trying to describe the right as the far right, the extreme right, perhaps verging on calling the right the terrorist right in an attempt to frighten people from the rise of right movements in Europe. These are nationalist movements saying that the aspirations and the lives of our people should precede liberal doctrine and liberal ideas, which have a frightening social agenda that may prove to be incompatible with the rights and happiness of people.
We all saw the danger of neo-liberalism, especially in the last two years, trying to define human nature by spreading concepts, arguments, and narratives that have nothing to do with the spontaneous lives and feelings of people everywhere. Besides, Covid-19 proved to most people that the solidarity required from them during wars to pay for armaments and to pay for raging wars anywhere in the globe is not matched by the solidarity these people receive at times of plague. Italy, in particular, was struck hard by Covid-19 but received hardly any help either from the US or from other European countries, with whom it is aligned at times of wars of aggression. In the meantime, it received great help from Cuba, China, and Russia. So the Italian people see and understand what is happening to them.
This was aggravated by the economic difficulties caused by the proxy war these countries are fighting in Ukraine against Russia and against the emergence of a multipolar world. Western reports show that inflation is rife and people are getting impoverished and suffering from huge expenses exacerbated by an unprecedented rise in prices and fall in their currencies. Why? Because they are required to feed a nonsensical war in Ukraine and destroy a country, which they have nothing to do with, in order to preserve the American hegemony on other countries and other people
So, for the first time, probably since the second world war, we are witnessing today a real rift between Western people and their true interests on the one hand and those who are supposed to represent them, on the other. In order to fight this trend, and perhaps to corner it, Western media, of course, dictated by Western policymakers, is giving these national trends in most European countries titles that have negative connotations with the aim of frightening people from these movements. They are accusing them of hatred of Muslims, hatred of refugees, wanting to establish Christian states, and being only interested in white and Christian countries. The funny thing about these claims is that they make it seem as if Europe now stands as a paradise for refugees and for Muslims and as if equality is absolutely prevalent and no racism can be traced whatsoever in Europe. When the Ukrainian refugees started to flee into Europe, European commentators and program anchors were saying: those are not Syrians, they are not Iraqis; those are white people with blue eyes. If this is not racism, I don’t know what is?!
I am not saying that the rising movements in Europe or right-wing movements or national movements in Europe do not have a negative attitude toward Arabs and Muslims, but I am saying even if they have, which is regrettable of course, there will be nothing new in that. We have been suffering from these attitudes for decades. But the difference between what Giorgia Meloni, the new Italian representative, and Liz Truss and Joe Biden, for example, is that the Italians say things as they are; honestly, clearly, and straight to the point; whereas Liz Truss and Joe Biden have a double-faced, hypocritical rhetoric that is supposed to address one reality, while brushing under the carpet a very different reality concerning the lives of people, both in the West and across the world.
When I read the Western narrative that is meant to frighten everyone from the emerging national movements in Europe, I remembered the importance of naming, and how sometimes naming things or trends or movements is meant to hide the essence of these entities rather than to express their real nature. I remember when I got my MA, I was offered a place to do my Ph.D. at Warwick University in the UK, where I met the head of the English Department. He asked me, “What is the subject you want to work on for a Ph.D.?” I said, “I want to work on the influence of Romantic poets, particularly Percy Bysshe Shelley on the Chartist Movement.” He was shocked and he immediately retorted: “What the hell do the Romantic poets have to do with the Chartist Movement?!” I said, “Well, that is what I want to find out.” The Chartist Movement is the first working-class movement in the world in 1848. It took place about 20 years after the death of Romantic poets; particularly: Percy Bysshe Shelley and Lord Byron.
Through four years of research in newspapers, books, philosophy, literature, and politics, I discovered that the name romantic has nothing to do with the reality of those poets, who were extremely active in the political domain. Lord Byron was killed fighting a war in Greece to liberate it from the Ottoman occupation, and Shelly spent his life trying to liberate Ireland from British rule. Shelly’s poem “Queen Mab” was called “The Chartist’s Bible.” I am relating this incident to show how important naming is and how much the West, particularly the UK, uses naming things or trends or people in order to project the reality it wants rather than the authentic reality that these names should truly reflect.
The war that is still raging in Ukraine is causing the impoverishment of Western people; it is causing great hardships for the majority of Western people. But there are beneficiaries of this war: arms industrialists and senior officials in all domains; whether army, intelligence, or politics… they are the ones who are increasing and multiplying their financial fortunes. Thus, what we are beginning to witness with the rise of the right movements or national movements in Europe are the first indications of real rebellion against these unfair and authoritarian autocratic systems that are calling themselves democracies. The upcoming winter may generate different means that people in Western countries are going to use in order to reach their objectives.
Besides Covid-19 and besides the war in Ukraine, I think that there is a third factor that is motivating people to think deeply about their lives, about the future of their children and their grandchildren. The third factor is the narrative of neo-liberalism that is ignoring all real issues – issues of families, working women, elderly people, poverty, education, childhood, and health – and focusing instead on issues that are almost invented and fabricated by a certain interest group for reasons that have nothing to do with the real lives of people. We all followed the huge concentration in the Western narratives on gay and lesbian relations and same-sex marriages, which in essence contradict human nature. Perhaps there are some people who find themselves in a different boat from most people, but to project this as a necessity and a subject to be forced on the throats of nine-year-olds at schools is something sinister and vicious.
There is no doubt that the destruction of the family nucleus in the West is a huge social problem that most people are suffering from, while yearning to restore the feeling of family and the normal feeling of affection and care among family members. This should be the case instead of putting such a huge stress on the individual and ignoring that the individual is always much happier and performs much better when he/she is raised by a loving family and a loving community and by a social matrix that provides him/her with all the support, love, and affection that help these individuals excel in their lives.
So, what we are witnessing today is a natural reaction to the level to which Western systems and Western media have used ordinary people and their lives, their well-being, and even their subsistence in order to launch wars and make the arms industry the best-thriving industry in the West, through conquering other countries and stealing their resources.
The antithesis for all this is what we read and hear of narratives coming from the East; from China, Russia, Iran, the BRIKS, member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, especially the narrative expressed and confirmed by Xi Jinping over the last decade that we are all living on one planet and that we have to share the resources of this planet and jointly be responsible for the welfare of this planet, without any of us trying to impose things on the other. We have to establish security for all, integrity for all, and prosperity for all because we all share this earth and we should join ranks in order to make sure that people on this earth live well and have the right opportunities to express themselves, build their future, and work hand in hand for the welfare of everybody everywhere.
Of course, this does not suit systems that encourage apartheid and occupation in Palestine and elsewhere… this doesn’t suit racist systems that see white-skinned men and women as superior to black- or brown-skinned people and want to use brown or black-skinned people as slaves; i.e. modern slaves for accumulating more wealth at the expense of other people and other countries.
So, what most people in the world aspire to is a welfare system; a truly fair system. The people crave for justice and not for claims of democracies that have no positive effect on their lives. Democracies had been used as slogans in order to suppress both peoples of these countries and people of other countries as well. Perhaps the cycle of history has reached a point where change is absolutely imperative. People have reached a conviction that this road, which has been charted by Western powers, is an extremely dangerous road, and has led to a dead-end. So, we better stop here and make a U-turn in order to ensure that we restore the balance; the logical balance to human lives.
Because they cannot stop igniting wars in one part of the globe or another, that is the most pending danger NATO countries constitute to the welfare of human beings everywhere.
Professor John Mearsheimer said the war in Ukraine will be a footnote in the history books written about the world changes this war has triggered. This remark may provide the best explanation of the huge noise the NATO countries have made about providing Ukraine with more sophisticated armaments and with billions of dollars in order to prevent a Russian victory. It also explains the big media campaign led by the West about the so-called advance made by the Ukrainian army against the Russians in Kharkov area. The press conference by NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, and the US Secretary of State, Antony J. Blinken, has to be seen and understood in light of the dire economic crisis which is biting into Europe.
Despite the iron fist laid on Western media, it is an open secret today that the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia have backfired on the West itself, and it has become clear that Western people are the ones suffering because of these sanctions, and not the Russian people as the western governments planned. In addition, the Eastern rapprochement between China and Russia is treading fast steps toward an alliance, and the Shanghai organization is attracting more member states, which in a short while, will become one of the most important world alliances that NATO countries do not want to see at all. Both China and Russia have announced that their future dealings and trade are going to be in Yuans and Rubles, which will start to weaken the dollar and shake its world status.
During the week and contrary to the expectations of Western media, the Chinese President, Xi Jinping, announced that he is going to Kazakhstan for a Shanghai meeting with the aim of meeting with President Putin. Every time these two leaders meet, they add another brick to the fortified base of their alliance whose grand announced aim is to change the world system into a multipolar system after getting rid of Western hegemony once and for all.
Of course, western experts and planners know all this and dread it, but instead of mentioning it or trying to address it in the real world, these jumped to the domain that they know best; i.e. the military claiming to their audiences that “Ukrainian forces have been able to stall Moscow offensive in the Donbass strike back behind Russian lines and retake territory.” On this narrative, they built the argument that NATO countries should send more support to Ukraine, with more billions of dollars and with the most sophisticated arms. Their imagination was set free to imagine that this is a very important moment for the Ukrainian people and army, and we should support them in order to prevent a Russian victory in Ukraine, as per their illusions.
First, there is no doubt that the press conference and all the media fever that came in its aftermath hailing progress made by Ukrainian forces against Russian forces was meant to change the focus of the Western people’s attention from the horrible consequences of the war on Ukraine on their daily lives and to stop the masses from taking to the streets to forcefully object to these policies, which proved to be disastrous to most of them.
Second, NATO countries have a history of supporting wars that have nothing to do with their geography or history. They now claim that they have to send hundreds of thousands of soldiers to protect the Eastern borders of NATO. What about Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria; are those also bordering NATO, or threatening its power? And what about Taiwan now; is it on the borders of NATO too?
The history of these countries proves without a shadow of a doubt that the military industry is at the core of its survival and continuity, and that is why they cannot survive and keep their hegemony over the world without this industry being well and prosperous, knowing that for this industry to be well and prosperous, it can only feed on wars. That is why they cannot stop igniting wars in one part of the globe or another, and that is the most pending danger NATO countries constitute to the welfare of human beings everywhere.
What we have to remember is that we are dealing with two different worlds, two different systems of thinking, two different histories, and two very different objectives. The West, which has subjugated and colonized many countries across the world over centuries, has perfected the usage of media and psychological wars to keep people as its subject. Throughout history, Western colonial powers gave no thought to civilian casualties. A reminder of the answer of Madeleine Albright about millions of Iraqi children being killed; she said, “But it was worth it,” whereas Eastern powers represented by Russia in this war pay so much attention to avoiding unnecessary loss of civilian lives. They change their plans and their tactics if they can save lives in their military or on the adversary’s civilian lives. In fact, the Eastern attitude always believes in taking time. They are not in a hurry, and they do not rush to launch a media or psychological campaign because their objectives are far-reaching and by far nobler than those of the party whose main concern is to sell arms and accumulate more capital.
For those reasons and many others unlisted here, we have to take the Hollywood postures made by the NATO Secretary-General and the US Secretary of State with a huge pinch of salt. Their major aim was to divert attention from the huge disaster they have created to their people through this uncalculated and misconceived adventure. It would have been much wiser and historically correct to review their decisions and decide whether they should continue in this futile endeavor or acknowledge the new realities on the ground born from the rise of the East and its determination, supported by the majority of people on Earth, to put an end to Western hegemony and remap the world on the basis of equal integrity and mutual respect. This may take a bit more time than what most people desire, but the train has left the station and it will undoubtedly reach its abode. The rest are insignificant details that no one will mention in the future.

Special Adviser at the Presidency of the Republic, Buthaina Shaaban, stressed the importance of strengthening and developing Syrian-Mauritanian relations and activating the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two brotherly countries.
During her meeting with Chairman of the Syro-Mauritanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee Mustafa Aldah Souhaib and the accompanying delegation and the head and members of the Syro-Mauritanian Brotherhood Committee in the People’s Assembly of Syria earlier today, Dr. Shaaban hailed the honorable Mauritanian popular and official attitude towards the terrorist war that Syria was subject to during the past years despite pressures exerted and temptations presented what gives hope for the revival of Arab Nation. Shaaban noted that Syria is committed to the Arab identity and adherent to the unity of Arab stance and have been always ready to cooperate with any Arab country or party in order to achieve the joint Arab solidarity.
Dr. Shaaban pointed out that the main goal of the war on Syria is to confiscate its independent decision, which it has known for decades, and to make it subservient to the West, when terrorism failed to undermine the Syrian state and Syrian armies, the of conspiring countries such as Turkey and the US moved to occupy parts of Syrian territory.
In his turn, Aldah Souhaib said that “Syria lives in the conscience of all the Mauritanian people though Mauritania is geographically distant from Syria, the mutual official and popular relations have always been at their best and at all levels”. Noting that all black propaganda campaign could not have change the view and attitude of the Mauritanian people towards the reality of the situation in Syria.
Souhaib and members of the delegation called for reformulating the concept of solidarity, Arab discourse and coordination between Arab countries and direct it to Arab youth to raise their awareness of the dangers that threaten the Arab nation and to unify the Arab attitude.
The head and members of the delegation affirmed that they came to Syria carrying a message of thanks and appreciation from the Mauritanian political, cultural and popular activities to Syria for its steadfastness and victories in the terrorist war waged against it.
For his part, the head of the Syrian-Mauritanian Brotherhood Committee in the People’s Assembly off Syria, Mohamed Bakhit, valued the support of the Mauritanian leadership and people, pointing out to the importance of exchanging parliamentary visits and experiences between the two brotherly countries.

حين قام الرئيس قيس سعيد باتخاذ قراراته الجريئة في 25 تموز/يوليو 2021 كتبت زاوية بعنوان “أول الغيث قطرة” آملة أن يكون هذا التحرك هو الإشارة الأكيدة لاجتثاث ما تبقى من التراث الدموي لعصابة الإخوان المسلمين من الوطن العربي بعد أن أسستها المخابرات البريطانية وفق نظريتهم الاستعمارية “فرّق تسد”، وبعد أن فشلوا في مصر وسورية وتوضح دورهم كأداة تخدم المصالح الإسرائيلية ضد العرب، ولذلك اتخذت دول عربية عديدة إجراءات حازمة ضدهم. وفي الأيام الأخيرة، وبعد أن أخذ الغنوشي يحاول عرقلة خطوات الرئيس قيس سعيد اتخذ الرئيس سعيد قراراً بحلّ البرلمان وحينها لم يعد زعيم عصابة الإخوان المسلمين العميلة في المنطقة “إردوغان” قادراً على التزام الصمت فانبرى يتدخل في الشؤون الداخلية لتونس حيث قال: “إن التطورات في تونس تشويه للديمقراطية وحل البرلمان الذي لا يوجد فيه مسؤولون منتخبون مدعاة للقلق على مستقبل تونس وضربة لإرادة شعبها.”
من الواضح أن خطوات الرئيس قيس سعيد قد أثارت حنق الرئيس التركي رجب طيب إردوغان الذي مازال يمارس النفاق مع كل الأطراف الإقليمية والدولية وهو في حقيقته لا يتعدى كونه زعيم مشروع إسرائيلي يستخدم الإخوان المسلمين كأداة إرهابية ضمن مخطط مجهز من قبل المخابرات الإسرائيلية وبدعم من المخابرات الغربية المعادية للعرب، وإردوغان هذا مجرد طاغية وعثماني جديد يعيد مسيرة أجداده من سلاطين الظلم والتجهيل، ودوره واضح في التواطؤ مع الصهاينة ضد فلسطين وشعبها سابقاً ولاحقاً، وهو الذي يقوم جيشه باحتلال أجزاء من سورية والعراق، وهو من درب وسلح وأرسل مئات الألوف من الإرهابيين لقتل وتهجير الملايين من السوريين والعراقيين في تناغم لا يطاله الشك مع مخططات الحركة الصهيونية في المنطقة وإلحاق بالغ الأذى بالعرب والوطن العربي تاريخاً وثقافة وحضارة وحاضراً ومستقبلاً.
والغريب أن هناك بعض العرب ما زالوا يصدّقون أكاذيب إردوغان التي تدعي الدفاع عن الإسلام أو التعاضد مع جيرانه العرب تماماً كما صدقوا وتوارثوا الكذبة التاريخية المماثلة أن الاحتلال العثماني للأمة العربية كان فتحاً إسلامياً وخلافة إسلامية، وهناك من يصدّق الدعاية التي تروجها المخابرات التركية بأن السلطان عبد الحميد قد رفض الموافقة على إعطاء أرض فلسطين كوطن قومي لليهود، وكثيرون بين ظهرانينا ما زالوا يؤمنون بصحة ذلك حتى هذا اليوم رغم أن الوقائع التاريخية الدقيقة تثبت أن التواطؤ العثماني كان أساسياً وهاماً في تمكين الصهاينة من الاستيطان في فلسطين.
ورغم كل مناورات وفرمانات السلطان عبد الحميد والتي تشبه إلى حد بعيد كل مراوغات ونفاق إردوغان في العقدين الأخيرين فإن الحقيقة التاريخية هي أن السلطان عبد الحميد لعب دوراً فاعلاً في الهجرة اليهودية إلى فلسطين وتنامي المستوطنات، وقد بدأت هذه العلاقة بين السلطنة العثمانية والصهاينة من السلطان العثماني عبد المجيد الأول الذي وقع اتفاقاً عام 1840 مع موسى مونتيفوري بمعاونة هنري جون تيمبل رئيس وزراء بريطانيا يقضي بمنح اليهود امتيازات داخل فلسطين وفي كل أرجاء الدولة العثمانية حيث شكّل هذا الاتفاق بداية سرطان الاستيطان الصهيوني الذي سرى في جسد فلسطين وبدأ يأخذ الشرعية بفرمانات السلاطين المتلاحقة إلى أن جاء عهد عبد الحميد الثاني سنة 1876، ومع عصره بدأ سرطانهم يتوحش ويأخذ أبعاده على أرض فلسطين كلها بدعم من الدول الاستعمارية الغربية.
فقد كانت علاقة السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني وطيدة جداً مع زعيم الحركة الصهيونية العالمية تيودور هرتزل تماماً كعلاقة إردوغان بالصهاينة اليوم، ورغم التحايل من أجل عدم كشف الدعم الحقيقي الذي قدمه للحركة الصهيونية إلا أن الوقائع تثبت عدد وأسماء المستوطنات الصهيونية التي بنيت على أرض فلسطين خلال فترة حكمه من عام 1876-1909. فخلال فترة حكم السلطان عبد الحميد الثاني أسس اليهود ثلاثاً وثلاثين مستوطنة على أرض فلسطين واستحوذوا على مئات الآلاف من الدونمات من أرض فلسطين وقاموا بتهجير عشرات الآلاف من يهود أوروبا إلى فلسطين، وقد تم تأسيس الكثير من هذه المستعمرات في وقت ادّعت فيه الدولة العثمانية أنها شددت من إجراءاتها لمنع دخول اليهود! بل واعترفت الدولة العثمانية بوجود المستعمرات وهو ما سمح للبارون روتشيلد بتسجيل الأراضي التي اشتراها باسمه وسمحت لليهود بشراء الأراضي، فقد كان عدد اليهود في فلسطين عام 1882 أربع وعشرين ألفاً فقط بينما وصل في نهاية القرن التاسع عشر إلى خمسين ألفاً وفي عام 1908 إلى 80 ألفاً أي نحو ثلاثة أضعاف ما كان عددهم عام 1882 .
إن تاريخ الاستعمار العثماني لبلادنا وعداءهم للعرب وأطماعهم بضم أراضينا وتواطأهم مع الصهاينة للسماح لهم بالهجرة والاستيطان في فلسطين العربية واضح للعيان بشكل يثير الشكوك بأصول حكامهم المشبوهة بينما يحاول عملاؤهم من الإخوان بدفع من المخابرات التركية أن يبرّؤوا العثمانيين من هذه الجريمة التاريخية من خلال تلاعبهم بالفرمانات والسرديات والتصريحات ويعتبر أنموذجاً يتبعه إردوغان منذ توليه الحكم في تركيا وتحركاته البهلوانية من سفينة مرمرة إلى كل التصريحات الكاذبة التي يطلقها دعماً للفلسطينيين بينما تتوطد علاقته المخابراتية والعسكرية والاقتصادية بشكل لا لبس فيه مع الكيان الغاصب ويبلغ حجم تبادله التجاري مع هذا الكيان مليارات الدولارات بينما لم يقدم دعماً واحداً للقضية الفلسطينية العادلة سوى التصريحات الكاذبة والمنافقة والتي تهدف إلى التضليل وذرّ الرماد في العيون، بينما يحتل الأرض العربية في سورية والعراق ويشيد القواعد العسكرية في قطر وغيرها تهديداً للدول العربية وشقاً لصفوفها.
إن احتلاله لأجزاء من الأراضي السورية والعراقية وتدخله الخبيث في ليبيا واليوم تطاوله بالتدخل في الشأن الداخلي التونسي كما تدخل في الصراع في ناغورني كاراباخ ضد إيران وفي أوكرانيا ضد روسيا، كل هذا كفيل بتعرية نفاقه واتضاح صورته أمام العالم برمته وخاصة أمام العرب في مختلف أقطارهم وأمام الحليف الروسي الذي أسقط عدداً من طائرات بيرقدار التي أرسلها أردوغان إلى حكومة أوكرانيا لقتال روسيا.
إن الله سبحانه وتعالى وضع المنافقين في الدرك الأسفل من النار لأنهم أخطر من الكافرين، وفي كل عقاب يتقدم المنافقون على الكافرين لأنهم الأخطر على حياة البشر وجميع مناحي حياتهم فكيف إذا كانوا قد مردوا على النفاق باسم الإسلام ماضياً وحاضراً وأتقنوا التلاعب بأدواته لتحقيق أهدافهم الخبيثة.

Home means the land, the sun, the sky. It means the dawn and the sunset; it means hearing the bell of the cattle coming back in the evening from the field, and the relaxed women calling playful children to end the game and get home as the sun is bidding us goodbye for today.
The woman whispers to her husband: do you hear what I am hearing? Someone is trying to open our door! Are you expecting any member of your family? They rang the bell violently and then started hitting the door. “Do not move” the husband said, “we are not going to open.” In a few minutes, the military boots broke the door, and an armed soldier ordered the family to leave, as the occupation authorities have decided to blow this house up because it is illegal, the soldier said this house is illegal. The husband said: “it is the house of my father and of my grandfathers and our ancestors for centuries, we grew up here, as kids playing in the courtyard and washing our hands and faces at this fountain as our fathers before us. Look at our pictures; these are the pictures of my grandparents who lived here, and those are of my parents and siblings, what are you talking about legal or illegal?!
By this time the husband was talking to himself as the soldier was throwing everything on the floor ruining the plants surrounding the pond, and screaming at everyone to leave within an hour as they are going to blow up the house. The man and the woman looked at each other and the children were wakened up to this horrid noise and they all stood in the courtyard not knowing what to do and not even putting their proper clothes on as they were all in their pyjamas.
The soldiers are now five roaming in the house and destroying everything their hands fell on. The scene is a nightmare from a film of horror from American Soho which is used to describe the destruction of villages in Vietnam.
The entire family was evicted from the homes of their fathers and grandfathers to the street, to the open with no goods, no clothes, no food, no pictures, no memories, no boxes from the grandmothers, no mirror or furniture presented to them by family and relatives. Do you know what it means to be stripped of your home, of your history, of your memories, of each stone that is part of the house walls? do you know what it means to be deprived of your house? Do you know what does home mean? Do you know what it truly means? It means the land, the sun, the sky. It means the dawn and the sunset; it means hearing the bell of the cattle coming back in the evening from the field, and the relaxed women calling playful children to end the game and get home as the sun is bidding us goodbye for today.
Home means every corner where my grandmother sat telling us stories she had learned from her mother. It means the memories of our babies being born here and growing day by day, crawling and then walking and then speaking. It means the pleasure in the eyes of all the guests who circled around the fountain sipping coffee and having Homos and Foul for the renowned Friday breakfast; it means every book we read here, enjoyed and discussed, every painting my wife produced on her desk.
إلى متى نستمر في بيع الأوهام، ونحن نشهد واقع هذه الأمة يتراجع، سواء محلياً، أو إقليمياً، أو دولياً؟
الغمغمة السياسية
في خطابه، في الذكرى الـ 34 لانطلاق حركة “الجهاد الإسلامي”، دعا الأمين العام للحركة زياد نخالة إلى وحدة الصف الفلسطيني، والتراجع عن أوهام السلام التي اختلقها العدو الإسرائيلي، والابتعاد عن الغمغمة السياسية. وفي هذه الدعوة الأخيرة بلسمٌ لجراح متعدّدة، يعاني جرّاءها الشعبان الفلسطيني والعربي منذ عقود، لأن الغمغمة السياسية هي الحاجز الأخطر بين الحق وأصحابه وبين التاريخ الحقيقي الذي يجب أن يُدرَّس للأجيال وبين ما يدرسونه اليوم من نصوص تُولي اهتماماً لمشاعر أصحاب الشأن والقرار، بدلاً من إيلاء الاهتمام للوطن وسلامته وتعزيز أُسس قوته ومنعته.
مرّت، منذ أيام، ذكرى حرب تشرين التحريرية، لكنْ لم تُكتب حقيقة تلك الحرب ومجرياتها، إلى حدّ اليوم، ولم يتمَّ التوصل إلى الاستنتاجات العلمية والمؤكَّدة، والتي تسمي الأشياء بأسمائها، على الرَّغم من أن اتفاقات “سيناء 2″، واتفاق كامب دافيد، وزيارة السادات للقدس المحتلة، دكّت إسفيناً في جسد العالم العربي، ما زلنا نشهد تداعياته الخطيرة ونعيش تبعاته على الأجيال، من دون أن يتمكن أحد من عكس هذا التيار، والإقلاع من جديد في اتجاه مُغاير مقاوم.
وفي الإطار نفسه، حقّق اتفاق أوسلو للعدو الصهيوني ما لم يتمكن من تحقيقه خلال عقود، وأفشل ذاك الاتفاق عمليةَ سلام كانت مبنية على أُسس سليمة ووَفق إجماع وتنسيق عربيين، ومكّن الصهاينة من خوض معركة علاقات عامة بعشرات الدول لمصلحتهم، وفتحَ الأبواب لهم من جانب بلدان لم تكن لتعترف بالكيان الصهيوني لولا الاتفاق الفلسطيني معه. ومع ذلك، لا تنص الكتب المدرسية أو غيرها على حقيقة ما جرى ويجري، ولا تُسَمّي الأشياء بأسمائها، ولا توجِّه اللوم إلى من يستحقون. وهنا، أستذكر قول الله، عز وجل، “يا أهل الكتاب لِمَ تَلْبِسُون الحقَّ بالباطل وتَكْتُمون الحقَّ وأنتم تَعْلَمون”. لكنْ، هذه المرة، تشملنا هذه الآية حين نغمغم ولا نفصح عن الحقيقة.
أن يلبس الحق بالباطل؛ أي أن يغمغم الحق، أو أن يكتمه، وكلاهما خطرٌ على الحقيقة وقول الصدق، لأن الحقيقة هي التي تهدي إلى القرار السليم، وهي التي تختصر الطُّرُق، وتستثمر الوقت، بدلاً من هدره وإضاعته، أو ما زال البعض يعتبر أن أشخاصاً ما وسمعتهم ومكانتهم أهم من التاريخ وأهم من الأوطان؟ لا قيمة يجب أن تعلو فوق قيمة الوطن وقول كلمة الحق، من أجل مصلحة الوطن وإعلاء شأنه، لأن الكلَّ موقَّتون وعابرون، إلاّ الأوطان والحقائق الناصعة المرتبطة بها.
هناك من يعرضون بعض أحداث تاريخنا بصدق شفوياً، وحين نطلب منهم أن يسجّلوا ما قالوه، يقول البعض منهم: لن يصدّقنا أحد، لأن كل ما نقرأه مخالف للحقائق التي نعرفها بعمق ونتحدث بشأنها.
إلى متى نستمر في بيع الأوهام، ونحن نشهد واقع هذه الأمة يتراجع، سواء محلياً، أو إقليمياً، أو دولياً؟ ومتى سنمتلك الجرأة الأكيدة على أن نؤيّد ما قاله السيد زياد نخالة، وفحواه أن “المشروع الرسمي الفلسطيني”، وأُضيفُ إليه “المشروع الرسمي العربي”، هما أقصرُ من قامات الشهداء، وأقلّ كثيراً من تضحيات الأسرى والجرحى، على امتداد أرض هذا الوطن العربي الكبير، في كلّ أقطاره”؟
في الوقت الذي تنشغل أغلبية دول العالم بإعادة حساباتها بشأن موقعها، إقليمياً ودولياً، والدور الذي يمكن لها أن تؤدّيه أو تطوّره في أحداث تعيد تشكيل العالَم من جديد، نجد الكتلة العربية مبعثرةَ الجهود بين مع من يريد أن يَستبدل بالسيد الأميركي السيدَ العثماني، “كالمستجير من الرمضاء بالنار”، وبين من يعقد آمالاً على الأوهام، التي يسوّقها له الكيان الصهيوني، فيرتمي في حِضنه سراً أو علانية، غيرَ متّغظ من مآل الأمور في دول عقدت آمالها على العلاقة بهذا الكيان، فلم يكتفِ بالغدر بها، بل سخّر كلّ علاقاته وإمكاناته ليُقنع دولاً أخرى باتخاذ خطوات، وبناء سدود، تنغّص عليها مصدر الحياة الذي ترتوي من نسغه. وبين هذا وذاك دول عربية تمتثل لقرارات هي في العمق ضدها، بقدر ما هي ضدّ الأخ الشقيق، لأنها تكرّس الفرقة والانقسام والعزلة، في الوقت الذي يدرك أعداء العرب، قبل حكام العرب، أن فتح حدودهم والتعاون والتنسيق بينهم هي طريق الخلاص الوحيد لهم جميعاً.
البعض، في عالمنا العربي، مزهوّ بانكسار الولايات المتحدة في أفغانستان، وتراجُع الدور الغربي في الإقليم والعالم، بينما ما زال بعض مَن يراهنون على السيد الغربي يتوسّلون كلمة منه يعتقدون أنها قادرة على تغيير مصائرهم ومصائر أوطانهم. وهؤلاء يذكّرونني ببداية الحرب على سوريا، حين احتفل بعض المأجورين بدعوة أوباما الرئيسَ الأسد إلى أن يرحل، معتقدين أن كلمته قَدَرَ لن يتمكّن أحد من تغييره. وفي كِلتا الحالتين الرهان هو على الآخر: إمّا أن ينكسر، وإمّا أن يشكّل منقذاً، ولا هو بباعث الحياة في بلداننا إن انكسر، ولم ولن يشكّل منقذاً لمن لا يعمل ويضحّي، ويُسرع الخطى في بناء وطنه.
مع التسليم طبعاً بأنّ الغرب بعد أفغانستان ليس كما قبلها، وأنّ القطب الغربي يشهد حالة تفكّك وتراجع، يقابلها صعود متسارع للصين وروسيا والهند وإيران، ومنظومات تفكير تؤمن بعالم متعدّد الأقطاب، وبإعادة النظر في العلاقات الدولية، وتقف ضدّ التدخّل في شؤون الدول. وعلى الرغم من ذلك كلّه، فإنّ الوحش الغربيّ المتربّص بالعرب اليوم جاثمٌ على الضفة الأخرى من المتوسّط، حالمٌ بإعادة بناء الإمبراطورية العثمانية على أُسس تنظيم “الإخوان المسلمين” للوصول إلى أهدافه. فالخطر اليوم الذي يهدِّد سوريا والعراق وليبيا وتونس والجزائر، وحتى مصر واليمن ودول الخليج، كما يهدِّد إيران وأرمينيا وعدداً من دول آسيا الوسطى، هو الخطر العثماني الإخواني، الذي يحاول مراكمة أوراقه من خلال ألاعيبه الخبيثة، قبل أن تنكشف نِيّاته الحقيقية. والخوف هو من الانتظار إلى أن تصبح نياته واضحة للجميع، فيكون قد تمدّد واحتلّ وتمركز، واستخدم أدواته ضدّ البلدان والشعوب.
لقد أصبح واضحاً اليوم أنّ الخطر العثماني والخطر الإسرائيلي على أمتنا صنوان. لكن الأخطر من كلّ شيء، بالنسبة إلى هذه الأمة، هو عدم وضوح الرؤية، وعدم الاقتناع بأنّ عوامل القوة أو الضعف تنبع من الداخل، ولا يمكن لأيّ قوّة، مهما عَتَت، أن تنال من بنيان صلب متماسك يُحْسن صانعوه الدفاع عنه. كما أصبح واضحاً أنّ كلّ ادعاءات العثماني بشأن الحرص على فلسطين والذَّود عنها هي ادّعاءات كاذبة من أجل ذرّ الرماد في العيون، بينما يتعاون مع الصهيوني في شبكة علاقات سياسية واقتصادية وعسكرية، تمتدّ من الشرق الأوسط إلى القوقاز وآسيا الوسطى.
مصيبتان كُبْرَيان في تاريخنا العربي هما الخيانة والغمغمة السياسية، والسبب الكامن وراء الاثنتين هو عدم الصدق مع الذات والآخر، وعدم المكاشفة الصريحة، وعدم الجرأة في إعلاء كلمة الحقّ والوطن. لا شكّ في أنّ الوقت أصبح متـأخراً جداً، وأنّ إعادة البناء تتطلّب وقتاً وجهداً وتفكيراً نيّراً وغيرَ تقليديّ. لكن، هل هناك أيّ خِيار آخر متاح من أجل مستقبل أفضل لأُمّة تهدّدها تطوّرات الأحداث في العالم بأن تُبقيَها خارج التاريخ؟
منذ الاحتلال البريطاني للعراق خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى التي انتهت عام 1918 لم تتوقف المحاولات الغربية لاحتواء العراق وخاصة لفصله عن امتداده الطبيعي إلى بلاد الشام حيث التبادل التاريخي والمعرفي والاقتصادي كان معروفاً بين مملكة إيبلا وبلاد الرافدين. وتشهد الرقم التاريخية والتطور الزراعي على التفاعل والتكامل والانسجام الحضاري والحياتي بين سورية والعراق على مرّ التاريخ إلى أن بدأت بالسعي لإلحاق العراق بسياساتها وربطه بمعاهدات متعددة في عشرينيات وثلاثينيات القرن الماضي وصولاً إلى حلف بغداد عام 1955 والذي كان يضم بالإضافة إلى المملكة المتحدة كلاً من العراق وتركيا وإيران الشاه وباكستان.
لقد كان الهدف الأول لهذا الحلف هو محاولة وقف نفوذ الاتحاد السوفييتي الذي كان قد وطّد ووسّع علاقته في تلك الفترة مع سورية ومصر. ومع أن الولايات المتحدة هي صاحبة فكرة إنشاء هذا الحلف ووعدت بتقديم الدعم الاقتصادي والعسكري للأعضاء إلا أنها لم تشارك فيه بشكل مباشر وإنما وكّلت بريطانيا للقيام بذلك، ولكن العراق انسحب من الحلف بعد ثورة 14 تموز 1958 التي أطاحت بالنظام الملكي الهاشمي وأعلنت الجمهورية واستقلّ العراق لأول مرة من النفوذ البريطاني، وانتقل مركز الحلف بعد ذلك من بغداد إلى أنقرة، وأقام العراق علاقات دبلوماسية واقتصادية وعسكرية مع الاتحاد السوفييتي، وبذلك أخفق هذا الحلف في وقف توسع نفوذ الاتحاد السوفييتي الذي وطّد علاقاته مع الدول العربية في تلك الفترة. ومع اندلاع الثورة الإيرانية عام 1979 أطلقت رصاصة الرحمة على حلف بغداد الذي اعتُبر من أضعف الأحلاف التي نشأت خلال الحرب الباردة.
ولكن محاولات احتواء العراق لم تتوقف وأسوأ تجلياتها على مرّ العقود الماضية كان نشوب الحرب العراقية الإيرانية بعد انتصار الثورة الإيرانية وبذل الجهود المستمرّة والمستميتة لفصل العراق عن عمقه العربي السوري، ومنع حتى إقامة أي علاقة وتواصل بين هذين البلدين المنسجمين تاريخياً وديموغرافياً وجغرافياً وحضارياً لأن التكامل والتفاعل بين سورية والعراق سيؤسس من دون شك لبنة عربية متينة قد تشكل قاعدة ومنطلقاً للعلاقات العربية السليمة والمجزية لكلّ المنخرطين فيها، ولذلك فقد كانت الحدود العراقية السورية دوماً أحد الأهداف الغربية وقد حرصت الدول الاستعمارية الغربية على خلق كافة الحجج والذرائع والمؤامرات لإبقاء هذه الحدود مغلقة في فترات طويلة من تاريخ البلدين.
إذ رغم كل الدعم الذي قدمه الغرب للعصابات الإرهابية منذ 2011 في حربها على سورية ورغم انشغاله في حرب إرهابية تدميرية في الداخل السوري فإن نظر الغرب لم يحد عن هذه الحدود وسعى إلى ضمان بقاء الإرهاب قربها كي يمنع فتحها والتواصل الحقيقي بين الشعبين السوري والعراقي لأن هذا التواصل سيعود بالفائدة الجمّة على البلدين انتماءً وثقافة وعروبة وحضارة واقتصاداً وتكاملاً حقيقياً. ولا شك أن كل الذرائع للإبقاء على هذه الحدود مغلقة تتلخص بأهداف الإدارة الأميركية القديمة الجديدة والتي تريد أن يكون العراق قاعدة للدول المنضوية تحت لواء الغرب وسدّاً في وجه روسيا والصين وإيران وفي وجه دخول الصين خاصة إلى منطقة الشرق الأوسط ومنع قيام أي مسعى وحدوي بين البلدين.
الغرب يعتبر العراق بوابة لنفوذه في الشرق الأوسط، ولا شك أن العراق بعمقه الحضاري ومؤهلات شعبه وثرواته الظاهرة والباطنة يشكّل عمقاً وحدوياً عروبياً وأن فصله عن سورية وإلهاءه بتحالفات غير قابلة للحياة وأثبتت فشلها على مرّ التاريخ يظهران أهمية العراق الحقيقية وإدراك الغرب لهذه الأهمية ومحاولاته تجيير كل مقدرات العراق لصالحه ونهب ثرواته وإلهاء شعبه بالخلافات الطائفية. من هذا المنظور يمكن أن نفهم كل محاولات التدمير والتهميش والاحتلال والحصار والعقوبات للعراق وشعبه على مدى العقود الماضية، وأن كل ما أثير من تهم له من أسلحة دمار شامل إلى غيرها كانت غطاءً بائساً لتنفيذ تلك الأهداف.
ولكن وبعد قرن ونيّف من أساليب وطموحات وطروحات الغرب هذه أصبح من البدهي أن يدرك أصحاب الشأن حقيقة ما يقال ومجافاته للواقع والهدف المراد منه؛ إذ لم يعد مقبولاً اليوم أن يشعر البعض بسعادة غامرة لأن مسؤولاً غربياً قرر أن يحضر مؤتمراً في بغداد وكأنّ هذا الحضور يشكل منّة أو قيمة مضافة في حين يهدف إلى تحقيق ما عجزوا عن تحقيقه من قبل من التواطؤ ضد نسيج العراق العربي وتواصله مع أهله وجيرانه واختراع تحالفات له لا مستقبل لها ولا تسمن ولا تغني من جوع بل تتركه فريسة لمن يتشدّق بحضارة بغداد، في حين تحلّ قواه العسكرية الطاغية قوة غاشمة على أرض العراق الطاهرة؛ تحتل الأرض وتنهب الخيرات وتدعم الإرهاب وتغزو الأسواق بمنتجاتها العثمانية وتروّج للطائفية وترسل الإرهابيين من الإخوان المسلمين في بلد تاريخه العيش المشترك والغنى الحضاري والتمازج الثقافي.
السؤال الذي يشغل بالي دائماً: لماذا لا نثق نحن العرب بقيمة ما لدينا؟ ولماذا لا نعرف أحياناً أهمية ما لدينا حتى يتم تسليط الضوء عليه من قبل الخصوم والأعداء؛ فنسعى حينذاك جاهدين إلى الاحتفاظ به أو تحريره من عدوانهم دافعين أغلى الأثمان في سبيل ذلك؟ لماذا لا نقتنع أن التكالب الغربي على بلداننا ومؤامراتهم ضدنا والتحالفات التي خلقوها لتمزيق صفوفنا وبناء الحواجز بين شعوبنا تعني أن لدينا ما هو ثمين وما يريدون الحصول عليه أو تدميره إذا لم يتمكنوا من انتزاعه منا؟ لماذا نحتاج إلى اعتراف الآخرين بأن موقعنا الجغرافي وثرواتنا الطبيعية والبشرية وعمقنا الحضاري وعيشنا المشترك عبر التاريخ يشكلون قيمة استثنائية لا يمتلكها الآخرون ويتوجب علينا الحفاظ عليها والاعتزاز بها من دون الحاجة إلى من يعترف لنا بذلك ومن دون الحاجة إلى شهادة من الخصوم والأعداء التاريخيين الذين ما زالوا يحطون من قدر بلادنا إلى أن يستولوا على مقدراتنا ويدمروها.
فهل تحتاج بغداد التاريخ إلى محتل عثماني ومتواطئ غربي كي تعرف قيمتها ومكانتها؟ وهل كانوا ليأتوا إليها لولا إدراكهم العميق لهذه القيمة؟ وهل يجوز أن تمتثل لما يريدون علماً أنهم برهنوا للمرة الألف أنهم يريدون للعراق التبعية فقط والوقوف في وجه التنين القادم من الشرق وأن تكون بغداد والقاهرة وعمّان سنداً لهم في وجه هذا التنين؟ إلى متى ستبقى المرجعية الغربية تذرّ الرماد في العيون ويبقى المستعمر الغربي متمادياً في نشر أوهامه عبر الأجيال أنه الأذكى والأقوى والأعرف؟ متى سيشكل العرب مرجعيتهم الخاصة بهم والمنطلقة من تقديرهم لذاتهم وتاريخهم وإمكاناتهم الاستثنائية ويمضون في التحالفات التي يختارونها هم بإرادتهم الحرة ولصالح شعوبهم وبلدانهم من دون ضغوطات أو إملاءات أو تهديدات من أحد؟ متى يكون الرأي حراً لا يتحكم به سوى الشأن الوطني والمصلحة العربية العليا؟
مراجعة متأنية لتاريخنا العربي، وخاصة لتاريخ الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي، تُري أن العدو أحكم استخدام التوقيت بينما لم يحسن العرب ذلك.
لا شك أن الوقت هو هبة الله للإنسان، لأنّ الإنسان في النهاية هو بضعة أيام على هذه الأرض، ولكن إتقان التوقيت هو الذي يجعل هذا الوجود مفيداً أو متميزاً أو مثمراً.
بما أننا لا نستطيع أن نغير شيئاً في الأحداث التي مضت، يتوجب علينا الاستفادة منها لقراءة ما يحاك لنا اليوم
وقد عبّرت الأمثلة التي تطرحها شعوب مختلفة عن أهمية التوقيت؛ فالمثل الإنكليزي يقول “التوقيت هو الجوهر”، والمثل الأميركي يقول “التوقيت هو كل شيء”. وقد لاحظتُ من خلال متابعتي لأمور شتّى أن الإنسان يمكن أن يخسر رهانات هامة في الحياة نتيجة عدم اهتمامه بالتوقيت رغم توفر كافة المؤهلات والشروط التي تمكّنه من كسب الرهان فقط لو أحسن التوقيت.
ولاحظتُ حيوية ومصيرية التوقيت وخصوصاً في الإعلام والسياسة؛ فحين تتناقل وكالات الأنباء خبراً تعتبره الخبر الأول؛ حينذاك يمكن لك أن تدلي بدلوك وأن تجد آذاناً صاغية لأنها متعطشة لسماع أي شيء يتعلق بهذا الخبر، ولكن إذا انتظرت لليوم الثاني لن تجد من يستقبل خبرك حتى وإن كان أكثر مصداقية وقيمة من كل ما قيل في اليوم الأول. وهذا ذاته ينطبق على السياسة والأعمال أيضاً.
إن مراجعة متأنية لتاريخنا العربي، وخاصة لتاريخ الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي، تُري أن العدو أحكم استخدام التوقيت بينما لم يحسن العرب ذلك، لأنهم لم يعملوا من منطلقات استراتيجية واضحة وكانوا في غالب الأحيان يعالجون ظواهر الأحداث بدلاً من مسبباتها الحقيقية.
وبما أننا لا نستطيع أن نغير شيئاً في الأحداث التي مضت، يتوجب علينا على الأقل الاستفادة منها لقراءة ما يحاك لنا اليوم قراءة معمقة وواعية، لكي نتعامل معها في الوقت المناسب وقبل فوات الأوان.
لقد صدّر الغرب لنا ومنذ القرن التاسع عشر مصطلح “ميثاق إبراهيم” الذي يجمع بين المؤمنين قبل أن يتحول في القرن العشرين إلى حقل دراسات مستقلة للديانات الإبراهيمية، وطبعاً المقصود فيها اليهودية والمسيحية والإسلام وقبل أن تصدر تفرعاته عن مؤسسات أهلية ثقافية وسياحية في الغرب تتحدث عن الأخوة الابراهيمية العابرة للديانات والشعوب والبلدان، إلى أن انطلقت في العام 2004 رسمياً في جامعة هارفارد “مبادرة مسار الحج الابراهيمي” بدعم من مشروع التفاوض الدولي في كلية الحقوق في جامعة هارفارد وبمشاركة عالمية لباحثين ورجال دين وأعمال وخبراء في السياحة البيئية وآخرين.
وهدف المبادرة هو افتتاح مسار سيراً على الأقدام يسلك مواقع ثقافية ودينية وسياحية يتتبع خطى النبي إبراهيم عليه السلام منذ أكثر من أربعة آلاف عام، ويبدأ المسار من مدينة أور العراقية مروراً بإيران وسوريا وصولاً إلى مدينة الخليل الفلسطينية حيث يعتقد أن قبر النبي إبراهيم الخليل هناك.
وبدأت منظمات أميركية أهلية وغربية تدعو إلى إحياء هذا المسار ثقافياً وسياحياً وروحياً وتتحدث عن فوائده الاقتصادية بينما ركز القادة الأميركان على استغلاله لأهداف أخرى؛ إذ حين أشرف الرئيس جيمي كارتر على اتفاق كامب ديفيد بين مصر والكيان الصهيوني قال في كلمته “دعونا نترك الحرب جانباً، دعونا الآن نكافئ كلّ أبناء إبراهيم المتعطشين إلى اتفاق سلام شامل في الشرق الأوسط، دعونا الآن نستمتع بتجربة أن نكون آدميين بالكامل وجيراناً بالكامل وحتى أخوة وأخوات”.
وفي عام 1993 حين أشرف الرئيس بيل كلينتون على توقيع اتفاق أوسلو بين إسحق رابين وياسر عرفات قال: “إن أبناء إبراهيم؛ أي نسل إسحق وإسماعيل، انخرطوا معاً في رحلة جريئة، واليوم مع بعضنا بكل قلوبنا وأرواحنا نقدّم لهم السلام”.
وفي عام 1994 وخلال اتفاقية وادي عربة التطبيعية بين الأردن والكيان الصهيوني قال الملك حسين: “سوف نتذكر هذا اليوم طيلة حياتنا لأجل أجيال المستقبل من الأردنيين والإسرائيليين والعرب والفلسطينيين، كل أبناء إبراهيم”.
وفي إطار توظيف الابراهيمية سياسياً برز في الغرب مصطلح “الدبلوماسية الروحية” وتم تعريفه بأنه مسار من مسارات التفاوض تستهدف حل النزاع أو منع حدوثه من أجل بناء سلام ديني عالمي عبر تقارب الديانات الإبراهيمية أو الدين العالمي الواحد.
وفي هذا الإطار ذاته أتت زيارة قداسة بابا الفاتيكان لمدينة أور الأثرية وللمرجعية الشيعية في النجف السيد السيستاني كي يتم إدخال المرجعية الشيعية في هذا المسار بعد أن طبّعت دول عربية أخرى مع الكيان الصهيوني. ولكن اللافت في تلك الزيارة أن قداسة البابا قد اصطحب معه عشر بعثات أثرية للتنقيب عن الآثار في مدينة أور العراقية؛ فما هي علاقة الآثار بهذا المسار؟
تقول الدكتورة هبة جمال الدين مدرس العلوم السياسية في القاهرة، إن الهدف النهائي لهذا المسار هو الكشف عن آثار تُثبت أن الشعوب الأصلية لهذه المنطقة ليسوا العرب بل اليهود الذين تم تهجيرهم من البلدان العربية، والمطالبة بتعويضات لهم ومحو الثقافة العربية وتأسيس اتحاد الأرض الإبراهيمية المشتركة مع رموز دينية جديدة وثقافة جديدة باشروا بالتأسيس لها من خلال تسجيل “المحكي” أو “الحكي”؛ أي توثيق تاريخ جديد من أفواه من يختارون ليحلّ مكان التاريخ الموجود والمعتمد في المنطقة، وقد كتبت الدكتورة هبة جمال الدين كتاباً عن “المسار الإبراهيمي الملغوم” فنّدت فيه الأهداف السياسية البعيدة لهذا المشروع ألا وهي إزالة الحدود وإزالة الانتماء للدول كما نعرفها اليوم، وتقويم المواطنين كمواطنين ينتمون فقط للديانة الإبراهيمية والتي دون شك سيكون الغرب والكيان الصهيوني هما المشرفان على وضع أسس هويتها والانتماء لها.
وقد تبنى الرئيس الأميركي ترامب هذه التسمية في الوثائق الأميركية، ولكن ومنذ فترة أصدر الرئيس بايدن أمراً بشطب مصطلح الإبراهيمية من الوثائق واستبداله بـ “التطبيع “؛ إذ نتذكر أن الاتفاقات الأخيرة التي عقدت بين الإمارات العربية المتحدة والبحرين من جهة وبين “إسرائيل” من جهة ثانية تمت تسميتها بـ”اتفاقات أبراهام”، والسبب أن الرئيس بايدن أمر بحذف هذا المصطلح لأن هوية المشروع بدأت تتكشف للباحثين والمناهضين له فخاف عليه أن يتم إجهاضه واعتبر أن الوقت لم ينضج بعد للإفصاح عن هذا المشروع الخطير والترويج له.
ويأتي هذا المشروع نتيجة فشل الكيان بالتطبيع مع الشعب العربي في مختلف أقطاره رغم أنه وقّع اتفاقيات مع حكومات متعاقبة في دول عربية مختلفة إلا أن هذه الاتفاقيات لم تحظ بتأييد الشعب ولم تترجم على أرض الواقع ولذلك فإن المسار الإبراهيمي يهدف إلى التطبيع الشعبي مستخدمين غطاء دينياً وسياحياً وإنسانياً للحديث عن المحبة والأخوة في الوقت الذي يتم الإبقاء على احتلال الأرض وقتل أهلها الأصليين ونهب الثروات وابتلاع الحقوق.
إن المطلوب اليوم من المرجعيات البحثية والدينية والسياسية في وطننا العربي هو مقارعة هذا التيار بالفكر والحجة والمنطق والحقوق وعدم إغفاله أو السكوت عنه، والتوقيت هو البارحة واليوم وغداً. وألا يُسمح لمثل هذه الأفكار والرؤى أن تصبح جزءاً من المناهج التعليمية حيث تعمل منظمات مختلفة لدسّ هذه المفاهيم في مناهج عربية، وأن يتمّ تفنيد خطورة الاسم والمسمى والأهداف الملغومة المبطنة لمشروع يستهدف عروبتنا ووجودنا وحقوقنا في حضارتنا وتاريخنا وأرضنا ومستقبل أجيالنا.
Any wrong or racist attitude may eclipse the truth for some time, but it cannot do so forever.

When the black movement in the US raised the motto “Black Lives Matter”, after the killing of George Floyd, the rest of the world should have joined by raising the motto “human lives matter”. So many people in different countries in the world have forgotten that they belong to one human race and one human family, either due to the colors of their skins and eyes, or due to the advanced positions their countries have reached in different domains. Amidst the hard competition we witness among people in different areas, it may well suit some to discriminate against others and belittle their achievements in order to get them out of their way. Athletes competing for medals are perhaps the most exposed to this kind of racism, which lately started to infect unusual territories, such as education and art, which until recently were thought to be totally safe from such practices.
As London Art Biennale is a huge landmark for artists from all over the world, it is important to relate here to our dear readers an important incident that has taken place in 2021 London Art Biennale. The Syrian sculptor, Rami Wakkaf, responded to the invitation to participate in this Biennale by sending two of his works, which were very well received and bought almost immediately by the Biennale. Accordingly, he applied for a visa to attend the event, but of course he was not granted a visa because he is Syrian.
After waiting patiently for the art judges, Rami was told that one of his works has got the prize for the best sculpture in the Biennale. Of course, he was very happy and excited and put the happy item on his Facebook and received congratulations and requests for media interviews.
The next day, and perhaps after the Committee was reminded that he is Syrian, and no need to say that Syria is subjected to coercive US measures, he received a second email, which read that “the vote was very close, and during the jury recount, the artwork by Jason Briggs won that particular prize by one vote,” expressing sincere apologies for the mistake.
Is it possible that the first email, which was sent to inform Rami Wakkaf that his work won the first prize, was sent before the final counting of the votes and before a final decision was made by the committee to choose this work? There is no doubt that the works of Rami Wakkaf would outlive the Committee’s decision and would receive the attention and celebration they are worthy of.
Any wrong or racist attitude may eclipse the truth for some time, but it cannot do so forever. Racism is the antithesis of everything human, creative, and exceptional.
It is the tool of those who fail to achieve and to appreciate the excellence of the achievements of others, and always for the wrong reasons.
People in our region never used to believe that such things may happen in a Western country as they have an exaggerated idea of the absolute moral behavior of the West. But as means of communication are bridging distances, the truth is closer at hand.
The West cannot indulge in racist practices, whilst keeping its moral superiority or its claims that it provides criteria for human behavior and ethics. It has to choose one or the other, or the choice will be made anyway.
